I almost gave up during the requirements phase and even while waiting, but reading stories here and following instructions went a long way. God bless everyone here.
Congratulations.

Congratulations to everyone who has crossed any of the hurdles in this journey.

Please I need some motivation so I don't place a 'full stop' where the Almighty has put a 'comma'.

After 3 IELTS and failing to max-out, I find it difficult to study for another one - lack of concentration, no zeal... angry

Mehn...I'm tired but must not give up as my children are not meant for this naija.
Don't give up bro/sis. I have written IELTS three times. Fantastic scores, but Listening has been short by 0.5

Getting tired is not an option. It is not over until it is over. Try to discover your weak areas and work on them. What materials do you use for studying?

Good day, please ild like to ask for clarity. So my Crs score without my husband’s wes and ielts is 448,
We decided there was no need for him to take the test again, but he’s been having issues with his evaluation from his school in Nigeria.now the question is, would there be any issue if we scrap his evaluation and just apply for EE or is it compulsory he has his evaluation done.
He does not need to for the purpose of EE. I think 448 is good enough to get you ITA. He may need to do it later though, when you get to Canada.

Plssss, while I was filling my WES app form ystday,I saw a place where am to fill my name as it's on my degree certificate, but my name was not spelt correctly(FUNMBILAYO instead of FUNMILAYO) and I was given "TO WHOM" to back it up then, but while filling it, I spelt my actual name. And secondly,my third name is Oluwafunmilayo but on my Neco d initials was written as F. While d initial on my degree certificate was O. I hope dis won't be a problem
Hi. You should have gotten a new cert. Can you try if it is possible to get a new certificate from school? You will also need a one and same person affidavit. As you progress with your application, stick to the name on your passport, as it appears.

For WES, try to get a new certificate from school. Do you have a statement of result? You can use that instead. NECO won't be a problem at all.

Came across this platform again even as I feel so discouraged to go through the process. I have written IELTS 3 times now and keep getting writing as a 6.5, even after remark of the last one. Maybe canny is not for everyone.
I have written IELTS 3 times. Getting stuck at listening 7.5

I felt downcast but I had to pick up. Try ielts-up.com
Their strategies are simple and easy to follow.

It's part of the planning process basically.

Hi,

Just thought to add this, If you have PHRi or SPHRi as a certification, you can get the CPHR certification through the international path (non resident) without writing any exams at all. All you need to do is send CPHRBC your certificates and proof of PHRi/SPHRi certification and you'll get it without hassles.

This was how I got my CPHR certification.

It is important to note that the CPHR certification is recognized in all provinces in canada except Ontario, Ontario has its own certification different from CPHR which I guess was what the other lady got.
Thanks for the information. Will it add extra points to the EE process?

@ajepako and others. #Thank you for your unalloyed assistance on this thread, it been very, very helpful.

Please where can I get
*women stuffs like shoes, slippers, waist trimmers, body sharppers & girdle, bags and underwears (pants, bra and skirt) at wholesale prices.
*men boxers, singlets and shoes at wholesale prices.

How do I get materials from Dubbai, America and Uk and differentiate them, please guide.

I was told of American Plaza but I don't know where it is located.

Please I will need direction from Oshodi to the directed places.
American plaza is not far from Oluwole Shopping Mall.

From Oshodi, board CMS bus, alight at Leventis. Cross to the other side to UBA building. Ask for direction to Oluwole Shopping Mall. When you get there, ask for direction to American Plaza.

I am about writing for the third time with MOD all because of Listening. It's quite painful having maxed out in all except in Listening with a recurrence of 7.5. I pray that this nonsense must stop this time around o.
Amen. Wishing you success

My wife wrote 4 times and listening was 7.5

She later paid for MOD and practiced with their materials for a month. Just learning the tricks. She had 8.5 and made it the 5th time. Do not be discouraged. Try the Mod material, sit and learn the tricks well. Pray and fast about favour.
Thank you. Is the material a separate cost from the exam?

Did u write your answers in capital letters...its preferred.

