PoliticsRe: FG To Sign $7 Billion Contract For Mambila Power Plant This Month!! by adconline(m): 5:30pm On Oct 03, 2014
businesslawyer: This same project whose Contract was ratified in 2011 by this same Government promising 87monts completion period at around $2billion suddenly is getting re awarded just to make political statement-http://www.dailytimes.com.ng/article/fec-ratifies-mambilla-hydro-power-project.

We have a lying deceptive government.
THIS WAS IN 2011
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday ratified an earlier awarded contract of N5.65billion (US$37.2million) for the proposed 2,600-Megawatt Mambilla Hydro power project in Taraba.

Minister of Information and Communications Labaran Maku told reporters after the FEC meeting which was presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan at the State House in Abuja.

Labaran said the contract was awarded to Messrs Coyne et Bellier together with two local companies with an 87 months completion period.

Clarifying an earlier FEC directive stopping the award of all contracts since December 2010, Labaran said the Mambilla power project had been awarded previously, but there was the need for its ratification by the Council.

"It is a crown project for this country in addressing significantly the issue of power," he said, stressing that the project was one of the major programmes of the Federal Government towards improving energy security in the country.

The FEC also ratified approval for the variation of the contracts for the construction of 225MW Gbarain Power Plant and 338MW Egbema Power Plant. The ratification of the variation was as a result of memos presented by the Minister of State for Power, Nuhu Wyato.

The government had made a request made to the contractors to modify the design of the plant to accommodate additional gas turbines and combined cycle operation.

Gbarain contract was reviewed from N21billion to N33.5billion while Egbema contract was reviewed to raise expected generation from 338MW to 675MW.

Crowd management

In another development, the President has directed special training of security agencies on crowd management to avoid future occurrence of the last week’s tragedy in Port Harcourt.

Labaran said the President gave the directive after the Council had reviewed the incidence.

He stated that FEC commiserated with the families of the victims of the tragedy and prayed God for the repose of their souls.
Why can't Naija journalists challenge them facts like thesehuh It was 2600MW in 2011, now it's 3000MW with inflated figure.

tintingz: Fatuous...

Akon is a Muslim, his wives are??

Polygamy is illegal in America and yet we can find people practicing polygamy, coogar have said these before.

Do you see where I posted a link of feminist in US protesting to legalize polygamy?

a feminist is a feminist. grin

Which of these does UAE, Kuwait, Saudi lack?

I'm still laughing at your fatuousness. grin grin
You are a product of a third world country, so an advanced country is opposite of Naija?

tintingz: at least he's faithful enough bringing in another woman to marry. wife and family knows about it.

This is adultery from a monogamist and unfaithful. grin

divorce is an option.
You are not making sense. How can a polygamist who's serial cheater be faithful? It's either you don't know what cheating is.
FamilyRe: A Thread For "Everything Polygamy"! by adconline(m):
Onegai: From what I have seen of Polygamy, being a Divorcee is harder but I'll take that badge any day, any time.

If only men knew the lasting damage such an environment leaves on their kids...

If men could be made to understand the value of Self-Control and not cheating, the effect it would have on their kids...

OP, speak to a 1st wife, speak to a 1st wife and weigh your pros and cons according to your needs, not your wants. I wish you the best, as I am not sure I can accept your decision calmly. I'm the sort to react later: my hypothetical polygamous husband will not realise that 10 years after marrying more wives, I will poison him. And I will not regret it. I know myself, I know what I'm capable of (sad and true). I know what growing up in a polygamous home did to me and my brothers and sisters (how we all struggle to keep good monogamous homes now, because we never saw a peaceful family, we had no good examples). I know that almost all the people I envy as being at peace and stable emotionally with themselves all had one thing in common: Fathers and Mothers who loved and cared for themselves and their children and were present in their lives.

I know my partner cannot tell you much about his polygamous father (because the man never had his time). I know Polygamy never cured my father of cheating. I know my stepmum regretted her decision when my mum (the legal 1st wife) lived in the comfy house whilst she was in the boys quarters (and yes, my very religious mum enjoyed every minute of karma hitting that woman).
I know my brothers struggle with commitment to one woman (they're all scared of even getting married).

I've got a lot of friends from polygamous homes, none of them would wish it upon their enemies. I wonder who all these "happily polygamous families" are. Most of these people I speak of, you see their pictures in mags and online, smiling happily (but they hate and fight each other in private). Hmm.
Both men and women are responsible. You can say NO to a married man And married man can stick to their wife.

Hold your ruling/thieving class responsible the way you are expecting US solve all ur problems. Gullible folks like u are blaming the US instead of asking your govt why it flew $10m cash on jets to RSA??
FamilyRe: A Thread For "Everything Polygamy"! by adconline(m): 9:49pm On Sep 30, 2014
ayinba1: A polygamist is very different from a cheating husband. A friend who stabs you in the back is not the same as an enemy you recognize.
A lot of us worry more about what "others" say than what we actually feel. You can choose to see some good in your situation if you have the capacity to be thankful/grateful. It is an attitude.
If your husband performs his responsibilities, be it monogamy or polygamy, you will have good experiences. If he is negligent of his duties, you will be miserable be you half wife, one wife or one out of more than one wife.

Let us not over romanticize monogamy and vilify polygamy.

I am a woman and yes, Orisha , je kin pe meji obirin ko de inu. But it is not the worst thing that could happen in a marriage.
That's not entirely true. A polygamist can be a serial cheater, but a monogamist who's a serial cheater is not going to bring home another woman and make her his wife and relegate the first wife to tired and dumped.

