EducationRe: Nigerian Professor, Ilesanmi Becomes First Black VC Of University Of Illinois by adconline(m): 1:58pm On Sep 25, 2014
This is stale news. He has been in this position since August 15, 2012. He's a smart guy and an accomplished administrator. He's the VC of academic affairs and Provost.
http://provost.illinois.edu/about/staff/adesida/index.html

BTW, in the US system, president is equivalent to Naija VC...,VC is not the head of this University, the chancellor is the head of a campus reporting directly to a University president because this university has a lot campuses; each campus is headed by a Chancellor,The chancellor of this great university UIUC is Phyliss M Wise

PropertiesRe: Nigerians In Ghana Control Over 50% Real Estate Investments by adconline(m): 6:06pm On Sep 24, 2014
Naija always reeling out numbers without citing their source. 50% of Naija buying his real estate property doesn't mean that 50% of Ghana's real estate is controlled by Naija.

otijah: Most of you guys ranting nonsense here didn't even read the topic and went into conlusion, nobody is trying to save tb joshua here I think they are just trying to follow due process so that nobody makes a mistakes
You don't sound like you read the news. Do you have any idea how govt works? LASG has juridisction over this case. This is not on exclusive list if you know what that means. LASG that built bridge over inland waterways which are under FG exclusive list is saying that it can't investigate TB Joshua because of FG's involvement. Building permits and codes are enforced by state and local authorities.

sarutobie: why do you all assume most people in his congregation are poor? why do you all assume church goers are all poorhuh that misconception is where people coined the words "church rat" which is so derogatory. can you give me a verified statistics of the "poor people" in his congregation?
Most folks in Naija are poor and therefore constitute a majority of congregation.. Check number of people riding bus vs number of people driving nice cars after church service. If 40% of Nigerians are rich, it means that 6 out of 10 congregants are poor. Minimum wage is 18k=216k/yr. how much can you make to save up to N500k/yr?
EducationRe: Oyedepo Defends Fees Charged By Private Universities by adconline(m): 8:07pm On Sep 21, 2014
sarutobie: do you in all honesty believe that only "the poor people" come to these churches and pay tithes and give donations? someone in an earlier post even said politicians attend these churches and give their tithes and donations there..yet you still ask how the universities came to be?
Most poor folks constitute a large percentage of the congregation
EducationRe: Oyedepo Defends Fees Charged By Private Universities by adconline(m):
Average Naija lives on 30k-50k month. 450k/yr. Our annual GDP per capita is $3000=N400k. Minimum wage is 18k/month/216k/yr. Rich pastor doesn't care about poor folks, but I blame the poor for caring and enriching the pocket of someone who doesn't care about them.

passion007: You see!
I had pointed out that the Govt has given deserved praise to the entrepreneur, yet you insist on pursuing this tired line. I'm familiar with your antics. Enugu state values her investors, and that's all that matters.
I'm holding u accountable whenever folks like u think that politicians drive the economy. Risk savvy investors do in spite of bad investment conditions.. I know more about this investment, so quit crediting the governor for his little or no effort.. entrepreneurs see opportunities, politicians see looting and taking credit for things they have no hand in. Keep being a sycophantic drummer!

Bunch of delusional folks! CNN and BBC are western propaganda and Al Jazerra has joined Arabian propaganda?? Are we not ashamed that our NTA, which over 50 yrs old cannot compete with Al- Jazerra, which is less than 10 yrs?
We love those media houses when they state that we are the largest economy in Africa? Hate them when state that malaria kills about 300K Nigerians every year.
PoliticsRe: I Was The Only Journalist That Rejected TB Joshua's 50k Bribe-Ibekwe by adconline(m): 6:41pm On Sep 20, 2014
McWhillion: I'm not sorry to say that that Nicholas Ibekwe is a fool. What is the #50k bribe for, if he cannot say let him shut his dirty hole he calls a mouth.
You are bereft of logical reasoning. Why was TB handing out 50K to Journalists? Did TB hand out money to journalists prior to the collapse of his church? If this is not inducement, what's the money for?
PoliticsRe: Enugu Tackles Multiple Taxation, Inaugurates Mercedes Benz Center by adconline(m): 6:34pm On Sep 20, 2014
passion007: He made his remark in the context of Enugu being the state with the least crime rate. Now tell me if that's an accolade for ENSG or for entrepreneurs?

The main article is full of effusive praise for entrepreneurs who "dared" to invest in the state.

So, what's your angle, really?
With or without Enugu' govt "genius effort" entrepreneur would have located in Enugu.. But without NB Plc, entrepreneur wouldn't have located located to Enugu. Entrepreneur started business in Onitsha and moved to Enugu.. Econs 101 nearness to market .. ie.. NB Plc.

