There is this neighbor of mine, hes a bachelor and lives on my street. Few houses from mine. Hes a nice man, has a reasonable job, hes responsible, and good looking in his late 30s. We greet each other, have small talks as friends. He sat close to me and was now going Into long story of how hes planning to move down to a serene area in ikorodu, he has gotten a three bedroom flat, all tiled amd spacious. I was like wow! So u are moving to ikorodu? Are u not scared with badoo and the killings there?

Few years back, I think when Abubakar the retired IG was at Zone 2 Lagos , a police officer was discussing with one man and because the woman was in a hurry he wanted to give the officer money for lunch ,I think they were friend .The policeman objected and said the whole Zone 2 is covered with CCTV and someone was Manning it 24/7 and they will take it as bribe only to be summon for explanation.
If the airport is wired completely and outsource to a private company to manage, documents and report ,the nonsense will stop .
It is very embarrassing when I pass through the place looking at how foreigners are shamelessly stressed and literally extorted. The immigration, airport officials and even the airline officials will find one or two excuse to make your little stay at the airport a hell on Earth .

Well they are allowed to .there is a requirement to not carry xyz ltr of fluid into the hold of an airline . Every frequent traveler knows this.put it in your check in bag .

It is the most crowded Airport in my experiences, the prying eyes and busybodies waiting to latch on to your purse forcefully by all gimmicks

They beggarly initiate all method of trickery to collect bribe from travelers

The lack of CCTV surveillance camera is one major reason the attending offices are the more brazen,

they practically beg for money and threaten you if you refuse to grease their corrupt palms

You wonder why Government workers are so bold to Beg for money in an international airport

They search your Bags with bare hands and look for what is not lost, whereas other countries of the world would pass your bags through a search machine to spot items not fit for travel

Nigerian Airport workers practically search your bag in attempts to find anything for which they can collect bribe from you even your underwaer

I am just wondering, Any Nairalander who have experienced this brazen thievery by employed and unemployed loiters at the Airport

The Nigerian government is pretending and acting as if bribe does not happen at the airport Or else, something should have been done to stem this shameful acts of international embarrassment

It is worst when u av virgin passport..I had d experience in June...2017..I thought it was a normal thin until I got to Doha Qatar Jk in New York...I felt bad as a Nigerian cos it is an indication of level of corruption in our Country...Rebranding should start from Our International Air Port!!

​The Senator representing Kaduna Central constituency at the National Assembly, Shehu Sani has thrown his weight behind the commencement of the indefinite nationwide industrial action by members of Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

Shehu, who took to his Facebook page, on Monday urged the executive to meet up with the demands of the body.

He wrote: “First, I wholeheartedly support ASUU strike. Secondly, I call on the executive to dialogue and meet up the demands of the Union.

“Thirdly, the need to declare emergency on the state of public universities, polytechnic and colleges of education is now.”

DAILY POST had earlier reported that ASUU’s national President, Dr. Biodun Ogunyemi, had during a meeting of the National Executive Council of ASUU in Abuja announced the commencement of a nationwide industrial action.

Ogunyemi said that during the strike, there shall be no teaching, no examination and no attendance of statutory meetings of any kind in any of the union branches across the country.

A locally fabricated revolver pistol with five (5) rounds of live ammunition, knives, six (6) handsets and assorted charms were recovered from them. Further investigation led to the arrests of Chimezie Ekeke 28yrs, Sonter Joshua 15yrs and Hashimu Abdullahi 27yrs all male of Awe Street and Logo 1 areas of Makurdi.
