Spoke to Ajibola and we met today in my office. Straifght forward and transparent in my opinion.

He had the right answers to my many questions. What remains now is for me to get one unit from him and use it, only then can I comfortably say his products are as reliable or more reliable than what we provide.

Unfortunately, there is no time according to him as 3 weeks will be the time frame for a unit to be built and delivered.

I will always post my findings with the inverter once I get one from him.

Dry cell batteries are the most convenient to use as long as you are sure of the source as you cannot know when something is going bad until it goes bad because you cannot peep inside unlike wet cells where you can top it up with distilled water if the level of electrolyte is getting below the top of the plates.

How affordable is the inverter that will power the appliances stated and last for 5/7 days?

What is the battery bank? Is it from the same batteries that battery dealers are not giving any warranties on again?

Do not forget to post the actual discharge time when you start using the system as there is a whole lot of difference between promises and actual performance.

I still need to buy and use these affordable inverters plus the battery banks that will last 5/7 days.

Let me have a number or email address and I will not only buy 1 but many of them.

If they do not last as promised, I will simply ask for refunds and I will always get my money back.

My laptop is getting to 4 years now and it came with inbuilt wireless netwrok card. It doesn't have to be centrino as centrino is simply a platform/architecture for mobility and long battery life. Mine is a Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100 series with even an option for bluetooth if I need it as the bluetooth stack is loaded on my machine from factory.

Now, that a machine has inbuilt wireless capability is one thing and for the user to figure out how to connect to any wireless access point out there is another.

I try to be as simple and as clear as possible in my posts as I will not want to believe that everything is cool with technological jargons or acronyms.

Pardon me, but I was only trying to explain the same thing differently to make it easy for anyone to understand me.

Google won't appeal to many people as regards design but the website is doing great and that is what matters.

Modified sine wave or pure sine wave inverters will do for the items listed, however, 2 thing determines how much you need to spend on batteries as any inverter you may get must get power from the batteries.

Inverter unit and battery bank.

1.5kva inverter will do (modified sine wave) - N36,000.00

Budget N24,000.00 for a battery as all the good battery dealers have hiked their prices because a lot of substandard batteries have been held at the port due to SON's intervention to the menace of imported substandard batteries.

1 battery will last you atleast 8 hours if you use all these items you listed concurrently, so it's up to you how you use them and how long you want them powered via the inverter/battery bank system.

If you plan for 2 batteries, then you need to add N5,000.00 to the cost of the 1.5kva inverter so as to design a charger that will help prolong the life of your battery bank.

Each battery is rated 12v 200Ah.

The inverters for N15,000.00 to N20,000.00 for 1 - 2 kva, can you point me to the source as I won't mind getting them from that source.

Average cost for inverter? Well, carry your calculator find the average based on the following range

1.5kva inverter (inbuilt charger) = N36,000.00

5.0kva inverter (+ charger) = N190,000.00

The configurations above are specific to JWS Power Inverters and are even Modified Sine Wave, not True Sine Wave which are more expensive.

I cannot remember ever posting anything in the Business category and for my post to end up there with no reason is what I am not happy about.

The post of NL trying to setup an online directory was and remains under the Internet section so why is mine deemed fit for reposting in another category.

My dear, what goes around comes around, when you see something wrong and you choose to support it then just know that it is only a matter of time that you will find yourself in a similar position.

So, back to the original topic, my post was removed and sent to another category and I questioned why even though I had thought it was deleted.

I search when I am looking for something I don't know the exact location, I don't search for my posts because I know where I make them.

I think companies will get websites when they feel they have need for them.

People do not feel comfortable gambling with their hard earned money these days as things are tight.

Simply elect to setup one or more websites for businesses and demonstrate that you know what works and what doesn't work.

Too much gist or convincing may actually work against you.

Referrals remain the best route for getting web projects as the sales resistance is near zero, you only get to negotiate the cost, hence not time wasted on whether you can deliver ot not.

I started convincing people, did some for free + fun and today I hardly ever know my clients before I work for them. You a phone call asking if you can reduce your price, not whether you can do it.

It is simple to do although many may feel it's not that easy.

Build a portfolio and point people to it. I find it difficult to imagine that web designers talk about developing websites for others when they do not have websites themselves.

How can you convince me to get what you are not using?

Sorry I didn't follow up on the thread.

Usually there is a switch just where the antennae logo is displayed which you may need to toggle on or off.

There is also usually a LED that blinks or is lit whenever your wireless network card is on.

You can also turn on the wireless network by using what I call auxiliary keys (Fn + antennae logo, same color with the Fn).

You may go the route of accessing the device manager and enabling the WIFI card if it is currently disabled otherwise you will see it as enabled when you click on the properties tab.

If you need to setup a wireless access using your laptop as the server and not a client, you can go so if you are using Windows XP (internet connection sharing feature) while other machines connect to your laptop as clients.

If you want to access a wireless internet connection being provided by anyone (fee based or free) and you have an inbuilt wireless network card, simply activate it or enable it using any of the methods stated above and you will be connected to the nearest WIFI hotspot unless it is secured.

Have you designed other websites before? If positive then, pointing the prospective client to the ones you have built and giving them room to independently checked if your services are good will help.

It becomes easier to deal with prospective jobs when you have some in your portfolio otherwise look for businesses to take online either for free or for a small fee.

I once offered to design a website for free and instead the client instead on paying, started with N16,000.00 a year, today he is happily paying N110.000.00 a year simply because he is satisfied.

Do not forget that a lot of business owners have either experienced first hand or heard about disappointments by other victims.

I know how to use the search feature, I do not need to search for a post a made on a discussion forum because I know where I posted the thread.

I am also not interested in similar posts.

However, from your investigation and searching the post in question was obviously moved to another section of the forum without any notice or link stating the thread has been moved to another location (which is standard practice anyway).

I agree that patience is a virtue and I task you to agree to it also because you would have come to a different conclusion if you had understood my post very clearly.

This thread was started in August 2005 and we have just 1 month to go round a full year, yet no online directory is in sight.

If it takes more than 11 months to get information for a directory, how long will it take for the the directory to be published and more importantly, how long will it take for business owners to edit or change information concerning their listings?

Let this online project not become like one of the promises of the FG. Things are supposed to be easy online.

Until you provide the details of what the client wants, no one can correctly give you a quote that will match the job because the quote may be higher or lower for the project in question.

Try to be more detailed or specific so as to avoid misunderstanding with web designers and do get a contract if possible to protect all the parties involved.

How right can the price be? fotonigeria.com is cool but I can't see any reason to believe that the 2 projects have similar requirements in terms of skill sets or proficiency in php.

16hrs to charge a battery bank? That's strange and ineffective. Even a battery bank of 48v 1200Ah can be charged under 10 hours if the battery bank is fully discharged.

Our inverters come with chargers (inbuilt) that gurantee complete recharging under 6 hours unless the end user isn't telling the whole truth.

Designing inverter is one thing, sizing a battery bank properly is another. Unfortunately, if you don't get a system from someone that understands both very well, your investment may just be money down the drain.

For close to 2 years now, I have used a generator for less than 3 weeks cummulatively and 75% of that time frame was when the transformer on Allen (my office side) went bad.

A lot of people are using inverters to provide for backup and there is a thin line between sweet talks/adverts and real performance when put to task.
