When a notoriously Hardened Criminal formed a "Religion" ...! Na Wahala be dat...
We already know this fact. All the most dangerous nations on earth are of Islam. Somalia, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Core north of Nigeria, Libya and Pakistan are all EVIL AXIS. Islam joined them all. Yeah including Russia, Ukraine, North Korea, Israel, Venezuela and Colombia. Islam joined them all, I believe. One thing is very peculiar to the religion bigots. They quickly rush to the internet to pick what pleases and cause confusion with it. Can you tell me one Nation that has annihilated innocent people more than U.S in the world today? U.S is an Islamic Nation, I suppose. Stop fooling around man, don't let your hatred for Islam gets better of you.. |

midnighter: Nobody should be castigated for not decorating their face but at the same time people shouldnt pretend that our ancestors were living in some kind of pre-colonial bubble where nobody cared about their appearance or chose to adorn or decorate themselves...it didnt just start now.. people shouldnt be made to feel bad for whats a normal part of humanity. Its just that you shouldnt rely on it or overdo it and fall victim to your own vanity
On the other hand the materialism of todays society has made it so that people feel a lot of pressure to pretend to be something they are not in order to keep up.. the "extreme make-up" is just a symptom of it
In my opinion the bride could/should at least have put on some light powder and lipgloss for the sake of her wedding occasion... not to do with make-up but to do with looking tidy and decent as a human being celebrating a special day and presenting herself as a bride to the world
In that vein you may as well say she shouldnt have bothered wearing wedding gown and should just wear her normal clothes to wed I concur to your argument |

midnighter: I agree with you to an extent but there has always, always been make-up. What we're seeing now is just a development of beauty enhancements from the past. Even our ancestors would not be plain on their wedding day, its in the nature of humans to decorate themselves Sure, but no one should be castigated from not decorating her face. Lol, the one we see now I doubt is an advancement of the ancient styles, but a new total deception. In the past, ladies used powder and pencil lead which doesn't really mask their looks, but the reverse is the case today. Maybe the one am talking about is extreme make-up. |

NwaAmaikpe:

I'd never understand how men find women who don't use makeup attractive? I'd never fully understand how they'd even feel something for a woman whose face is as bland as someone being prepared for embalment.
Religious doctrines are our undoing. Nowhere in the bible was makeup outlawed. How will women who can't paint their faces make a colourful home? So, in the past when there was no makeup people don't get attracted to ladies right? Just because make-up is global now doesn't mean every one must accept it. Leave them to their decisions, at least don't judge them, not everyone love to be unnatural.. |

true2god: Sir, mention a single evil I committed. Has quoting the Quran and the hadith, and explaining it to people, becomes an evil. In all my engagement on Nairaland, I have always quoted Muslim sources before making my argument on it and how does that become evil? I am student of comparative religion and so you must expect me to debate Muslims any day and anytime; it is a past time hobby to me. I have no single Muslim enemy and as a matter of fact my best friend is a Muslim (with all honesty) and I will never ask him to leave Islam. I am more comfortable debating Muslims online because the risk is very minimal and I believe some people may leave Islam after our engagements. Don't see me as an intellectual bully the same way many Muslims see me on and offline. I am a simple man by nature.
Asalam alekum! Hello bro. I am not here for your intellectual romance. I have gone through most of your conversation on Nairaland, and I have come to realise that no matter how much truthful explanation is given to you, you won't still accept the truth. Like you have programmed your mind to just debate, but not accept the truth when it surfaces. Religious matters are beyond that bro. You can change your ways it will be altruistic for you, I mean debate with an open mind and be ready to admit and accept the truth when glaring. Peace he unto you. |

Any course like M&S, Dentistry, MCB, ANATOMY, PHARMACY course wey dey deal with Human life, d requirements should be very stringent so that we go fit reduce d number of Quacks wey we get. Its bad enough if we have half backed graduate of engineering but it will be worse of we have half backed health workers & Doctors. Quack or half-baked is not tolerable in any discipline as each as its role to play. But, personally I don't see waiving a course as a big deal, we do so many irrelevant modules in Nigerian institutions but do less of practicals and research, which is totally the opposite in the saner climes. The world’s first & only cardionephrologist is 47 year old Nigerian, Dr Olurotimi Badero. Born in Lagos, he studied medicine at OAU Ife, internal medicine at the University of New York, earned his specialty degree in nephrology at Emory University, Atlanta. While at Emory, he found that the commonest cause of death for patients was heart disease not kidney disease, so he went back for a specialty degree in cardiology. In 2009, he went to Yale for 3 more specialties in interventional cardiology, peripheral vascular medicine & peripheral vascular convention. Spending 10 years of continuous post-grad medical training. He’s ED of Cardiac Renal & Vascular Associates; Medical Director of St. Joseph Hospice, and on the global Advisory Board of the therapeutics experts on Thrombosis and Atherosclerosis, Merck Pharmaceuticals USA. To survive in the US, he drove a cab during the day and studied at night. He did not have money to buy books so always used the library. At a time,he had to eat only bread for 3 days. The minimum pass mark for every course was 90% and he couldn’t afford to have a resit because of the cost, so he studied extra hard to excel. NwaAmaikpe:

Your physical and biological sciences subjects are sadly amongst the weakest in your result. You will not do well in Medicine.
A C5 in Biology means you have just an average knowledge of human cells, the anatomy and all the various systems that make up the human body.
A C6 in Chemistry means you have just a vague comprehension of chemicals, their properties and potential reactions with cells in the human body.
How can you diagnose and prescribe then without killing people? Those alone are the basics in MBBS.
My advice is this, Study Geography and Planning or Geology up to the Ph.D level and you'd still be a doctor.
Afterall a doctor is still a doctor. Even Papa Sherifatu the babalawo's business card reads Doctor. Lol. The Op didn't say he wants to practice with his WAEC, he would be trained and taught on how to be a medical personnel, so I don't feel he should be discouraged... All the best in fulfilling his aspiration. |

Even Donald Trump was known to have mishandle some women sexually and Americans didn't go after him like this in as much as they are more sophisticated democratically.

Also, you will sound more rational if you respect others people beliefs... No one is asking you to believe, just be liberal.... Benite: You should be ashamed of yourself abdullahi, see what religious extremism has caused you. Can a female Christian go to an islamic school and refuse to dress with hijab. Of course she will not be admitted in the first place. Nigeria is a secular state, institutions are governed by rules, that school is not the only school in Ibadan. If they dont want to abide by the school rules then they should take her to islamic school. Moreover there is a court ruling barring the use of hijab in that school, so it is the school authority that is being treated badly by the girl's overzealous father Badiru, i guess you know the law more than the court that ruled in favour of the school. You are indeed a shameless extremist abdullahi. Religious extremism you call it? I guess you have no idea of what extremism is, so I don't blame you. What an analogy you have just made, and tell me, when does a Federal government owned high school becomes a christian school? The country is a secular nation like you mention and it permits religious freedom, so tell me how will the little girl religious wear affect others in the school, barring her from using it is tantamount to asking her to discredit her beliefs.. I am not just a Muslim, young man... I say the truth as it is discerned regardless of the religious beliefs of the involved personality... We should rather be humans than oppressing people because of what they believe.. Why not believe what you believe, and leave others to what they believe.. These sort of religious apartheid should stop against all religious beliefs... |
