Politics / Re: El-Rufai: It Appears I Permanently Occupy The Minds Of Some People by Absan86(m): 4:27pm On Aug 23, 2023
*President Obasanjo once told El-Rufa'i thus:*

"Listen, let me tell you- you know , you have three problems. Each one of them is enough of a problem by itself , but you have all three. Your first problem is that you are very clever. People generally do not like clever people. You are clever . That alone will attract you enemies."

"But you have a second problem - your second problem is that you look clever. One look at your face and a person knows that this one is very clever, and that is a bigger problem. Look at me . In my time, I was not as clever as you are. I have gone through your grades in school. You are very bright. You got A's in high school , A's in A levels, first class honours. I did not go to University but I took my high school graduation exams a year in advance and I also got A's so I was also clever in school. But I am lucky - God gave me a not -so- clever face . People think I am stupid . So you can not look at me and know what is going on in my brain. But in your own case , you do not have that luck. You know what I do? I behave like a bushman. See what that has done to me. I am here , far smarter people than me are out there. There is nothing you can do about your face, but you can reduce the enemies you have by avoiding the the problem of being too clever."

"Your third problem - you speak clever, you act clever , you are impatient with people who are not as smart as you. You talk down to them. You do those things. So you have these these three problems... You are smart ; you look smart, talk and act smart. Many people will not like you. You must learn to look simple ,to be patient with people who can't think as fast as you . You must learn to talk less and listen more and agree even more with not -so- clever people. Unless you do that, you will continue to have problems and it is my duty to protect you, and develop you, because you are a good person..."-

Politics / Re: Nigerians’ll Soon Beg FG To Leave Them In Poverty – Shehu Sani by Absan86(m): 4:13pm On Aug 23, 2023
In 1984 they did a campaign with a song saying Andrew no check out o, Nigeria go survive.

Even before 1984 Nigerians were talking about japa and how Nigeria is dead and useless.

In the same 1984, A Dollar was about 70 Kobo, meaning the Naira had more value than the Dollar. But Nigerians were saying Nigeria is dead and over and they wanted to japa.

I don't know when we will realize that a great part of our problem is in our negative energy towards this country.

Everyday we talk about the power of words. We talk of positive affirmations and saying good things to attract good energy. But when it comes to Nigeria we expect something different.

You are cursing it, swearing for it, saying it is dead and over and finished and about to explode and sitting on a keg of gun powder and has no future and deserves running away from and you somehow still expect it to progress with all of these negative energy? Interesting.

Of recent I have had course to discuss with Bolt drivers and they are full of complains. The business is not like before, the business is dead, you will just buy fuel and you will work only fuel money. But they blocked one of them on the App and he told me things were not hard for him when his Bolt App was not blocked. Another brother of mine said at least 7k go clear for you daily. And I am wondering what people are complaining about.

I also noticed how Bolt drivers whine about repairing car and not having profit.

But when I did Bolt I made money to feed my family and I was happy while others were sad. And I did NOT frequent the mechanic.

I use to enter any and everywhere the ride took me to and from that bad spot I will get a very good and expensive ride and my ratings did not pass 4.9 out of 5 because the passengers saw my energy. I am sure it would have stayed at 5 but for the ones who put their mothers in the Bolt and at the end just click 4 star because they didn't know how the ride went. If their mother was to choose I would be sure of my 5 stars.

But the average Bolt driver is always whining about cost of parts, bad roads, Bolt percentage, passenger attitude, and in the end they go about with bad energy and don't make much because of poor ratings from riders who they gave this attitude. For me sometimes it is even the passenger that will be saying oga sorry oh, our road is bad. I don't carry my problems on my head.

Someone said fuel that used to be 120 Naira. And I asked him were you happy then? Even when it was less than 100 Naira you were still complaining about fuel price so when will you ever be happy?

Nigerians need to change our look at things. We need to learn gratitude and be able to see what we have while not being blind to what we don't have. When you look at the UK, also look at Congo, Madagascar, Malawi, and Niger.

