@Bankole01, What they are doing will fail because it is not the right thing to do, simple. Do we really need aid? As far as Nigeria is concerned we don't need aid and I am shocked that you are allowing these people to effectively divert your attention to the real issues when issues like fair trade and equal opportunity should be at the front burner. Is Bush a responsible president? Can other countries discuss how to better the lives of Americans without him being in the know? C'mon, gimme a break. |
Maybe you have many fathers but I had just one. Go take your medication before you kolo finish. |
segebee:Guess you don't know what you are talking about. You don't need any programming script to fit a website into any screen, ask decently I you will be told what to do to make every page fit into any screen resolution, you don't get answers by pretending to know what you don't know. By the way, there are people that prefer to use tables for presentation and that style ain't going away for a long long time. |
@Ima-obong, This man has been running different scam schemes since 2001/2002. I have quite a number of clients who have shared very terrible stories about this man. I have spoken to him on phone before and the moment he couldn't answer some questions I posed to him I knew he was scam. I will be shocked if he was running a micro-finance outfit with a license to do so. I know he has been running outfits under different names from Eagle's glory international to president of e-millionaires club to this wealth solution nonsense. He once scammed his partner who I was told was based in UK and the expensive office on Opebi was locked up for some months. He sends countless number of emails to unsuspecting Nigerians and at a time was operating from Ikeja GRA. My dear, if any human being cannot use his/her head to analyze what people promise then he/she should not disturb the peace and quiet. I have had heated debates with Westerners on this same issue of scam and at the end most of them try to state that they do have a right to hope for a lucky break in life even if it means taking a risk with any of these scams around. Without any apologies I maintain that the best candidates for people like this guy are those that are greedy, lazy and stupid. You don't get to hear about hardworking Nigerians losing money this way, do you? |
You don't take decisions on what happens in other peoples homes when the heads of the families are excluded from discussions that have to do with the families. It is insulting and won't make any sense in reality. Can the UN implement anything in any African country without the leaders agreeing to it? I don't think so. |
Another slowpoke on rampage. Suit yourself. Are you an idiot or what? |
ifababa, I am not interested in you having your money there neither am I impressed with your level of risk taking. I have aired my opinion and this is based on facts and remains a recurring issue. WTC and Savannah bank have nothing to do with the issue on ground unless the confused state of mind you are in today is making you compare things that shouldn't be compared. Take all the risks in life, no one is complaining but don't waste other people's time crying when things don't go according to plan. We are not here to compete so feel free to achieve all that you want, what I achieve or fail to achieve is neither your business nor headache. But in reality those that are usually quick to talk big don't have much to show for it, I have seen empty barrels like you before so you are certainly not the first neither will you be the last. Enjoy! |
@topic, Why is it that Nigerians cannot communicate with languages they are comfortable with? Why would someone come to a public discussion forum and choose to use a language very wrongly when options like pidgin english and even local languages abound? Can't people be real and stop trying to impress others? Efficient communication is key as both the sender and receiver of information must understand the message before communication can be effective. |
presido1:What right do you have to advice me on what I should see when this dog goes about attacking my person? If you don't have the capacity to comment objectively then just go straight to hell and remain there. It is people like you that willr eadily side with the devil as long as you are comfortable, silly. @chidichris, There is a difference between perception of reality and reality itself. I will never get to your level of stupidity to answer questions by someone that seems confused. |
Thanks on the padding issue, I will just change the background color in the style sheet to white and that problem will disappear, Bland? As long as clients understand the information on the site and they keep asking for bank account number to make payments I am cool with the site considering the fact that is what set up in the first place to make information readily available to potential clients. Thanks. NB: Well, ended up adding the padding, seems a better option. |
Kobojunkie:Let's say you are given an opportunity to redesign this site today how do you intend to convince them that you can deliver? Do you have a website you have designed that can be used as a reference considering the fact that these days everybody claims to experts? |
@BigB1, I doubt if you are living in Nigeria or if you have any clue as regards what Nigerians think of IBB. Enjoy yourself but I pray that your dreams never come to pass as you have not been honest with your comments on IBB for reasons best known to you. |
@tkb417, The last time I checked you were the one that resorted to personal attack here so don't waste your energy on playing the victim here. First, this is not a wonder bank, he organizes seminars and promises out of the world returns on very small investments. He does not need a license to promise greedy Nigerians huge returns on crazy investment schemes. His office will most likely be registered as a business that teaches people internet stuff. No one can excuse the level of greed and easy money Nigerians are looking for including ritual killings and cocaine pushing. |
