SleekFullah: Oh dear... So sorry to hear about your wife... I came in through the dreaded Houston POE but for me honestly it was a breeze! I shared my POE experience and for the sake of others who are still back home and preparing to join us here I will just say a thing a two. Firstly please travel with enough cash... Show them the hard currency... Yeah I know some have travelled with less and scaled through but you never can tell when or who would be randomly picked so it is safe to be prepared at all times. I came in with PLENTY cash that I was even advised to stop moving with that much cash! I had to open an account... And asides my cash I still had bank statements and my debit cards on me. The CBPs ain't smiling except in very rare cases... Plus some Nigerians have carved a negative niche for us so... I have met Nigerian women here who live in the UK and are also here to birth their babies and they express shock when they hear such stories because they've never experienced it... Some are here to have their second/third babies. Also please whatever you have on your forms during your visa interview shouldn't be changed simply because your visa's been granted... Please leave all of your information intact.... The transcript is sent ahead of you to the US so of course CBP expects to hear the same answers you gave VO... I told y'all about how the CBP who stamped me in asked me the exact same questions the VO asked me 3months ago. If you decide to change accommodation, doctor, hospital etc wait until you've been cleared at POE then you can go ahead to change... Don't tell them A in naija then you appear at POE and say B... Yeah it has worked for some and is still working for others but you never know what the outcome of yours will be so it is better to be prepared at all times... As for the issue of documents please like two weeks to travel get a file, pack all of your documents in it and put it in the box you're travelling with... That way you won't forget anything... On the day of departure when you arrive the airport before you leave the car, open your box, get out the important docs you'll need at POE, fold and put in your handbag.... That's what I did because I have read from part1 of this forum and I read different, different, kinda stories. I wish everyone who is going for interview best of luck.... And for those who have been granted but are yet to receive their passports due to one glitch or the other, it will all end in praise. If you told them at the embassy you were staying in Dallas, you went for 1 month vacation. Then decided to give birth In Houston a year after the embassy interview and the 1 month vacation in Dallas, is that an issue? Abi dem expect you to always stay in Dallas any time you are in America? |

I expanded to making SK with some secret concoction and made millions doing that so I left nigeria to the United States where I married a white lady, finished engineering degree, got my citizenship recently and I am not working in an oil company. Most other people that started like me are now junkies or dead but I planned well. I love my life, enjoy my money, am now totally clean and don't sell drugs anymore. Thanks the almighty for my life. PHOOMI: Pls house don't mind my too many questions, I read somewhere that the immigration officers at MMA might decide to frustrate a first time traveller even make d person miss his flight, some terrible tales. Pls is the situation still same or its better now, nd also any advice for a first time traveler on how to handle the officers. Thanks. Missed my flight first time I travelled to SA because of those useless Immigration people. But on my flight to Yankee, it was a breeze through. For your first time, check in early and do immigration clearance early so no matter the delay based on "first timer" , you would be through with them before your flight takes off. |

TWoods: Your post made no sense, and I will not engage it again after this. her post was straightforward enough - it's not unusual to expect that your approved visa will be issued in the 2-3 working day period.
What does anything she said have to do with a pregnancy? Too often people post, not because they have anything intelligent to offer, but simply to be seen. Oga go and sit down jare. Who talked about pregnancy? The rate you "Jump" into conclusions that everybody here is lying, you might as well represent Nigeria in the next Olympics as a long jumper cos you sure know how to quickly "Jump" into conclusions! *drops microphone * |

hebrewoman2014: Please how long does it take an approved visa to be issued after interview in Lagos? Mine was approved last Friday and I was told to pick it up by Wednesday this week by the person who interviewed me. It's still saying its with the consulate and I've booked my trip for this weekend already. It only takes about 2 days in Abuja, this is almost a week! And Monday and Tuesday are public holidays. Does anyone know how I can fast track it or if this is even possible. The way the guy said pick up on Wednesday I didn't think it was possible it might not be ready o Wonders shall never End... You dont have to sound like everyone is a fraud or again maybe im just sensitive and that was not what you meant. My exact thoughts... Why does Twoods think everybody is lying? His usual rude responses are getting tiring. @Twoods can you please ignore people you think are lying than wasting comment space with your usual sarcastic responses. |

