Question is, is it that important whether someone is dark or light? huh
there is no such thing as chocolate. ..you are either dark or brown

Oildichotomy:
Obsession'' with skin tones or whatever that means is being human.

People get 'passionate' (which i believe is the right word) about different things talk more of something that concerns their bodies.
Get over it, cos no matter how hard you preach, people must talk about their bodies and trust me '' skin colour'' is definitely a big part of our very essence as Africans.

BTW, It has always been a best way of adjectival human description.
Why the fuss?
skin colour ia just a protective mechanism against sum races...the closer to equator the darker your skin tonnes. European standard of beauty has really change everything for our female.
They intentionally remove melanin to look light in other to feel cool why killing themselves gradually
They attached all kind of disgusting foreign hair to look European
They were all those terrible make up to look cool.

the funniest part is they spend more money on all these products than education and health.

And the sultan should watch it, is he trying to incite Muslims against Christians? The attackers are not Muslims, are they Buddhists?

please people should stop basing their assumptions or comments on just one sentence. What the emir said and meant that ,from all indications in terms of attack ,timing, and how the attack was carried out,the attackers would have been studying the vicinity and security activities around the mosque for like 2 months. HE DIDN'T SAY HE KNEW ABOUT THE ATTACK FOR 2 MONTHS. That is why the emir used the sentence “from all indications”
Bull shit...100 of people lost their life and you are here talking rubbish.

If he knows the planning and timing of such event, the best thing will be to tell people to be clear off public places and place of worship

My fellow countrymen, please let us wake up. I wonder why so many of us are writing 'question for the gods'.

What is it that mostly drives growth? Its population. Ask China, India etc. America knows it and they are trying so hard to make sure we are depopulated and in disarray so we cannot grow.

Firstly, it was AIDS. They proffered condoms and all types of birth control. They know we've got excellent brain power. There's no US sensitive facility that does not have a high ranking Nigerian working in it. I know of people who are barred from visiting Nigeria because of their sensitive positions even when the mother died.

What have the Americans done since they came to help us in the fight against BH? They may have hijacked BH for their own selfish interests. Who has heard anything about 'Assad must go' again? They're now allies fighting ISIS. It's all about American interests and ideology - being the number one in the world.

I'll not be surprised if they have a hand on this. Why has America refused to sell arms to us, prevented us from buying from others that we had to smuggle cash, all to no avail?

All I am saying is that we have to unite, stop all these e-wars, and think. Why is it hard to find and name some of these BH sponsors and prosecute them? Why did the first BH leader killed by the police (name has escaped me) in detention have $500m in his bank account? Where did he get all that money from?

I finally succumb - 'question for the gods'.
Time to quit smoking marijuana my friend.
population of retards dont drive growth. It only provide a breading ground for social malfunction and disorganization.

India is a shit hole, China is a third world society with large population which means market and cheap Labour. China is a success story because average Chinese don't think and act like you and I.
They work hard to get education to acquire skill that will make them productive and competative
They appoint best people based on merit but not base on ethno-religious sentiment that end us with clueless Jonathan
They obey laws, pay tax, etc
They look for solutions rather than looking at the sky for some ridiculous SKY DADDY.

Nigeria will continue to be a shit hole provide people like you with the above mindset exist.

The following statistics will help you out.
U S A GDP $17 trillion
NIGERIA $ 0.52 trillion

U S A national budget $4 trillion
Nigeria national budget $ 0.023 trillion

so tell me what is special about our shit hole country?

If a lady is not embarrassed fucking around with different men, having a video going viral on the net shouldn't really be a problem because will help her go really popular.

She has not nothing on the guy, she can't. arrest the guy for no evidence, she can't use the military to abuse the guy for no reason. the best way to go about it is for the guy to compromise and let the bitch be.

GEJ cannot manage Nigeria in a sub $60 a barrel scenario. The brains and discipline are not there. I am very sorry for the Niger Delta. By summer of 2015 the price will be $50 a barrel, all the Shakara is finished, militants and oil thieves will find themselves in a very bad business environment as the barges and tankers stop coming There will pressure on the senate to reduce their salary and allowances, this will finally destroy the PDP. The North which is agriculturally rich will begin to flex their muscles. Anybody who says God is asleep is a liar. He is a God of cycles.
The North will seriously be affected because it lack the infrastructure, intellectuals, environment and political willingness to developed...In year 2014, people shouldn't be talking about which region has the highest agricultural potentials but which region can produce value end chains goods

At least when oil gets to 10 Dollars we will start appreciating some of the false allegations against Abacha who was able to execute so much capital projects and keep the Naira stable with oil hovering between 9Dollars and 15 Dollars per barrel but yet accused of stealing billions of Dollars.
Abacha was a criminal and a retards the only person comparable to him is clueless Jonathan.

