Kano — Over N1 billion has been spent by the Kano State government on Kano/Niger Republic Bilingual College in Niamey, Governor Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso has said. The money, Kwankwaso said was expended in building students' hostel, multipurpose hall, kitchen, staff quarters, clinic and wall fencing of the college.
Speaking during a farewell ceremony for the first batch of 101 secondary school students to Niger Republic, he said the money was the counterpart fund of the state for the joint project. The state government, according to a statement by the governor's media aide, Mallam Halilu Dantiye, provided a bus, a pick up van, two sets of uniforms for each of the pioneer 200 students and English teachers.
He added that the Nigerien authorities provided land for the project, in addition to running the school. The idea for the establishment of the college, according to Governor Kwankwaso, was to consolidate bilateral relations between the state and the Niger Republic, expose Kano children to French language as well as create unlimited opportunities for them in French and English speaking countries.
"With an annual increment of 200 students, 100 from Niger and 100 from Kano, it is our vision that in six years when the college will graduate these very students, they will have a population of 1,400 students", the governor said.
According to him, the govern-ments of Kano and Niger Republic will take full responsibility of the scholarship of the students.
In his remarks, President Muhammadou Yousoufou of Niger Republic, represented by the country's Minister of Education, Madam Maryam Alhadji Ibrahim, said the partnership will bring about greater unity and reinforce the existing relationship between the two countries. The OP is a known liar. |

Politics › Re: Lai Muhammed Defends Oshiomole On Edo Widow Statement. "Go And Die" by abes(m): 5:12pm On Nov 30, 2013 |
el bin manny: The interim publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lai Mohammed, has come to the rescue of the Edo state Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, who is currently the object of a public outcry following his remarks asking a widow to ‘go and die.’
Recently, a video which showed the governor ordering the seizure of some goods belonging to a resident of the state, who was allegedly a road side hawker, caused a furore on social media which was reported in the dailies.
Governor Oshiomhole had asked that the woman’s goods be confiscated for breaking traffic laws but upon hearing her pleas for mercy on grounds that she was a widow, the Governor said “you are a widow, go and die.”
This statement caused a backlash from citizens both within and outside Nigeria.
Commenting on this while speaking on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise, on Saturday, Mr Mohammed said “running a state is not about popularity but about doing the right thing.”
“In doing so, you are probably going to step on certain toes,” he said, adding that his experience in government gives him knowledge that harsh decisions will be taken.
Asked if the Governor’s comment was justified, he said, “No. I’m just saying that in some circumstances, you take decisions which are very unpleasant.”
Source : Channel News I watched the clip, he answered 'NO' when he was asked whether the comment made by the governor is justified. |

IBB has gotten part of his own reward because Maryam who stole with him and who did not advise him against looting the treasury has been taken away by death. Augustus Aikhiomu who also stole with IBB has been taken away by prostrate cancer. Jonathan lost his half brother, Dame Sheppopotamus lost her adopted mother to the road her husband refused to fix. All those that turned our youths to kidnappers, yahoo-yahoo and armed robbers shall be rewarded. Abdulsalami and Akhigbe shared all oil blocks among themselves, Obasanjo had to cancel the allocation and re-allocated to himself (Obasanjo) and his co-looters. Obasanjo and Abdulsalami just bought Ikeja and Lagos distribution zones of PHCN using our stolen wealth, how much is the total of their life savings as military officers and ex-presidents that can now afford to buy PHCN? All those that are sucking the masses blood through looting of the common wealth shall be rewarded. Sanni Abacha, Wada Nas, Stella Obasanjo, Segun Agagu, Sola Saraki, Fashola's father, Yisa Yuguda's sister, Patrick Azazi Owoye and others are gone, we are expecting other looters including Tinubu, IBB, Abdulsalami, Obasanjo, TY Danjuma, Jerimiah Oseni, Gbenga Daniel, Alao-Akala, DSP Alams, Joshua Dariye, Sani Yerima, the C-in-C (I no mention name oo), Theodora Orji, Segun Oni, Abubakar Audu, Stella Oduah and others to DO THE NEEDFUL by adding RIP to their names as God commands.

The summary of what he said: 1. For as long as we remain Nigerians, the oil in Bayelsa also belongs to Jigawa 2. It is true we are all different people, Fulani, Ijaw, Yoruba, etc but as at today, we are all Nigerians, the oil in Bayelsa also belongs to Jigawa. 3. I don't mind if we all go our separate ways, then we'll agree that bayelsa oil only belong to bayelsa, but as at today that we are still Nigerians, the oil in Bayelsa belongs to Jigawa.
I think the guy is 100% right. Also the Fulani man is also interested in the option of separation. |

tomakint: You are not smart, how come the State government is spending a whopping 8.4 billion on textbooks in the first place, this should be of concern to you and I hope you know that the cost at which those 'Opon Imo Tablets' were procured was never disclosed and this is what 'controversy' has revealed to us here. Below is your quoted source;
The State of Osun on Monday took a giant step in its effort to tackle mass illiteracy and ease learning process in senior secondary schools across the state with the launch of Opon Imo.
Opon Imo also known as the tablet of knowledge is an e-learning device, the first if its kind in Nigeria provided by the state government to equip students with knowledge and make it easier for them to pass school leaving certificates examination.
According to the Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf ARegbesola, the journey of the electronic device adapted for education purpose, was conceived in 2011.
He revealed that Opon Imo specifically meant for senior secondary students, will help ease the challenge of external examination and it will also save the state about N8.4 billion annually in textbook procurement costs.
The Governor also stated that the device will ease the students of carrying loaded backpacks of books which according to research result in back pains for the students.
Opon Imo is a standalone, educational, multimedia e-learning content platform that comes with pre-loaded applications for WAEC and JAMB approved text books. You can open a new thread for that discussion. I only stopped the lies before it becomes true. |