If not we will keep the circle of complain and even our leaders will dismiss us as insatiable and we will never see good even when it is there.

Praise Nigeria for what it has and suggest ways to fix what we don't have. What is the point of aimlessly nagging about your father's house publicly on repeat? Let us do better and stop the negativity, It is suffocating the Nation!

Business / Nigerian Banks Fraud by Absan86(m): 2:47pm On Sep 05, 2018
DOCTOR OLUFUNMILAYO WROTE :

'I have lived in UK a few years now and NEVER has my bank ever charged me one penny for bank transfer.
NEVER. NOT ONCE.

I’m sorry. But that 52 naira 50kobo that Nigerian banks deduct per transaction, what exactly is it for?

Why is no one speaking out against this blatant fraud?

Next is the fraudulent “Card Maintenance Fees” by our Nigerian banks. Please how are you maintaining a card that lives in my wallet?

I have about 3-4 UK Bank Cards here. Both credit cards and debit cards.
I have NEVER paid any such thing as a “Card Maintenance Fee”.
NEVER EVER.

The Nigerian Banking Sector is unfortunately an over-bloated industry that thrives systemically on entrenched policies that terribly defrauds us Nigerians and lives on cheating the average citizen of the hard earned money that is entrusted in their care to help save and invest.

You want to send money to someone from your Nigerian bank account and you first have to plan an extra 52 naira 50kobo.

Money that is electronically sent from one Nigerian bank account to another Nigerian bank account

What exactly is the charges for?
Why is this fraud tolerated?

Someone said the charges goes to NIPOST. I want to believe it is mere trolling as it makes absolutely no sense.

Please, How is Nipost involved in an ELECTRONIC money transfer?
Did I put the money in an envelope and post it? Or what?

We deserve better.
This is systemic cruelty.

When I applied for ATM Cards in UK (both debit and credit), I was NEVER charged a penny.
The card is given free.
And “maintenance”, if there’s any such thing, is done free.

IF we never get the chance to see how things happen in other places, we won’t know we are being cheated.

When I applied for an ATM Card in Nigeria, I was charged 1,000 naira to have one.
And I’m being charged some extra regularly in the pretence of an imaginary “Card Maintenance Fees”.

This is systemic corruption and a fundamental banking fraud aimed at impoverishing us Nigerians.

Let’s do a little maths, dear friends.

According to NIBSS, as at December 2017, there was almost 65,000 daily Electronic Fund Transfers in 2017.

At 52.50 naira per transaction, that’s over 3 million naira a day.
And about 1 billion naira a year.

