Efforts are under way to end a deadly battle between farmers and elephants in a rural area of Malawi. The International Fund for Animal Welfare says it is doing that by moving more than 60 elephants in the southern African country. They are being taken from Phirilongwe village, south of Lake Malawi, to the Majete Wildlife Reserve. Jason Bell-Leask, a director for IFAW, said the evacuation began Monday with nine elephants, including three young calves, that were tranquilized and lifted by a crane onto trucks for the six-hour journey to the reserve. Local farmers sometimes use violence to protect their crops from raids by the elephants, and at least 10 people and a number of elephants have recently died in such confrontations. "For years the herd has been maimed by local villagers, sometimes using appallingly cruel methods to protect their crops and granaries from raids by the elephants," said Bell-Leask. "Our team on the ground reports that one of the elephants darted this morning is missing the bottom portion of her trunk — probably as a result of a snare." The relocation of the dozens of elephants is expected to take about three weeks

Gabon president dies after rulling for 42 years. Omar Bongo, the world's longest-serving president whose 42-year rule of Gabon was a throwback to an era when Africa was ruled by "Big Men," died Monday. He was 73. The government responded to Bongo's death at a hospital in Spain by closing Gabon's international airport and the nation's land and sea borders. Security forces took up positions in front of government buildings and electrical installations in Libreville, the capital. People rushed home after the news was announced, causing traffic jams. Some residents could be seen hurrying out with empty bags, apparently to stock up on food in advance of possible store closures. Since the head of state had checked into the Spanish hospital last month, Gabonese officials had aggressively denied that he was ill, insisting he had gone to Spain to observe "a period of mourning" following the death of his wife. They initially denied he was in the hospital at all, then later said he had been admitted to the clinic, but only for a checkup. Just hours before announcing Bongo's death, Gabonese Prime Minister Jean Eyeghe Ndong held a news conference at the Quiron Clinic in Barcelona to say the president was "alive and well." Plans for a state funeral were under way and will soon be announced, Communications Minister Laure Gondjout told The Associated Press by telephone late Monday. She stressed the country's constitution "will be followed." The constitution calls for the head of the Senate to assume power and for presidential elections within 90 days. There has been widespread speculation that one of Bongo's sons would try to seize power upon his father's death, as happened in nearby Togo. Bongo, who was believed to be one of the world's wealthiest leaders, became the longest-ruling head of government — a category that does not include the monarchs of Britain and Thailand — when Cuba's Fidel Castro handed power to his brother last year. Bongo had kept a tight grip on power in the oil-rich former French colony since he became president in 1967, and his ruling party has dominated the country's parliament for decades. Opposition parties were only allowed in 1990, amid a wave of pro-democracy protests. Elections since then have been marred by allegations of rigging and unrest. In 2003, parliament — dominated by his supporters — removed presidential term limits from the constitution. While most Gabonese genuinely feared Bongo and there was little opposition, many accepted his rule because he had kept his country remarkably peaceful and governed without the sustained brutality characteristic of many dictators. Bongo, meanwhile, amassed a fortune that made him one of the world's richest men, according to Freedom House, a private Washington-based democracy watchdog organization, although nobody really knows how much he was worth. Earlier this year, a French judge decided to investigate Bongo and two other African leaders over accusations of money laundering and other alleged crimes linked to their wealth in France. The probe followed a complaint by Transparency International France, an association that tracks corruption. French media have reported that Bongo's family owns abundant real estate in France — at one time owning more properties in Paris than any other foreign leader. Born Albert Bernard Bongo on Dec. 30, 1935, the youngest of 12 children, Bongo served as a lieutenant in the French Air Force, then climbed quickly through the civil service, eventually becoming vice president. He assumed the presidency Dec. 2, 1967, after the death of Leon M'Ba, the country's only other head of state since independence from France in 1960. Bongo set up a one-party state. Six years later, he converted to Islam and took the name Omar. His presidential security staff numbered 1,500, according to the U.S. State Department, while the entire military numbers just 10,000 troops. Bongo sought international approval and in May 2004 he visited then-President Bush at the White House. He also tried to cast himself as a mediator, working to end conflicts in Chad and Central African Republic, where