Captainus,
are u sure about the TV3 frequency?it is not on lyngsat neither could i pick it when i scanned a few minutes ago.

GeorgeD,
sorry for the delay.I had to switch on my generator to be able to power everything.no regular electricity since new year eve.

all,
the site to pick sky italia keys is www.anaimgr.com. I am sorry for the mix-up.It uses videoguard encryption.Ols check if Echolink has provision for it,and input manually.Strong receivers do not have it.you can pick portuguese la=liga feed on nss7 c band 3830 v 2893 SPORT TV AFRICA.Supersports picks its feed there too.it is also on intel907 with NTA.
@ talksonaija, that freq is no big deal,it's was working ok

@adewest

what is your advice? it has come to point that i must have showsport. meanwhile, i was at ALABA yesterday but was told that there was no original 2.4m eurostar in the market.
@ Olofofo, just get one 1.8m install here in bauchi and send the wire underground down to Lagos like some GSM operators does.Just joking grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

I will gist u later on my MIKE TANGO NOVEMBER.U Copied that ?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by adewest(m): 7:42pm On Jan 01, 2009
pitodenz:
@ fofo
my brother take my advice<don't go for any local 3.0M dish. The pic is a 3.0m dish bought from kaduna by a member iwe, could u believe that after the installation mbc signal vanish in the afternoon.Butoneday here got even bbc on his 2.4m strong dish and with 3.0m fiber dish he was getting the same reception. If u re doubting if 2.4m eurostar dish can be able to give u showsports,go for 4m fiber dish and don't waste ur money in any local made pan dish.(the dish in the pic was installed with digisat lnbf)
@ Pitodenz, have u forgotten that all the Nigerian hand made DISH,be it fiber or steel it is by luck that u get an accurate one that produces a super signal. So stop specifying that one is better than one, don't be surprise to see that some 4m fiber due to some little offset on the mold could not work showsport in Lagos while u will see some 3m fibre work on showspot. So my friend if u are a fiber maker, try put ur self on research that makes ur work a highly efficient one.You can do better than how ur master thought you i.e by experimenting ur self. You all can agree with me that average Nigerian like a copy and paste job don't want to sacrifice time and money that is mostly our problem.

@ Twinstaiye, thanks for the call. And to let u know 1.8m dish can works all tps on nilesat (Even tp 11996H-27500) in Abuja i have one motorize install at my inlaw resident at Maraba all Nile signal are ok
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by adewest(m): 6:36pm On Jan 01, 2009
@olofofo,
Why don't you just go for fibre? At that price (37K) which Adewest is calling I'm sure you can get a good quality one in Lagos that will give you all you want. Not all fibre makers are that bad. Or, do you have anything in particular against fibre?

i hope say u go provide traffic warder for him to clear the heavy traffic congestion while transporting jumbo-jumbo. grin grin grin.
Wishing u all a prosperous new year.

still waiting on reply to my last question regarding the 3m locally made dish in KD.
That it cost about 37k,it's tested by the maker before packaging it to whom is buying it,that i was told by the owner and i have not visited the loc in kad before.what other info r u asking for ?

@ George D

i can see what this ur diablocam is pushing u into. U can only get 3m eurostar pan only by special request fm the importers but they r damn too expensive ranging between 85K.U must be ready to invest hugely if u venture into all this diablo,Magic cam and others abi u wan creat ur own rebrocasting TV channels grin grin grin

@ Olofofo,

The cost of the 3m locally made pan in Kaduna i was told it cost about 37K. From the maker the pan will be tested on some birds to ascertain perfect svcability before packaging it for the buyers. In my own view sha the pan signal was satisfactory.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by adewest(m): 10:32pm On Dec 28, 2008
@ talks, i was invited to m/guri Y/DAY for installation of 3m local pan manufacture in kaduna, digitalb on Eutelsat w2 was received perfectly, signal as in strong 4651 was 45% in that tp on the 3m but on 2.4m eurostar the signal is damn poor. 2.4m in bauchi here can't make it on that bird except 4m .Am currently on duty tonight power failure currently i can not wait 4u my bty is down both the Lap and my browser multilink phone so try me on my GOLF-SERIAL-MIKE.Full stop

before my phone battery dies i will make this last post. @ adewest, will 1.8m get hotbird at abuja? it doesnt matter if na only 2 tps will show green. i guess am right? even wit 2.4m u wont still get everything up there.
u dey try no be small.Well done nairaland comedian
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by adewest(m): 9:44pm On Dec 27, 2008
@ Twinstaiye, uncle i thought ur 2.4m setup was motorize, trying to split ku on dish for nile and hotbird at the sometime for this Nigeria horizon is very impossible as the subject down-link beam is not towards our horizon but can be achievable 100% when u r motorize.Hope u can a distinguished btw a signal that is DTH (direct to home) and which is not, as for the dth sig, they can be split to a dish while weaker beam e.g Nilesat will maintain the central vocal point.
As relating to tracking hot bird at abuja the possibility is very ok but not with 1.8m dish as specified by my big bros in the house.Note that 1.8m can track only few transponder on hotbird but the most advance chs on it might not b absorb except with the invitation of it senior brother 2.4m gbam

@ Olofofo, ur strategy is mainly known to u and our creator. If u invite me, i go come and if u do otherwise i will stay o my brother after all people wey know all yesterday where r they today, this life na jeje o

@all

I was able to track hotbird yesterday nigth with my 2.4m dish. the signal level was encouraging,I got over 200 channels including art sports and movies. I also got almost all the sky italian package.