Should this fraud continue?'
pls share it to others...ďż˝

Foreign Affairs / Nigeria (nigga) Area... by Absan86(m): 2:23pm On Aug 28, 2016
NIGERIA (NIGGA AREA): The biggest country in Africa that the United Kingdom colonized is Nigeria. The biggest country that the United Kingdom colonized in Asia is India (which then comprised the present Pakistan and Bangladesh). When the UK came into Nigeria and India, like all other countries they colonized, they brought along their technology, religion (Christianity), and culture: names, dressing, food, language, etc. Try as hard as the British did, India rejected the British religion, names, dressing, food, and even language, but they did not reject the British technology. Today, 80.5% of Indians are Hindus; 13.4% Muslims; 2.3% Christians; 1.9% Sikhs; 0.8% Buddhists, etc. Hindi is the official language of the government of India, but English is used extensively in business and administration and has the status of a “subsidiary official language.” It is rare to find an Indian with an English name or dressed in suit. On the other hand, Nigeria embraced, to a large extent, the British religion, British culture – names, dressing, foods, and language – but rejected the British technology. The difference between the Nigerian and the Indian experiences is that while India is proud of its heritage, Nigeria takes little pride in its heritage, a situation that has affected the nationalism of Nigerians and our development as a nation. Before the advent of Christianity, the Arabs had brought Islam into Nigeria through the North. Islam also wiped away much of the culture of Northern Nigeria. Today, the North has only Sharia Courts but no Customary Courts. So from the North to the South of Nigeria, the Western World and the Eastern World have shaped our lives to be like theirs and we have lost much or all of our identity. Long after the British and Arabs left Nigeria, Nigeria has waxed strong in religion to the extent that Nigerians now set up religious branches of their home-grown churches in Europe, the Americas, Asia and other African countries. Just like the Whites brought the gospel to us, Nigerians now take the gospel back to the Whites. In Islam, we are also very vibrant to the extent that if there is a blasphemous comment against Islam in Denmark or the US, even if there is no violent reaction in Saudi Arabia, the Islamic headquarters of the world, there will be loss of lives and destruction of property in Nigeria. If the United Arab Emirates, a country with 75% Muslims, is erecting the tallest building in the world and encouraging the world to come and invest in its country by providing a friendly environment, Boko Haram ensures that the economy of the North (and by extension that of Nigeria) is crippled with bombs and bullets unless every Nigerian converts to Boko Haram’s brand of Islam. We are indeed a very religious people. Meanwhile, while we are building the biggest churches and mosques, the Indians, South Africans, Chinese, Europeans and Americans have taken over our key markets: telecoms, satellite TV, multinationals, banking, oil and gas, automobile, aviation, shopping malls, hospitality, etc. Ironically, despite our exploits in religion, we are a people with little godliness, a people without scruples. It is rare to do business with a Nigerian pastor, deacon, knight, elder, brother, sister, imam, mullah, mallam, alhaji or alhaja without the person laying landmines of bribes and deception on your path. We call it PR, facilitation fee, processing fee, transport money, financial engineering, deal, or whatever. But if it does not change hands, nothing gets done. And when it is amassed, we say it is “God’s blessings.” Some people assume that sleaze is a problem of public functionaries, but the private sector seems to be worse than the public sector these days. One would have assumed that the more churches and mosques that spring up in every nook and cranny of Nigeria, the higher the morals in our society. But it is not so. The situation is that the more religious we get, the baser we become. Our land never knew the type of bloodshed experienced from religious extremists, political desperadoes, ritual killers, armed robbers, kidnappers, internet scammers, university cultists, and lynch mobs. Life has become so cheap and brutish that everyday seems to be a bonanza. We import the petroleum that we have in abundance, rice and beans that our land can produce in abundance, and even toothpicks that primary school children can produce with little or no effort. Yet we drive the best of cars and live in the best of edifices, visit the best places in the world for holidays and use the most expensive electronic and telecoms gadgets. It is now a sign of poverty for a Nigerian to ride a saloon car. Four-wheel drive is it! Even government officials, who were known to use only Peugeot cars as official cars as a sign of modesty, have upgraded to Toyota Prado, without any iota of shame, in a country where about 70 per cent live below poverty. Private jets have become as common as cars. A nation that imports toothpicks and pins, flaunts wealth and wallows in ostentation at a time its children are trooping to Ghana, South Africa and the UK for university education and its sick people are running to India for treatment. India produces automobile and exports it to the world. India’s medical care is second to none, with even Americans and Europeans travelling to the country for medical treatment. India has joined the nuclear powers. India has launched a successful mission to the moon. Yet bicycles and tricycles are common sights in India. But in Nigeria, only the wretched of the earth ride bicycles. I have intentionally chosen to compare Nigeria with India rather than China, South Korea, Brazil, Malaysia, or Singapore, because of the similarities between India and Nigeria. But these countries were not as promising as Nigeria at the time of our independence. Some would say that our undoing is our size: the 2012 United Nations estimate puts Nigeria’s population at 166 million, while India has a population of 1.2 billion. Some would blame it on the multiplicity of ethnic groups: we have 250 ethnic groups; India has more than 2000 ethnic groups. Some would hang it on the diversity in religion: we have two major religions – Christianity and Islam; but India has many. Some would say it is because we are young as an independent nation: we have 56 years of independence; India has 65 years, while apartheid ended in South Africa only in 1994. I am a Muslim, and nothing can change me from Muslim. But I think that our country is daily sinking into religiosity to the detriment of godliness. Our land is sick and needs healing. is still a saying that is germane to our current situation. We need more godliness than religion; more work and less hope; and more action and less words. Let everyone tidy up his or her corner first and demand fervently that our leaders tidy their areas of governance. Our nation is degenerating at a fast pace and we need to save it now.

