Despite public outry, Fuji singers Pasuma and Portable have attended praise night event organinized by the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters in Ketu, Lagos State.

In a viral video sighted by Osun Defender, the two singers were seen at the praise night talking to each other.

Recall that the controversy arose when a promotional flyer featuring Pasuma and Portable’s participation in the church’s praise night circulated widely on social media, triggering widespread criticism from users.

Shepherd-in-charge, Olatosho Oshoffa, took to social media to address the concerns. Following discussions with the overseeing clergyman of the parish hosting the event, Oshoffa confirmed that the contentious artists would no longer be part of the scheduled celebration.

In an official statement on his Facebook page, Oshoffa reassured the Celestians, stating,

However, defying the directive of the church leadership, the two singers were spotted at the praise night while the event activities were being done.

There should always be corrective measures since preventive measures wasn't taken into place.

For God sake ...there is no problem that does not have some sort of solution...even if the solution is not 100% perfect! The canal is expected to carry a specific volume of flood water per distance....if the width has been constrained by development ..........the government should recover as much as possible by taking down fences and boys quarters........to recover the remaining volume, the owners and especially the developers maybe surcharged for the cost of increasing the depth of the canal............if the canal no longer has the required width, compensate by at least increasing depth if possible! There's very little or nothing to show that the southeast is among the big boys in Nigeria. Big boys call the shots, errand boys obey and deliver the instructions. If you cannot influence national decision politically and economically, you belong to the small boy level and therefore, nobody takes you seriously when you cry.
SE declared a sit-at-home whereby the economy of the region was shut down for 2years running YET Nigeria's economy do not suffer a bleeding, not even a scratch.
In 2021, when Kanu was extradited, Nigeria's earnings was 10trillion, compared to 11trillion in 2022 when ibos shut down their economy. This is just earnings, total revenue is far more. If SW, SS or the North shut down their economy for two months, Nigeria would have been on her knees begging. Nigeria feeds the SE, give them monthly allocation to pay workers and execute projects, the food they eat come from other regions and 99% of ibos irk their living outside SE. So, what is SE useful for?

Will somebody tell this idiot to mind his ewedu guzzling business.......Is the least powerful economy your own business......leave us with our poorest economy nah! Southwest economy is the bigger than America's economy sef....

You make good points!

The three south-east governors i have high hopes for and can see they have the capacity, desire and vision to deliver are Otti, Soludo and Mbah! Of the three, Otti has navigated the secession/Biafra/IPOB issue the best, but all three have their hearts in the right place and genuinely mean well for their people!

Besides one or two missteps, i don’t think Soludo and Mbah have done as badly in handling the Biafra issue as some suggest. After all, both have repeatedly called for the release of Mazi Kanu to help douse tension in the region, and help isolate and identify the 5th-columnists and state agents fomenting insecurity in the region just so IPOB and Mazi Kanu can be blamed! Soludo in particular has been making this call for the release of Mazi Kanu since the time of Buhari up till now, but the Buhari/Tinubu hegemonic alliance has ignored these calls! The one misstep Mbah made was to invite the murderous Nigerian security to police the protest in Enugu on the sealing of businesses that didn’t open on Mondays, in which one poor soul was shot dead! I hope he’s guided better in future, and doesn’t toe the line of some useless governor in the south-east who delights in inviting the murderous Nigerian army to murder his citizens and burn down entire villages!

Given the nature of the political-economy we are subjected to in Nigeria, south-east governors have a very delicate balancing act to manage: they try not to offend their people, who are rightfully despondent and fed up with Nigeria, while at the same time trying not to antagonise the Fulani/Yoruba hegemonic alliance that is clearly anti-Igbo and looking for any excuse to work against Igbo interests!
I concur 100%

WHAT IS GOING ON IN ANAMBRA?

HAVE WE FINALLY PACK UP THIS THREAD?

SOLUDO WAS CELEBRATING 100 DAYS IN OFFICE AND TALKING SHIT, WASTING TIME.

