Politics › Re: A Former Dictator Dredges Up Old Social Policies In Nigeria : The Economist by Adminisher: 3:54pm On Sep 23, 2016
Standing5:
Good observation but those policies are still relevant today.
Very very relevant policies. Nigerians are the most expected Nationality to be embarrassed at an airport or suspected of a crime. This is because we have exported a traits that are not native to us in our individual ethnic national characters but we somehow adopted willy nilly over the years .
The ECONOMIST should shut up and let us target morality and ethics anew at a new generation . At least we can start from Junior Secondary Schools to start getting things right.

Politics › Re: Reps To Investigate $17bn Undeclared Crude Oil Exports by Adminisher: 8:17am On Sep 23, 2016
dustmalik:
And some fools still wonder why we are in recession. If Gej had been allowed to keep ruling this country, only God knows what would have become of this country.
That's MAN was not fit for office. I know for a fact that more than half of Nigeria's revenues were stolen before entering the budget. When they budget they steal another one-third and the remaining two-thirds of that budgeted money they keep in banks before TSA came. Yet some minister was reporting fantastic GDP growth figures when we all knew infrastructure and power development did not support that figure.
The failure of GEJ was his self acceptance that he was not in government to correct any I'll or change anything. If OBJ was corrupt he would be corrupt, if oil companies were stealing crude oil money , who was he to stop that.

So we had a situation that old warriors like OBJ and Buhari were more radical and change orientated than a 56 year young man.

Do I really know what I am signing? Its a question that need an answer cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy
It is an agreement to reduce pollution. It is The idiots in the Niger Delta who don't know what Nigeria just signed.
Some lazy brain dead youths IPDI are saying the government should permit local rudimentary unlicensed refineries. Not going to happen. With this agreement even about 20 percent of our energy mix mid-term be solar or wind
Politics › Re: Atiku Abubakar With Two Ladies In Throwback Photo by Adminisher: 4:15am On Sep 23, 2016
Stelvin101:
It really funny how same Nigerians complaining Reccession applaud and worship tyrants who brought this country to this state during the last 16yrs.
This in fact is a picture of corruption. Atiku was in CUSTOMS then. On a single day, they made the equivalent of people's annual salary.
Politics › Re: Atiku Abubakar With Two Ladies In Throwback Photo by Adminisher: 4:04am On Sep 23, 2016
Hedonistically:
Atiku is my preferred President if it has to be a Northerner. This guy is just ideal for Nigeria as presently constituted... Liberal, 'de-tribalised', charismatic, purposeful, socially intelligent, able to carry people along and make wise compromises where necessary, keenly aware of situations, a hands-on kind of leader, and so on. He is a billion times more capable and competent as a leader than the Daura fellow that is currently occupying Aso Rock.
He is corrupt and does not have strong principles. Leadership is about strong principles and ideology. Buhari and OBJ for all their faults know the detailed minutae and workings of government than most Nigerians because they have served in many governments and we're Head of State

All the reasons you like Atiku are wrong if you want to vote for Presidency. They are wrong if you want to be a good parent, chief executive, head master even pastor.
Leadership is a lonely place and for a developing country with weak institutions it is not for "one of the boys"

For illustration, this man once went to Buhari to beg him to step down for him in APC. Buhari told him point blank that he has been corrupt and it would not be right for him to lead the " party for now " against Jonathan. That is leadership. Clear, direct and unambiguous. OBJ also is very clear till next tomorrow about whether Atiku should be President or not and he says it clear and unambiguous.
Politics › Re: MTN Moved Over $12bn Out Of Nigeria--Dino Melaye by Adminisher: 4:18pm On Sep 22, 2016
idupaul:
Not MTNs fault at all ..in the wake of the ridiculous Buhari led fine any good business owner will find ways to expatriate it's gross profit and liquid assets to somewhere safe ..Infact in th same period over 80 billion dollars was sneaked out by many multinationals in the wake of that ridiculous fine by the a govt looking for lifeline ..Buhari could have gone about it in a smarter way..imagine a fine of 5 billion dollars ,it's never been heard of in human history
Between 2006 and 201X.
Please read properly and use your brain . They were probably moving their profits out gradually . They could also have been moving operational expenditure between the countries they operate. Nigeria needs to get very sophisticated about the management of protocols that these organisations use to move money.
It is not only Nigeria. In Europe, most US companies - Apple, Microsoft, GE frequently run into problems.

Nobody is above the law, But considering the pedigree of patience, I think the EFCC should just file a case against her, let her come and vindicate herself. An arrest outside court order will be termed insolence.

I know that silly Zombies will use this an evidence to support their assertion that Jonathan is sponsoring NDA gringrin

very silly group of zombies gringringrin .
They have just degradedcthe Nigeright Delta struggle.
I am now convinced that the Ijaw people are the weakest of all the tribes. So it is proven now that there is no deep ideology drIving the Niger Delta struggle.

EFCC please pick up this WOMAN now!!!

They conspired to impoverish us

Buhari is the most corrupt president ever. Abacha's protege

If Trump wins, then the world will see
What conspiracy?. The Naira was over valued for the current oil price so we right valued it. If you don't know, don't post. Chinese devaluation if currency is making the US complain so floating a currency is not always a bad thing. What Obama is saying us that the Naira value will make US companies bring money to invest in Nigeria.

Also Donald Trump is not going to win and if he did he would encourage floating of the Naira.

TEL ME,WHAT CONTRIBUTION AND DEVELOPMENT HAS NORMADIC COW REARING BROUGHT TO ANY REGION?IT'S ONLY DESTRUCTION OF FARMS AND LEAVING PEOPLE IN TEARS AND PAIN
I SUPPORT 10 YRS JAIL TERM FOR THEM
This ignorance. Rearing cattle is already 5% of GDP. Nigerias educational standard has fallen.
Please get an education, cattle herding is a legitimate business. More than 80% of cows in Nigeria are open grazed. More importantly , cattle open grazing cannot be stopped by any law in Nigeria, it can only be regulated. The man who was jailed committed vandalization of private property nothing more.

i av neva been on d same page with Fayose on any issue,bt on this one i support him,i feel d 2 yrs is small, they should make it ten yrs.
Fayose did not jail this guy. Ekiti state law jailed him for vandalization of private property. Young people on Nairaland should wake up their intellect and be matured in reasoning. This law applies indifferently if it was a Yoruba farmer who committed the crime or Ibo trader.
I definitely don't think he was jailed for being a herdsman

The dumbest Governor in Nigeria . HND from a cheap polytechnic. I read the article twice , no new suggestion except to "bring experts together ". Buhari has brought experts together countless times. We have had numerous strategy sessions, the Council of States have agreed to the economic direction. IMF and World Bank are not saying anything different so what is this IDIOT of a Governor saying?. Nothing.

No. You don't have to export it. We have four refineries my friend. Nigeria should not even be exporting crude oil alone.