There's a way of minimising the influence of the opposition if you get the people behind you through people oriented program but when everything seems out of joint, why won't you have an opposition that will take advantage of the many opportunity you are offering her. I support the attack and every utterances of the opposition if at the long run the pdp led gov't will see reason to start doing what is ideal.

You have to be delusional to infer that Brazil is not way better than Naija. Not better than US and UK, yes! But heaven when compared to Naija! They make cars, buses, and Air planes while Naija can't make Keke Napep.
Nigerians outside Naija contribute more going by their small population. Last year, Nigerians in diaspora sent over $20bn home even though this is a tiny minority say 5million folks.

majekdom2: like I said these countries have had a steady government , ghana is not way better than Nigeria but they are climbing. yea , the government could do better but is not like it has done nothing . Those countries you mentioned have got a lesser population , they are surrounded with countries with good developments .These are things to be considered. how many countries in west africa can be compared to china or australia. these countries are the reason behind the successes of malaysia and the countries you metioned. an australian is free to work in singapore cause they believe he would be coming to add greatly to them ... which is very much true. I am not in support of the situation but my point people should stop condeming a situation they are doing nothing to change. the govt is used to criticism , condemations and the rest of it ....nothing is happening still. don't you think if they stop hearing these criticisms , somethin better can happen.... only a fool keeps doing something that produces no results over and over again.
Another flawed logic. Indonesia and Brazil are more populous than Naija and they waaay too developed and ahead of Naija in terms of development

Thomsbuky: Although Indian industries seems to be picking up, but cannot really class them as developed, nevertheless ahead of Nigeria in terms of producing capital goods and sources of power for development is very good. However, Indian infrastructure seems similar to that of Nigerian some we'll developed while other area are neglecting and appalling ghetto's....
Don't make this type of comparison. India got independence in 1947 while Naija got hers in 1960.
Population: India 1.25bn. Naija: 170m: Ratio: 7:1
India has 8 companies in Fortune500, Naija has None. India has about 54 companies in Forbes Global2000 largest companies. India has over 50 billionaires
Naija has only 5 companies Forbes Global2000.
Ba
Naija has 4 billionaires.
Known Indian brands in Naija, Tata, Range Rover, Jaguar-- Airtel, Wipro, Infosys, Bajaj, Essar Energy, ONGC, Mittal Steel etc.
There is no Naija brand in India.
India is light years ahead of Naija in terms of infrastructure. India ranks third in global ranking of electricity production while Naija ranks 68th.

I'll have you know that even the citizens of wherever you're travelling to would also be interested in that shiiit cleaning business you were hoping to snag....

Whatever money you'll make there will be taken away from you in the name of tax. Nigerians don't even know how good they have it here. You watch a few American movies and you think going abroad will be awesome. Na when dem ship your dead body come Naija na that time your relatives' eye go clear.

Only a lazy man will be poor in Nigeria, people in this country run businesses and make up to 100,000 naira per week, some per day even, when they've settled all bills, they cart home at least 2 million naira quarterly.

Seun, Linda Ikeji and co didn't make their money abroad. Banky W, tiwa Savage, seyi shay, Don Jazzy had to leave foreign lands to come and make money here. You never ask those oness wey go come back wetin make them return, you wan go.

I wish you adieu and make sure some red-neck racist c?nt doesnkt end you while you're hustling there
But most of them have investments/bank accounts abroad. Most of them go abroad for shopping, vacation and medical treatment. Dangote has a home in Atlanta as far back as in the 80's, Adenuga lived in the US. OBJ lived in UK while sons and daughters live in EU and US. Almost all Naija politicians and rich people have some kind of investment abroad. It's only the patriotic naive that thinks that Naija is paradise on earth. They will never get it cos they have not lived beyond the shores of Naija. How can you say that Ado Ekiti is better than Lagos if u have only lived in Ado Ekiti all your life?
The OP is another attention seeking individual who thinks that you can't effect change from outside. UN is a global brand and working for them wouldn't make u less a Nigerian. OBJ wanted to vie for UN secretary position. Ibrahim Gambari from Nigeria, is an accomplished UN envoy. I would like to if you are going to match their records in your lifetime??

I think the reason why US airports remain d way they are, is that Americans airports as mere transit points not worthy of luxury.

Nigerians are the most understanding and less critical humans! No NEPA, God dey, No food, God dey, Money in the bank, ATM not working, let's try tomorrow. North Africans can't deal with things we deal with let alone the oyibos. Arabs and Oyibos are more critical that's why u see them on street everyday protesting.

klem93: 10 Largest Airports in the World As Seen From Above
I’ve always loved flying, especially the approach to a new airport from above - the joy of discovering the runway and terminal design for the first time, etc. Below you’ll find interesting aerial photos of the 10 largest airports in the world—largest defined by the number of people passing through each year. These numbers are based on 2011 stats. Which is your favorite? Mine is the last one, number 10, in Hong Kong, which I’m eager to fly into! Also, am I the only one surprised that Atlanta is the busiest airport in the world, clocking 92,365,860 people last year, while JFK isn’t even in the top 10? click http://educationalgist..in/2014/09/the-10-largest-airports-in-world.html#more
1. HARTSFIELD–JACKSON ATLANTA INTERNATIONAL
ATL is the busiest cos it's a Skymiles hub- Delta/Air-France/KLM. Chicago ORD used to be the world's busiest airport. But US is yet catch up with Asia/EU in terms of inflight service and airport luxury. US airports are always big but not traveller friendly and comfy like ike EU/Asia.
