oduasolja: well the question is why did they feel Nigeria would better serve their interest. is it not as a result of the punishment they went under the igbos??The minorities in the former Eastern region wanted their own state. But some elites from my tribe were solidly against such move. Instead of compromizin on this simple demand. This made them to view Igbos as a force that wz intent on corralin and dominating them. Coupled with the fact that Igbos engages in aggressive competition up to the extent that the minorities within us were overwhelmed. This turned into anger and with time their anger turned into hate. This created a fertile ground for them to believe every propaganda peddled by the Northerners. While the Northerners are worse than Igbos. Your assertion above is completely inaccurate |
The fact remains that minority groups are what iz keepin Nigeria united. They are willin toolz in the hands of those that aims to keep the country united. Minorities are very scared of the breakup of this country because they know that they cannot unite to form a country of their own. Their blind patriotizm to Nigerian entity iz borne out of the fear of the unknown. They fear what will become their fate if the entity called Nigeria ceases to exist. Thatz why they are the only group that clamoured for the unitary system of government with strong centre in 1967 conference. If the fear of the minorities are not properly attended to. I don't forsee any scenario of peaceful separation |
Beaf: 26 July 1968I totally disagree with you. There has been some engagement between forces under Adekunle command and Biafran forces as early as 1967. I alwayz have problem with most info from dawodu site. I call them "hack writers". Beaf: The 3rd Marina Commando was formed AFTER Biafra had been driven back from Benin. This is another masterpiece sh1yt from that accursed site |
scopusng: She said when their efforts to take Yekini to a hospital in Oyo State failed, they sought the assistance of the then Oyo State Police Commissioner, Adisa Bolanta. scopusng: Her words: "When Yekini was brought before the CP, the football star said he was alright and even gave some money to some of the police officers present. The CP was said to have been surprised and did not know what next to do or how to assist them since Yekini appeared to be alright. That's why the psychiatric cases are the most difficult to manage. The patient behaviour and action might be irrational. But suddenly recovers his sanity at the point of intervention. I fault his relatives for not involving psychiatrist to halt the trend earlier on. scopusng: "After that we got information that Yekini went to the bank and withdraw some large sums of money, gave out some to people and spread the rest onto the air.He recoils back to his insane self as soon as he was left unmonitored. scopusng: "When we took him to the hospital, about four weeks ago not only was he mentally unstable, he was also sick.At this point in time his psychiatric condition has been complicated by other organic co-morbidities. scopusng: "We did not have money to treat him. So, we went to the bank where he had an account but unfortunately the bank said he had no more money in his account. So, we took him to the hospital and we were treating him until he died."Without money, I wonder the quality of medical attention that he recieved. Someone's guess is as good as mine. scopusng: Some people claimed that he was insane a few years earlierI subscribe to this theory. I think that his condition wz present in sub-clinical form prior to USA '94 World Cup. Only that no one noticed it or it wz overlooked. The way that he celebrated scoring his first goal at the World Cup bears some hallmark of personality derangement scopusng: others said he deliberately withdrew from people due to the sad experience he had with a close associate, who duped him of some cash.It might be possible that some fraudsters took advantage of him. This is not uncommon practice in our society. It gets worse when the person on the recieving end has some form of underlyin personality disorder. scopusng: Many also claimed that his immediate family members came to pick him from his Oni & Sons home with the claim that he was being taken to a healing home.Again, this practice is common in our society. This is why I question the quality of medical attention that he recieved in the presence of severe financial impediments. scopusng: But a close associate of the late footballer, who simply identified himself as Emmanuel, insisted that the late Yekini was sane. He explained that the footballer was duped by close business associates a few years ago, adding that the experience was so devastating to him that he decided to withdraw from people. scopusng: He said: “Some people betrayed him. That was why he stopped getting close to people. In fact, this is one of the cardinal symptoms of schizophrenia. It is called association loosenin. His mental condition wz only aggravated by his experience. scopusng: Rashidi was okay mentally. He drove himself and did everything well. Every month, he gave to widows and the needy. He was generous. He was not insane.”Many people in our society has warped view of what a psychiatric condition is. This is why it iz mostly difficult to manage in this country. |
lestat: could you please answer these question?I disagree with u. Any girl can be any man's fool provided she wz properly groomed by the man. This trait transcends appearance, status, level of education in women. BTW, women respond to their emotional self instead of rational self. Therefore Kevin is in order. His experience iz not strange to some of us. Especially if u are hot, handsome, educated with little change to throw around |

T9ksy: That's exactly how we perceive banjo leading a bunch of marauders to cause mayhem in his homeland.Banjo scuttled the campaign midway on the advice of the elders of his tribe. But scumbag elechi amadi iz still proud of his action even in his age of maturity. I will forever spit on his name. |
When I wz in secondary school in the 90s, I read one of his masterpiece'THE CONCUBINE' as part of our recommended books for our literature class. All the characters in the prose were were Igbos. In fact he has a deep understanding of Igbo culture. I can easily identify with his narration. I previously thought that it wz the work of someone from Anambra or Enugu. I never knew knew that he could brutally stab his kinsmen, and I never knew that he wz such a scumbag. |