tkb417:The easiest way to ridicule yourself is for you to talk about things you don't know. What licenses? When you foolishly start off with a false premise and base your incoherent analysis on the wrong premise what do you expect? Complete nonsense. Invest if you want to but don't waste space and time complaining or acting like an advocate for those that got swindled. If not laziness, stupidity and greed (as even implied by you with your 50k vs 800k) then I wonder what it is. Use your brain for once and stop acting stupid. |
IG:You ain't seen nothing yet. The easiest way for you to become a bad person on this forum is for you to say anything against the atrocities of the West even with a lot of evidences. It has gotten that bad and I weep for Nigerians who see nothing wrong in what the West is doing and unfortunately will believe everything they hear from the Western media without using their own brains to figure out what makes sense and what doesn't. What goes around comes around. |
@Mamajama, Sure IBB does have a lot more questions to answer when compared to Ehindero. @BigB1, It's not even close to you being IBB's son considering how bitter most (if not all) of your replies on this forum is? Wonders shall never end and if indeed you are ashamed to even associate with IBB (by the way I believe you are his son) then it tells a lot about the man you are unsuccessfully trying to absolve of every single bad thing he did while in power. God bless Naija. |
Truth hurts so I am not surprised that you are hurt. Only greedy, laziness and stupidity will make one believe any promises that cannot be substantiated before investing money. This is a classical case of 419 only this time the victims are Nigerians. |
@Bankole01, Trying to blame the government when someone commits fraud is totally unacceptable. This guy does not run a finance house to the best of my knowledge, he once swindled even his partner and had his office sealed off for some months. If someone promises greedy Nigerians that if they invested N20,000.00 in one internet scheme or the other and people rush in then you must blame the greedy people and not government unless you are ready to blame the government too for online scam (419). |
I am surprised this guy is still around, a known con man that has been in and out of detention yet the greedy and penchant for quick money will always make people listen to him. |
aisha2:@aisha2, What is the name of this NGO you work for? Hope you don't mind providing the name. |
So after all said and done BigB1 is IBB's son and Mamajama is Ehindero's son? Wonders shall never end. The irony of the whole thing is that either of them believes that his father is a saint while believing that the other person's father is the bad guy. Una do well. Posterity will judge the actions of your fathers whether right or wrong. Hope I am not wrong, I sincerely hope so. |
This is really shocking and after the exams everyone will forget about this and wait till the problem comes around again and again. |
chidichris:Let me assume that you are a rich man, even at that your level of reasoning is abysmally low. Since you are not used to suffering I wonder what must have impaired your level of comprehension, you simply don't get it, your thought process is fundamentally flawed and your comments are usually silly. Big man chidichris, get a life because to me you are a walking corpse. |
The AGF is a bloody liar and the media as usual will help spread falsehood just to make money, shame. |
@naijatips, I nearly posted a banner that read "here, customers are not always right" in my office when I got tired of hearing the customer is always right sermon from the same customers that are plain wrong. All in all I agree with you that customers that give problems are best ignored and on time too so as to have time to take care of good ones. Your best customers won't even have time to argue, they simply ask for account numbers to make payments once they are sure you will deliver as that is why they are paying you in the first place. |
Misinformation is a bad thing will continue to lead to unnecessary misunderstandings and conflicts. Anyone working in foreign lands in well established companies usually get higher allowances than locals simply because it makes sense to do so. Just as you have foreigners earning more than their Nigerian counterparts here in Nigeria you also have Nigerian professionals that earn more than locals in foreign lands. A typical example is Schlumberger where the risk index of a country determines what you earn in that country for IS. For example, a Nigerian working in Nigeria may earn N10.00 while a foreigner working in Nigeria (and yes, doing the same job) will earn say N30.00 or more. In any JV arrangement or service companies for that matter the operator is allowed to run business and until that changes very little will come out of issues like these. |
These are some of the silent victims of corruption. They are usually ignored and forgotten and it is a shame. Unfortunately, we believe in capitalism which to me means nothing but the survival of the fittest. Can we do anything about this? Yes but very little. Often times I think of setting up homes where extremely poor people can be fed, clothed, housed for free but reality always stares me in the face - how many people can you help with millions in this condition? Today banks are setting up new branches everywhere while displacing families in the process even when ATMs have basically decongested the banking halls. PeeDaVinci:This slowpoke should be banned for displaying this level of stupidity, he hardly makes sense and unfortunately he sees himself as making sense, I wonder what mad men think of themselves while others see them as mad men. |
