Caution for the last days

SCRIPTURE: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:25.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Remain under your God-ordained spiritual cover. Do not run up and down because not all that glitters is gold!

Yesterday, we identified three counsels for the end time. We saw that to escape the traps of the end time, we must refuse to be victims of the season, we must watch over our lives and live ready always.

Today, we shall look at some cautions for the last days. 

1. Forsake not the assembling together of the brethren (Hebrews 10:25).

Do not forsake the gathering together of the saints in church in these last days. The church is your “Ark of Safety”. People that were not drowned by the flood of Noah entered the ark (Genesis 7:7). In the same manner, anyone who will not be drowned in the floods of disaster in this end time must enter the Ark of God’s safety which is the church, the House of the Lord. So, don’t let any business or commitment take you away from church this season. Don’t be too busy to attend church services. 

2. Remain under your God-ordained spiritual cover.

Find out who your pastor is, and stay under such pastoral and spiritual cover (Ephesians 4:11-14).

God brought me in contact with my spiritual cover in the person of His servant, Bishop Oyedepo more than twenty-five years ago and I have not shifted since then. There are people who shift from following their mentor almost every season but I have refused to shift.

3. Maintain a personal altar of relationship with God (Romans 8:14).

It is good to be blessed by congregational anointing but it is very critical to maintain a personal altar of relationship with God.

You should be so spiritually mature that when you find yourself in a place where you are not expected to be, the Holy Ghost can tell you, “This is not the right place. Leave this place”. 

You should be able to see the manifestation of the things of the end time as you maintain fire on your altar.

4. Be a person of conviction (Exodus 23:2)

Be a person of conviction and not a person of consensus. Refuse to be a person who does things because it is popular or because everyone is doing it. Refuse to be a victim of societal influence. Even though everyone is dressing naked, collecting bribe, telling lies, and living lawlessly, don’t join them. Be a person of conviction. 

Many people have been destroyed because they don’t have the mind of their own. They live their lives based on what other people think, say or do. But you must make up your mind to be a person of conviction to survive the last days.

Counsels for the end time

Take heed and watch your life in order not to be a victim of the end time. The fact is, you may not be looking for sin but sin may be looking for you. Watch your life! 

SCRIPTURE: Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Matthew 24:42.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: In order not to be taken unawares by the rapture and miss it in eternity, be watchful and live ready always.

In our previous studies, we explored the signs of the end time. And we have seen quite a number of them. 

Now, what is my counsel to you as someone who is living in this end time? What should you do at this time to escape being taken unawares by the rapture?

1. Refuse to be a victim of the season (2Tim. 3:1-5). 

Refuse to be swallowed up by the plague of the end time. Refuse to have a prayer life that is depressed. Refuse to be a victim of the bandwagon of this end time.

2. Watch your life. 

Be on your guard and watch your life because no one can watch your life like yourself. Watch your life for the enemy is moving about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:. 

You need to watch because you don’t know the hour the Lord will come (Matthew 24:42, 1 Corinthians 10:12).

Take heed and watch your life in order not to be a victim of the end time. The fact is, you may not be looking for sin but sin may be looking for you. Watch your life! In this end time, it is easy for people to lose their relationship with God. Under few seconds of one conversation, one discussion, one sight, one sound, one’s relationship with God can be lost.

David was a man after God’s heart. In his days, no one loved God passionately like him. He was an embodiment of worship. But in one careless evening of leisurely walk on the balcony of his house, he saw a naked woman. Maybe, he turned his face away but the flesh said to him, “Look again”. Then he turned away his face again and the flesh probably said to him more loudly: “Just look for the last time”. This was how he fell and committed immorality with the woman. This was the same man after God’s heart.

3. Live ready (Matthew 24:44)

Beloved, Jesus is coming again. He may come while you are eating, driving, lying, cheating, stealing, watching immoral movies, backbiting, quarrelling, smoking or drinking. Live ready.

Matthew 24:41 says, Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Beloved, in order not to be taken unawares by the rapture and miss it in eternity, be watchful, and live ready always.

