barcanista: The dude is among the group that has been brainwashed by their brainwashed teachers and leaders to believe that a non Diploma/ degree holder is an "Illiterate"
Your anti- education stance is the reason why beneficiaries of the status quo like u don't want to avail educational opportunities to others..No wonde you are in support of someone who's going to continue that agenda.
PoliticsRe: Before We Lost Kwankwaso In Aso Rock. by adconline(m): 6:49am On Sep 09, 2014
barcanista: You are indeed a foolish man. To you education is all about increased number of WASSCE/GCE enrollment powered by illegitimate centers, fraudulent supervisors and cheats parents. You my friend need to be educated.

Fyi: Rabiu Kwankwaso 1st took power in 1999. He introduced freeeee education at all levels, built university, primary and secondart schools. Established post secondary schools, vocational schools and also informal training despite the relative meagre budget. He left power in 2003 and continued from where he stopped in 2011 and even surpassing what he did. Now my friend, you have learnt something this morning. Stop being a dunce
Men lie, women lie, numbers don't! Show me some numbers if even they are made up by you and ur ilk to support ur conjectures..
PoliticsRe: Before We Lost Kwankwaso In Aso Rock. by adconline(m): 6:21am On Sep 09, 2014
Rawani: You forgot to mention the almost 500 miracle exam centers closed down in Anambra after the exams and before these results were released. What percentage of those 34,000 passes would you estimate are fraudulent considering the huge proportion of these miracle centers?

Don't forget your eraser..
You have to send them to Nursery and primary schools first before you talk about miracle centers..

Numbers from JAMB: in 2012, about 17k students from Imo state got admission into university while about 7k students from Kano got admissions.. Ratio of 2.4 to 1: so for every 2.4 students that got admission from Imo, Kano only has one.

Do u care to know what the literacy disparity is? Adult literacy in Kano is 27.8%; Imo - 80.8%, Lagos-80.5%; youth literacy: Kano-41.9%; Imo-95.7%; Lagos-95.1%.

Explaining these numbers again to dunces! Less than 3 of 10 Kano adults can read and write while 8.5 out of 10 adults can read and write in Lagos and Imo states. Only 4 of 10 Kano youths can read and write while 9.5 out of 10 youths in Lagos and Imo can read and write.
If these youths who have been deprived of basic education by the feudal and hegemonic few, know that someone like you is in full support of their continuous deprivation, you would be Boko Haramed!
PoliticsRe: Before We Lost Kwankwaso In Aso Rock. by adconline(m): 5:53am On Sep 09, 2014
barcanista: You are not smart along with the 6ppl that liked your foolish comment. Education is not a "quick fix" but a long term project. Its better to have little number of LEGITIMATE successes than majority illegitimate successes. Not everyone is a product of Special Centers like yourself.
Arrant nonsense
Show me what he has fixed in 7 years. Keep dismissing education to ur own peril.. Dunces like u can never grasp the numbers and magnitude of the problem. For umpteenth time, other states with smaller education budgets are sending more kids to primary and secondary schools than Kano. Are miracle centers required to send kids to primary schools?
PoliticsRe: Before We Lost Kwankwaso In Aso Rock. by adconline(m): 2:14am On Sep 09, 2014
MeAboki: My friend, get off your high horse.

Yes, the disparities may be there (as per the figures mentioned) but there are also more to them than meets the eye - and evidently less than apparent to you.

First of all, Kwankwaso is trying to reverse the trend by introducing free education for state indigenes, building several schools through out the state, including a university, also as mentioned sponsoring over 1000 students on scholarship to study abroad (on various courses) - all within 2.5 years of his tenure.

Of course the impact of this human investment would take many years before coming to fruition (a point you would rather ignore); he also introduced other measures, like the law to stop street begging in an effort to curtail truancy.

