texazzpete: Interesting discussion, wonderful to see how much knowledge we can disseminate and debate when we need to.
If Juju does exist, i have no doubt that it'd work on or for only those who believe fervently in it. I KNOW that there's no way i'll shoot anyone at point blank range with a Desert Eagle and it won't penetrate. I don't care what amount of 'jazz' (apologies to Rita of Koko Mansion) you've done, there's no way a bullet's gonna bounce off human skin Are you willing to take a bet and try it on someone that believes and uses juju to repel bullet on the condition that if the bullet does not penetrate he should return fire on you? If yes, I will get people that do this to take up your challenge. If no then stop turning a serious issue like this into a joke simply because you have not witnessed anything like this. |

Kenezi: Afam please, is you believe in it so much, shoot yourself in the chest with protection under Juju and put the video on youtube. We will judge if it is true or not then. You must be extremely stupid to ask me to do that because I have never claimed that I use juju. I know it works because of what I have seen people do right in front of me. It is a matter of choice that I don't use it because I believe it is based on evil powers from what I see. You must learn to discuss like a normal human being. If you are a christian how do you use the physical laws to explain some of the things I referenced from the bible. |

Can you briefly recount the process that led to the creation of states, including Lagos? If you remember, we were having a civil war when Odumegwu Ojukwu created the state of Biafra and the military didn’t believe in the division of this country. We believed that there should be one country, no matter the difference. So, when he heard that Ojukwu wanted to create Biafra and that the whole of the East, including Rivers State and Cross River State would be included in it, we acted. We felt that Ojukwu should be used as a catalyst.
We just used the opportunity to create more states. That is how we thought of creating states and we drew the carpet off Ojukwu’s feet. It was a masterstroke. By the time he announced the state of Biafra, the other states and parts of Biafra were no more with him. South East and Rivers states were created out of that area. They became autonomous states and we gave them money from the centre to organise their states, though they couldn’t operate as states in time, because of the civil war. Ojukwu was just a catalyst in the creation of states.
In the creation of state, I said Lagos should not be left out. Administration began from Lagos. There was a time Lagos belonged to the West and there was a time it belonged to the Federal Government. By the time I came on board, Lagos was a federal capital. Lies will always fall like a pack of cards any day. Was Nigeria fighting a civil war when the states were created on May 27th 1967? No. Did Ojukwu declare any republic of Biafra before the states were created? No. Biafra was declared on May 30th 1967, 3 days after the new states were created by Gowon as the agreement reached at Aburi was discarded. These things are facts and I am shocked that someone that was there at Aburi could mislead people here. His statement that Ojukwu accepted Gowon as head of state was stated in the original post when the where about of Ironsi and Fajuyi were finally revealed as demanded by Ojukwu. The original thread made it clear that Ojukwu stated he was going to work under Gowon at the meeting and amongst other demands by Ojukwu the Head of State title was adopted as against the title of Supreme Commander. Is it really difficult for people to stand by the truth all the time? |

RichyBlacK: My assertion that juju claims are false is not because I'm trying to promote Islam or Christianity, but because I'm trying to promote the inviolable physical laws.
Juju claims that rest in the psychological e.g., claiming to see spirits or ghosts, claiming to see a woman turn into a cat or a man turn into a goat, etc. are possible. We just cannot stop people from hallucinating can we?
However, basing reality on a hallucination is laughable. It's like a schizophrenic claiming that the voices he/she hears are real. No they're not.
Can someone explain to me why Juju Airlines is yet to be launched, given that there is juju that can make a person disappear and reappear in any location of his/her choosing? No tickets necessary. No visa necessary. Just land New York gbam! Claims? I have witnessed people being shot at close range (less than a meter) severally without the bullet penetrating. Is this a newspaper publication? It is sad how people twist information to justify a position. The bible records that Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead after 3 days. Does this obey or disobey the physical laws you seem to respect 100% of the time? Jonah was reported to have been swallowed by a fish only to be delivered where God wanted him to go. Is this a violation of the physical laws? Sarah gave birth to a child after menopause. Does this obey the physical laws? No one is asking you to practice juju. But denying its existence simply based on the fact that you have not witnessed it is unfortunate. What would you do if you see someone being shot several times and nothing happens? Believe in juju or explain it away as another flavor of the spiritual laws? |