his country has a small contingent of peacekeepers. French President Nicolas Sarkozy expressed his "sadness and emotion" at Bongo's death on Monday and pledged that France would remain "loyal to its long relationship of friendship" with Gabon. "It is a great and loyal friend of France who has left us — a grand figure of Africa," Sarkozy said in a statement. France has been accused of propping up its old colonial partners in Africa and looking the other way as leaders like Bongo siphoned off their country's resources, leaving a majority of its people mired in poverty. "A great figure for Africa? This guy was a scoundrel on the first order. If there was ever a poster boy for what you want to avoid in terms of leadership on the continent, he would have been No. 1," said former U.S. ambassador to Tanzania Charles Stith, now the director of Boston University's African Presidential Archives and Research Center. The scandals involving Bongo's wealth have long been fodder for French gossip columns. In the early 1990s, an Italian fashion designer testified he had flown call girls to the president along with his suits. Three years ago, Bongo's daughter-in-law, married to his son, the defense minister, appeared on the American reality show "Really Rich Real Estate," shopping for a $25 million Beverly Hills mansion. In 2003, an official of French oil giant Elf Aquitaine — which at one time operated in Gabon — testified he had opened several Swiss bank accounts for Bongo into which commissions were paid on multimillion-dollar oil deals. Bongo has vigorously denied receiving any money through the accounts. Gabon is the No. 5 oil exporter in sub-Saharan Africa, and Bongo built a vast system of patronage, doling out largesse in part through the salaries and benefits that came with Cabinet posts. But oil dependency means the country has more oil pipeline — 886 miles (1,425 kilometers) — than paved roads — 582 miles (936 kilometers). Only 1 percent of its land is cultivated and Gabon produces virtually no food. Instead, basics such as tomatoes are imported from France, the former colonial master, and neighboring Cameroon, pushing prices so high that Libreville, the capital, is the world's eighth most expensive city, according to Employment Conditions Abroad International. ___ Callimachi reported from Dakar, Senegal. Associated Press writers Todd Pitman in Dakar, and Daniel Woolls in Madrid, contributed to this report.

The Nigerian Police is a very BIG PART of the NIGERIAN PROBLEM and until IT IS TOTALLY DISMANTLED as it is presently constituted, THERE WILL BE NO ORDER in Nigeria. The police actions here is not an isolated incident; BUT A GLARING EXAMPLE of the Lawlessness and total disregard for due process and order which pervades that the whole Nigerian police Force. Everyone who wishes Nigeria well MUST INSIST ON THESE particular group of police men and women to be dealt with for their part in this National disgrace and then dismissed completely from the Nigerian police force forever. THEIR ACTIONS HERE IS A SLAP ON THE FACE OF EVERY NIGERIAN |

A judge beaten in his own court A RECENT incident reported by The Punch newspaper ought to attract public outrage but in the absence of this in a society that is already shocked beyond further shock, the implications of the developments for the health of society and its moral fibre should not be allowed to pass unremarked. What exactly is wrong with us in this country? Is our country a large mental ward or just another land? See The Punch, May 30, pp. 3 and 20, an interview titled: "While policemen beat me in court, their senior officers laughed - Wilberforce Meigbope, the magistrate beaten by Lagos policemen for granting suspects bail." Mr. Wilberforce Meigbope, the Presiding Magistrate of Court 8, Botannical Garden, Ebute Meta, Lagos, alleges in the newspaper interview that on May 19, he was beaten up in his court by policemen, while their senior officers laughed. He had made in the eyes of the police the terrible and unforgivable mistake of granting bail to 25 suspects who had been brought in on a three-count charge of conspiracy, allegation of demanding N15 million and being members of an unlawful society known as the Niger Delta Coastal Security. These are bailable offences under Nigerian law and the duty of the judex is to apply the law. But the police had insisted on influencing the judge. When he refused, they resorted to self-help. The tragedy of it is that police men are part of the justice administration system with the court of law at the apex. The police have no powers to issue judgements: the role of all players within the justice dispensation system is well outlined. But when policemen begin to behave like thugs in a court of law, then the entire machinery of justice is derailed. The idea of policemen beating judges is preposterous. I guess it points to the continuing failure of Nigeria as a state. Mr Meigbope's experience had all the elements of the bizzare. The facts of the case as reported by the Magistrate are as follows: On April 14, the accussed persons had been granted bail, but only one of them was yet to perfect her bail conditions. The police prosecutors had registered their objection to the bail on the grounds that "the matter is