Time to put your big girl panties on and deal with this. You had many chances to back out of this before you got married so why didn't you? Your husby may not be educated but he's got your number. You had several suitors and you chose him. Now you must live with it. You are a woman. Do you not know how much power you wield in your home? Get a VISION for your family. Share your DREAMS with your husband. INSPIRE him to be more than he ever thought possible and see that man become everything you desire. It's not going to be easy and it won't happen overnight, but if you are willing to work at it, your marriage can become a beautiful thing. |
It sounds like depression or extreme fatigue to me. I think you should take him to the Doctor. If it turns out there is nothing medically wrong, then he's just trifling and I'd get the Elders involved. |
I am so sick of these single women going after married men! The number of women I've had to deal with since being in Lagos, its ridiculous! These women didn't take any notice of my husband until he got married. My husband will tell you no only once, then it's my turn. Next time one of 'em heffas roll up on him I got something for ya a$$! Bet!My advice to poster, stay prayed up, make sure your man has got your back no matter what, and then take them heffas out one at a time! When folks start coming up missing after "prophesying" they'll stop. I'm from Florida, we got the Everglades, I know what to do with the body. |
This is a tough one. I can see this from both your points of view. Three years is a long time to be away from each other. Timing was not your side either. I think some people have an idea that things must be a certain way before they get married, and there is nothing wrong with that but things will never be perfect. My husband vowed he would finish medical school before he got married. We got married a month ago and he has three years of school left. I was willing to wait but he wasn't. I said that to say that maybe you all could have gone ahead and gotten married and she could have gone abroad with you. Instead if it being all "you" it could have been "us." Your plans did not match the reality of the situation and now she's gone. I'm sorry but all you can do is chalk it up to experience and move on. |
I think men in earrings is very sexy. I love it when my husband wears his studs. Not every man can wear them well, but the ones that do, ooooh lawd very yummy. How can any man who is looking for a job be called irresponsible? |
Mrs.Chima:My email address is Bleep. Once you have it let me know and I'll take it down. Just put Mrs Chima in subject and I'll know its you. |
Mrs.Chima:LOL at Muslim woman, girl I feel ya. Before I go out he's checking every nook and cranny to make sure I'm covered. My Mum has ordered me some Skin So Soft so hopefully I will get it soon. I was so busy getting packed up and getting my shots etc, that mosquito spray was the last thing on my mind. Won't be home again until Christmas. We just got married moved into larger flat, paid his school fees so money is stretched right now. I knew I was getting married and moving to another continent. I knew I was leaving my life behind and building a new one with him, so I knew homesickness would kick in, but didn't expect it to be this bad. I love him so much so I will always be strong for him, but tonight, it really really got to me. You have no idea how just talking to you has made me feel so much better. I know God sent you to me. Please, please let me know when you come to Lagos, we will love to have you and your family over for a soul food dinner. @Advocator (hug) Thank you so much for understanding. |
Mrs, Chima:I swear these things saw me coming and told all their friends. I'm getting eaten alive. My poor husband has tried everything but to no avail. Hopefully my system builds some resistance to them soon. It's sooo hard not to scratch them, but don't want to end up with scars all over so I'll keep taking my oatmeal baths and pray they leave me alone soon. I'm so happy I got to talk to someone from home tonight. Am very homesick. Thank you!! ![]() Sorry Advocator! |
Advocator:You are absolutely correct about patience. Def words to live by. And be nice. I don't post regularly so she took a minute to ask me a quick question. No harm intended. |
Ahhhh!! Hey Cuz!! lol Now I'm homesick. Im a Florida girl thru and thru. Lived there almost all of my life. I love St Augustine, some of the best beaches in the state. |
Mrs, Chima:Central Florida but now I'm in Lagos. |
Advocator:I'm too busy during the day to try to decipher a text message. If he is too lazy to make it easy to understand then I'm too lazy to respond. If that makes me cocky then so be it. |
MzDark, you and 190 are so cute! But I'm still gon pray for ya lol. ![]() |
Do grown men really act like this? This seems sooo juvenile. Honestly, if I can't interpret his text, he won't get a reply. Problem solved. |
Bad things don't happen to good people. The Bible says there is none good, no not one, for ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God. We are all born in sin and shaped in iniquity. We are worthy of death and were it not for the grace of God in our lives we would perish. Thank God for mercy! |
Does he frequently make unreasonable requests from you? Is he a insecure man who views anything that takes up your time as competition? If he is neither of those, then I would take his request seriously. Take a break from it for a while, let him know that he is more important than NL, stroke that ego and assure him of his place in your life. After he's feeling better then you can come back. NL ain't going nowhere. Your man on the other hand, (sometimes the best defense is a good offense). |
tjskii:Congratulations! May you have a wonderful blessed marriage. |
I definitely believe it is true. I had just gotten out of a two year relationship when my husband found me. He found me just eight days after I walked away from my ex. I wasn't looking, and I promised to give myself ay least six months before I started dating again. I was worried that he was just a rebound, but over time he worked his way into my heart. We are very very happy together. |
Mobinga:Not every woman in this thread thinks playing video games is silly. But if you weren't so intent on generalizing you would have seen that. Calling someone a name just because they don't agree with you is the definition of immaturity. After that diatribe I know I won't be going to the gaming section any time soon. If this is how a Mod talks, no thanks. |
kodewrita:Well said! I love gaming so does my hubby. It's a great way for us to spend time together. Its called personal freedom and choice. |
Mr, Cork: |
Mrs.Chima:LMAO! Mrs C ya still holdin it down, good for you. I first came to NL to learn broken english so when I moved to Lagos I could talk it and understand, but you guys kept me laughing and I couldn't leave. The more I understand the funnier you guys are, there is no other forum that compares to NL. Good times lol. |
D-sense:Thank God all Nigerian men are not like that. My hubby and I have the same core values and that has nothing to do with culture. If your fundamental belief system is compatible, everything else can be worked out. We haven't run into any major issues yet but when we do, we will handle it like everything else, together. |
Last night. He has a cold and women you know how they act when they are sick (pray for me). I kinda snapped at him and apologized because I was grumpy due to being tired and hungry. |
Absolutely yes! He is the person I know I can tell anything and he will have my back. At home I can be wrong, but in public I can do no wrong. I love him and I always will. |
Ms. Potato:She showed her colors BEFORE they got married and your bro married her anyway. He had a choice to continue the relationship or to end it and he didn't. If he is complaining, he can't say he didn't know, because he did. He made his choice, now you all get to live with it. Good luck with that. |
190:You think you only deserve to have fun? After working all day, doing laundry, cooking dinner, getting hubby ready for the next day and cleaning. I'm more than entitled to have fun in my house. If you find women playing video games strange, then I suggest you find something else to do. All of my female friends play. And we even have our own Madden league. :-o |
I LOVE playing video games. Everything from MADDEN to HALO is in my library. I have XBOX, PS3, and the WII. The key is not neglecting other important things in our lives just to play. But it really helps me relax after a long day. |
