In my opinion, I would say 1. Dubai (acclaimed to be the most with opportunities) 2. Abu Dhabi 3. The rest which people barely go looking for jobs expect for cheap accommodation which I don't think is wise to but money factor I guess. Bed space is as what you pay. Thanks

I have chosen not to say or give you a so so so and so chance of getting a job in 1 month, 2 months, 4,months etc. Like everybody here has said the jobs are scarce or almost not available and as per what kind of, all types are available, you or the circumstance(s) can choose which will end up being yours. Its and employers' world here. Again it's your choice to be here or not. Thanks

Actually, I have read whole thing about people advising coming or not to come to UAE. In my opinion I would say there are some like me who still came here and in no time got a job while some I met in my room then are on their 2nd visa change and all that.
My point is if, you have "chosen" to come, you've read everything all here on the thread, they are real, the good, the bad, the ugly. I read the same thing from page 0 too. The guy who encouraged me to come got a job in 10days and I got mine 2 days after I landed, to God be the glory.

We all carry different grace. It's still remain anybody's choice to come here or not. Knowledge is power.

Please any exchange guys in Abu Dhabi

Hi guys... I really don't know if I my questions is right on this thread or if there's another but I would love answer(s) please.

I am contemplating applying for a visit visa during my annual vacation from here (UAE, Of course I am a Nigerian) or coming to Nigeria then apply, then I stumbled upon " one can go wed in the US (my fiancée who is in Canada and has a US visa) with the same visit visa, both are genuine intentions), I want to know which one should I stick to, to land the visa (with higher chances) and documents to support any.

Thanks for your time.

Hi house, I was wondering if anybody has had the experience or someone who has applied for a US visit visa from UAE as a Nigerian. What are the requirements, documents etc? Applying from UAE or going back to apply from Nigeria? Which is better? We all have our different reasons for leaving Nigeria

I didn't even see this before replying the previous as I was catching up from the last page I last read. All the best in making your decisions prayerful. Very important!
LeRoyACCA:

Good advise nnamdi16.

I have actually thought of the Canadian Skilled Immigrant via Express Entry. One of my professional body-ACCA has an MOU with the Canadian Accounting body (CPA & CGA).All one need do is to write an online Canadian tax and law exams and you'll be giving the certifications. Many of my x colleagues have gone using this route.

In a similar vein, ACCA also has an MOU with the Chartered Accounting body in UAE. We ACCA members don't need to write any exams to become a member. I actually wanted to leverage on this and also the tax-free salary in Dubai comparable to Canada or any other western nation.

Thanks again for your input. Will factor this into my plan.

We all have different aspirations in life bro/sis.. I am sure he is well aware of prospect for those countries and yet maybe he chose UAE for the NO TAX, COOL SALARY... He alone understands that

Just beats me why hes not considering Europe or North America with all his certification and degrees. He wants to go to UAE where an Indian/Paki with school cert will be picked ten times over him

Exactly what I would advise. Don't leave certainty for uncertainty bro...

@Leroy... But with your years of experience, it's POSSIBLE you get a job.. If you eventually land a job, it will be a good one. Just research well. Since it seems you know the risk involved. It God's grace out here for a job (be it menial or professional) jobquote author=nnamdi16 post=77898171]

Just to chip in a little advise, why not ask for leave from your current work place and then use that opportunity to travel down to uae to do your own survey and possibly hunt for job and if you eventually land a job, you'll proceed from there and if not at least you get to see how things works and you still have your job to return to.

I read the news on Khaleejtimes today and I was so sad, like even to walk on the street, malls and being asked your nationality, is a shame mentioning Nigeria. Being black alone, you are being looked at twice not to talk of hearing the Nigeria. It's just getting worse in and especially outside the country cry

Yes, First Bank peg theirs to 1kaed daily withdrawal (about 100000naira),the charges can be more even with little withdrawal. Advice you come with of course enough dollars. Get PTA with your naira in your bank ($1=3.645aed, having $100 bill though) could be rounded down with lesser $ denominations[ quote author=cutieme post=76246661]Please house, can one make money withdrawals in uae with a GTB MasterCard?[/quote]

Sir/Ma, any job in the UAE you did not do interview whatsoever (telephonic and/or one-on-one) and you got offer letter is FAKE. Note that the site will be not secure, check well with the company's detail online and confirm names and contacts on the offer letter, you will notice some slight difference.