WE KEPT WARNING HIM TO FOCUS AND LEAVE SIMON EKPA IPOB.

LEAVE SIT AT HOME.

FROM JANUARY HE HAS 12 MONTHS LEFT TO COMPLETE HIS FIRST TENURE.

WHAT HAS HE REALLY ACHIEVED IN THAT TIME?

BUILDING LIESURE CENTRE IS A CHILD LIKE AFFAIR, NDIANAMBRA ARE GROWN UP.

I HOPE, HE KNOWS HIS FIRST TENURE HAD LEFT MUCH TO BE DESIRED.

HE IS STILL A BETTER OPTION THAN IFEANYI UBAH AND APC.

PLEASE, SOLUDO LEAVE BIAFRA AGITATION ALONE LIKE OBIANO AND FOCUS ON DELIVERING INFRASTRUCTURE.

THE AVERAGE IGBO ARE VERY UPSET WITH NIGERIA, TO GET YOURSELF INVOLVE IS TO ENSURE IGBO ON IGBO VIOLENCE WHICH IS NOT THE INTENTION OR DIRECTION.

THE PROBLEM IS MEANT TO BE US AS IGBOS UNITED AGAINST NIGERIA AND WE MUST UNITY, TO REGISTER OUR DISPLEASEURE WITH NIGERIA.

SOLUDO STAY FOCUSED ON GOVERNANCE AND LEAVE BIAFRA AGITATION.
I cannot agree more! You do not tell a child that has been constantly bullied and molested not to cry and vent! It is completely unnatural ! Dipping his hand into the murky waters of Biafra agitation was the biggest strategic error Soludo made........another tactical error Soludo made was to get lost in okpoko and those "less vital rural roads"projects he awarded!

He should have tackled insecurity without getting involved in IPOB imbroglio.....secondly he should have faced Onitsha squarely from the word go! Soludo in my view means well but he is hampered by his apparent naivety of Nigeria's tribal political environment! Otti has been able to navigate the Biafra issue well and he has not offended anybody in Abuja as well! This idea of throwing your people under the bus in order to gain Abuja favors must end! Otti having survived and rose to an executive director position in a yoruba dominated First bank seems to be more adept at this national politics thing....I still love soludo's vision and I pray he succeeds and he will succeed!

PoliticsRe: LEADERSHIP Awards: Dr Olubunmi Tunji-ojo Is Public Service Person Of The Year by Abufo: 1:51pm On Dec 12, 2023
TheRareGem1:
For finding his way into the hearts of millions of citizens for whom obtaining or renewing the Nigerian passport had become a nightmare; for his bold, extensive and exceptional reforms tackling the perennial passport booklet debacle at the Nigeria Immigration Service, in less than five weeks into his assumption of office, a stride which earned him the sobriquet “Minister Talk And Do”, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is Public Servant of the Year 2023.

Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the minister of interior, was a seasoned business executive and consultant with over 17 years of extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. He excelled particularly in project, policy and strategic management.

Riding on the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, Tunji-Ojo, whose ministry oversees the affairs of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), the Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Civil Defence, Corrections, Immigration and Fire Service Board (CDCIFB), has no doubt distinguished himself as a stellar politician and public administrator with capacity to lead others to achieve admirable results.

Despite the challenges he met on ground, Dr Tunji-Ojo has been resolute in his zeal to move the Ministry of Interior beyond the stage his predecessors left it, and break new grounds.

On his orders, NIS recorded the now celebrated record-breaking clearance of 204,332 passports backlog, which, until his directive, was a gross national crisis. It was the highest clearance ever recorded in its 60 years of existence, just within three weeks.

The 41-year-old Tunji-Ojo started his tertiary education at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, before moving to the University of North London (now London Metropolitan University) where he studied Electronics and Communication Engineering and graduated in 2005. He obtained a master’s degree in Digital Communication and Networking from the same institution in 2006.