oduasolja: I HOPE THE BIAFRANS are ready to pay for the war crimes they committed against minorities of the eastern region and midwest.Do you really know what is war crime? Watch Sri Lanka: The killing field on youtube.com to get an idea of what war crime really is. oduasolja: minorities of the east were raped and killed by biafran forces and their villages burnt down.We will be most happy if you can share with other NLer any concrete evidence backing your assertion. oduasolja: Ojukwu the power hungry tyrant forcefully appropriated their lands for his biafra republic and did not hesitate to slaughter them .Let me remind you that they are part of the former eastern region. The Eastern region of Nigeria seceeded from the union and that includes the minorities. In contrast, Gowon forcefully appropriated Yorubaland. Do you know that Awolowo sent a delegation to Gowon pleading with him to withdraw his forces and leave Yoruba territory for good? What did he do? He ordered Murtala and his band of depraved troops withdrew back and station their forces at Ilorin(which they consider northern territory). So my dear, it is Gowon that forcefully appropriated Yorubaland and occupied it with his troops against the wishes of the locals. oduasolja: thats why many of them fought for nigeria. It is on record that the minorities started to enlist into the Nigerian army en-masse after Gowon issued a decree authorizin the creation of 12 states. This is a master stroke that warmed the minorities in former eastern Nigeria to the country. In essence, minorities fought with the hope that Nigeria will better serve their interest than Biafra. It left for you to decide if their expectations were met. |

Cmanforall: Inventing? not at all.... U can call any1 u knw in NAUTH, ask him if ARD ARE ON STRIKE?In tertiary institutions like the university. The chief security officer(CSO) is the Vice Chancellor(VC), just as GEJ is the Nigeria's president as well as the Nigeria's CSO. The same applies to the tertiary health institution like UNTH, UBTH, NAUTH, etc. If there is any security breech, the CMD in his role as the CSO is the one to be questioned by the minister for health. There is no how that the minister of health will bypass the CMD and establish a direct link with the head of the security. BTW, do u know that the head of the security is answerable to the CMD? My friend, the CMD is the CSO, while the head of the security is the deputy CSO. |
Cmanforall: He spoke with the H/O, then the Resident and eventually the Chief security Officer,Are you serious?! So the CMD spoke with the House officer, the Resident and CSO in that order? The order is supposed to be the consultant(head of the team), the resident, H/O. This is a very serious breech in protocol. Did he speak with the consultant heading the team? BTW, what do u mean by the chief security officer(CSO)? Do u mean deputy CSO? Aint the CMD the CSO of NAUTH? This your story will make a Nollywood blockbuster. Either the CMD is drunk on unrefined local gin OR you invented this story. |
seleroms: Dont mind some bloody doctors all hell will be on the H/O on duty this morning in UBTH after i bury my mum tomorrow who they killed due to their negligence. They forgot imagine to administer some drugs. I am in the field and know how to tackle them, heads will roll no doubt. A/E is supposed to have quick response, keen and vigilant hands but the reverse is the case most of the timeYou have every right to to seek redress in the court of law. But the use of expletive on doctors is completely wrong. You can never understand the dilemma doctors pass through in the management of patients except you are in the profession. The onus is on you and your attorneys to prove that there was an incidence of gross negligence in the management of your mum. My sympathy for your loss |
naijaking1: How did he become CMD without understanding the pathophysiology of intracranial trauma? He must have purchased his certificate from Ochanja market and then bribed his way into the CMD position. Cry thy beloved nation!lol Surgeon Naijaking1, you no go murder me with laff. I guess he purchased his certificate from Nkwo Nnewi |
Cmanforall: not investigating properly, settingup a committee to do so b4 giving an arrest order is among d Reason Resident Doctors are now on strike...I find it difficult to understand the rationale behind the action of the CMD. His action shows that he lacks faith in the competence of his doctors. If this gist eventually turns out to be true. He's gonna have a serious trust issues with ARD. In fact, he is incapable of piloting the administrative affairs of NAUTH. This is one the reasons why doctors insist adamantly on occupying the post of CMD. The CMD should just resign from that post because this action will continue to plague him throughout his remaining tenure on that post. His relationship with doctors will continue to be tense. It's the patients that eventually bears the brunt of the fallout from this feud. |
Cmanforall: Yesterday, being 14th, a patient who had head injury already being managed in a private hospital presented in A/E of Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, Anambra State, gasping. Eorts were made to stabilize him. Investigations including Cranial CT was requested for, as patient was undergoing treatment.I'm yet to understand the reason why a doctor should be arrested in this instance. There is a laid-down procedure in every tertiary centre to investigate and punish doctors involved in the mismanagement of a patient. The case must be forwarded to the ethics committee, who will review the management of the patient. In a bid to ascertain any incidence of mismanagement or gross negligence. It is the duty of the committee to report to the CMD and suggest the appropriate punitive measures. Moreover, I'm yet to understand why the dead patients relative should resort to physical assault on doctors. They should have managed their relative at home if they think that they are more competent. Finally, this gist is so scanty. The action of the CMD is incredible. |
