Paul I repeat had no qualms publicizing Timothy's frequent ailments. Timothy was an MoG & leader as they come. So the idea that leaders weaknesses should be shielded from their followers is not quite Biblical.

The reason politicians hide theirs Mugabe style is because it is a sign of weakness and may destabilize their countries or give undue advantage to their enemies,real or imagined. Very common among strongmen and dictators. Why should the church copy the world in projecting power and invincibility? If they were as forward, maybe our prayers may save them!

When public figures are sick, it is not always heard of, religious or not.
If the non religious ones are shielded, I believe the religious ones are most often, not shielded.


If you believe it is shielded, I can say it is not intentional. The sick one usually won't be the one to publicize, and if others do not, it is no one's fault.

The congregation is always aware when my local Pastor is sick...but he rarely is.

...and if you believe it should always be made public, you can take a step by getting to open a thread for every sick Pastor you find out about.

Of course, God doesn't want us sick.

They feel pain, hunger, thirst, sicknesses and other things humans feel...when they feel all these, their close ones know about it, not necessarily everyone.

But op, do you expect them to announce on TV and Radio stations when they are sick?

Or who does that?
Do our national leaders (President, Governors and other elites) announce they are sick?
Has Dangote ever announced his sickness or have you ever known when he's sick?
Do you ever hear when the U.S president is sick?
Do you always hear about the Pope's illnesses?

Or is that a sign of 'weakness?'
