You IPOB guys are impossible to understand, you accuse others of not letting you go, but you refuse to leave the land of the people you accuse of not letting you go. It is like the people of Israel refusing to leave Egypt after pharoah told them to go, because they helped build Egypt. You people hate hausa and yoruba so much but want to continue living with them on their lands.
Yes Jews live and own properties in Europe, America, Asia, Australia and Africa, because the Jews have never spewed hatred against the people of the lands they live in. The minute they start hating and insulting their host countries or communities, they would be shown the way out.

What could have caused so much hatred between Yoruba and Igbo ( comment I read on this forum ) is my basis of inference ?

Business / Re: Why We Should Reject The N10,000 Withdrawal Limit by ADEMOSU(m): 7:58pm On Jun 13, 2016
maximunimpact:
We reported earlier on “a proposal to limit the over the counter cash withdrawal by bank customers to N10,000 which has been tabled before the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The Sub-committee on Payments Systems and Infrastructure of the Bankers Committee last week sent the proposal to the CBN. The proposal was presented at the committee’s meeting but it is not clear whether it was considered. The CBN is expected to “give feedback on the request”.

The banks by the proposal want to further compel bank customers to use e-banking channels, e.g. ATMs, internet banking etc. However when there is a dispute involving transactions on any of those channels it takes a long time before they are resolved and customers often go through harrowing experiences before a resolution is reached. For instance in cases of ATM dispense errors (i.e. ATM fails to dispense cash but customer account is debited) involving the ATMs of two different banks, it takes sometimes over a month before there is a reversal of the debit and in some instances there is no reversal at all and the banks will go to court insisting that there was a withdrawal without providing conclusive evidence of such withdrawals like ATM camera footages as required by CBN guidelines. See for e.g. the cases of KUME BRIDGET ASHIEMAR vs. GUARANTYTRUST BANK PLC (GTB) & UNITED BANK FOR AFRICA (UBA) PLC, Suit No: MHC/198/14 and BARR. TIMOTHY TION vs.FCMB LTD & UBA PLC. (Suit No. MHC/161/16), pending before the Benue State High Court of Justice, Makurdi.

Further evidence of how it takes long for ebanking disputes between banks and customers to be resolved can be found in my own case where I sent an email to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN’s) Consumer Protection Department (cpd@cbn.gov.ng) over a disputed ATM withdrawal since December, 2015 and I did not get any response whatsoever from the Consumer Protection Department till date.

It is even doubtful if there are enough ATMs to service customers who will have to resort to ATM withdrawals if across the counter cash withdrawal is limited to N10,000.

I therefore, call on the CBN and bank customers to reject the proposal by Deposit Money Banks to limit over the counter cash withdrawal by bank customers to N10,000.

The following stories illustrate the suffering bank customers in Nigeria go through using e-banking channels especially ATMs:

http://www.financialwatchngr.com/2016/06/13/reject-n10000-withdrawal-limit/

There are pros and cons to the idea of 10k withdrawal limit . most important thing is to doing first thing first by :
- Ensuring and enforcing prompt resolution of dispense error
- High level security on payment cards and alternate channels
-friendly usage of alternate channel which will require little or no assistance e.g ATM in local language
-availability of ATM machines etc .

Politics / Re: Abacha's 18th Year Of Death: Full Text Of Abacha’s Coup Speech by ADEMOSU(m): 9:49pm On Jun 08, 2016
harbdulrasaq88:

Today marks the 18th year of the death of General Sani Abacha, former Nigerian military Head of State.

Abacha was born on September 20, 1943 and lived an eventful life until June 8, 1998 when he died in power.

The first administration of Muhammadu Buhari as Military Head of State was carefully planned and executed by General Sani Abacha who alongside other officers, overthrew the democratically elected government of Shehu Shagari on December 31, 1983.

Upon the success of the coup, Sani Abacha announced the institution of a Federal Military Government in a nationwide broadcast, while explaining his reasons for toppling the government of the day.

Read a copy of the speech below.

PRESIDENT SHAGARI IS OVERTHROWN: SPEECH OF

BRIGADIER SANI ABACHA, DECEMBER 1, 1984 – RETURN OF

MILITARY RULE

Fellow countrymen and women, I, Brigadier Sani Abacha, of the Nigerian army address you this morning on behalf of the Nigerian armed forces.