serious". On April 28, the police applied to withdraw the case, but the magistrate refused to grant the application. On May 19 when the case was called again in court, the police requested that the case should be adjourned till July 27 at 12 noon. The magistrate granted both requests. Meanwhile the bail that had been granted by the court on April 14 was still in effect. But as soon as the magistrate moved on to "other matters", hell broke loose. The magistrate paints the picture himself: "About 10 minutes later, some lawyers just broke into the proceedings and said that despite the court order, the police had been arresting the 25 accussed persons, because on that day, the lady that was not able to meet her bail condition also came from Kirikiri. After listening to them, I rose and went out. I met with the policemen and said: 'Please comply with the court order.' They ignored me. They refused to stop. One of them even told me that he would shoot me. Before I knew what was going on, the accussed persons started jumping down from the two buses which had been hijacked for the purpose of rearresting them. Some jumped through the window and landed on my shoulder, some rushed out through the door. They held my hands and legs and started pleading, 'Sir, help us, you must help us'. The policemen started punching them against me and in a twinkle of an eye, I felt all manner of blows over my body. In the melee, my shirt was torn and three buttons fell off my suit." His Worship was eventually rescued by "judiciary staff." "All the senior police officers that came to court that day were inside their cars within the court premises. It was raining. They saw the scene but they did not do anything. I believe they gave the order that led to the mayhem, Before I went to the buses that they hijacked, I told them (officers) to talk to their boys to comply with the court order. They did not even do as if they heard me. They were just laughing." Commenting further on police behaviour, His Worship says one Inspector Julius Okoedo during the arraignment of the matter kept making noise in court and although the magistrate told him to stay where the lawyers were, the policeman told the magistrate that "he had no right." Meigbope reports that the Inspector, "the one who called himself a lawyer" had advised him not to grant the suspects bail, but "I refused. To play police game? That means you are already dead, I am here to maintain justice even at the point of death." For standing firm, Mr. Meigbope now suffers a lot of pains. "Now if I want to sleep at night, my heart would be throbbing. Whether it is broken, I don't know. Then my shoulder, my hips, my thigh where those people held me and they were beating them and beating me". We sympathise with His Worship. His story should be read by all judges and magistrates for it raises not just the obvious issue of the lawlessness of the police, but also the conduct of the judex. The Honourable Magistrate in this instance abandoned his Bench and jumped into the arena with his hands and feet and mouth, and hence he found himself in the undignified position of being assaulted and threatened. He should have stayed on his Bench. And who are those jankara lawyers who rushed in to plead with the magistrate to come out and physically enforce his own order? And he too rushed out of the court, like a militant, to meet with the policemen to tell them 'please comply with the court order'! And he got beaten in the process, and he lost three buttons and his shirt was torn. He should thank his stars he didn't lose some teeth. His Worship could have been shot and the police would have reported the matter as a case of accidental discharge. Strange things happen in the Nigerian magistracy, but this must go down as one of the funniest. The magistrate became a policeman, threatening to enforce his own orders "at the point of death", and the police whose original duty is to enforce the law became law breakers in court premises. What happened in front of Magistrate Meigbope's court on May 19 is a complete breakdown of law and order, with His Worship as the protagonist of a sordid drama. It could have been really sad still if the learned Magistrate had also tried to retaliate by hitting a policeman in return. Judges must realise that the best protection that they have is within the province of the law not physical exertion. When the lawyers came to His Worship, he should have told them to take the appropriate steps to ensure compliance with court order. Those lawyers should know what to do and if they don't, it is not the duty of the presiding judge to act on their behalf by embarking on a rescue mission. Meigbope is a very articulate man and the interview that he has granted The Punch newspaper is quite entertaining, but he must be told that it is not in the place of judges to behave like village chiefs. He has brought the Bench to great ridicule and he lays himself open to charges of partisanship. He says he has reported the incident to the Lagos State Judiciary. The first response from above should be to take the case away from him, to prevent the absurd situation of further physical conflict in his court in this matter. In the same interview, Meigbope points out that the Lagos State judiciary