Come on! That's called colllateral damage or friendly fire. Ask the Americans in Desert Storm. They smoked each other like peace pipes and had to resort to "enquiries" to figure out how their best friends died. For sure it wasn't Saddam Husein's Revolutionary Guards that killed them, but instead Michael from Texas.

There are some aspects of Israelis I don't like, but I'd pick them to be on my team any day. Name any adverse historical action Israelis have taken against black Africa. I bet you can't find any.

What else could he have been doing there? Have you ever been to the West Bank? They are mad poor. There is absolutely no way he could have just been on vacation with wife and kids in expensive DUBAI.

He was in Dubai to buy arms meant to kill Israelis.

He deserved it. Don't forget brothers and sisters, it was Arabs that participated heavily in the black African slave tradem. Fukk'em!

Someone beat me to the question -- why couldn't he invest (even just a quarter of that money) in NIGERIA?

It seems Nigerians are looking for a new homeland instead of fixing up what they got.

He could have acquired Murtala Muhammed at bargain price and done a lot with it for profit.

Nonsense! Abuja this, Abuja that. Meanwhile, 99 percent of your folks don't even live in that fake city. This ICT gimmick, tell me, how does that translate to the poor farmer who lives under N150 a day and can't spell "electricity" or "computer"? Who are your leaders fooling? My advice to Nigeria -- start with the basics, and everything else will fall into place.

PoliticsSecond Highest Donor To Haiti, Based On GDP, is Nigeria by Abrantie(op): 11:41am On Feb 08, 2010
Oops!,  not Nigeria, but GHANA!

Ghana is second highest donor to Haiti
-------------------------------------------------

Ghana has been noted as the second highest donor to Haiti after Guyana based on donor countries' Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Details of financial aid and other assistance to the people of Haiti being tracked by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) which was released recently by the Data Blog, which is hosted on the UK Guardian newspapers' website and sourced to Relief Web has shown that contributions captured as at January 24, 2010 shows Guyana as the 'most generous' country in terms of its financial pledges when measured against the country's GDP. The report indicated that Guyana is the third poorest country in the hemisphere, after Haiti and Nicaragua.

Haiti suffered a destructive earthquake recently which killed several thousands and injured many citizens leaving its people in distress needing help very badly.

Ghana made a donation of $3 million to the government and people of Haiti. The country also gave some cocoa products and medication.

Some Ghanaian organizations including musicians are also making efforts to raise money and relief items to help the people of Haiti. A Ghanaian charity, the Caring Kids International has launched a fundraising effort to raise $1 million for Haiti. On Saturday a representative of the group, a student, Len Kessie arrived in Haiti as part of the group's efforts.

According to the released data the Guyana National Committee for Haiti Relief has raised close to $260 million.

A report by the Stabroek News said after Guyana and Ghana, Canada was third, followed by Sweden, Estonia, Denmark, Spain, Finland, Norway and Australia. The US was ranked as the country which has pledged the most cash to Haiti with a total of $168 million followed by Canada $131 million, Spain $45 million, UK $32 million, France $31M million, Sweden $23 million, Germany $20 million, Brazil $15 million, Australia $14 million and China $13 million.

Meanwhile, pressure is being mounted on Haiti's creditors to write off the country's debts.

Gbawe & Co, how would you explain that? What excuse would you come up with to protect the Giant of Africa?
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 9:41pm On Feb 06, 2010
"Bitter Leaf Party" is a figure of speech. I guess you're not really Nigerian either.
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 9:28pm On Feb 06, 2010
Hey, I'm not denying Nigerian influence in Ghana. I'm merely saying it's not a bitter leaf party as you guys try to make it seem.
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 5:37pm On Feb 06, 2010
Did you read the whole article? It's not even flattering to Nigerians. Besides, it's an opinion piece, and if that were posted on Ghanaweb, you'd get a lot of counter arguments. Actually, bits of the article sounds a lot like a few posts made earlier in this thread. So I'll conclude that's where you all got your info on Ghana trends from.