The signal range is between 51-65%,there are lots of other tps that may move later. the eurobird in question is that of 25.5 d east very close to arabsat, the signal level is sometime higher than nile, but most of th channels are blocked, excep you have abracadabra card you wont enjoy it. The best way to enjoy it is to motorise you dish.
The best is yet to arrive man,try move higher and see what is on EUTELSAT W2 in which the abra card give spt on ditalAlb package u wil kiss it because is a top gun channels.Goodluck

@ twinstaiye and all echolink abracard users, please note that u can sometime achieve upgrade via sat on ART package when ur dish is still log on the nilebird as at when the upgrade is rel via sat.And for those making there upgrade via RS232 point(manual download),after ur initial download stay patient as the ART parkage takes some moment to respond so don't get yourself BORED just keep ur receiver chn on B4U while idle and enjoy

That man at suleja na wetin u dey track wey normal N500 ku no go track, nilesat or hispasat. Santech may not even be better than some of this cheeper and original ku LNB e.g stargold, supermas, premium Lazer and DIGISAT .That prise too much and after all Niger state abuja fall on the northern zone where u can achieve better signal on 1.8m dish on all tps of NILESAT,so why bordering yourself with 10k lnb WEY 1K LNB no fit do.

@ talkonaija, am sending the list tonight and be careful of looking for cheaper goods because this is naija where u find all sort of imitated goods.

@ all please make ur order now o.

align on my-tv Africa (PAS10/KU)

For all Lagos resider who is interested in the general orbital sat-dish plus nilesat less show-sport signals,it's so much more than DSTV when u are motorise with this 1.8m stronger dish. Any interested member should call my number for inclusion during my next trip to Lagos because it might cost u very-very less and so much more to view.

@ A friend by name TUNDE, please take note of the KU-digisat LNB allignment bellow and use the upper hole of ur focal lenght just as u sees it on that 1.8m STRONGER dish,ur echolink and items shall get to u hopefully next tmr morning and try give me a call.

it's align on nilesat bird

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by adewest(m): 1:09am On Dec 14, 2008
@ Pitodence,Salute to u. Have u ever try using a dish called STRONGER of 1.8m to track nilebird ? (it's diferent fm  strong dish o), i bet u that dish is final(excellent), that even sometime u can achieve almost thesame signal on nilesat produce by 2.4m on it. Though, not thesame dish i took to Lagos anyway but ordinary strong dish.
As regards to tracking hotbird within that ur Geos, the possibility is 68% ok using 1.8m dish for if u can achieve at least 73% signal quality on freq 11476H-29.000sr i.e on Eutelsat w4(dstv) @36 deg east using either strong model X or 4652.Then motorise upward using freq 10949V-27500sr on hotbird or within that bird where u watch ur premiership(2M nat freq 11671V-02480sr),Arriadia,Aflam and 2m alternative-freq11653V-15696sr  Keep beeping ur jerk gradually in upward directn above this 2M bird and take unblinkable notice of where the the hotbird freq 10949V-27500sr will attempt shoot-up increase in signal qual, then carry out ur normal tweaking for effective signal output.
And how far is Enugu to port, because i once visited Enugu with 1.8m dish and some
signal responded on nilesat  better than Lagos.

@ obnelly, please take note of some infos above.

@ Ghana fta groups, the possibility of Nile is 52% possible fm my own view, because  at Kenema in sierra-leone Nilesat responded perfectly o.k with 3m mesh dish.

@ talksonaija, i arrived bauchi y/day morning but it wasn't easy.On reaching the entry point at jos around 7.00pm all i see was the presence of MILITARY MEN/MOPOLS and long cue of vehicles parked by the road side that there is no movement of vehs/pers fm 6.00pm-6.00am. My bro. i have to hang in that cold till the following day 6.00am,no blanket to even cover-up so why i told u that my voice as hibernated. Am still having  some problem with this my internet network provider MULTILINKS, but they promise to connect me very soon, as u know i dislike the idea of browsing at internet cafe for sy reason. So when ever am connected u will always hear fm me promptly.

alcove x:
this is my first post on nairaland.

I'm happy about all the developments in the forum since season 1 till date.

i live in suleja, niger state and work in abuja, fct. my set up is a 1.8 meter dish for nilesat which i have been using since 7 years ago.

ive been installing nilesat and others as a hobby since i got my first set up.

my main reason of joining the forum is to see what little info i can contribute from my experience at installing nilesat and also learn from other members as i have been doing since season 1.

i appreciate effort to get nilesat on 1.8mtr dish down south as i regard it as a breakthrough on the part of members of the forum. i am however suprised that nobody had mentioned or said anything about 2 lnbf's i belieeve would be of great help in tracking nilesat
the first one is SANTECH UNIVERSAL KU BAND LNBF (0.5DB NOISE FIGURE) costs between #2,500 tio #3,500 here in abuja/suleja. this lnbf gives about 10% more signal strenght than most lnbf's if tweeked properly.

the second is STARGOLD UNIVERSAL KU BAND LNBF (0.3DB NOISE FIGURE) also costs about the same price as the one above. it gives about 8% additional signal.

@ George_D,

you can get any of the above lnbf in wuse zone 3 neighbourhood centre to solve your nilesat/ other ku band frequency problems. they are by far better than the premium 2 you mentioned in your post(s).
@ alcove X,that STARGOLD KU IS BETTER OF THAT SANTECH in signal reception but try and identify between the old and the new modern of stargold,as the old modern with a shinning patch of original stamp is as good as Digisat ku. But did u know that signal 10758v-27500sr on nileast can be receivable fm Lokoja- up North90cm and other smaller dish,so if this is case no point making selection of KU-LNB within those region except  place fm ilorin- extending up south where the signal is so hard so then u can start making ur choice of the best KU LNB.But my brother that price for that ku no too much so?