can boast of "well certificated judges, experienced and learned judges who are prepared to make sure that justice is done". Yes, but not through physical involvement, and certainly not through newspaper interviews! Meigbope's experience confirms the need for the training and retraining of the judex at all levels. Now, he says he will submit the bill for his medical treatment to the state for reimbusement, But there is no doubt that the police in this case are useless and that their conduct, including the senior officers who laughed as the law was being broken is reprehensible. We have a police force, as Meigbope points out, where many of the officers are lawyers, and yet the police is the leading law-breaking institution in Nigeria. This points to the general collapse of values and standards in the land, and the failure of the police as an institution. When lawyers and judges exchange altercations in the court room and the police insist on over-ruling judges, with the accussed clinging to the trousers of the judge for physical help, it means that our society is lost. The judiciary fails in its function as the last hope of the common man and the reign of impunity is encouraged. We are unfortunately growing a society where there is widespread disregard for the law at all levels. As I read Meigbope's interview and the accompanying Lagos State Police PRO's dismissal of the incident as mere "rumour", I thought of the riotous behaviour by voters, electoral officials and the police in the recent election in Ekiti State, the alleged execution of suspects in police cells, the number of awaiting trial persons in Nigerian prisons, and the well-reported menace of policemen on Nigerian roads, all in a country where the incumbent President says his primary ambition is to enforce the rule of law. The Inspector General of Police and the Lagos State Police Commissioner, both of whom are lawyers should take personal interest in Magistrate Meigbope's case. Who are those policemen who threatened to shoot the learned magistrate? Was there a breakdown of communication on the bail process and why, if so? And is it possible that the accussed persons were being arrested for another offence different from the case already before the court? It is about time the Nigerian Bar Association and the Body of Benchers began to take a keen interest also in cases of this nature: errant lawyers who turn court premises into an arena for combat should have their names struck off the register, be they men of uniform or not. The Nigerian judiciary must also invest in the training of its officers, with special emphasis on decorum. |
Man jailed 30 years over fake Naira Federal High Court sitting in Gombe, Gombe State, has sentenced one Mr. Sale Mohammed to 30 years imprisonment on a six-count charge of conspiracy and counterfeiting of Nigerian currency. According to a statement by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) whose North East Zonal office spearheaded the prosecution, other persons involved in the case include Abdulrahman Dawaki and Mohammed Chubado. Femi Babafemi, Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC who signed the statement noted that the suspects were accused of counterfeiting and possessing N1, 000 and N500 , offences punishable under Section 1 (1) of the Counterfeit Currency (Special Provision) Act Cap C35 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004. "At the time of arrest, the accused persons were found with counterfeit money totalling N150, 500 (One hundred and fifty thousand, five hundred Naira) only in N1000 and N500 Naira denominations. While Sale Mohammed, first accused pleaded guilty to all six charges, Abdulrahman Dawaki and Mohammed Chubado, 2nd and 3rd accused respectively pleaded not guilty. "Counsel to EFCC, Hanafi Saád while reiterating the plea of the 1st accused Sale Mohammed to having pleaded guilty as charged, prayed the court to convict him accordingly and applied for a future date to call witnesses against the 2nd and 3rd accused persons. "Sa’ad further informed the court that Sale was an unrepentant criminal; that when he was on EFCC bail in May 2009, he was caught on the street of Yola, Adamawa state, trying to buy oranges from a roadside trader with fake N1,000 note. He was promptly arrested and handed over to the Nigeria Police in the state," Babafemi said. "The defence counsel, Herbert Nwoye, who stood in for the three accused persons, initially urged the presiding judge to explain the consequences of currency counterfeiting to the 1st accused "so that he can understand the implications of his plea". "Justice Shuaibu took umbrage at the defence counsel and wondered why he should be the one to do the explanation as it was the duty of the counsel to have explained to his clients. Nwoye quickly withdrew his statement and pleaded with the judge to temper justice with mercy. He pleaded that the accused was willing to change and lead a more positive life. "While sentencing the accused, Justice Shuaibu said , "after listening to both counsel, and taking into cognisance that the 1st accused had shown remorse and did not waste the time of the court in admitting his guilt, and taking into consideration the plea of the defence counsel and hoping that the accused will live a more positive life hereafter, I hereby sentence him to 5 years imprisonment on each of the six charges, with no option of fine, and the charges are to run concurrently". The court adjourned to June 24 for further hearing while the 2nd and 3rd accused, Dawaki and Chubado were to be remanded in prison custody, the statement added. |