Explosion of the Gospel and the move of the spirit

The nations of the earth where the gospel has not yet reached will be reached with the gospel before the Master returns. Tribes and languages of people that have not been reached yet will experience the explosion of the gospel. 

SCRIPTURE: And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. Matthew 24:14.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A major sign of the end time is the explosion of the gospel to reach every inhabited corner of the earth.

Yesterday, we looked at the restoration of the nation of Israel and their language as a sign of the end time. Today, we shall look at more signs of the end time according to scripture. 

1. The explosion of the gospel

Matthew 24:14 says, And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

A major sign of the end time is the explosion of the gospel to reach every inhabited corner of the earth.

The nations of the earth where the gospel has not yet reached will be reached with the gospel before the Master returns. Tribes and languages of people that have not been reached yet will experience the explosion of the gospel. And this is already happening – people who have not heard about Jesus Christ before are now beginning to hear about Him. The uttermost parts of the earth are being invaded with the gospel the way it happened during the days of Philip where the Ethiopian eunuch was reached with the gospel (Act 8:27-39). This shows that the end is near. 

2. The explosion of the Holy Spirit. 

Joel 2:28 says, And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

The end time is also characterised by the explosion of the power and move of the Holy Ghost like never before. In the end time, we shall experience the Holy Ghost primitive apostolic revival. The Power of the Spirit shall explode in schools, market places, factories, and offices. God shall be visiting the earth with His Power because the end of time is at hand. And the stage is set for that move now. 

Beloved, my counsel is: don’t just fold your hands watching the events of the end time as they unfold. Be involved in taking the gospel to the ends of the earth. Be involved in the move of the Spirit and what God is doing at this time of the end. Refuse to be left behind. 

Remember this: A major sign of the end time is the explosion of the gospel to reach every inhabited corner of the earth.

The Restoration Of Israel

Beloved, it was predicted in Scripture that one sign of the end time is the restoration of the nation of Israel and their language. This has been fulfilled which means we are already in the end time. 

SCRIPTURE: Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither. Jeremiah 31:8.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Ensure that you are ready for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In Scripture, we understand that one sign of the end time is the restoration of Israel as a nation. 

Our Lord Jesus Christ, in Matthew 24:32, says, Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

Bible theologians identified the “fig tree” in Matthew 24:32 as Israel. When you see the Israelites who were scattered all over the world coming together to their homeland in Israel, it means the end is near.

Israel, as a nation was scattered all over the earth for almost two thousand years but they came together, and on the 14th of May, 1948, became a nation despite the intense hostility of neighbouring countries.

It is very important to know that the Jews are returning to their homeland now in fulfilment of God’s promise for the restoration of Israel in Jeremiah 31:8.

This year (about two months ago), I spoke with the president of the International Christian Embassy, Jerusalem (ICEJ). He sent me a picture of a pregnant woman, her husband and two children returning to their nation of Israel from Europe. He said that the return of that woman with her child fulfilled what God said in Jeremiah 31:8. He also said that hundreds of Jews are returning to their homeland this year, 2020 even in the midst of the Corona Virus pandemic. They are also expecting about seventy other Ethiopian Jews to return to Israel. Those, he said, were the company of Jews, of the tribe of Dan, believed to have left with the Queen of Sheba when she visited Solomon, according to history.

Somewhere in North Eastern India, they also identified some members of the lost tribe of Manasseh who are making their way to their homeland. 

Now, the miracle did not just stop with the restoration of Israel; it continued with the restoration of their language. In the course of their dispersion to different parts of the world, the Hebrew language disappeared.  Everywhere they went, the Jews spoke the language of the people of those places. But God promised to restore their language (Zephaniah 3:9).

The miracle is, not only did the people return, their pure ancient original Hebrew language also returned. This is one of the greatest miracles of their return. It is difficult for a language that has disappeared for even five years to be recovered. There were languages that have disappeared never to be found again. But the Hebrew language disappeared for almost two thousand years and was recovered. 