Here's my traveling and POE experience I left Nigeria on the 1St of June via Qatar..bought my return ticket #360k....take off time was meant to be 2:15pm but was delayed by an HR...I was asked to go to port health for a test which I did and paid #1500. Flight was smooth to Doha..was suppose to have a 2HR stop over at Doha but we didn't spend up to 45min before we boarded for new york.I only showed port health certificate during check in at Doha...no cbp approached me...flight to JFK NY was very smooth and long..on arrival I did my self service afterwards queued ...the queue wasn't that long and there were just 2 cbp officers 1 American man and 1 chinko man..the American was just passing everyone without too many questions but the chinko spent more than 10mins with each person..so while I was praying not to go to the chinko ll and behold twas my turn to face the chinko guy...
Me: Good morning Chinko: no response Then I gave him my passport Chinko: why are you here Me: vacation and childbirth Chinko: really! We both laughed and that was it. My egusi was seized cos twasnt blended...that was all.. Please how did you go about the cheap Qatar ticket? How long ago did you book the ticket? dustmalik: I don't think cancel is the right word. NCC merely suspended the increment, pending the so-called further phantom consultations with stakeholders. The price increment will eventually be implemented. If Nigerians let them naa...they have seen the effect. fear no go let them. Even Buhari and his top security guys know that the people have been pushed to the wall, na small thing go cause the revolution. well done Nigerians, there was no APC or PDP in this "no data hike protest". Revolution start from small protests which then grows into National problem. You think Buhari does not get daily briefing on security issues? the security Ogas go don tell Baba, "these NCC people want to scatter your government ooh". Baba go carry Phone call NCC boss "i heard you want to swatter my goberment, if i dont rebert vack to za vomer frice, i will call za DSS to come after you". Who born NCC Boss not to release press statement sharply say No price increase again. the issue has died a natural death. |
Phones › Re: GSM Companies To Increase Data Rate by Abuleoshi(op): 7:17pm On Nov 30, 2016 |
calyto: I am not denying that i typed this. And I started by saying that your statement is mixed with truth and falsehood. I said it is mixed with falsehood because no telco will reduce data tariff to as low as 500mb for 1k when they can go as high as 1.1GB for 1k with the new floor price of .90k/mb. And what i was trying so hard to explain is that- There was a need to fix a floor price because wholesalers like Glo can push other smaller telcos out of the market which they're already doing. If Etisalat sales data for 0.94k/mb already for instance, it won't be totally correct that they'll have no choice than to increase their data tariff since the new NCC benchmark is 0.90k/mb.(Except if they're been greedy)
I also talked about job loss and what i meant is- If smaller telcos like Smile, Spectranet etc are out-muscled and pushed out of the mkt their employees will become unemployed.
And i was always trying to use Glo in my instances because they became predators and not competitors because of the advantage that they have by owning Glo-1. And lastly @Abuleoshi, if you feel that i in anyway said things that made you offended, I AM SORRY. Let's move on Not a problem cos NCC has cancelled the supposed increment. so my aim has been achieved. The whole essence of starting the thread was to inform Nigerians of the planned increase so they can protest against it. so all that starts well ends well! |
Phones › Re: GSM Companies To Increase Data Rate by Abuleoshi(op): 1:31pm On Nov 30, 2016 |
@ Calyto shebi you said it was not NCC that asked Telecos not to increase tariff ? You went on and on how Glo dis and Glo dat, see yourself now? smh |
Phones › Re: GSM Companies To Increase Data Rate by Abuleoshi(op): 1:27pm On Nov 30, 2016 |
calyto: Well, a company that already sells data @ 1GB for 1k does not need to increase data price;they could even increase it to 1.1GB @1K and still break even. The floor price is 0.90k/MB which means telcos that have been selling above the minimum price does not have any business in increasing their data tariff except if they just want to make more profit out of greed. See, this is social media;there is just no reason why you should continue to insult people you do not know.
Ok fine, i agree with you that 0.90k/MB means increase in data tariff by some telcos but you don't have to be insulting in order to make your points. Mr Man you discredited the Topic because you wanted people to think you work in the Telecoms industry. The fact you sell Recharge card in front of Glo office and hear Glo staff gist about the industry does not make you a Glo staff or Telecoms industry professional. Stick with your recharge card business than discussing issues you no nothing about!