No, the disproportionate higher budget by Kano compared to Anambra Vs the educational outcome does not necessarily translate to greater efficiency or having less dunces by the latter; as the budgetary differences can easily be explained by the above mentioned activities by the Kano State Governor; while the issue of scholastic performance could also be partially explained by a more sinister reason e.g. exam malpractice in all its ramifications; after all we hear of stories like a whole family numbering up to 40 sharing 1 certificate; while some examples are even more spectacularly prominent - as seen in our current very own first lady, madam peace a.k.a deris God O! grin

Lastly, neither does exam performance equate to intelligence as there are many PhD holders with low I.Q., in fact one them is currently in Aso Rock - shey you understand cool
Try harder! Show me facts not conjectures. He has been a governor for about 7 yrs; a minister of defence under OBJ. He's completing his 2nd term as governor. I just analyzed his educational policy and budget. Wait till we delve into health and other sectors. We should be comparing Kano to Lagos not Anambra state for goodness sake!

AMvanquish: So all 10m and 4.3m respectively should write waec right. Speaking truthfully or ignorantly. Pls stick to what you know...
It's either you're arithmetically challenged to see the huge difference in number of kids going to school in Kano vs number of kids going to school in Anambra-- or maybe you are a beneficiary of the status quo- deny them education! Niaija has one of the highest child illiteracy rates in the world- all thanks to this type of ur denial.

Let me break down the numbers for dunces like you. The ratio of Kano to Anambra population is 2.3 : 1. So every 2.3 pupils going to school in Kano, Anambra should be sending 1 pupil, but the reverse reverse is the case.

Out of 66k Kano students only 18K got 5 credits and above with a pass rate of 27% while Anambra that registered 52k students, 34k got 5 credits and above with a pass rate of 65%. Makes you wonder if Boko Haram is going away soon?

Education budget: Kano 2014=N20.8bn; Anambra=N7.172bn. Explaining the numbers for dunces again! For every N3 Kano spends on education, Anambra , spends N1 : Ratio: 3 to 1.
Percentage of educational outcome: Kano: 27%; Anambra=65%.. It means that Anambra state is 38% more efficient and productive in training younger ones for university education than Kano with 1/3 of Kano's budget.
PoliticsRe: Before We Lost Kwankwaso In Aso Rock. by adconline(m): 6:32pm On Sep 08, 2014

Cos we Nigerians are dirty period. From market women-men to eateries, churches, clubs, hotels.. Bathrooms stink. I just carried out a simple observation after we had this cleanliness argument. I flew an outbound flight with most Nigerians on board, I checked bathrooms before take off, less than one hr on the flight, I re-checked the bathrooms- sinks clogged with papers, toilet papers dropped on the floor. We had a connecting in another country with changed plane, I took note of bathrooms before take off and mid flight.. Nobody dropped papers on the floor or clogged the sinks..difference: 95% of 2nd flight were from different countries while 95% of 1st flight came from Nigeria. You could hardly use bathrooms in public places like airports, hotels, malls, and eateries in Naija without tip toeing or blocking your nostrils..

Chaleeee: Stop exposing the shallowness of your intellect on the world wide web. Naija military is not a voluntary employment. They applied, passed thru training and are paid monthly. Even when they go for peace keeping, they are paid allowances.

How does "conscript" equate "volunteering"?
Abeg no quote me again. You are all length and no depth
You lack logical reasoning to grasp the meaning of " volunteer" from " conscript" force. US just like Naija runs all volunteer force.. The fact that's a volunteer force does not mean no pay.. It means you elect to serve in spite of the difficulty but not without pay. Doctors who work for UNHCR, WHO, Doctors Without Borders get paid. Keep exposing your ignorance on full HD!

U have no idea what volunteer means in emergency. Naija military is a volunteer force, does it mean that the govt should owe them? Isrea has conscript force- all citizens over 18 yrs must serve

Folks who have never given a hungry person chinchin for free always expect others to lay down their lives for free.

Nigeria is a great Country , Land of great opportunities!

When you visit the arrival lounge of any of our international Airports you will appreciate how important Nigeria is to foreigners!