Beloved, it was predicted in Scripture that one sign of the end time is the restoration of the nation of Israel and their language. This has been fulfilled which means we are already in the end time. So, expect the blast of the trumpet any moment. Ensure that you are ready for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Natural Disasters and conflicts: signs of the end time

The abundance of natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, volcanoes, landslides, tornadoes, cyclones, floods, etc. in diverse places is a sign of the end time.

SCRIPTURE: For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. Matthew 24:7.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The abundance of natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, volcanoes, landslides, tornadoes, cyclones, floods, etc. in diverse places is a sign of the end time.

In our previous studies, we have looked at quite a number of signs of the end time. Drawing attention to these signs is very crucial at a time like this. All the signs of the end time we have seen so far are pointing to the fact that the end is very near. There is a need to increase our dedication and passion for God so we are not taken unawares by rapture. 

Today, we shall yet consider two more signs of the end time:

1. The abundance of natural disasters (Matthew 24:7). 

Today, natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, volcanoes, landslides, tornadoes, cyclones, floods, etc. are on the increase in many parts of the world. 

Sometime ago, we heard of the outbreak of wild fire in California, USA as well as in Australia.

In the year 2005, there was the Hurricane Katrina that ravaged the east coast of the United States of America, especially New Orleans. It destroyed property worth 125 billion dollars and caused the death of one thousand two hundred people. 

This is small when compared with the Tsunami of the Pacific Ocean that happened around Japan. It was a little crack under the earth in the ocean that lasted for only six minutes but it caused fifteen thousand, eight hundred and ninety-nine deaths from the displacement of water that gushed out and engulfed a whole territory. About six thousand, one hundred and forty seven people were injured, two thousand five hundred and twenty-nine people were declared missing. Resources worth three hundred and sixty billion dollars were destroyed by just six minutes of slides in sea water. 

Before now, one hardly hears of natural disasters but they are more rampant these days because we are in the end of time. The devil knows that his time is short and so, he is doing a lot of overtime. 

Beloved, though you may hear of these disasters, they shall never come near your dwelling in Jesus’ Name.

2. The abundance of conflicts and crises in the earth.

Another sign of the end time is the abundance of conflicts and crises in the world (Matthew 24:6). The end time is a time of great upheavals, chaos and unrests. Today, ethnic, communal, religious and political crises and violence have ravaged many parts of the world. We heard of Iraq/Iran War that lasted for many years. What about the Gulf War, Israel under threats from Iran, the Arab Spring Revolution, and the civil unrests in that region including the protracted Civil War in Syria? Sectarian violence and terrorism are on the increase. We live in days where you hear of wars and rumours of wars as if the world is already engulfed in the third World War. These widespread conflicts, crises and wars are signs of the end time.

Beloved, we are in a season where we need God more than ever before. My counsel is, take your refuge in God.

Remember this: The abundance of natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, volcanoes, landslides, tornadoes, cyclones, floods, etc. in diverse places is a sign of the end time.

We are in an era that is characterised by hatred for God more than any other time in history. People hate God, the church, Christians and men of God.

SCRIPTURE: Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 1 John 2:18

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The abundance of anti-Christ, anti-God and anti-Christian sentiments in the earth is a sign that we are already in the end of time.

The scripture made it clear that the end time shall be characterised by widespread hatred for God and His people (Matthew 10:22). The operation of the anti-Christ shall be on the increase in the end time (1 John 2:18).

Now, when we say “anti-Christ” in this context, we are not referring to the principal apocalyptic satanic personality that shall take over the world after the rapture. “Anti-Christ” in this context, refers to all anti-Christian agents of the devil. In the end time, they are personalities who volunteer to propagate the agenda of the devil, thereby working against God and His interest upon the earth. When you see the escalation of anti-Christ, anti-God and anti-Christian sentiments in the earth, know that we are in the end of the age. 

We are in an era that is characterised by hatred for God more than any other time in history. People hate God, the church, Christians and men of God. It is the era where people consider you a fool or being brainwashed for going to church. It is not a surprise. It is the agenda of the devil for the end of times. 

