Religion / Re: I Now See Why Many Protestants Accuse Catholics Of Idolatry by adsonstone: 7:35am On Sep 03, 2014
Protestants enslave themselves to a book- the Bible- The (written) word of God.

Roman Catholics enslave themselves to diverse kinds of graven images and statues.

pesty100: The purpose of this thread isn't to ask for the source but the source of the source itself

That would be infinite, impossible to determine.

If the source has a source, and the other source has another source and another and another.....till infinity, then the source will never stop hence it would be a complete waste of time and effort trying to find the first source/cause.

It is like trying to add up all positive numbers from one to infinity and expecting to get an answer, a definite one.

Till date, science has not provided us with the source of the cause of the big bang. It just assumed those things were and told us how they probably happened to form the universe.

Atheists...spending all their time talking about what doesn't exist.

If He (God) 'doesn't exist,' and you know he doesn't, so why 'kill yourselves' over it at all times.

Thanks for the mention Sir-- Kingk.

She is the World Richest woman and not just Africa.Same mistake they keep using on Aliko Dangote. Referring to him as African richest man instead of World richest black man

Forbes reports that Oprah Winfrey has a net worth of $2.9bn and Isabel Dos Santos has a net worth of $3.7bn.

Mind you, they are 'black' people...I've not mentioned the 'whites.'
So, how's she the richest?

"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." (Matthew 18:20).

Jesus is everywhere people are gathered in His name.

He's always with His people so He's anywhere they're assembled.

"...I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." (Hebrews 13:5).

Ubenedictus: you didn't even answers my question.
Who commissioned him?
Did God send him to create a church that will contradict others? Is God confused?

The same that commissioned the Apostle Paul.

....and you haven't still shown how his teachings contradict what Christ and the Apostles taught.
Religion / Re: Which Church Represents True Christianity by adsonstone: 5:10pm On Aug 13, 2014
Ubenedictus:

this is interesting, so Jesus called Kumuyi and asked him to form another denomination that teaches and practices different and contradictory doctrines from others?

Just for curiousity, who commissioned/ordained/lay hands on Kumuyi to the ministry?

Rich4god:
lol... Keep shooting yourself in the leg. When
Paul was called, his teaching was inline with
what the apostles taught, when the apostle
asigned others, their teaching were still inline
uptil the reformation happened. How come
when Kumuyi was assigned, his own teaching
was different from the main body of Christ...
Even from the church he broje out from, his
teaching was different. So are all other
protestants that claim to be called... Or is God
the one assign different doctrine into
christianity...

What is taught is perfectly in line with what Christ and the Apostles taught.

Unless you want to prove otherwise.

Good. So we agree that the Christian Church has always been an organization with a physical hierarchy. Right?

Now tell us...who in that organization assigned Kumuyi to man his current post and when and where did this happen?

Secondly, you seem to say that deeper life is part of the Catholic Church that St. Ignatius and I belong to.

Who assigned Kumuyi?
The same person that appointed Paul to office.

italo:
Are you saying deeper life has the characteristics mentioned in the letter of St. Ignatius?

That would be a plain lie. No?

No.
That's not a lie.

italo:

1. You're flat wrong! The church, the assembly of Christians has always being an organization. That is why it had a heirachy, a council, apostolic succession by laying of hands etc.

2. Good to know you accept st. Ignatius' definition of the church. Let us now read more from that holy man:

'Some organization or building' in the context of my statement may refer to 'denominations,' if that would aid comprehension.

There's no denomination in the universal Church, the assembly of Christians, and the Church is not a denomination.

italo:

The Epistle of Ignatius to the Smyrnaeans

Chapter 8. Let nothing be done without the bishop

See that you all follow the bishop, even as Jesus Christ does the Father, and the presbytery as you would the apostles; and reverence the deacons, as being the institution of God. Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is [administered] either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude [of the people] also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church. It is not lawful without the bishop either to baptize or to celebrate a love-feast; but whatsoever he shall approve of, that is also pleasing to God, so that everything that is done may be secure and valid.

Chapter 9. Honour the bishop

Moreover, it is in accordance with reason that we should return to soberness [of conduct], and, while yet we have opportunity, exercise repentance towards God. It is well to reverence both God and the bishop. He who honours the bishop has been honoured by God; he who does anything without the knowledge of the bishop, does [in reality] serve the devil. Let all things, then, abound to you through grace, for you are worthy. You have refreshed me in all things, and Jesus Christ [shall refresh] you. You have loved me when absent as well as when present. May God recompense you, for whose sake, while you endure all things, you shall attain unto Him.

Now tell me, which church is consistent with that writing... the catholic church or your deeper life organization?

Be honest.

The catholic church, in its true meaning--universal. Deeper life is not outside the catholic church.

The Church is and has always been the assembly of Christians not some organisation or building.
..and the Church is Catholic (in its true meaning as St. Ignatius described it)- universal.

Hello,

For Political Science, your UTME combination is okay. The requirement is English, Govt,/History (compulsory) and any two social science or arts subjects...Maths is also acceptable.

Concerning your O'level subjects, it seems incomplete to me but the required subjects are Maths, English, Govt. (Compulsory) and any two from Economics, Literature, Geography or CRS/IRS.

I hope it helps.

Horliey,

I think the faculty/dept. regards Govt. a social science subject...and that should be the reason for the HOD's comment on your subject combination.

I suggest you should visit the department and admissions office in the school asap to make enquiries concerning the issue.

...and may I know your WASSCE subjects?

You have the two compulsory subjects (English and Literature) and two arts subjects (Govt. and C.R.K).
