UNCLE OWUSU. After living in the UK for 38 years and at the age of 71, Uncle Owusu finally relocated to Ghana this year to live in his 6-bedroom house which took him 9 years to complete. Now in Ghana and in his house, Uncle Owusu lives in the living room of the house downstairs while his caretaker lives upstairs in his huge master bedroom. This is because Uncle Owusu cannot climb the stairs without the help of another person. Even with help, it takes him 15 minutes to make the climb. As such, Uncle Owusu has decided to stay downstairs in the living room as all 6 bedrooms are upstairs. The house has a living room, toilet and kitchen downstairs; 3 rooms on the first floor and another 3 rooms (including the master bedroom) on the second/last floor. This is surely not how Uncle Owusu anticipated his retirement. But that is the reality of his journey. This will be the life of many other Africans living abroad and building mansions back home. In fact, if you are building a dream house for yourself to live in and the house is not ready by the time you attain the age of 50, forget about it! Uncle Owusu virtually wasted 38 years of his life doing menial jobs abroad, hoping to go and retire back home in his mansion and enjoy life. But, now he has no life to enjoy and someone else is sleeping in his master bedroom. Like most aged persons, Uncle Owusu is not even able to enjoy a bottle of Malt at his age because it will shoot up his blood sugar level. Yet, he said he was working hard all his life in order to enjoy life, which includes eating and drinking the finest foods and drinks, when he retires. Now, he is only able to eat fruit and vegetable salads - and even that, without dressing! He cannot even eat any of the fine meats out there without his cholesterol sending warning signs. That is the life of Uncle Owusu in retirement? This will be the story of more than half of us. The best thing to do is to take mini-retirements now and enjoy the luxuries of life now that you still have the strength to do so! We must all learn a lesson from the story of Uncle Owusu. May Uncle Owusu never happened to us.

Jose Mourinho is a sore loser, as simple as that! |
I don't blame bloggers because they are doing the job that earns them a living. It wasn't started today about the issue of reporting bad news about celebrities whereby making money and enriching their own pockets whereas they don't really care if the person's image is tarnished forever. Moral of the story, if you are a celebrity just try and live a life of privacy and leave your family out of social media. |
Reelmii:What about the Reverend father that just won in Benue State Sir? |
Ayo Fayose is truly a politician that premeditates what will happen, a video was posted of his interview with Channels TV with all his political permutations but people didn't take him serious, politics is surely a deadly game!!! |
Akogun Lere Oyewunmi really deserves this Senatorial victory. He is a strong politician from Ikire in Osun State and he is someone I knew well. Congrats to him. |
Joke of the day!!! A beer company was hiring a taster, Someone to taste the beers before they are taken for selling. So they placed adverts and one afternoon, my father walked into the manager's office asking to be employed. The manager tried to figure out how he could drive him away but couldn't come up with an idea, so he decided to give him a trial. He ordered his secretary to give him a glass of wine 🍷 He took a sip and said, "It's Red wine, Varietal, three years old, grown on rift valley, matured in steel containers." "That's correct!" The manager exclaimed, "Well give him another one let's see." So he was given. He took a sip again and said, "It's Guinness, a combination of barley, roast malt extract, and brewers yeast brewed around Thika road in Nairobi, Kenya 2 years ago" "Incredible!" said the manager. Now the manager went closer to the secretary and whispered to her saying, "Go get some of your urine in a cup let's see if he will get that." So my father was given the cup of urine. He took a sip, turned to the manager and said, "Female urine, 26 years old, 2 weeks pregnant and if I'm not given this job, Sir I will tell your wife who is responsible for the pregnancy" both the manager and the secretary fainted 😁😳 My father got the job✌ |
It is not because of suffering (even some workers are suffering); not because there are no jobs (there are small jobs everywhere but they pay peanuts. People don't kidnap their boss because he didn't pay them well (if this is the case, then they should not ask for ransom of more than 500k). We all want to be rich, but some of us are staying on the good side of the road. Therefore, the reason that some people go into kidnapping and fraud, is that they lack SELF-CONTROL. QUESTION: So what was it that finally pushed them to the stealing and killing road? ANSWER: They heard of the CRAZY MONEY that people (especially politicians) steal from the masses and wire into their 16 personal foreign bank accounts. They heard of the MAD MONEY that some people (especially politicians) steal from the people and shovel into air-conditioned holes and storehouses (until rats start to eat the money). Then they said to themselves "Òlé l'evribody" (everybody is a a thief), and they left the reasonable lane. So let's try and control ourselves when we hear about crazy money, and let's not steal when we become politicians.