Today, people go on social media, not to offer solutions, but to say what they think is wrong with church and pastors. 

Sometime ago, I asked someone who was making such hateful posts against the church on social media some questions like: “What you are posting on social media, whom do you expect it to change positively? If someone, on account of your posts, decides not to go to church and ends in hell, how do you rescue such a soul? And do you think you can end in heaven by sending someone out of church to hell?”

Beloved, don’t be shocked when people pour venoms on Christ, on the church, and on pastors. Today, building a magnificent church building for God is a challenge but building big cinema halls, breweries or club halls is not a problem at all. If they say that the largest club hall in the world can take more than two hundred thousand people in one night party, there is no challenge, and no one will say anything. But if it is a church building, it is a problem. This is because we are in the end time where everything about the church irritates the devil and his agents (Matthew 10:22).

Now, the greatest challenge is that there are a lot of ignorant, ordinary and good people who are instigated and recruited into these anti-God or anti-Christian sentiments and agenda. These people are incited and they ignorantly join this devilish agenda against God and the church just the same way some people followed Absalom without knowing where they were going (2 Samuel 15:11).

Beloved, despite the hatred for God and His church, God is solidly in control and the church is triumphing. So, make up your mind not to be part of haters of God and His people.

Remember this: The abundance of anti-Christ, anti-God, anti-Christian sentiment in the earth is a sign that we are already in the end of time.

SCRIPTURE: And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.  Matthew 24:11

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Today, we have false apostles, false prophets, false teachers, false brethren, false body parts – chests, hips, eye lashes, etc., and these are the manifestations of the signs of the end.

A major manifestation of the signs of the end is the abundance of falsehood (Matt. 24:11). In the end time, there shall be lies, falsehoods and heresies. There are a lot of false people in our days.

Sometime ago, I travelled to a country in South America and I saw many people who appeared very artificial and unreal. Everything about them appeared exaggerated and unreal – their eye lashes, their hips and chests, etc. were all artificially enhanced and appeared exaggerated. You will be disgusted by their fake appearances and lifestyles. People do surgeries these days to add what is not real to their body. They do surgery to implant artificial breasts, artificial hips, artificial face, artificial eye lashes, artificial nose, etc. You see a person walking on the street, and everything about him/her is not real. That is a false person in motion.

Sometime ago, I watched on a television news about a man who changed himself to a woman through plastic surgery and also changed his name. He died at the age of 47. The question is, how do you think his family members would break the news of his death to the general public? Maybe they will say something like, “We want to announce to the general public that our brother who later became our sister has passed on”. Oh what a falsehood!

In their group family picture that I saw, he was in the midst of his five siblings; three brothers and two sisters. If you saw his sisters, they were real women, and if you saw his brothers, they were real men. But if you saw him amongst his siblings, his appearance was disgusting. Now, he has died and he will meet God to tell Him what made him change from man to woman. What a regrettable eternity!

Today, we have false apostles, false prophets, false teachers, false brethren, false body parts – chests, hips, backs, eye lashes, etc. and these are manifestations of the signs of the end (2 Peter 2:1, Revelation 2:1-2). There is no generation that surpasses our generation in the display of falsehood.

When I was a child, I didn’t hear much of false prophets as I hear these days. It is a sign of the end time. These false prophets pretend to be real; they come as wolves in sheep’s clothing but inwardly, they are ravening wolves (Matthew 7:15). They show so much signs and wonders, that if care is not taken, genuine children of God could be deceived, thinking the signs are from God (Matthew 24:24). But you shall not be deceived in Jesus’ Name.

Beloved, beware of false prophets and false brethren. Refuse to exist in falsehood. Live genuinely as an authentic believer and child of God.

Looking up to a man’s promise can cause frustration! To look up to man is to sign for heartbreak. This is because man can change, man can fail, and man can die.  But there is a God who cannot fail, change or die! He is the Lord that changeth not

SCRIPTURE: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers…2 Timothy 3:1-3.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you encounter a lot of people who promise to do something for you and they change their mind, don’t be surprised. That is truce-breaking, and it is a sign of the end time. 

Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that in the last days, there shall be the multiplication of trucebreakers. The end time is characterized by the abundance of broken promises. Truce-breaking is the order of the day in the end time. The word “truce” implies covenant or agreement. Therefore, trucebreakers means agreement breakers, covenant breakers or promise breakers. 

Agreement breaking is more commonly pronounced in the political world. When people are coming out to contest for elective political offices, they make unrealistic promises they know they cannot fulfil to the people. Yet, they make those promises just to get into power by all means. They are truce breakers! They are covenant breakers!

When it involves money, agreement between two people is always a challenge. In the end time, broken promises shall abound. When you encounter a lot of people who promise to do something for you and they change their mind, don’t be surprised. That is truce-breaking, and it is a sign of the end time. 

Some people make promises, and when you approach them to fulfil their promises, they begin to wonder when they made such promises. That is truce-breaking. It is a sign and symptom of the last days.

The truth is, looking up to a man’s promise can cause frustration! To look up to man is to sign for heartbreak. This is because man can change, man can fail, and man can die.  But there is a God who cannot fail, change or die! He is the Lord that changeth not (Mal. 3:6).

My counsel to you is, don’t be a promise breaker. Don’t say things you know you will not do. Don’t tell lies; be truthful always.

Remember this: When you encounter a lot of people who promise to do something for you and they change their mind, don’t be surprised. That is truce-breaking, and it is a sign of the end time.

The End Time And The Spell Of Covetousness

Covetousness, a strong desire to possess something that belongs to someone else, is driven by the love for money and material things.

SCRIPTURE: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers…2 Timothy 3:1-2.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The love of money usually drives people to extremes, making them do unimaginable evils.

The end time is the time where iniquity shall abound. It is a time characterized by extremes of human wickedness and evil. One of such evils is the spell of covetousness. 

In the end time, men shall be covetous. Covetousness, a strong desire to possess something that belongs to someone else, is driven by the love for money and material things. Today, people allow the love of money and the material things of life to drive them. People place the love of money above consideration for others. When there is an issue of money between two friends, their friendship can hardly survive it.  People lie, cheat, slander, and betray one another because of money. 

The love of money usually drives people to extremes, making them to do unimaginable evils. For instance, the love of money is the reason for kidnapping. Think about this: How can a person kidnap his fellow human being because of money? Who gave such a person the license over the life of another person? How can people take the lives of others that have the same breath of life they have. People carry weapons to kill their fellow human beings in armed robbery, and then use unemployment as an excuse. The question is: are they the only jobless people in town? There are other jobless people who refused to carry arms or resort to crime. 

Another example of unimaginable things people do because of money is mixing of real products with impurities. That is product adulteration. People sell products that are not authentic, thereby jeopardizing the lives of other people.  For example, some people have unknowingly bought petroleum products like kerosene (for domestic cooking) only to realize that it was mixed with some more inflammable substances. This has set many houses on fire, and in most cases, human casualties were recorded. Now, the person who sold the kerosene might have made money but that dubious act took the lives of other people.

Some people were given road construction contracts, and all they did was to divert the funds for personal use. In the end, they constructed substandard roads that collapsed in few months and caused terrible road traffic accidents in which many lives were lost. Do you think God will not require of this wicked contractor the blood of the people who died on such roads? 

What about those who supplied bad medical equipment that ended up killing patients? What about builders who used substandard materials for building houses that eventually collapsed, killing everyone inside? This is what the love of money can cause.

Beloved, covetousness is a sign of the end time. My counsel is, deliver yourself from the grip of covetousness. Dissociate yourself from people whose lives are driven solely by their love for money. My prayer for you is: may any money that will take you to hell never enter your hand, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: The love of money usually drives people to the extremes, making them to do unimaginable evils.

This spell of thanklessness or ingratitude makes people to take both God and their fellow human beings for granted.