Nigeria is already very poor even with oil price above $100 per barrel our earnings still stood at only $23billion for a country of 175million people.

permanent solution is to educate those so called politicians on how to cut eown unnecessary spending, salaries, allowances and looting.

you just don't get it... yea there is huge potential because of the population but the problem are just too numerous.
don't full yourself that most made in China goods are produce in Aba or Onitsha. The reality is it is much cheaper to produce in china than Nigeria even when you consider the shipping cost and other things.

We used to run a furniture company where we produce panel doors, flush doors, kitchen cabinets etc but it was impossible to compete with better manufactured Chinese furnitures that are cheaper and more aesthetically pleasing.

what we have in Nigeria are marginal entrepreneur which can hardly feed themself...they are hardworking but the government and system make things very hard for them.
imagine how many Nigerians are hawking along the express way, imagine how many of them are pushing wheel, conductors, taxi drivers, labourers, spare part selllers etc.

Nigeria is a country with little skilled Labour force

poeple are just running away from, the truth is that Nigeria lack the leadership, technical labour force, right environment to developed

It is time to go into production using locally sourced raw materials....
It is also time to export Nigeria from abroad and invest as it will buy more.
it is time to corner the market in area where foreign goods dominate.
It will be time to go into agriculture and food processing of native food.

Every situation is an opportunity for those keen on making it
How do you produce using local raw material when you lack industrial productivity. Nigeria lack the basic know how, infrastructure and finances to sustained a strong manufacturing productivity.

How do you corner the market where foreign producta dominated when you can't produce the substitutes. You need all those electricity, skilled man power to produce goods and services that will be competitive with foreign products.

Go into agriculture? agriculture already contributes more to the GDP. What you need is strong mechanized agriculture. where will you get the tractors, farm inputs, processing factories etc when we a very weak currency.

I am surprised of the overhyped Fashola being rated as the best governor considering the much fund available at his disposal.

I expect by now Lagos would have become the Original MEGA-CITY but what did we get in return? dilapidated classrooms, bad LG & state roads.

I expect that by now Lagos State would be independent in the matter of Power Generation and would no longer rely on FG, what we got, nothing.

Lagos refusal to domesticate Freedom of Information Bill is undemocratic and unprogressive.

All elected position been fixed from Ikoyi have made the elected to be answerable only to the generalissimo and not to the electorate, why?

Lagos State and indeed all states been govern by APC should be a role model but we got a deafening noise from Pots calling Kettle black and media propaganda.

Nigerians look through the veil and see your real enemy.
Shalom!
The major problem with you guys is you don't really know the cost of developing massive infrastructure.

lagos state budget is less around $2.46 billion ( #435billion), for a city or about 12 million people..that amount is grossly inadequate.
cities like Seoul, Tokyo, Yokohama etc spend billions on infrastructure development.

Lagos needs about 10, 000 megawatts of electricity. ..how much do you think that will cost?

Lagos requires about 2 million unit of dwelling units. .how much do you think that will cost?

Lagos requires metro rail to link all the major route in other to decongest the city. ..do you know how many billions dollars will be needed for that?

Lagos need more road network, sea port, a central sewage system, serious water works, more schools etc...these cost billions of dollars to build.

Fashola is doing exceptionally well to be doing the little he is doing.

The city Tokyo alone spend more than 10 billion on infrastructure development despite having a world class infrastructure already

Serious minded governor can provide all those with real determination.

They should not wait for the federal government to do meaningful things with their lifes.

Our problem in this country is that we lack determine leaders.

Also apc (yoruba governors) are not interested in agriculture.

you just don't know how it works bro.
1.To build a 2 thousand megawatt of electricity that will enough for kano state domestic and industrial use will likely cost more than $2.billion ( from renewable source like hydro).
2.To build a dry port, you need to have a functional railway system working fully ( not the 1910 narrow gauge we currently have from lagos to kano). you need a huge investment of about $300 million.
3.Agricultural sector still need those small and medium scale industries like the textile, groundnut processing, fruit juice, rice milling industries etc. you need farm implement, you need to educate the local farmer about new farm implement, you need to encourage mechanized agriculture etc.
All these are the sole responsibility of the federal government

You know, the core northerner's leaders are the most irresponsible leaders in the country.