Little Known Truths About Prostitutes You are about to read what God's word has to say about the prostitute. Among other things, you may be surprised who she actually is and what her victims are like. You will also learn the Biblical definition of a prostitute, which is certainly different from what most think: For these commands are a lamp, this teaching is a light, and the corrections of discipline are the way to life, keeping you from the immoral woman, from the smooth tongue of the wayward wife. Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes, for the prostitute reduces you to a loaf of bread, and the adulteress preys upon your very life. Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned? Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched? So is he who sleeps with another man's wife; no one who touches her will go unpunished. Men do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy his hunger when he is starving. Yet if he is caught, he must pay sevenfold, though it costs him all the wealth of his house. But a man who commits adultery lacks judgment; whoever does so destroys himself. Blows and disgrace are his lot, and his shame will never be wiped away; for jealousy arouses a husband's fury, and he will show no mercy when he takes revenge. He will not accept any compensation; he will refuse the bribe, however great it is. My son, keep my words and store up my commands within you. Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart. Say to wisdom, "You are my sister," and call understanding your kinsman; they will keep you from the adulteress, from the wayward wife with her seductive words. At the window of my house I looked out through the lattice. I saw among the simple, I noticed among the young men, a youth who lacked judgment. He was going down the street near her corner, walking along in the direction of her house at twilight, as the day was fading, as the dark of night set in. Then out came a woman to meet him, dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent. (She is loud and defiant, her feet never stay at home; now in the street, now in the squares, at every corner she lurks.) She took hold of him and kissed him and with a brazen face she said: "I have fellowship offerings at home; today I fulfilled my vows. So I came out to meet you; I looked for you and have found you! I have covered my bed with colored linens from Egypt. I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes and cinnamon. Come, let's drink deep of love till morning; let's enjoy ourselves with love! My husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey. He took his purse filled with money and will not be home till full moon." With persuasive words she led him astray; she seduced him with her smooth talk. All at once he followed her like an ox going to the slaughter, like a deer stepping into a noose till an arrow pierces his liver, like a bird darting into a snare, little knowing it will cost him his life. Now then, my sons, listen to me; pay attention to what I say. Do not let your heart turn to her ways or stray into her paths. Many are the victims she has brought down; her slain are a mighty throng. Her house is a highway to the grave, leading down to the chambers of death (Prov. 6:23-7:27). Fifteen Facts About the Prostitute We just learned the following: * she primarily goes hunting at night time. * she dresses a certain way (to excite the flesh). * she has a crafty, evil intent. * she is loud. * she is defiant. * she can be beautiful. * she doesn't stay at home. * she hangs out in the squares and street corners where there are lots of people. * she aggressively approaches her potential victim. * she has a brazen look. * she is religious. * she tells her potential victims that they are the ones she has been looking for. * she is married, but states that her husband is gone for a long time. * she is persuasive and smooth with her seductive words. * this kind of prostitute does not ask for money. The victim of a prostitute: * lacks judgment. * is likened unto an ox going to the slaughter as he follows her into sin. * is likened unto a deer stepping into a noose till an arrow pierces his liver (and dies). * is likened unto a bird darting into a snare. * is unaware that sexual sin (adultery) will cost him his life. Infidelity Such a wayward, adulterous wife (prostitute) has brought down many victims. Her slain are a mighty throng. "Her house is the way to hell " is the rendering of verse 27 in several translations (KJV, MKJV, NKJV, God'sWord). Many other Scriptures show any kind of sexual sin will send one to the lake of fire (Rev. 21:8; 1 Cor. 6:9,10; Eph. 5:5-7; Mt. 5:28,29; Gal. 5:19-21; Jude 7; etc.). The prodigal, in Jesus' teaching in Luke 15, sinned with prostitutes but came back to spiritual life, just like all others who are willing to sincerely and humbly repent and return to God to serve him. Godly