http://afamnnaji.com/blog_view.php?myview_id=36 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ There is this growing trend I have noticed and have equally heard from friends that run businesses, some clients seem to double as business advisers especially when they fail to meet up with payment obligations. Are you currently running a business? Do you intend to run one in the near future? If you answered yes to either of the questions above then you may well benefit from this piece. Your business will run smoothly when you are able to plan well. To plan well you must not spend the bulk of your time chasing clients to make or complete payments for products delivered or services rendered. That means you have to avoid scenarios that may bring bad blood (if not handled properly) or may result in pure bad debt (if unlucky) because when your business goes down your clients will still do business with your competitors, simple. I have heard over and over again by a lot of people (some of them have actually become victims of their own beliefs) that you cannot run a business without being owed. Some maintain that it is normal and expected. I beg to differ. I have at least 3 close friends that have had very terrible experiences with clients or customers and one of them is already out of business completely, now he agrees that doing business on credit is not the way to go after all. The other two are now chasing clients for money I can effortlessly call bad debts. Based on these experiences and common sense I started a "No credit or part payment policy" for services I render to Nigerians as they say, "A clever person knows how to solve problems but a wise person knows how to avoid them" I have decided to be wise as time spent in calling, emailing or visiting clients for payments that ought to have been concluded will be better spent improving your services, learning new things or positioning the business for increasing challenges and investigating new opportunities. Now, the main reason for this piece is to advice business owners to be able to avoid clients that begin to offer advice on how to run a business especially as regards to debts. Funny enough you never get to hear them advice you when payments are made as at when due but the moment payment is delayed or payment is not forth coming these class of clients become business consultants overnight and begin to recall instances where doing business on credit makes a lot of sense. The best businesses around are those that receive timely payments. Unless you have an foolproof system in place that guarantees that your money will always get back to you and on time too. A typical example is the GSM business. Even if you just spent N2,000.00 in a single day on your GSM phone if you don't have credit on that line the next day you won't make any call with it unless you buy another credit or use a business centre. Even with the post paid plan for the GSM companies stories of how many people used and abandoned lines after accumulating huge bills are common and today I believe the only thing you won't be made to provide to qualify for such services is the birth certificate of your great grand father. It is also not uncommon to see debtors avoid their customers and go to do business elsewhere rather than offsetting their debts. All in all, it is better to avoid things that may bring quarrels and misunderstandings between friends or between business owners and customers. After all if a customer is so interested in the growth of a business it should simply patronize it and pay for products or services promptly. The old almanac that shows 2 pictures of two business men readily comes to mind here. One of the businessmen is fat (abi na well fed) with a full shop and a rider "I sold in cash" The other businessman is looking haggard and in an empty shop with a rider "I sold on credit". Now, as a businessman who would you rather want to be like? As for me, the former. |
@chidichris, I don't blame you, this forum has given a dog like you the opportunity to write any nonsense that comes to your brain, look at what you put down in your signature and see how stupid you can get. You are really disgusting. |
From the inbox, interesting article. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++= The Next Quagmire - By Chris Hedges The most effective diplomats, like the most effective intelligence officers and foreign correspondents, possess empathy. They have the intellectual, cultural and linguistic literacy to get inside the heads of those they must analyze or cover. They know the vast array of historical, religious, economic and cultural antecedents that go into making up decisions and reactions. And because of this - endowed with the ability to communicate and more able to find ways of resolving conflicts through diplomacy - they are less prone to blunders. But we live in an age where dialogue is dismissed and empathy is suspect. We prefer the illusion that we can dictate events through force. It hasn't worked well in Iraq. It hasn't worked well in Afghanistan. And it won't work in Iran. But those who once tried to reach out and understand, who developed expertise to explain the world to us and our- selves to the world, no longer have a voice in the new imperial project. We are instead governed and informed by moral and intellectual trolls. To make rational decisions in international relations we must perceive how others see us. We must grasp how they think about us and be sensitive to their fears and insecurities. But this is becoming hard to accomplish. Our embassies are packed with analysts whose main attribute is long service in the armed forces and who frequently report to intelligence agencies rather than the State Department. Our area specialists in the State Department are ignored by the ideologues driving foreign policy. Their complex view of the world is an inconvenience. And foreign correspondents are an endangered species, along with foreign coverage. We speak to the rest of the globe in the language of violence. The proposed multibillion-dollar arms supply package for the Persian Gulf countries is the newest form of weapons-systems-as-message. U.S. Undersecretary