[As for your wife, in case you are wondering what becomes of her and how she will cope or whether she might still come back to beg or resume back her place as a wife.......Try to imagine a very beautiful and attractive bird caught and kept in a cage for 2 years and then one day returned back to the wild where it was captured and released from the cage. She will be perfectly and wonderfully fine. Defintely true! |
With the way things are going, I dont think election will takes place in Nigeria next year. Mark my words! |
Elisabeth Borne, the French minister for labour, has been appointed prime minister – the first woman to hold the post in more than 30 years and only the second female prime minister in modern French history. “I dedicate this nomination to all the little girls in France, to tell them, ‘Follow your dreams’,” Borne said while taking office. “Nothing should stop the fight for women’s place in our society.” Borne, 61, an engineer with a long career in government ministries, the senior civil service, public administration and state businesses, was chosen by Emmanuel Macron for the difficult task of delivering his complex policy promises at the start of his second term, against a background of rising inflation and the war in Ukraine. Borne is the first French female prime minister since Édith Cresson, who briefly headed the cabinet from May 1991 to April 1992 under the Socialist president François Mitterrand. “It’s more than time,” Cresson told BFMTV when asked how it felt to see a second woman head the government. Cresson had warned this weekend that French politics remained “macho”. A total of 74% of French people said they wanted a female prime minister, according to an Ifop poll this weekend. Macron, whose government had featured equal numbers of women and men, had nonetheless been accused of surrounding himself with a mainly male group of advisers and confidants. Borne’s first task is to manage the different political factions of Macron’s centrist grouping who need to win a parliamentary majority in elections next month if Macron is to have a free hand for his planned overhaul of pensions and the welfare state. If Macron wins a majority, from this summer, Borne must extend caps on energy prices and introduce further measures to address voters’ concerns about making ends meet amid the cost of living crisis. She is then tasked with leading Macron’s unpopular plans to push back the pension age from 62 to either 64 or 65, which are expected to spark trade union opposition and street protests. Borne will also be given a new brief of overseeing what Macron has promised will be a radical new form of “green planning” to limit carbon emissions and boost environment policy. Borne is a faithful Macron supporter who held three key ministerial jobs during his first term: transport, environment and labour. She earned a reputation for taking on difficult policies and pushing them through, including Macron’s sweeping reforms to the state rail system, which triggered the biggest strikes in decades. The Macron ally Christophe Castaner had nicknamed the straight-talking Borne “minister of impossible reforms made possible”. Macron, 44, registered a solid victory in last month’s presidential election against the far-right leader Marine Le Pen, winning by 58.5% to Le Pen’s 41.5%. But he acknowledged that many French people, particularly on the left, had voted for him to keep out the far right. He has promised to change his top-down, centralised way of doing politics and consult more, broadening his base. Borne, who was in government for the whole of Macron’s first term, symbolises continuity. Macron’s opponents were quick to attack her appointment. Le Pen, who is running for re-election to parliament, said: “Emmanuel Macron has shown his incapacity to unite people and the will to continue his politics of looking down on people, deconstructing the state and wrecking the social [security system], of fiscal rackets and laxism.” The radical left’s Jean-Luc Mélenchon tweeted that Borne’s appointment meant “the continuity of the president’s policies”. He tweeted: “A new season of social and environmental mistreatment begins.” Borne’s personal background on the centre left is crucial for Macron, particularly in the run-up to the parliament elections. In his first term, Macron – whose project was described as “neither right nor left” when he won the presidency in 2017 – had appointed two prime ministers from the right. He is under pressure to win back voters on the centre left in the parliamentary elections. Mélenchon recently persuaded the Socialist, Communist and Green parties to enter an alliance under his leadership for the parliamentary elections, that unites the left around a common platform for the first time in decades. The left is seeking to increase its seats in parliament. Borne’s long career has included advising key ministers under the Socialist presidents Mitterrand and François Hollande as well as working in Paris city hall when it was run by the Socialist Bertrand Delanoë. She never joined the Socialist party, and she is the first of Macron’s prime ministers to be a card-carrying member of his centrist party, which was recently renamed Renaissance. Borne has described being personally driven by efficiency, rather than hogging the limelight. “For me, doing politics is not about getting people to talk about me at any price, it’s about dedicating myself to delivering projects in the service of my country,” she told France Inter radio last year. “Politics is not about pushing myself to the front of stage.”