Wisdom Besides all of that, Godly wisdom has multiple sin-preventative benefits, including becoming the victim of a prostitute. Also, let's not forget that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of [Godly] wisdom (Psa. 111:10; Prov. 9:10). Many in our day lack this vital fear and therefore don't have Godly wisdom and its benefits: Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse, who leave the straight paths to walk in dark ways, who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil, whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways. It will save you also from the adulteress, from the wayward wife with her seductive words, who has left the partner of her youth and ignored the covenant she made before God. For her house leads down to death and her paths to the spirits of the dead. None who go to her return or attain the paths of life (Prov. 2:12-19). According to that passage, the adulteress (or prostitute) is a divorcee—one who left the partner of her youth and ignored the covenant she made before God. Such a person will take you to hell with her (unless you turn away from such wickedness and get Biblically forgiven). An Adulteress = A Prostitute According to what you have read in these Scriptures, any adulteress is a prostitute, even if she doesn't want money! What a surprise that must be to many who have committed adultery, but would never think of themselves as a prostitute. Nonetheless, this is how God sees them. This truth should help all in this vile sin to recognize how heinous it is and to repent before it is too late and they get thrown into the lake of fire. We know from other Scriptures that Rahab was a prostitute that got saved (James 2:25). Furthermore, salvation for male prostitutes is shown in the New Testament: Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexuals nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God (1 Cor. 6:9-11). Hence, if you have been or still are a prostitute or the victim of a prostitute—repent while you still can. God has forgiven those who repent and will do the same for you. Bathsheba Since an adulteress is a prostitute and Bathsheba was an adulteress, then Bathsheba was a prostitute, according to the Bible. Bathesheba was also religious and beautiful yet took a bath where others could view her naked body. Such wickedness led to David sinning with her. Finally, the Bible also likens a prostitute to a bandit among other things: For a prostitute is a deep pit and a wayward wife is a narrow well. Like a bandit she lies in wait, and multiplies the unfaithful among men (Prov. 23:27, 28). |

23:27, 28). |

How we shared prostitution proceeds’ A federal high court presided over by Justice Binta Murtala-Nyako in Lagos was on Monday told how proceeds of prostitution was allegedly shared between an hotel manager, Alhaji Lasbiat Alebiosu and a 16-year-old prostitute, Iyabo Babatunde. The National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons and Other Matters (NAPTIP) has dragged Alebiosu before the court on a ten-count charge which centred on prostitution. Alebiosu was accused of encouraging teenagers to indulge in prostitution, while using his hotel, Better Life Hotel, Ijora, Lagos, to harbour them. Testifying before the court, Iyabo said about five men sleep with her on daily basis and each of her customers paid N700, out of which Alhaji collected N200. “Anytime people come, Alhaji collect N200 and I collect N500. “The customers come to drink in Alhaji’s hotel and after drinking, they will ask for somebody and Alhaji will point at me. “If I disagree, they will rape me but if I agree, they will pay me N500. Alhaji also sleep with me regularly,” she said. Iyabo said apart from the money the accused collected from the proceeds of the prostitution, he also collected N300 everyday to settle police officers in the area. Justice Murtala-Nyako adjourned the matter till June 15. |
Man arrested for 'web live-stream rape' THE case of a 20-year-old man who allegedly raped a young woman while she was asleep and streamed the act live on a website could be the first of its kind. Johnathon Richard Hock of Surprise in Arizona turned himself in to Phoenix police and is in jail without bail, charged with suspicion of kidnapping, sexual assault and surreptitious photographing, the East Valley Tribune reports. According to detectives with the Phoenix Police Department, a 20-year-old woman came to police in March and said she had been sexually assaulted about a week before. The woman told police she had received information from her friends that there was a video on a website that showed her having sex with a man. In the video, the woman appears to be unconscious. She told police that the man was known to her and they had recently met. “She said while he was doing this he was laughing and making comments,” the police search affidavit states. “She said (Hock) made comments about how the victim would never know what was happening to her because she was 'passed out’.” Police allege that in the early hours (local time) of February 26, Mr Hock went into the victim's bedroom and proceeded to rape her after setting up a laptop with built-in camera and signed onto a website he regularly posted on. Authorities were also separately alerted to the images by the website's users. While it is common for young people to video record their crimes and post them on the internet, this case may be breaking new ground, said Parry Aftab, executive director of WiredSafety.org. “It’s the first livestream of an actual rape that I’m aware of,” said Mr Aftab, who has been in the internet safety business for 14 years. |