SCRIPTURE: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy… 2 Timothy 3:1-2.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: We live in a thankless world, and thanklessness is an epidemic. It is an abnormality.

Our anchor Scripture reveals that in the last days, people shall be unthankful to both God and their fellow human beings. Ingratitude shall abound (2 Timothy 3:1-2). Thanklessness is a sign of the end time; ingratitude is a proof that we are in the last days. 

Thanklessness or ingratitude, as a habit, manifests in different ways in the lives of people. For instance, when you drive on the road and stop for pedestrians to pass, most times, they don’t acknowledge the kind gesture you do to them because they think that it is their right for you to stop for them. This is the typical attitude of people in our generation, the end time generation. 

Also, many husbands don’t usually thank their wives after eating their well-cooked meals. The man eats his wife’s meal all the time but cannot say, “Honey, your food is delicious”. On the other hand, some wives are not thankful to their husbands. They think that it is their right for their husbands to give them money for upkeep and home maintenance. Even children are unthankful to their parents. They see the payment of their school fees as their right. And parents do not thank or commend their children for doing things well or doing well in school. Parents cannot tell their children, “Child, you did well. You made me proud. Congratulations”. 

This spell of thanklessness or ingratitude makes people to take both God and their fellow human beings for granted.

Sometime ago, I wanted to listen to some messages on my iPad but it was not working. I told my wife that the iPad was not working. She said that it could work. She collected it and brought it back the next day with a note that it is working. Then I told her, “Why would it not work? You know your work very well. Thank you for knowing your work and doing it.” I commended her for what she did.

As simple as that may be, some people may decide not to show their appreciation as if no one was responsible for the functioning of the previously faulty iPad.

We live in a thankless world, and thanklessness is an epidemic. It is an abnormality. If you don’t know how to say, “Thank you” to God and to man, then both you and the things around your life will not function normally. 

Beloved, always learn to say “Thank You” both to God and to people when they do something good for you.

In the end time, people will break laws and take laws into their hands. 

SCRIPTURE: You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 2 Timothy 3:1-2 (NLT).

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: In the end time, people will break laws and take laws into their hands.

We have been looking at the signs of the end time in our studies so far. It is very important to take note of these signs in order to be conscious of the days we are living in. Our consciousness of eternity through the awareness of the signs of the end time imparts caution for right living.  

Now, another sign of the end time is the abundance of rebellion and lawlessness. In the end time, people will break laws and take laws into their hands. Another word for lawlessness is rebellion. It is expressed in disobedience to parents, superiors and constituted authorities.

Sometime ago, my wife, Dr Becky Enenche was in a taxi in London. The driver of the taxi told a story about his twelve-year-old daughter. The girl came home one day and said: “Daddy, I have got a boyfriend”. That was unimaginable! And the man asked his daughter, “Oh Yeah! Who is this boyfriend of yours?” And she said, “The boy is my classmate. He is fourteen years old. We just got each other”. Then the man said, “Tell the boy, if he doesn’t stay away from you, I have a gun and I will shoot him”. The girl went and told the boy what the father said. The boy cried and told his teacher that his girlfriend’s father said he would kill him with gun. The next day, police arrived at the man’s house, searched his house and found a gun. Then the boy said, “Yes. I said it! He got a gun to kill me”. But it was a licensed gun. 

We live in a generation where people are rebellious both to God and to constituted authorities. When you see rebellion and disobedience among children to their parents, elders and spiritual authorities, it is a sign that we are already in the end time (2 Timothy 3:1-2-NLT).

My counsel is, refuse to be a law breaker. Refuse to live a life of rebellion and disobedience 

Remember this: In the end time, people will break laws and take laws into their hands.

Lovelessness And Wickedness

SCRIPTURE: And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Matthew 24:12

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The closer we get to the end of the age, the less love we find in the hearts of people.

Scriptures make it very clear that we are in the end of the age (Matthew 24:3, 2 Timothy 3:1). As a generation, we are closer to the end of the age more than ever before. 