Well, I'm on ground zero, and do not see the level of Nigeriamania that Gbawe & co, including the author raves about. The author's name doesn't even sound Ghanaian but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Addendum: American music is played in every corner of the world, including MEXICO!
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 4:44pm On Feb 06, 2010
Why don't you just post the article, I am online on my phone so it's not convenient to bounce around.

Look, your argument is akin to the US gloating over American music being played in Mexico. Or Congolese thumping their chests because some Kenyans like Soukous music.

It's human nature to always yearn for a place just like home but better. For Nigerians, that place is little old Ghana. However it will forever remain a wish, because we are never going to be your annex.
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 2:47pm On Feb 06, 2010
Absolutely nonsense keeps eminating from these loud, obnoxious and fake American-wannabes. So because some nightclub pr0stitutes and hoochies  know a few Nigerian artistes' songs, you take it as wholesale adoption of your failed society. Secondly, how many Ghanaians go to night clubs on a regular basis? Even the fact that some radio stations may occasionaly play Nigeria originated music, doesn't mean the majority of Ghanaians are tuned to those stations.

Ask an average Ghanaian on the street or barber shop if they know who the fvkk Wande Coal is, and 97 percent of the time, the answer would be a resounding "hah? who? what?". Now ask them  if they've heard the name Asem, Ayigbe Edem, Okyeame Kwame or Bradez and the majority would say yes.

Why are Nigerians so excited that Ghana, also an anglophone country, who's just two doors down, plays music that has originated from them? Aren't you supposed to be the "Giant of Africa" and with several bogus music awards to prove it? May be you are all just looking for something positive, in light of all the negativity coming out of the cesspool called Nigeria. If Ghana giving Nigerian artistes air time helps, we're glad to have contributed to the upliftment of a down trodden people.
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 10:55pm On Feb 04, 2010
You really want me to read all that nonsense about some bogus MTV Africa awards to prove that "Nigerian music" is dominant in Ghana? Oh, why is Alicia Keyes in the lineup, but not a gazillion of other US stars? She must be Nigerian I suppose. Believe me, Ghanaians don't follow all that nonsense. We love our High Life, Hip Life, Reggae, R&B, Country & Western, Hip Hop & Rock regardless of nationalities of the artistes. Nigerians just feel so gratified and exalted that we've included their stars in our playlist.
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 9:00pm On Feb 04, 2010
There isn't a damn thing called Nigerian music! All that you have left right now are a group of wannabes trying to emulate Americana. All those silly names spouted off by switch47 sounds so ridiculous, especially if read out loud by someone who has never heard of them. Honestly, most Ghanaians don't know who the fvck D'banj AKA Koko master or Banky W are. If your so-called "9ja music" was so popular here, we'd all know them.

When most Nigerians visit Ghana, the place feels familiar to them (albeit without the crime and with prettier women). Aspects of Ghana reminds them of Nigeria, so they just conclude Nigerians dominate Ghana. I've had American friends visit Ghana for the first time and they too noticed and felt quite a bit of Americana, but they just took it for what it was -- diffusion of culture. Geographical boundries are merely lines on paper. Why are you surprised that music made by Nigerian artistes gets played in a Ghana night club?
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 5:36pm On Feb 04, 2010
Gbawe, I think what you meant to say was, there are a couple of Nigerian artistes with a few songs that are popular in Ghana - i.e P Square, 2Face. I've been to several clubs and they always play American R&b, Hip Hop, Reggae, Hip Life, High Life, songs from other popular African artistes. Let me guess, you probably went to a club in West Legon (a.k.a little Lagos), owned by a Nigerian, and all they played was P Square and 2Face (are there any artistes from Nigeria besides those two?).
Give it up. Nigerians try too hard to be Americans, but your horrible accents spoils it.
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 12:42am On Feb 04, 2010
Gbawe, I'm in Accra right now. It's 11:38PM local time (just came back from a night out with my woman). The only Nigerian "influence" I see are the hordes of your kinsmen who crowd the internet cafes with Ghanaian names and bad body odor. Oh, there is also a Chicken Republic and a Mr. Biggs on Spintex Road but I've yet to bump into any Ghanaian who wants to be a Nigerian. May be they don't know CR and Biggs are owned by Nigerians,  or they just don't give a fvck. Let me repeat this phrase -- delusions of grandeur.
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 2:08pm On Feb 03, 2010
It's amazing how Gbawe can spew a plethora of words, but says absolutely nothing. Nigerian pop culture of today is a failed attempt at wholesale copy of black Americana. I recently tried to watch "Idol", a version of "American Idol", produced by Nigerians, but I promptly changed the channel. It was down right depressing. When it comes to cuisine, they were even bold enough to steal our beloved Jolloff Rice, and didn't even bother to rename it. Now, they're going all out to just become Ghanaian citizens instead of stealing it piece by piece, LOL!
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 10:48pm On Feb 02, 2010
Gbawe is definitely full of himself. Now he resorts to dressmaker catalogs as proof of Nigerian business acumen. I really don't know his scientific methodology (i.e how many shops he visited), but I have several women in my family who are seamstresses and NONE of them carry catalogs with Nigerian dress models. Ivory Coast? yes, because we are immediate neighbors and local clothing fashion diffuses readily. Eastern Ivory Coast is pretty much Ghana.
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 8:45pm On Feb 02, 2010
Nigerians, in general, suffer from what's known as delusion of grandeur.

