What happened yesterday left me in shock. I least expected it. Not from a Nigerian lady.
Yesterday I went to visit a lady in her state. Arriving her state, I told her I've dropped. She texted me to go to an eatery and wait for her. I didn't want to spend much on her so I asked for an average eatery bought a drink and waited for her. She came and told me she didn't like the place that it was crowded. She took me to one bigger eatery within there. Just as I entered the eatery I said to my self "I ain't spending more than 5k here". We sat and she called the waiter and asked me to make my order I told her to make first. She ordered for food and drinks for herself. I later ordered for mine. What I ordered outweigh hers in price because I said to myself "I can't spend less on me and more on a leech".
After eating we sat down to gist. Along the line I felt pressed and I went to the gent. Came back gist and it was time to go. I went to the waiter asked her how much the bill is. She said 11,600. I pulled out my purse to get my card I heard the waiter said "She has paid". I asked "She? who?" She said "the lady you followed paid". I was shocked and felt ashamed.

Though the foundation of Christmas is idolatry and God hates idolatry with perfect hatred, we will not throw away the baby and the bath water. We do not condemn those who celebrate. Jesus is born in us at MFM every day. His death is our birth certificate.
We will bring out the positive out of the negatives by using all holidays for prayers, conferences seminars, and activities.
We will hold seminars, conventions, camp meetings or special teaching services to pray, examine the scriptures and draw positives from the wrong, negative and idolatry practices of the two events: Easter and Christmas.
We will hold special meetings to re-teach, re-emphasize and reappraise the significance of Jesus' birth, death, cross, and resurrection.
ON DECEMBER AND THE SHEPHERDS Strange but true! Remember those shepherds who were “keeping watch over their flocks by night”? (Luke 2:. December weather around Bethlehem is often miserably cold, wet and rainy. No shepherd in his right mind would have kept his flocks outside at night at that time of year! Humility is not in the piece at all. It's just somebody working for someone he can give birth to as regards age difference. Not like ayade being his student or worked under him at anytime or a subordinate and now there is a swap. People just write for rubbish sake.
About a year ago, my Dad died, being an owner of a primary school with my mom, thereafter o assumed head of the school, although I run my own freelance engineering installation and maintenance service on HVACs and Diesel engines.
In course of this education line, I'm obtaining my certificate in PGDE( in view).
Now this is the case...
There are some old staff in the school then whom use to collect school fees on behalf of the school and you know Nigerians, instead of remitting the fees to the school, they divert and scam and even go as far as lending money to different people in the vicinity.
However since I took over, I forcefully stopped the collection, and redirected all fees to be paid at the bank. Mhen, it was not small trouble, fight, gossiping, spoiling me at the back etc, but I never listened to such, and right now no one collects these fees again... Everything goes through me coz I'm trying to sanitize it. I also required the services of a registered security company operator (sheriff deputies) for the school
Problems I needed advice
1. Sometimes these rebellion. They gossip and talk evil to people that I'm very harsh etc
2. I have changed 2 security operators because of compromises with these staff. I will give instruction, Buh those they'd do otherwise and bend to what other older staff tell them. Recently, the present security did something contrary and I scolded him toughly. Recently, he had an alteration with a parent and I asked him to just plead with her. He refused blatantly. I was surprised and even my mom too. He said he doesn't like the way I scold him and that's why bla bla bla, infront of all other staff. My mom asked me not to change him Buh I'm skeptical
I already feel like changing him with his company supervisor coz he lives around the vicinity and he now gossips with those old staff who might be telling him I'm too young to order him to do things
4. These old staffs are like friends to my mom and they already carry a lot of influence with most of the parents (which I also cut off too). One of them is wife to my mom's brother
5. My mother has been telling me to be patient even my wife. I do not want to employ an headteacher until I change a lot of things
The school has about 300-350 pupils, and employs 18 staff

Play leadership card and if you are not equipped yet be calm draw them closer and listen to them let them no they are in charge that you are only a publicist to their brilliant job. Get the book how to make friends and win people. Use the internet this holiday to equip yourself such that at resumption it will be wow. But before then send private message to them base on your knowledge of them individually and based on what you have learnt from your research and study.
Any chat or call between the two of you while you are at this once for all move ensure you sound formal and be smart about it. If it's oral conversation make sure you record it. May God grant you Wisdom and boldness to do the right thing.