Now, as we get closer to the end of the age, there are signs we see everywhere. In medicine, we have signs and symptoms of diseases. The symptoms are the things the patient tells the doctor while the signs are the things the doctor elicits from the patient. In the same way, there are signs and symptoms of the end time. 

In our previous studies, we have already looked at some signs of the end time. 

Today, we shall look at yet another sign, which is the abundance of lovelessness and wickedness (Matt. 24:12). 

Sometime ago, I spoke with a young girl. She told me, “Sir, the woman that calls herself my mother, I wonder if she actually gave birth to me. This is because no mother can be as wicked as she is to a child of her womb”. Wickedness or lovelessness is a sign of the end time. 

We live in a time where parents can say that over their dead body would their own children get married or pregnant. There are people today whose root of suffering in life is from their home – either their mother or father; their uncle or a relation, is behind their predicaments. When they are about to rise in life, they are confronted with diverse resistance, as if to say: “Where do you think you are you going? What do you think you want to become?” And such people usually end up crashing in life as a result of witchcraft manipulations. This is wickedness! It is a sign of the end time. 

We live in a world of terrible wickedness and lovelessness. You should not be surprised about the wickedness of people because wickedness is a sign of the end time. People shall be loveless and wicked. We have heard stories of people who sacrificed their mother or a very close relative for ritual money. One of such persons came to see me in my office some time ago. His eyes were very red. He had killed his mother to get money. Then I asked him, ‘Where is the money now?’, Unfortunately, he had no money! He didn’t get the money after all the atrocity he committed.

Beloved, the closer we get to the end of the age, the less love we find in the hearts of people. Genuine love will not be found anywhere except in God and in the church of Christ. 

Remember this: The closer we get to the end of the age, the less love we find in the hearts of people.

The Vanities of Fleshly pleasure

As a Christian, it is not a sin to have money but it is a sin to allow money to have you. 

SCRIPTURE: For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark. Matthew 24:38

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The devil keeps people busy with the fleshly pleasures of this life to the detriment of their souls in hell fire. 

Earlier, we established that existence in pleasure is a sign of the end time. In the end time, people will exist just for fleshly pleasure. We already highlighted some manifestations of existence in fleshly pleasure as signs of the end time in our previous study. 

Today, we shall explore more dimensions of the vanity of fleshly pleasure.

Sometime ago, a young man, under the influence of alcohol, sat at an alcoholic joint and began to boast about how he kidnapped someone. That was how he was picked by the police. The question is: what did he use the ransom he was paid for kidnapping people for? He obviously used it to drink alcohol. God will deliver our generation from the trap of carnal pleasure. 

As a Christian, it is not a sin to have money but it is a sin to allow money to have you. God is not against you possessing money but never come to a point where you are possessed by money. Many people troop to hell because they are possessed by money. 

One reason why many Americans, Europeans and people from other civilized parts of the world hardly believe in God is that everything is made easy for them. For example, if they are sick, there is medical insurance available to them. Young ladies prefer to give birth to children outside wedlock because the government welfare will take care of both them and their children. To them, it is better to have children outside marriage than having children in a legal marital union. So, the system encourages such kind of wayward and immoral lifestyle. Everything that satisfies their carnal and fleshly pleasure is available to them, so there is hardly a place for God in their lives. In the end time, the devil keeps people busy with the fleshly pleasures of this life to the detriment of their souls. 

Today, there is a rat race of who buys the latest thing in town – who drives the latest car, who builds the latest house, etc. All these are for self-pleasure. They are signs of the end time. 

These days, people experiment with all manner of things. They mix cocaine with other addictive substances and drink; man sleeping with another man; woman sleeping with her fellow woman; human beings sleeping with animals; adults sleeping with children and babies, and all manner of evil being perpetrated in our generation. It is a sign of the end time. I believe the Lord will cause us to escape the destructive pleasure of the end time in Jesus’ Name.

Beloved, make up your mind not to take part in the destructive pleasures of this world.

Remember this: In the end time, the devil keeps people busy with the fleshly pleasures of this life to the detriment of their souls in hell fire.
