HBO Max, Cartoon Network and Lion Forge Animation have green-lit a 2D adaptation of Iyanu: Child of Wonder, the 2017 novel created by Roye Okupe and illustrator Godwin Akpan.

The content giants recently announced the series development which will be financed and produced by Lion Forge animation.

Set in a magical Yoruba kingdom, Iyanu follows a teenage orphan girl who spends her days studying the history and ancient arts of her people but yearns for a normal life.

Nonetheless, one day, responding to danger, she unknowingly triggers her divine powers. With her newly discovered superpowers, Iyanu joins forces with two other teenagers as they embark on a journey to discover the truth about the evil lurking around them.

According to Variety, the series will be created and co-executive produced by Okupe who will also write and direct multiple episodes. Saxton Moore, Lion Forge head of productions, will serve as supervising director.

“When I set out to create ‘Iyanu’ for a global audience, I wanted to develop a world that combined everything I love about the fantasy genre with the majesty and awe that is ancient West Africa,” said Roye Okupe.

“On top of that, working with Godwin Akpan, who illustrated the books, as our art director and collaborating with a thoughtful studio like Lion Forge Animation that prioritizes authenticity and diversity, is beyond belief.”

Other executive producers include Doug Schwalbe, Carl Reed, Lion Forge’s David Steward II and Matt Heath, Impact X Capital’s Erica Dupuis and Forefront Media Group’s Ryan Haidarian while the writer’s room will be led by Brandon Easton.

When people say Peter obi has no structure, I tell them I am one of his structures.
Several years ago, as one of the popular evangelist in Africa, I move around at airports with lots of people as my entourage.

One day I was traveling back to lagos from Abuja, they had just dropped me at the airport and I was going to board my flight . As I walked through the tarmac with one of the FAAN protocol staffs pulling my hand luggage behind me, I turned and behold I saw someone that looked like governor Peter Obi coming behind and pushing his hand luggage himself.

I turned to the protocol guy and said, that guy looks like governor Peter Obi, He answered and said, " yes o na him, e no dey allow anybody help am with him bag”.
I felt so embarrassed for myself, I quickly collected my bag back gave the protocol guy, gave him some money and pulled my bag myself to the plane. Peter Obi did not open the Bible or quote any verse in the Bible but he preached to me the greatest message I have ever heard on humility.

When I got back home, I told my wife what happened to me, how someone was helping me with my hand luggage while a governor was pushing his bag himself.
Now I understand that leadership is by example and humility is one of the greatest signs of a great leader.

For over thirty years now, I sweep the church, wash and iron my clothes, join the ushers in cleaning and arranging of chairs in the church and yet nothing has reduced in my life.

A man came to my house one day and met me sweeping the compound. Without greeting me, he asked if could help him tell pastor Yinka that he was around. I told him to please give me five minutes to finish what I was doing.
He came back two minutes later and asked if I knew who he was, he said, " Pastor Yinka will be very angry with you if he knows you kept me waiting for this long” not knowing he was talking to pastor Yinka himself.

If we are going to get a good leader and President in Nigeria, we must look out for a humble man like Peter Obi.

The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has said that his government if elected in 2023 will not probe past administrations, adding "those who only look at yesterday and today will miss tomorrow.´

The former governor of Anambra State, who stated this while fielding questions from journalists shortly after unveiling Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed as his running mate, said that instead of chasing thieves, his government would rather block leakages in the system and move forward.

According to him, “As for probing the past government, let me tell you; you see me argue that you can’t close your shop and be chasing thieves, those who only look at yesterday and today will miss tomorrow. God did not give us eyes at the back, mine is to look forward.

“If you come into the government today and decide to stop the leakage first, you will get more. I am not going to be part of any form of victimisation or witch-hunt, it won’t happen. Nigerians must live within law and order.

“But I can tell you right away. If you, the principal person, the local government chairman, the governor or the President are not stealing, your family is not, and those around you are not, you will reduce it by 70 per cent.”