You are all living witnesses to the great economic predicament and uncertainty, which an inept and corrupt leadership hasnimposed on our beloved nation for the past four years. I am referring to the harsh, intolerable conditions under which we are now living. Our economy has been hopelessly mismanaged. We have become a debtor and beggar nation. There is inadequacy of food at reasonable prices for our people who are now fed up with endless announcements of importation of foodstuffs. Health services are in shambles as our hospitals are reduced to mere consulting clinics without drugs, water and equipment. Our educational system is deteriorating at an alarming rate. Unemployment figures including the undergraduates have reached embarrassing and unacceptable proportions. In some states, workers are being owed salary arrears of eight to twelve months and in others there are threats of salary cuts.

Yet our leaders revel in squandermania, corruption and indiscipline, and continue to proliferate public appointments in complete disregard of our stark economic realities. After due consultations over these deplorable conditions, I and my colleagues in the armed forces have in the discharge of our national role as promoters and protectors of our national interest decided to effect a change in the leadership of the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and form a Federal Military Government. This task has just been completed.

The Federal Military Government hereby decrees the suspension of the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1979 relating to all elective and appointive offices and representative institutions including the office of the President, state governors, federal and state executive councils, special advisers, special assistants, the establishment of the National Assembly and the Houses of Assembly including the formation of political parties.

Accordingly, Alhaji Shehu Usman Shagari ceases forthwith to be the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria . All the incumbents of the above named offices shall, if they have not already done so, vacate their formal official residences, surrender all government property in their possession and report to the nearest police station in their constituencies within seven days.

The clerk of the National Assembly, the President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives shall, within two weeks, render account of all the properties of the National Assembly. All the political parties are banned; the bank account of FEDECO and all the political parties are frozen with immediate effect. All foreigners living in any part of the country are assured of their safety and will be adequately protected.

Henceforth, workers not on essential duties are advised to keep off the streets. All categories of workers on essential duties will, however, report at their places of work immediately. With effect from today, a dusk to dawn curfew will be imposed between 7pm and 6am each day until further notice. All airways flights have been suspended forthwith and all airports, seaports, and border posts closed. External communications have been cut. The Customs and Excise, Immigration and the Police will maintain vigilance and ensure watertight security at the borders. The area administrators or commanders will have themselves to blame if any of the wanted people escape.

Fellow countrymen and women, the change in government has been a bloodless and painstaking operation and we do not want anyone to lose his or her life. People are warned in their own interest to be law abiding and to give the Federal Military Government maximum cooperation. Anyone caught disturbing public order will be summarily dealt with. For avoidance of doubt, you are forewarned that we shall not hesitate to declare martial law in any area or state of the federation in which disturbances occur.

Fellow countrymen and women and comrades at arms, I will like to assure you that the Armed Forces of Nigeria is ready to lay its life for our dear nation but not for the present irresponsible leadership of the past civilian administration. You are to await further announcements, 1 NIGERIA!

Sarcasm!! Looking at prevailling situation in the country Abacha seems to me an economist with best foresight . He was able to forsee that Nigeria will be broke in the future and he kept the monies in foreign accounts for rainings days !!! grin

Now lets face it.... Nigeria as we know it have gone to the dogs. Balkanization is imminent unless we salvage it through True Federalism.
Maybe Buhari is the man needed to help grind Nigeria to a halt where True federalism becomes attractive to hard sworn opponents.

Who in his right senses would ever think force would restore crude production in the Niger Delta. Both History and common sense has proven its impossible to increase oil production in the face of insurgency. Even the major oil companies cannot continue production amidst explosions and crossfires. The more Buhari mobilizes warships, gunboats and military to the region, the more the IOCs evacuates their personnel and services from the region.

What is so hard about understanding that there is no hope for a united Nigeria without True Federalism? What is wrong with the black man?

Dear writer ,

If you were to place Nigeria problem in order of hierarchy which come first

Insecurity Corruption , poverty , lack of good economic policy and true federalism .

We can't solve a problem from the top .true federal can't be practise by unscrupulous and insincere politician

I reported on May 27th how Diamond Bank sacked over 400 staff on that black morning. I went on to reveal the mode in which this was done.
It seems that hurricane isn't over yet, I can now exclusively reveal that the Bank is set to sack 80 percent of their entire manager cadre. The managers who earn from 1.2 million and above plus entitlements and allowances that outweigh theirs salaries will have to wait and see who survives and who goes. It was revealed that the GM Uzoma Dozie son of Pascal Dozie is willing to promote some junior workers who can also be efficient in those positions. This was said to be in a bid to further cut the wage bill and save the bank.
these are sad times for bankers, we pray for them.

Can't really see reason for the broadcast of supposed classified info but not really good for the brand nor do any good to the employees the poster of the trend can as well list the name of sacked employees then .