TIME TO STOP WASTEFUL SPENDING- PMB ALL THE WAY
Unconfirmed statistics shows dramatic drop in government spending during anniversary celebration when compared with the level recorded in 2015 during the stewardship of disciplined politician in person of President Muhammad Buhari.
A cursory look at the independence Anniversary expenditure for the last 4 years revealed this frightening numbers except for 2015.
2011 - N13 billion
2012 - N15 billion
2013 - N14 billion
2014 - N22 billion
2015 - N70 million
The organisers of 2015 anniversary had to work extra mile to secure the president's signature on the N70 million expenditure.
This singular act by Mr. president is a significant milestone in the change agenda he is pursuing. May the almighty Allah lead and guide my president and mentor. What a great and remarkable step!!!

APC LETTER TO PATIENCE FAKA JONATHAN

Dear Patience Faka Jonathan,

How is everything going for you and the rest of the people in Aso Rock?

I write this letter in response to your statement, "We are not conductors so we don't ask for change". I just want to tell you that in the real sense of it, bus conductors do not ask for CHANGE. It is usually the passengers who ask for CHANGE.

Your husband, Goodluck Jonathan was chosen as the driver to convey Nigerians to their destination; PDP was appointed the conductor; and the Nigerian masses were and are still the passengers. As passengers, we had paid our bus fares in 2011 using the vote currency and now, we are asking, demanding for CHANGE as we approach our destination, 2015.

Oftentimes, bus conductors do not agree to give the passengers their CHANGE easily (at least not without a fight or exchange of words ). Like the bus conductors we know, PDP does not intend to give us the CHANGE that is due us even when they know this is the right thing to do.

But we the Nigerian Masses (who live without basic amenities; who are unemployed; who do not feel secure at home and in public places; who have been designated as targets for shooting practice etc.) have decided to get our CHANGE from the conductor (PDP and Cabals).

You see the wind of change has so caught with you. This is why even you ought to vote for CHANGE.

Thanks for gathering your things as you prepare to quit Aso Rock back to Otuoke or Okrika, the choice is yours

Yours sincerely,
Lookman Alawaye Esq.

FEMI FANI-KAYODE, DIRECTOR MEDIA AND PUBLICITY - GOODLUCK CAMPAIGN ORGANIZATION SPEAKS ON PRESIDENT JONATHAN.

"As I wrote in another contribution almost one month ago, ”the problem that we have is the President himself- a President who prides himself on his own weakness and incompetence and whose love of false prophets and strange women knows no bounds and has no end. A President who is as confused and as clueless as the comic character called Chancey Gardner in the celebrated 1970's Peter Seller's Hollywood blockbuster titled ”Being There”. A President who does not understand the meaning of the word ”class” or ”honesty” and who breaks his own word consistently. A President who has abdicated his responsibilities, destroyed his own political party, divided his own country, alienated his own friends, humiliated his own mentor, abandoned his own people, brought ridicule to his own faith, cowers before his own officials, betrays his own governors, scorns the international community and BREAKS HIS SOLEMN OATH TO PROTECT AND DEFEND THE NIGERIAN PEOPLE. A President who does not even have the nerve or the guts to call to order any of the numerous Jezebels that control him.
He is the problem we have in our country today and until he resigns, is impeached or is voted out of power nothing will change and Nigeria will continue to go from bad to worse. That is what you get when you vote for a man who never wore shoes to school'.

This was FFK's Comment B4 Jonathan Made him Director of Media n Publicity, GEJ tries to buy every loud voice dat Speaks against Him But The Truth cannot be Bought.

Words once spoken......FFK cannot take Back these Words.