delusion of gran·deur (grănˈjər, -jo͝orˌ)
noun: A delusion in which one believes oneself possessed of great importance, power, wealth, intellect, or ability.
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 2:47pm On Feb 02, 2010
Ok, Nigeria is our saviour. Ghana is nothing without your investments. Are you happy now? or did I forget to add "giant of Africa" somewhere?

One last thing. While you're all busy running to Ghana to save our economy, can you just please fix your roads first? IDIOTS!
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 9:55pm On Feb 01, 2010
kawazaki,

YES!

We are not Europe or UAE. In 2010 and foreseeable Ghanaian future, SAT-3/WASC has enough bandwidth to meet our external telecom needs. Ok, let me spell it out. What's needed right now in most African countries, including Nigeria, is basic INTERNAL infrastructure. If we get that squared away, then we can talk about how to download p0rn at light speeds from US & UK.
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 9:39pm On Feb 01, 2010
This means, GLO-1 is redundant for both countries. Ghana doesn't need GLO-1, and I'm sure Nigeria doesn't need it either. It's being done merely for bragging rights and as if a Nigeria company is bringing fiber connection to the cave people of Ghana. Why don't you use the money to help alleviate Nigeria's power problems? How about a private power company to compete with NEPA? Hellohuh!
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 9:20pm On Feb 01, 2010
Gbawe,

SAT-3/WASC or South Atlantic 3/West Africa Submarine Cable has been around for years now. It runs from South Africa, through Ghana (a few miles out in the Gulf of Guinea) to Portugal! Sorry Mate, I think Glo is merely tapping into this fiber to extend it to Nigeria. Ghana Telecom (now Vodafone) has already brought it on land and sells access to telcos in the country. That's why operators like Zain, MTN and Vodafone themselves can offer high speed, non-satellite based internet connectivity in parts of Ghana (mostly Accra). In time, fiber lines will reach other parts of the country for better accessibility.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAT-3/WASC_(cable_system)

Edit: As a matter of fact, this cable has a landing point in Lagos, so I'm not sure what Glo is doing.
SportsRe: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by Abrantie: 4:55pm On Feb 01, 2010
Gbawe & Co, your arguments are all retarded. For a country that struck it rich since nineteen effin' fifties (1950s) when most of us on this board weren't even born, y'all a disgrace to the continent. One or two Nigerians, out of friggin 150 MILLION opened a couple of fried chicken outlets in Accra, which probably employs about 10 people max (most of them Nigerians any way) and you're here bragging? Fvck off!

So Glo is coming to town huh? So what? Fvck'em. Don't mention undersea fiber cable because that shiet is already smack in our territorial waters, so more than likely, Glo bought rights from Ghana to link to it from Nigeria. In other words, we've had fiber for years now. That's why some telecos in Ghana can provide "high speed" or 3G/3.5G connectivity to the internet -- which is what I'm using right now.
