Not true. Mr Biggs brand is still owned by UAC restaurants, a subsidiary of UACN PLC Nomyth: |
The current Boeing 747 airplane used by the US president is aged 37 years (as it first flew on May 16, 1987), while the Boeing 737NG used by the Nigerian president is only aged approx 19 years (as it was delivered on July 14, 2005). That's a substantial plus or minus 18 years difference and that Boeing 737 isn't the only aircraft the Nigerian president flies, yet it is only of recent that the US started working on replacing its presidential jet. Talk about prudent management of scarce resources Putindbutt: |
A Federal high court ruled against the banishment of Sanusi from Kano by Ganduje, to the extent of awarding compensations. Not defending Ado Bayero, but you have to understand that there is a judicial precedent which makes it impracticable. Tripitaka: |
That’s a proportional response to Hezbollah’s relentless rocket attacks against northern Israel in the past few days. |
A rickety Dornier 228 is the best aircraft the Malawian government could provide for the transportation of the Vice president? I heard a former first lady was also involved in the crash. This man was recently reinstated by a court as the VP after he was removed on corruption allegations, I fear he was surgically removed by those who didn't want him back |
Igbo kee u dia. EcoNews: |
That edifice was built with taxpayers money and for the Federal Government, so it is nowhere private. It is public property, simple. If they said it is for the sake of security, I would have understood. For the record, that edifice isn't a private residence of the VP |
It’s the best for a heterogeneous society like Nigeria RenaissanceGuy:

Eewoo! Yoruba lokan. |
Ifite road? Unizik baddies, una well done oh! |
That's some pepperoni and alkaline water meal. Big man food ![]() |
It's a Gaboon viper. Very deadly. In Igbo, it is called "echi eteka" (tomorrow is too far), which implies that the venom kills almost instantly. |
Gibberish ![]() beerfraud: |
I couldn't find AC in the extra features, let me guess it is part of the basics. Having 40 persons cramped in that small boat without air conditioning is just subpar |
We have a large population, which is ordinarily good for business, but unfortunately it is a very poor and unproductive one. We have a high number of new births daily and a lot of women of child bearing age (who needs sanitary pads) but they couldn't keep the company in business. |
Well, this is quite commendable. Although I am still of the opinion that the issue of local government should be expunged from our constitution, let the states decide which system of local administration that fits them (through legislative process, of course) |
The government of Oyo state, as a matter of urgency, must do something to improve the aerial view of Ibadan. The amount of old rusty roofs in that city is truly an eyesore. If it is by providing "roof change" incentives to property owners and giving tax breaks to roofers and aluminium roof manufacturers in the state or by making it compulsory for property owners to redevelop their structures, nothing should be off the table. |
Palestinians struck first and now they are reaping the rewards of their ill advised adventure. When you disturb a bees hive, you don’t get to dictate to the bees where they will sting you. |
You don't have money to fund diplomatic missions but you have money to spend on buying the latest bulletproof Lexus SUVs |
Is the FHC judge, Mr Liman, back in the country or is he still working remotely from the US? ![]() |
Our legislators are busy chasing shadows, while the entire country is burning. There are better areas they can work on, instead of focusing on what is and what is not the national anthem, like the unbundling of NIPOST into Nigeria postal commission (PostCom), the regulator, and the Nigerian Post limited (NIPOST Ltd), the player. It’s absurd that the current NIPOST is both a regulator and a player in the same industry. It’s oversized and consequently, inefficient. Due to the vast size of this country, the logistics sector is a potential goldmine for the country if properly harnessed. Imagine online shops like Jumia and Konga using NIPOST’s network for goods delivery, instead of spending extra money to establish their own courier network. Amazon in the US makes use of USPS for some delivery. That counts for ease of doing business. Nigerian shoppers on Aliexpress knows how annoyingly crappy NIPOST’s service is. I believe if the establishment is unbundled and the principles of New public management (NPM) introduced into running it, it will do better. This is what I want our senators and representatives to be thinking about, not frivolities. |
Another trailer load of mutters and stutters incoming. He's coming to release a newer version of his bulaba balablu virus |
First of all, the issue of kingship is not within the area of responsibility of the Federal government. It is the exclusive preserve of the states. Those that went to the FHC to get an injunction on that matter are obviously kidding. Secondly, the issue in question is already a law passed by the state house of assembly and assented to by the state governor, all of which are competent authorities according to the 1999 constitution of the Federal republic of Nigeria (as amended). Even if Tinubu decides to use federal might, there is little or nothing he can do (since the governor has the backing of the state legislature and they aren't his party members). The protesters should know better, they should go home and rest. |
That Jewelry isn’t really for the General’s wife’s use, it is just a covert means of storing illicit wealth. Classic act of money laundering |
Here’s me patiently waiting for OVER token to launch. |
Stupid Igbo boys kee you dia! Is it not your Yoruba brothers that tried to export cultism to Dubai? Neanderthals funshint: |
What's the use of a large population with very low purchasing power? Big companies only care about your money, not your population size. Till date, Playstation network (PSN) doesn't support Nigeria but does support SA, why? Does it mean we don't have a lot of PS fans in Nigeria? It's simply because of the economic situation. You can't compare the purchasing power of South Africans to that of Nigeria or are you going to compare Naira to Rands? So come down from your high horse and understand that Nigeria doesn't have that clout to order foreign investors around 2aces: |
First of all, the truck owner should be sued by the victims families for the wrongful deaths of their loved ones, while the driver is arrested and tried for criminal negligence and manslaughter. Before that, his license and blood alcohol level should be checked. Then, the government of Imo state should do something to avert such a sad occurrence in the future. If it is putting up a pedestrian bridge, constructing a motor park and stopping buses from loading by the wayside, erecting traffic lights and permanently stationing traffic managers there to help direct traffic. |
And over 70% of them are Yoruba. Lol |
As a retired crime scene investigator with over 30 years of experience, the plausible explanation for what happened here is: (a) the dog was chained to the metal guard rail (b) it tried jumping over but was caught on the neck, by the chain leash around its neck (c) no one was around to help unleash the poor dog, (d) until it suffocated due to asphyxiation. CAUSE OF DEATH: Asphyxiation due to accidental hanging. FINAL REMARK: An accident. No foul play suspected |
Let’s remove the local government from the constitution, the state assemblies should be allowed to legislate on the type of LG that fits their needs. The constitution of FRN should only recognize the federal and state governments. |
I expect the clowns in the DSS to triple the security detail of the president at the start of work tomorrow The key takeaway in this news story, for me, is that the PM is being treated within his country. If it is our beloved country, I am pretty sure he must have been flown abroad by now. |