mushystuff: Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday withdrew from the fundamental rights enforcement suit instituted by the 'RevolutionNow' protests convener, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, seeking an order for his release from custody of the Department of State Service. There have been no fresh charges instituted against Sowore since he was rearrested by the operatives of the DSS on December 6 barely 24 hours of being released from the agency's detention lasting over months.
But Justice Mohammed ruled on Monday that he could not hear Sowore's case filed on December 10 saying it was the fair, just and proper thing to do in view of the previous publications by Sowore's medium, Sahara Reporters, accusing him of taking bribe in a case to influence the outcome of his case.
The case in question is the trial of a former Governor of Benue State, Senator Gabriel Suswam, who is now being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission before another judge of the court, Justice Okon Abang. Justice Mohammed noted on Monday that the reports by Sahara Reporters in 2016 and 2019 made him to withdraw from the ex-governor's trial.
He recalled that when the first report was published in 2016, he was prevailed upon by the prosecution and defence teams to continue with the case. He said on continuing with the case, a similar report was published in June this year.
He said the situation put him in a situation whereby if he ruled in favour of Sowore, it could be perceived as having been blackmailed by Sowore to so rule, and that in the event that he ruled against the activist, he could be perceived as being vengeful.
"Justice is rooted in confidence," the judge said, adding, "That is to say none of the parties should have fear or apprehension that he will not get justice before a court." He then ordered that the case file be sent back to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, for reassignment to another judge.
sinkhole: The media has been inundated with speculations on imminent strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) over the face-off between members of the union and the Federal Government for their refusal to register on Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), the new platform for the payment of Federal civil servants’ salaries.
*Very much like the Nigerian Armed Forces, Judiciary, National Assembly, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), among others, Nigerian university lecturers are not federal civil servants in the strict sense of the word.*
ASUU National president, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, recently declared the outright rejection of the IPPIS platform by members of the union at a press conference on 11th December 2019, after the union’s National Executive committee (NEC) meeting held at the Federal University of Technology, Minna between 7th and 8th December 2019. The following are ten reasons why ASUU has rejected the IPPIS:
*1. Emasculation of University Councils.* The ultimate authority put in place for the smooth running of a university is the university council. With the IPPIS, the body becomes severely marginalised and rendered as powerless as a toothless bulldog.
*2. Violation of world best practices on university autonomy.* Lecturers are of the opinion that surrendering the micro-management of individual staff salaries to an external body instead of the university bursar is a flagrant violation of university autonomy. With this system, dissident or compliant lecturers can be singled out for reward or sanction without the input of the university where they serve.
*3. A breach of the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement.* The new platform is seen as a crude attempt to undermine the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement about the welfare of university lecturers. Lecturers appear to be in agreement that this must not be allowed to happen.
*4. Tactful reneging on the FG/ASUU agreement on the payment of earned academic allowances (EAA).* There has been a long running battle between the FG and ASUU since the days of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as Minister of Finance on the payment of earned academic allowances (EAA) to the lecturers. Up till now, Nigerian lecturers are still being owed several years backlog of unpaid EAA. With the IPPIS, such arrears together with its expected incorporation into the lecturers’ salary structure will become history.
*5. Loss of remuneration for visiting lecturers for academic services.* From time immemorial, universities worldwide have a culture of encouraging intellectual rubbing of minds, whereby experienced academics visit other universities as visiting lecturers, external examiners, collaborative research and more. This global best practice is anathema to IPPIS; hence the remuneration of visiting lecturers and other researchers in this category is not captured on its rigid platform.
*6. It is unduly expensive.* A major reason why ASUU is not in support of the IPPIS is that it sees it as a glorified scam. The union recently alleged that the FG is planning to pay contractors handling the project up to N2 Billion if all academic and non-teaching staff members are enrolled. This figure was arrived at by multiplying the contractors’ charge of N16,000 per person per month with the total number of federal university workers.
*7. Fears that lecturers above 65 years old will not be captured.* The normal retirement age for regular civil servants is 65, but a special dispensation has been granted lecturers in the professorial cadre to retire at 70. This agreement was reached a few years back in accordance with global best practices. This fear by ASUU is real as the FG has not responded satisfactorily to put the worries of the lecturers to rest.
*8. Higher taxes. To help arrest the incessant brain drain* whereby Nigerian academics migrate in droves because they too often get better offers abroad, their annual income taxes are jointly negotiated between the unions and the tax authorities. It is a well known fact that workers already on the IPPIS pay higher taxes than they previously paid. Lecturers are not happy to be overtaxed for substandard or non-existent public utilities and municipal services.
*9. Fears on non-payment of salary arrears arising from delays in processing promotions.* The system of promotion in universities is such that the internal and external procedures are lengthy and cumbersome. In some universities like Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, it could takes up to five or more years before the announcement of a person’s promotion into the professorial cadre. It is widely believed that the IPPIS does not have provision for the payment of such salary arrears.
*10. Serious infractions arising from errors, shortfalls and non-payment of salaries.* There is ample evidence from the experience of institutions already on the platform that errors in the system often manifest in the form of shortfalls or non-payment of staff salaries. The experience of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital in which the November 2019 salaries of staff members were unpaid is instructive on this matter. Unlike in the past when payment errors are corrected locally, there are reports that affected staff members on the IPPIS have to visit Abuja personally to get payment errors rectified.
To be fair to ASUU, some of the issues raised above can be negotiated and factored on to a platform managed by the National Universities Commission (NUC), but the dictatorial arrogance with which the FG is dealing with the union does not augur well for the intellectual health of the country. The FG needs to come down from its high horse and allow universities to manage its finances in line with global best practices if it truly desires the advancement of this country.