Check the location of the interview, it's not in the UAE. Your mail for telephonic interview won't be attended to as they seem to be an outsourcing company and prefer direct interview (stated in bold in the email)
SLYSIM:
Beloved Nairalanders, I applied for this job from Nigeria and got this invitation for interview from the company. Since I am still in Nigeria, is there any way I will be given the privilege to air my view. I am considering sending mail to them to request for a online or telephone interview.
Pls I need your advice.

Attesting is like #300 per document but don't base your budget on that. Some other expenses they will ask you like tips here and there. Yes you can attest your Bsc alone(at UAE embassy) or both as you have the money. I attested my degree (18k). As per coming with your original? Your original is what will be attested and that's what every employer in any part of the world wants to see, so please they have no business left behind in Nigeria and you being at UAE. I heard that you can attest statements too I am not sure but please read this forum. I think some of these questions has been answered in previous pages I can't remember which page precisely. Please take time to read through, I did likewise from part 1, page 0 before I began this journey. The gurus in the forum might not be available to do justice to your questions. As per CV, no certain sure CV for job.. Just Google samples, CV with your passport photo, your job history, duties, mix of calm colours.etc.. Thanks
cutieme:
Pls how much to attest it and pls can I attest only Bsc? Should I attest the original copy or photostated one and do I come with my original certificates to uae? Also,it's only statement of result I have now, haven't collected my certificate.

Yes Abuja is the only place you can get your documents attested. You can get a job but they will request attested documents from your home country for the purpose of processing your employment visa. I was asked by the HR to re-attest it here again. Why not just attest it in Nigeria than waiting to get here
cutieme:
Is it only Abuja they attest results?Does it mean that without the attested certificate one wouldn't get a job there or what? The job you got,did they request for your attested certificate?Pls tell us more, also I'd appreciate it if you can forward me a copy of your CV let me use the format to update mine, thanks.

I Googled CV samples used in the UAE. Having done that I began creating profile on Naukrigulf.com, indeed and the likes. The company downloaded my details from naukrigulf. I guess a lot of company's HR does that in the UAE. There wasn't any special package to be honest

This is to encourage someone and to keep believing in Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, continue to serve your God wholeheartedly. I got to Dubai, Friday 1st February, started job hunting online the next day, Saturday. I really cannot say which website gave me this job but it was the same ones mentioned on this forum(Naukrigulf.com, indeed). I was called for the 1st interview(telephonic interview) by Sunday 3rd February, 2nd interview by Tuesday 5th February ( interviewed by a staff and the Manager same day) , called for the 3rd Interview 6th February, to come to the head office at Abu Dbabi by Saturday 9th February. Interviewed by HR manager and Assistant Manager. Got offer letter 13th Feb(today). It was God all the way. I want to encourage someone. If I was to base my decision on things I read from this platform (page 1 to here) I won't embark on this journey (3 month visit visa). If you are convicted within yourself that it is God's leading, please follow God's leading. Though the market is very tough as I read here before leaving, but I tapped into other people's testimony here that I will get a professional job. The common slogan I have heard on this platform and here in Dubai is real “We carry different grace” To God be the glory

Well I am not “experience” as I just got to UAE 1st of Feb.
You need to go attest your certificates at MOE and MOFA and proceed to UAE embassy for which ever you choose important out of all the attested documents (I attested degree alone at UAE embassy, Abuja).
For the answer to immigration, there is no predefined answer as they can bring any format for you to still collect money (I told them I am visiting a cousin, having his residence permit and address with me yet they asked for invitation letter saying BTA is not among my requirements since I am visiting, but I have the required BTA with me) I had to part with 2k since I couldn't provide the invitation letter from my cousin.
cutieme:
Please members of the house,i'd like someone with experience and knowledge about written ticket,to throw more light on this.
Also,i'd like to know if one would still go for certificate attestation now if coming with 3months tourist visa to look for jobs, even if menial jobs for a start.
Again, would like to know the best answer to give an immigration officer when asked about your BTA ,ticket and an hotel reservation, should they try to inquire why one didn't pay for the hotel and what you are going for or so in UAE.This will be all for now.Thanks.