Despite the threat of Boko haram and Ebola foreign investors , A-class celebrities , and top quality industrialist are trooping In daily !

Nigerians,

We must believe in our selves

We must begin to channel our potentials in the right direction

We must stop hating and start thinking positively and acting positively

If we unite and work together I foresee Americans Queuing up at our embassies to get a Nigerian Visa !

May God bless you for reading this post and may God Bless our Great country Nigeria
Lies we have told ourselves for over 60 yrs. it's like MLS boasting that it attracts top notch players like Lampard and Thierry Henry. Our intl airport is a disgrace and indicative of how rotten our system is.

Nonybb: Ofcourse whities are refine in their mentality and will probably take you up in some prospects and from there opportunities will expand. But the Nigerian case is different and quite pathetic. People would laugh you to a scorn and think you have gone mad or need a deliverance. Yes I love what he did but I am not inspired to do the same here in Lagos
It's Naija mentality that's killing us. I was coming out of a bank and decided to get some boiled groundnuts, a bank cleaner in another bank started calling me " hungry man"for eating groundnuts on the street... Other workers joined her and started mocking me.. How in this world is it their business? So only hungry and poor peeps eat groundnuts?
EducationRe: Nigeria Sitting On A Time Bomb. by adconline(m): 2:45am On Sep 06, 2014
Anambra state with over 4 million people registered 51,718 students and over 34k students got 5 credits and above. Kano with 9.5m registered only 66k students and only 18K got 5 credits and above. Borno with over 4 million people similar to Anambra population, registered 31K students and ONLY 4868 students got 5 credits and above. Kano and Borno are homes to Boko Haram. What are their governors doing to send their kids to school? So for every 1-university bound student Borno produces, Anambra produces 7 while Kano produces less than 2. Makes you wonder if Boko Haram is going away soonhuh

I have stayed in a lot of hotels in FCT, Lagos, Enugu, Owerri and PH.

By far, the one I enjoyed most is called D'Martel (or something like that around Govt.House) at Enugu for around N10k.

The room was very neat. Everything was very standard. And this was November last year.

But all those N15k-N30K per night rooms in Lagos and FCT are not worth crap especially considering that sometimes I pay for a week or more.

Absofucking_lutely a rip off

Plan is henceforth get into Lagos and get the hell out as soon as possible (if possible by the next day)

D'Matel is OK by Naija standard, there is one in Lekki as well. It's owned by OJ productions, Nollywood producer, but intl chains like Southern Sun and Protea are outrageous.

Is this going to be a gas-fired plant; and if so, where will the gas be sourced from?........Anyone know?
JVs can be formed, but by partners who have proven track record. JV equity from Ebonyi is about N40bn- 40% of their annual budget. It runs a budget of less than N100bn. Where is the money coming from? Who is backing the fictitious company? How come no Naija Banks,ADB, IFC, World Bank, GE, ABB are mentioned? Who are their technical partners?

I was there a couple years back for a nightly business meeting and wanted to check in and was told the cheapest room would cost over $400 or N64k. This is a 2-3star hotel by intl standard. This title is misleading!! why do we bandie statistics in these country with reckless abandon, chaii diaris is Goduo. firstly, the article reported that there was an 80% reduction on fish and rice cargo entering Nigeria through the ports, without a comensurate scarcity in the system BUT THIS IS DUE TO DIVERTION OF NIGERIA BOUND CARGO TO COTONOU PORTS AND SUBSEQUENT SMUGGLING OF SAME GOODS(FISH & RICE) INTO NIGERIA AND NOT BECAUSE LOCAL PRODUCTION HAS REPLACED IMPORTS!! secondly, I have heard a lot about massive local production of rice in Nigeria but why is it so difficult to come by?? All I see every where is gold cap, mama Africa etc with the bold inscription "made in Thailand or produce of India" what is really going on, is it that we produce locally and brand it made in Thailand or what. where the hell is the Abakaliki rice, ofada rice or ebony rice I keep hearing of everyday??