of State R. Nicholas Burns was rather blunt about the deal. He told the International Herald Tribune that the arms package "says to the Iranians and Syrians that the United States is the major power in the Middle East and will continue to be and is not going away." The arrogant call for U.S. hegemony over the rest of the globe is making enemies of a lot of people who might be predisposed to support us, even in the Middle East. And it is terrifying those, such as the Iraqis, Iranians and Syrians, whom we have demonized. Empathy and knowledge, the qualities that make real communication possible, have been discarded. We use tough talk and big weapons deals to communicate. We spread fear, distrust and violence. And we expect missile systems to protect us. "Imagine an Iranian government that was powerful, radical, and in possession of nuclear weapons; imagine the threat that would pose to Israel and to the American-led balance of power, which has been so important in the Middle East since the close of the Second World War," Burns said in a speech at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston last April 11. "That is our first challenge." ----------------------------------------------------------- SHARK POWERED SCOOPER TV Price: $39.99 OUR PRICE: $12.99 or get two or more for $9.99 each The Shark PS380 power scooper picks up all types of house- hold messes! "It is the leading funder and director of Hamas, Hezbollah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine general command. Third, Iran is in our judgment a major violator of the human rights of its own people; it denies religious, political, and press rights to the people of a very great country representing a very great civilization. And so we see a problem that is going to be with us for a long time, and we are trying to fashion a strategy that will work for the long term." George W. Bush's latest salvo, on Aug. 28, was more of the same. "Iran's active pursuit of technology that could lead to nuclear weapons threatens to put a region already known for instability and violence under the shadow of a nuclear holocaust," he said. Bush warned that the United States and its allies would confront Iran "before it is too late." These kinds of words, pouring out of the administration, send a clear message to any Iranian: You are in trouble. Bend to our will or we destroy you. These were the same words, with a few minor changes, that the Bush administration delivered to Saddam Hussein, who, despite numerous compromises, including letting the U.N. inspectors back into his country, was overthrown and put to death during a U.S. occupation. And the Iranians know that without the bomb, which no intelligence agency thinks they can produce for a few years, they are now probably going to be attacked. The Pentagon has reportedly drawn up plans for a series of air strikes against 1,200 targets in Iran. The air attacks are designed to cripple the Iranians' military capability in three days. The Bushehr nuclear power plant, along with targets in Saghand and Yazd, the uranium enrichment facility in Natanz, a heavy-water plant and radioisotope facility in Arak, the Ardekan Nuclear Fuel Unit, and the uranium conversion facility and nuclear technology center in Isfahan, will all probably be struck by the United States and perhaps even Israeli warplanes. The Tehran Nuclear Research Center, the Tehran molybdenum, iodine and xenon radioisotope production facility, the Tehran Jabr Ibn Hayan Multipurpose Laboratories, and the Kalaye Electric Co. in the Tehran suburbs will also most likely come under attack. But then what? We don't have the troops to invade. And we don't have anyone minding the helm who knows the slightest thing about Persian culture or the Middle East. There is no one in power in Washington with the empathy to get it. We will lurch blindly into a catastrophe of our own creation. It is not hard to imagine what will happen. Iranian Shabab-3 and Shabab-4 missiles, which cannot reach the United States, will be launched at Israel, as well as American military bases and the Green Zone in Baghdad. Expect massive American casualties, especially in Iraq, where Iranian agents and their Iraqi allies will be able to call in precise coordinates. The Strait of Hormuz, which is the corridor for 20 percent of the world's oil supply, will be shut down. Chinese-supplied C-801 and C-802 anti-shipping missiles, mines and coastal artillery will target U.S. shipping, along with Saudi oil production and oil export centers. Oil prices will skyrocket to well over $4 a gallon. The dollar will tumble against the euro. Hezbollah forces in southern Lebanon, interpreting the war as an attack on all Shiites, will fire rockets into northern Israel. Israel, already struck by missiles from Tehran, will begin retaliatory raids on Lebanon and Iran. Pakistan, with a huge Shiite minority, will reach greater levels of instability. The unrest could result in the overthrow of the weakened American ally President Pervez Musharraf and usher into power Islamic radicals. Pakistan could become the first radical Islamic state to possess a nuclear weapon. The neat little war with Iran, which few Democrats oppose, has the potential to ignite a regional inferno. We have rendered the nation deaf and dumb. We no longer have the capacity for empathy. We prefer to amuse ourselves with trivia and gossip that pass for news rather than understand. We are blinded by our military prowess. We believe that huge explosions and death are an effective form of communication. And the rest of the world is learning to speak our language. ----------------------------------------------------------- The author is Chris Hedges, a Pulitzer prize-winning reporter, who was the Middle East bureau chief for The NY Times. He spent seven years in the Middle East and reported frequently from Iran. His latest book is "American Fascists: The Christian Right and the War on America." ------------------------------------------------------------ |