1st 7
2nd 7.5
3rd 7.5

All through BC.

I am not tired, I am just scared. What if I write again and it's 7.5

Useful suggestions are welcome. I tried to identify my gaps after my second attempt. It was in section 3 & 4. I worked on it, but I made two silly mistakes during the exams. I mixed up the numbers and stopped answering questions before the end of the exam. I still cannot explain how that happened.

I have written several exams and I have not repeated any, but IELTS has been a pain.

I have asked my husband to write the exam. If he aces it, he would be the principal applicant. I have done the CRS calculation, it will hover around 442 to 450, depending on his scores. It will take him a month to study for it.

What else do you think I should do?
Yes, I did. All caps

Sorry dear. How have you been practicing? Try Cambridge 7-14 youtube vidoes. One trick is this, if you don't do well in a particular recording, go back to the exact recording that you missed and listen over to it. Dont be in a hurry to move to the next test. Try and concentrate on how you missed some questions. You will see improvement.

Secondly, go to ielts mini and focus on section 3 and 4 independently and make sure you are scoring at least 9/10.

Thirdly, here is a clue for mcq - treat is like T/F/NG. Let me know if you need more help. I wrote ielts 5 times so be encouraged. Your next will be the last. i had 9 in my last listening.
Thank you. I will do as advised. You've encouraged me.

Have you tried the computer delivered IELTS exam? Thé mode of Delivery may help give a better result. And since its Listening, listen to BBC news, CNN news, any English news Channel. Watch proper English movies without subtitles. Listen and internalise thé news. If possible, listen to the words without looking at thé pictures (The pictures could distract you from listening )
Thanks. The last one I did was computer delivered. I believe I would have done better if I didn't make those silly mistakes.

I don't see any problems with this. They don't carry out extra tests on the PA.
Besides, even if they want to, they won't be able to redo the medicals, until this one expires.
Okay. Thanks

A friend's family did upfront medicals before obtaining ITA but they switched primary applicant from the husband to the wife because the wife has a better IELTS score. Would this have any negative effect on their application?

Schools open around 8am and close latest by 3pm. In some provinces like where I am school starts when a child is 5 years old. So your 4 year old will have to go to a day care which usually closes in the evening. You cant just drop the kids off and leave them at school till evening. You will have to get a before and after school program that can cover that. In Canada you cant leave children under 12 years old unsupervised.
Thank you so much.

5 year old - kindergarten. Usually 2 days a week (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday) and alternate Fridays for 3hrs a day- you decide between morning (8:30-11:30) or afternoon (12:30-3:30). Times may differ slightly per city, province, private vs public but generally the schedule would look as above.
4yr old can attend preschool if you want, usually 3 days a week for 3 hrs a day option of morning or afternoon as above.
Before and after school care would cover for hours before school and after up until 5 or 6pm dependent on your provider.
You can also opt not to place your 4yr old in preschool and go with a daycare or dayhome. Hours are usually 7am-5pm with slight differences based on your provider.

HR - I believe the CPHR qualification is what is preferred on this side of the pond
Thank you very much.

On days when the 5yr old is not in school, can I keep her in a dayhome or daycare?

Good day everyone. I have some questions for the seniors who have landed in Canada.

1. What time do schools open and close? I have 2 toddlers- 5&4. Can I keep them in school from morning till evening?

2. I'm an HR professional with a certification with HRCI. How do I blend? Are there courses I would need to take before getting a job? Is it possible I get a managerial level role in HR or do I need to start from entry level?

3. My husband is an Accountant and he intends to complete his ACCA programme before we leave Nigeria. Can he easily convert to CPA? Does he stand a chance to get a good job?

Thank you. God bless you

No sir/ma.

First of all they are two different NOC's, ergo you cannot claim them both in your EE application because you can only have one NOC to run with.

It must have been paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation (NOC skill type 0, A or B).

Cheers.
I don't think this is right, you can combine NOCs once they fall within NOC Skill type 0, A or B.