”Every minute someone leaves this world behind. We are all in “the line” without knowing it. We never know how many people are before us. We can not move to the back of the line. We can not step out of the line. We can not avoid the line. So while we wait in line - Make moments count. Make priorities. Make the time. Make your gifts known. Make a nobody feel like a somebody. Make your voice heard. Make the small things big. Make someone smile. Make the change. Make love. Make up. Make peace. Make sure to tell your people they are loved. Make sure to have no regrets. Make sure you are ready.”

Emmanuel Macron didn't deserved to be re-elected because over the last five years he has failed the populace by increasing taxes and majority of French people called him the President of the riches but I think the French people choose him over Marine Le pen who is a racist like her father and her aim is to send back all the immigrants to their country of origin. If Jean-Luc Melenchon had qualified for the second round of votes he would have been elected President. |
I wonder what those guys are thinking before embarking on a dangerous journey through the desert to get to Europe? Do you think it is rosy on that side? My advice is for the Nigerian Government to put things in order, If there are jobs and stable electricity in the country, The citizens will be motivated and thoughts of leaving the country for greener pastures abroad would be eradicated totally. |
6 great things many Christians do, but will not qualify them for heaven : As with some other religions of the world, Christianity teaches that beyond this world, there is a heaven. Faithful Christians will only be able to get to heaven if they live according to the principles of God, as written in the bible. There are certain things that are expected of a Christian, certain practices that are in line with the divine will, as to make one a candidate for God's heavenly kingdom. Some of these practices below are seen by many Christians as that which gets them eligible for heaven, however, this may not be the case. After examining the practices, we will find out the real reason why these things do not necessarily make a person a heaven candidate. Below are the compiled a list of things Christians do but will not guarantee them a spot in heaven : 1. Baptism For many christian denominations, baptism be it by sprinkling or by immersion, is a requirement to enter God's kingdom. Christ himself argued that except a man be born of the water and of the spirit, he cannot see heaven. Many Christians therefore believe that the moment they accept Christ and get baptized, then they are saved forever. But is once saved always saved? 2. Holy Communion Christ asked his disciples to symbolically eat of his flesh and drink of his blood, a practice done in remembrance of his death and the price he paid on Calvary. So at certain times, Christians get to partake of the holy communion. Ordinarily, an individual is supposed to be prepared and keep him or herself clean spiritually, before taking part in this exercise, but these days, many do not deem it necessary to sanctify themselves before the feast. 3. Prayer For many Christians this is their favorite, in that it helps them communicate to God the father like a friend, though when you see some pray, it seems like a war. Prayer is the means of communicating with heaven, having God hear as He says ask. It is sad though that there are many who have the gifts of prayer who in the end would not see the kingdom of God. 4. Paying tithes and offerings To Christians, this is about the best way to get blessings from God. Giving offerings and setting aside a tenth of ones income, many do this with joy and gladness, others rob God. There are some people who believe that so long as they give offerings and pay tithes, they are candidates for heaven, but is that so? 5. Healing the sick Healing the sick is part of Christ's injunction to his disciples, there are many who are physically and spiritually ill, they need to be made whole. This is a very important duty, however, there are many who go to church just for miracles and healing, it is quite questionable what happens after these people have received that which they seek. 6. Evangelism Winning souls for the kingdom of God is a big directive given to Christians in the bible. There are many evangelists these days and many churches which claim they are in the business of winning souls for the Lord, but are they really doing that, or getting followers for their pockets? Having gone through this list, one wonders why a person will do all these things and still not make heaven. The reason is quite simple, even Christ said in the end many who call him Lord will be cast away, because they only profess with their lips, but deep in their hearts and acts, they are far away. Depending on these practices alone as a means to get to heaven is a faulty ideology, the heart must be in-tune with God as do his divine will. Lastly, regardless our religion, the way we interact with people is very essential. You cannot love God and hate your neighbour. Is it not baffling that many leaders today claim to belong to one religion or the other, still they are often found wanting. Nigeria today is highly corrupt, yet we have one of the highest numbers of churches in the world. We must begin to see and do things different, service to God and man is key. |

I was in a job interview today when the manager handed me his laptop and said, "I want you to try and sell this to me." So I put it under my arm, walked out of the building and went home. Eventually he called my mobile and said, "Bring it back here right now!" I said, "$200 and it's yours." ![]() |