Housewife dies after labourA baby boy, who was born by a middle-aged housewife last Sunday after a protracted labour was later dumped in the garbage bin adjacent to his mum’s house. The housewife whose name was simply given as Abeke died a few minutes after she was delivered the child. The incident happened at a house opposite Macgregor compound in Ago-Ika area of Abeokuta. The baby was found in the dust bin by a sympathiser who had just visited at the home of the deceased. The attention of the sympathizer was drawn to the dust bin as a result of distress cry of the baby boy from the rubbish and the woman raised alarm. The boy was at that point in pain from the many termites which were apparently trying to feast on the blood around his body. Investigation by Daily Champion revealed that the dead woman was allegedly given some concoctions by her friends with whom she was squatting in the house. When our correspondent visited the scene a few hours later many questions being asked by sympathizers were: How did the baby get to the dust bin since his mother had died immediately after he was born? Did the woman die after dumping the boy? These and other questions were the subject of discussion as symphatizers milled round the house on the fateful day. The Ogun State Police Command spokesman, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, when contacted on telephone yesterday, said he was yet to be informed about the incident. He said he was yet to go through his mail when our correspondent called him. |

BE VERY SURE AND READ THE VERY LAST PART ! Please read and forward to as many people as you can. You'll understand after reading this. To My Child (don't delete ~ its being tracked) Just for this morning, I am going to smile when I see your face and laugh when I feel like crying. Just for this morning, I will let you choose what you want to wear, and smile and say how perfect it is. Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play. Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together. Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles, Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck, and I will buy you one if he comes by. Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned. Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them. Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys, Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you. Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry. Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars. Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favourite TV shows. Just for this evening when I run my finger through your hair as you pray, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given. I will think about the mothers and fathers who are searching for their missing children, the mothers and fathers who are visiting their children's graves instead of their bedrooms, and mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly, and screaming inside that they can't handle it anymore. And when I kiss you goodnight I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then, that I will thank God for you, and ask him for nothing, except one more day, Hi. I am a 29 year old father. Me and my wife have had a wonderful life together. God blessed us with a child too. Our daughter's name is Rachel, and she is 10 years old. Not long ago did the doctors detect brain cancer in her little body. There is only one way to save her and that is an operation. Sadly we don't have the money for the operation. AOL and Zdnet have agreed to help us. The only way they can help is this: If you send this email to other people, AOL will track this email and count how many people get it. Every person that opens this email and sends it to at least 3 people will give us 32 cent. Please help us. George Arlington - Pray for a Cure |

Thanks guys,I think we can start making the changes from our respective homes, educate your sisters against this social menace,i will educate mine,if we go on that way we we make a positive impart with time,i think we should not fold our hands and wait 4 a govt that is not sincere to take more dubious step that will aggravate this situation in the name of controlling or curtailing it,pray God help us all.I must confess smtn i just notice over the last 2 weeks, most of the young sch.leaver girls now see prostitution as leisure & pleasure.Try proof my statement, watch out this week |
we can trace the genesis of this madness to the unclothedness of our female children at home. The society is merely feeding on it. It is now a show of modernity to allow our girls display unclothedness in their dressing at home. Nudity is openly admired, applauded and praised from our homes to school etc. MAN WILL DEFINITELY RESPOND TO BARE FEMALE BODIES! WISE MEN OF OLD KNEW HOW TO CONTROL LUST BY TRAINING FEMALES IN PROPER EXPOSURE-FROM HOME |