Dr Tunji-Ojo is an accomplished business and management executive with a flourishing career in ICT and who grew to become the CEO of a leading indigenous ICT consultant company in Nigeria, Matrix IT Solutions Limited, at the age of 24. As a professional, he holds 18 professional qualifications in ICT such as Ethical Hacking and Counter Measures. He is also a certified CompTIA Network Plus engineer and a Britannia Hardware A+ Management Certificate holder, among others

Before his foray into politics, he consulted for the World Bank and several government agencies, including the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), National Health Insurance Scheme, and Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA).

However, despite the universal accolades and commendations he got for pulling off a seemingly difficult task at the NIS, the go-getter, who has brought professionalism, political sagacity and his wealth of experience from the public/private sector to bear on his new tasks, remains one of the eggheads in President Tinubu’s government that Nigerians look up to for bringing forth the radical changes expected in the new administration.

He has, among other strides, announced a two-week timeline for processing of passport applications, promised the commencement of home and office delivery of passports to applicants from February 2024, threatened to commence the execution of the principle of reciprocity in international relations by halting the visa-on-arrival privilege granted foreign nationals whose countries subject Nigerians to rigorous visa application processes, commenced personal upload of passport photographs on NIS passport application portal, as well as established more e-passport offices in Europe.

A man with the Midas’ touch, Tunji-Ojo has within two months in office led the advocacy for fair compensation for paramilitary officers, insisting that their salaries must align with those of the Nigeria Police Force personnel. He also commenced arrangements to set up a functional pension board for paramilitary personnel as a mechanism to secure their future. All this will no doubt improve staff morale and lead to greater output.

No doubt, Tunji-Ojo has proven bookmakers right — that he is more than equal to the task of reshaping the ministry of interior, elevating its role in securing the nation’s well-being, and fortifying the nation’s extensive borders.

A man of his words, Dr Tunji-Ojo again, on November 18, 2023, lived up to his promise to, within four weeks, clear fines and compensations worth N585 million for 4,068 inmates nationwide on account of their inability to pay their fines as penalties for crimes committed, all in an effort at prison decongestion.

The minister, often hailed for drawing clear targets and upholding a definitive timeline of action, is at the verge of transforming correctional homes into centres of rehabilitation rather than condemnation.

He has also within this period engaged with all relevant agencies, stakeholders and international partners to discuss critical areas of reforms to tackle illegal migration, counter organised crimes as well as out-think and stay ahead of criminals.

Between August 21 and today, the operational capacities of the NSCDC, FFS and NCoS have witnessed massive improvements on his watch.

Nobody declare and assert an ethnic nationality for himself. Ethnicities are classified using certain yardsticks. You can decide your country, your state, your zone etc but it's not within your powers to decide your ethnicity.

Austria has never had anything to do with Germany throughout history. While Germany was formeless without any recognized political leadership, Austria already joined the empire of Hungary. Austria and Hungary was together throughout history.
But, Austria was classified as a German ethnicity. They don't want to be part of Germany as a country. They had historical ties with Hungarian empire and nothing with Germany, yet, they were classified as a German tribe.
So why don't we have Austria claiming "Austrian ethnic group".
Austria has never subjected their German ethnicity any debate despite not liking the country of Germany because it's stvpid to do so. Ethnicity is beyond your power to decide for yourself. Linguistics and Anthropological factors decide ethnicities. Not history, not political choices, etc.
If your ancestors came from Benin, good for you. Other Igbos also have their ancestors coming from different places. An Ethnic group are not bound by blood relationship or one government. An Ethnic group is a group of different tribes related by language and culture and geographical contiguity.
The only way ikwerre can become an ethnicity is to eradicate all igbo cultural practices and languages. To corrupt igbo spelling is not enough, the meaning remain the same.
Bros............take a digital handshake, in fact i doff my hat for you.......you too much! Your assertion was concise as it was precise! As for the South East, Yuletide has its uniqueness. During Christmas, people only fly down to the East and rarely fly into Lagos and Abuja from the Eastern airports.