But I read sometimes ago that their present governor went to lagos with some of his officials to learn one thing or the other to boost their IGR.
Kano will be able to generate more revenue if agro-allied industries industries, agriculture and more commerce can be encouraged.
All these are down to investment in power, road, rail and dry port. Federal government need to provide most of of these infrastructures in the first place and kano govt need to invest wisely in human capital starting with the abolition of the almajiri system etc.

Katsina N103 billion,
Oyo N100 billion,
Kaduna N 97 billion
Borno N94 billion.

South western state and Northern states need to do more to diversify there economy.
Economic block comprising south south western states like Lagos, ondo, Oyo,Ogun, ekiti and Osun can increase trade among them self self
The same can be said about North western and central states like kwara, Niger, Kaduna, kogi, Kaduna, Kano, katsina, kebi, Zamfara etc.
with a dry port in jos, kano and kaduna... then this states can be self sufficient and generates a lot revenue which will make them self sufficient

The allocations are as follows:
Akwa Ibom N260 billion,
With annual allocation of about 2 billion US dollars what has the government of Akwa ibom done with all the money giving to the sate?
more than 70% of her population live below line, more than 70% of her population lacks access to basic infrastructure s like pipe borne water, electricity, sewage system, good education etc.

Do you know ho many could have been lift out of poverty if the this money is judiciously utilized?
Reason why i hate democracy. I believe, Democracy is a system which allows mediocre, mentally challenged people with very low IQ, ethnically biased mind to vote fools like Janathan into position of authority.

tomakint:
The diversification of the economy by the Jonathan-led government will on the longrun absolve us from this impending economic challenge, however, it is high time Nigerians started to listen to Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, she is really an Amazon. Nigeria will flourish no matter the scheming of the enemies within. By the way, where is kettykin, Frank-C, taharqa, when you need them?
What diversification are you talking about?
Crude oil still account for about 96% of our total government earning
recurrent expenditures still account for about 76% of budget
The clueless Jonathan still condoles corruption, stealing and Nepotism

To diversify the economy you need more investment in infrastructure like rail way network linking all the major cities in all Nigeria states
You need to generate enough electricity to support small scale- medium scale industries
you need have a strong financial sector that can lend money to small and medium scale entrepreneurs at a low interest rate
you need a strong engineering and technical educations comparable the level achieved in the west.

How many of the aforementioned has clueless jomathan been able to put in place?
we seriously need a change of government to save this beautiful country.

Long live the federal republic of Nigeria Long live Buhari- Fashola..... SAI BUHARI

RETAINING WALL BILL PREPARATION
Area of cross-section=(0.45 x 1.05)+ (0.15 x 0.9)+(0.3 x 0.45)= 0.7425m^2
Volume of concrete=0.7425 x perimeter
=0.7425 x 70=51.975m^3
Allowing 25% for wastage and shrinkage
=1.25(51.975)=65m^3

Using a mix ratio of 1∶2∶4
Part of cement = (1 x 65)/7 =9.3m^3
Part of sand = (2 x 65)/7 =18.6m^3
Part of gravel = (4 x 65)/7 =37.2m^3
QUANTITY OF MATERIALS
Quantity of cement
Qcement=M_cement,Density of cement= (Mass of cement)/(volume of cement)
M_cement =Density x volume of cement =1506 x 9.3=14005kg
since,1 bag of cement is 50kg
No.of bags of cement= 14005.8/50=281bags (approximately)
Quantity of sand
since,1m^3 of sharp sand=1.6 tonnes
i,e 18.6m^3 =18.6 x 1.6=30tonnes
Quantity of sand
since,1m^3 of gravel=1.9 tonnes
i,e 37.2m^3 =37.2 x 1.9=71tonnes

REINFORCEMENT QUANTITY
Total length of the main bar=350+200+600+1000+350+200+850=3550mm
Spacing the main reinforcement @ 250mm c/ c
No.of vertical bar=perimeter/spacing=280 bars
Length of bars=280 x 3.55=994m
since,the length of 1 bar=12m
No of bars= 994/4 =82 bars
Allowance of 20%=1.2 (82)= 100 bars

Distribution bars using Y10 spaced @ 300mm c/c
Length of main bar=3.55m
No.of bar in a row=3,550/300=12 bars
perimeter of retaining walls=70m
total number of bars= (70 x 12)/10.8=708 bars
allowance of 25% =1.2(708)= 850 bars
since,Y10 (133 pieces) per tonne
since,Y12 (93 pieces) per tonne

Quantity of reinforcement
100 pieces of Y12=1.1tonnes
708 pieces of Y10= 708/133=5.5 tonnes
