Having worked as an expatriate in Lagos, Eket, Pretoria and Cape coast, I can say this, the Nigerian system is designed to keep the youth down, not even a single breath of fresh air. This applies to the educated and uneducated.. This also applies to black youths back home... I've done what I can call my best, took care of strangers, my staffs, I even fell for a scam, heck I even allowed a friend send money to Nigeria knowing fully well it's a scam.. I didn't warn him.. The Consulate should hear about all this.

Having been forced to learn about Nigeria because my neighbor is Yoruba and I love her so much, having been scammed in 2008 by a Nigerian on Facebook didn't deter me from knowing about this nation.. Nigeria has quite the reputation I must say.. Where I come from, the military doesn't appear on the streets with full regalia except in times of war or a terrorist attack... In Nigeria the case is different.. Besides from all I've observed there seem to be a deliberate attack on a particular region.. I hope the president learns to balance things up and calm down tensions. I don't like what I'm hearing..

How can I comment without hurting anyone's feelings? I think historical studies is part of Nigerian issues.. President Buhari should take a clue from the Roman general Julius Caesar.. He was an army General as well as a politican. He knew how to balance the tensions. There are things you don't do especially when everywhere seems heated.. Ulysses Grant is another example.

2.... Learn the concept of time.. That Wayne buys a car doesn't mean Ryan won't buy a car.. It just didn't happen at same time.. In my little lifetime I've seen rich men become very poor and dependent on unemployment benefits and I have seen lowlives buy private jets and yatch...
3...Whatever gender you are on this earth, guard your sexuality.. Infact take this one more importantly.. So many promising futures have been destroyed by baby mamas, child support, divorce, u name it.. People have lost their lives just cos of one night stand, infact you see that shit called one night stand, flee.. I won't start going into sexual diseases etc.. Limit night outs...
4....Friends/family: As important as number 3,they make/Mar you.. The reasons are numerous to begin with, let your imagination create the lessons.
5....Learn to accept failures for they as good as success.. Do you know you can use just 2 years to build what others used 20 years to achieve?? And I also mean medical failure, your body might be failing, you might find yourself in a wheel chair, cry and smile and don't whallow in self pity.. Some artist leave good labels simply because of greed. They think the record labels do not deserve the percentage they earn from the music and shows the artist are putting out.

Yes, some record label can be wicked, but a lot goes into it. They arrange your producers, push your music, do deals for you and some of them know the right persons because they have been in the industry for long. Imagine you want to perform in a big show- Don jazzy can arrange that with just a call. Some artist simply don't get it. Until you have the right connections, have become really big and have built a solid structure. Leaving a good record label is not a good idea.


You may think they are eating too much from you, but what you may make on your own without them may be less than what you get after they have removed their cut.