Gboliwe: Na you sabi.
I heard that brewery was originally meant to be in abia atate and orji uzo frustrated them out
Keep hearing beer parlour rumors.Heineken owns NB PLC and there is no way it could have built a factory in Abia state. NB plant is located in 9th mile before Heneiken plant in Ama.Enugu. Plant construction began around 1999 and started production in 2003, so did u see Sullivan's role in it?
PoliticsRe: Enugu Tackles Multiple Taxation, Inaugurates Mercedes Benz Center by adconline(m): 5:14pm On Sep 20, 2014
Gboliwe: because if they don't enable the environment, the entrepreneurs will be frustrated
It's Heineken Plant in AMA that keeps Tetralog in business. They are no 1 logistics provider to NB Plc. So this company has been in business before Chime became governor.. Owner built his company without any govt assistance now the govt is taking the glory.. Nairaland is full of funny people.
PoliticsRe: Enugu Tackles Multiple Taxation, Inaugurates Mercedes Benz Center by adconline(m): 4:54pm On Sep 20, 2014
Gboliwe: Wow, that's good to know. The IG says its based on statistics and empirical studies. I must have to agree and quote him when necessary. What do I know to disagree with him?

Great news. Sullivan is doing well!
Why do we thank politicians first before entrepreneurs who are risking their hard earned money?
Christianity EtcRe: FG not doing enough to prevent anarchy -Catholic bishops by adconline(m): 4:39pm On Sep 20, 2014
kITATITA: I'm appalled at the apparent stupidity of several Nigerians who don't see beyond the immediate, and who think with their hearts. The bishops have always used the annual Catholic Bishops Conference to review the state of the nation and issue statements on the position of the Church. It's not about one person and definitely not about Oritsejafor. I'm surprised that several Nairalanders do not know this and come here to celebrate their ignorance.
Good luck reasoning with folks that have ID10-T problem.
Car TalkRe: Nigeria Begins Implementation Of 35% Levy On Imported New Vehicles by adconline(m): 12:34am On Sep 19, 2014
Most Naija folks don't get it. This has increased the cost of utility vehicles like trucks, buses, minivans and pick ups by 200%, this applies to both new and used.So cost of moving goods, people and services is going up.

Also, the cost of clearing construction and heavy equipment has gone up by almost 200%; this applies to used and new. Cost of executing project is going high.. Business owners are always going to pass on the costs to consumers as usual.

RomanceRe: The Growing Trend Of Men Shying Away From Court or White Wedding by adconline(m): 12:50pm On Sep 16, 2014
Sweetlemon: Well if they are living with him without the "funfair" then they should be able to sign documents without funfair as well. It's that simple.
Marriages solemnized in places of worship are as good as court marriage since marriage documents are signed and then turned in to the council registry. It's no biggie signing any marriage document, paying for another expensive wedding is the problem.
RomanceRe: The Growing Trend Of Men Shying Away From Court or White Wedding by adconline(m):
Kachisbarbie: That's why I said understanding is scarceee - You just proved it, no one said you should do societal,we only said documentation. Court marriage was 10k the last time I checked. So if you have a meaningful submission...lemme hear it.
Most guys would not shy away to sign a simple piece of paper and go home and enjoy their marital life, but is that going to be comfortable with most women? Signing a piece of paper without fun-fair? I doubt it.. the subtext of this heading should ve been " why do most men dread fancy white wedding after traditional wedding?
Back to my point.. Understanding your demands comes with picking up the tab in a white wedding! Guys don't run from signing a piece paper, but signing a blank check to cover a much fantasized "royal wedding" that's been anticipated since childhood.
RomanceRe: The Growing Trend Of Men Shying Away From Court or White Wedding by adconline(m): 9:39pm On Sep 15, 2014
Kachisbarbie: My dear, shun them. Some people can read but they don't understand...and you know understanding is very important...lol
Talk is cheap.. If most Naija females pay their fair share of weddings - trad or white, they would demand less and know that wedding is a one-day thing while marriage is a continuous task which needs money..

@edwife

I like elnathan. i love his satirical articles.

This article further re-iterates why I wont want to raise a girl child in Nigeria. Mba.

Thank you Aisha.
Yes, you can raise a girl in Naija ! You can raise a girl to become next Iweala, Akunyili,Borha. We must teach and demand accountability from our female child.. If she doesn't like science and math, it's our job to teach her like a male child. It's our responsibility to demand that she performs like a male child.
It's our responsibility to buy toys that can increase their logical and intellectual curiosity instead of buying pink barbie and dolls. It's our responsibility to teach her that she can do better in engineering and science than in philosophy and sociology. Why do we have fewer females in science and engineering classes? Our families teach men to think of how their choices in selecting a course/discipline would impact their ability to provide for their family while we just want women to be " educated" for future husbands.. Teach women to be a competitive and prospective income earner. If a male says that he wants to study history in university, your first reaction would be how is this going to put food on the table? But if a female says that, we might say at least she's going to school. Teach equal responsibility and demand equal accountability.

People (including/especially men) do much worse for money. Show me the person wey no like money?

The women married them for money. The men married them for sex. Whatever the reason *sips Kermit's Lipton*............ my own be say " If you call the women "shameless" then don't forget to include the old men. Period!"
Stop playing victim! All those women married their husbands for love of money.. Men come to terms with that but women live in deceit...

Women and men think differently... Most Naija women would deny that money or comfort is not their reason for marriage, but most Naija guys rarely believe them. Guys believe that money brings freedom and gets u acquainted with the most beautified women..