Going back to those two airports during the Yuletide means the planes fly empty and the airliners incur huge losses. Now, they are pushing the losses on the passengers. The same thing happens to buses that ply to and fro the Eastern routes from faraway distances.

SSFeedsNigeria:
I once saw data from the 1960’s that showed how the old Eastern region (comprising the entire SE with Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Cross River) was the fastest growing economy in Nigeria, and among the fastest in the world. The region was registering new businesses far more than Western and northern regions combined! Then the civil war happened in 1967-70 and that momentum was lost. The region turned into a sorry state. New centers of growth and investments shifted to Lagos/Oyo and Kano/Kaduna axis.

Infrastructure in the East decayed. Investments fled the region. Even Igbos themselves abandoned their region and instead chose to invest in the new centers of growth outside their region. Onitsha deterioted. Aba decayed. Enugu, Owerri, Nnewi, Awka, Umuahia, Abakilike etc. became glorified villages. People looked down on those that choose to remain in the East as unambitious people who don’t want to make it big in life.

From the 1980’s, 1990’s and up to early 2000’s there were constant religious riots in the North, and each time it occurred, Igbos and their investments became targets. As a result, calls for “aku ruo ulo” which loosely means “bring your investments home” became rife but unfortunately, the East was still in a very bad shape. This pushed Igbos to start making demands from their governors on infrastructure improvements. Having realized that North was no longer safe for them and their investments, Igbos began to move massively into Lagos & Abuja in the interim, along with their investments. Not long after, the aku ruo ulo calls began to yield dividends as Igbo investments began to trickle into their region.

As Igbo population & assets in Lagos spiked, Yorubas began to get uncomfortable. Then 2023 election happened & they weaponized tribalism. Several Igbo dominated markets got burnt. It was followed by the demolition of houses and plazas in Igbo dominated areas too. Just like North in the previous years, Igbos also realized that Lagos isn’t safe for them and their investments too.

Almost same situation that occurred in the North in the years prior to 2000, is now occurring in the West. The period Igbos began to abandon North coincided with its economic collapse. I’m not saying that North collapsed economically because Igbos abandoned it but several other factors added to it.

Now, calls for Igbos to divest away from Lagos region is happening at a period foreign investors are also abandoning the region. Lagos/SW loss now becomes SE gain as investments are now pouring into the East in an unprecedented manner. What makes it more remarkable is that SE is rising when other regions are stagnating or even regressing.

Just like in the 1960’s when the civil war truncated the rise of the East, Igbos should avoid history repeating itself. You can make IPOB or ESN your pressure group but never escalate things to unmanageable crises level.

Another good thing is that Nigeria is finally being restructured without many being aware. The North may or may not be aware that Nigeria is being restructured against their age long hindrance to it. However, there is little or nothing they can do to stop it. Fuel subsidy removal, unbundling of power generation and distribution, removal of certain things from the exclusive list etc are restructuring that will make regions grow at their own pace. This is the opportunity Igbos need to roar back like the Asian Tigers and it is gratifying to note that the prognosis indicate positive signs. Aba, Onitsha and Nnewi are back on track. SME’s and manufacturing in the SE is thriving once again.

Unfortunately for the northern region, they failed to invest in Human Resources. If Tinubu sustains the covert restructuring, the region is likely to collapse further without new investments and rising insecurity. With foreign investors also fleeing Lagos region & Igbos doing same, the SE is now poised to become the new axis of growth in Nigeria. Also, with AFTCA now in place, Lagos no longer has locational advantage like in the past, when ECOWAS was the trading region. Now, the entire Africa is, and SE is well positioned between West and Central Africa.

Igbos can truly achieve their mission even within a dysfunctional BUT DECENTRALIZED Nigeria.
The only SE Governor that is aware of what you posted and is WILLING to do the needful to prepare ground for Igbo investment is probably Otti In Abia state! Soludo knows wetin dey but has his badly hidden presidency ambition distracting him! The SE governors are a big problem for the Igbo people!