Jakumo: It is both fascinating and very sobering to note how all the die-hard believers in hocus-pocus and magic show not the slightest concern about the monstrous daylight killing of a woman by brain-dead and bloodthirsty ululating African savages, many of whom would be better off dead and removed from the gene pool, than free to roam the streets constantly looking to vent the frustrations of their pointless lives via the wanton slaughter of innocents.
Every last one of the people in this forum and beyond, who remain so devoted to ramming their third-world philosophy of irrational fears down the throats of others, is without question a potential participant in mob murder, who would instantly set upon another human being and participate in beating that person to death with no provocation required beyond that of screamed accusations from fellow lunatics who simply dream up imaginary crimes that would NEVER stand up to the scrutiny of even the most rudimentary judicial process. I am sensing desperation here riddled with lies. I stated that I am not in support of killing anyone and would not do so or even participate in such. This makes nonsense of your lie above. Again, ignorance is displayed here because those who have seen charms work have stated some of their real life experiences but because you already have a mindset that charms don't work and that those stories cannot be true you have chosen to dismiss them even though you don't have prove to do so. SEFAGO: That is a logical contradiction. You cannot believe in something and it doesn't exist- if you consider epistemological arguments- it is impossible for you not to know and to know. If you know something then it exists. If you don't it doesn't exist. What you are trying to say is you have never seen charms or you don't believe in charms- and that maybe charms don't exist. But then your belief was never justified if charms actually exist and so unjustified belief means no knowledge. If you know something then it exists and if you don't then it doesn't? Where the hell did you get that from? So, if you don't know the answer to 1 + 1 then the answer does not exist? Wonderful theory. I may know the answer to 1 + 1 and still tell you it is 3 may be because I am living in denial. I have seen charms work so it exist. However, I do not believe in them as I seen them more or evil powers than good powers, simple. If you are so sure of this why not go challenge those who use them and come back here to tell us stories that is if you are alive to do so. SEFAGO: I am just giving you guys an example of why science cannot always cohere all the time with logic. Not because science is wrong, but because science is built on probabilistic assumptions.
Long and short- This story is a big fat lie- the okada man just knocked an innocent woman down, mobilized his boys, they beat the woman for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. helped you summarize the witch story. This story is also full of contradictions- why, if she could turn into a cat not do so again front of people to escape? Is her only power a cat? if she could kill people- why was she allowing herself to get beaten up? Man anytime I am on Nairaland, and hear what ppl say, I just keep playing this song in my head :Zombie oh Zombie, Zombie, Zombie way go follow anyone The story is a big fat lie because you say so. No proof, no evidence just your opinion and words are enough to make a story lie. Is that your line of thought here? richcookie: Thirdly, when will we nigerians understand that everthing that happens is not always superstition. If one should levitate, most nigerians will say na juju he use! Many practises exist that can make things happen. It is a known fact that if you want to do miraculous things, you can find books on them on the internet. Books exist that will teach you LEVITATION, CASTING SPELLS, CALLING UP GOOD AND BAD SPIRITS, POWERFUL SACRIFICES YOU CAN PERFORM, MENTAL TELEPATHY, HYPNOSIS, MIND TRAVEL, MONEY CREATION METHODS, SATANIC RITUALS ETC,
Everything can be explained! The woman did not go from a cat and become human. Trust me it is a figment of someones immagination. You believe in levitation because science explains it but don't believe in juju because you have not seen it documented by scientists? Is this your position? |

RichyBlacK: These laws CANNOT be violated. Theories like special relativity, quantum mechanics and string theory only build on them and offer better explanations, especially at sub-atomic levels:
1. The laws of thermodynamics (Violating any of these laws will instantly solve the energy problems we face today, and consequently preserve our planet)
2. Newton's laws of motion (Any violator can cripple the world's aviation network - plane no go fly)
3. Kepler's laws planetary motion (Any violator can stop the seasons and effectively stop experiential time)
4. Newton's (as well as Gauss') laws of universal gravitation (A violation of this law will send the moon crashing to the earth and the earth crashing into the sun - all life perishes at an instant!)
5. Coulomb's law of electrostatic force (Say goodbye to the internet!) Laws are being reviewed as more tests, experiments and discoveries dictate. The world has been in existent for many years but most of these laws were created by men and women just a few hundred years ago. Does that mean that these events never existed before the likes of Newton? Lower level science teaches till today that an atom is the smallest indivisible particle of an element but higher level science makes it clear that an atom can be divided. Nuclear fission is a good example (if my memory serves me right). I don remember another story in my final year in the university. The best graduating student in one of the faculties (no specifics here), a Camerounian traveled home just before convocation and got drowned. He spent close to 1 week inside the water. His people who obviously understood the marine world according to information that later came out carried out some sacrifices and this guy came out of the water but lost his vocals so could not talk. Up to 7 days and the guy no be fish and he survived. Don't know if he ever regained that. Beaf: Afam, change dat place where you dey play ball o!. . . maxsiollun: 2) Lt-Col Katsina was not in charge of the 1st Recce Squadron when it was used to suppress the Tiv riots. Major Anuforo was in charge of the 1st Recce Squadron at the time and his anger at being ordered to shoot Tiv protesters was one factor that pushed him to take part in the coup. I guess Anuforo was pissed off for the right reasons here. maxsiollun: 3) Lt-Col Katsina actually risked his life to save Igbos during the bloody pogroms of 1966. He personally confronted some of the murderous mobs in order to stop them from killing Igbos. I guess that was why he told Ojukwu that if he knew what some of them did to save the Igbos in the North that they would be given medals. Good to know that some of these men were not totally bad as earlier implied. |

The people are more dubious than ever, poverty is at an all time high as government officials continue their pilferage of the little there is, utilitiy bills cost a bomb, and it seems if you are a foreigner, especially a Nigerian, you are targeted ALL the time. Those of us that are here, call ourselves 'energy refugees'! If there was electricity in Nigeria, which is the pivot around which all else swings, we would be back home like yesterday.
Yes, Vodoo ( not Orisha ) is the official religion! And it shows, the people are both evil and diabolic. I wish all the people that are projecting that Benin will be the hub after Ghana, luck. What one needs is a six month stay minimum, among the people, not two nights at the Novotel! I think when journalists come into town, they should interview those of us living here, instead of wining and dining with the very few indigenes, alot of who make their money from drugs and shady business deals.
" As Cotonou is changing ", so are the people staying the same, @Beaf, Don't bother convincing anyone. It is clear some of us are simply ignorant of the facts. I like you, but am worried about this thing you have posted, having had a quick look, I noticed alot of 3rd party css and js on this site, the plus side, the structure and layout is neat and clean.
Downside is that it looks too generic, just like some other sites, which i think you have been involved in like justalternativepower.com and justwebservices.com
It would be nice if you can have something new and fresh, just my views to be honest. Thanks. I agree that's a tough one though. Once the structure and functionality is stable enough I may look for a good designer to work on the front end. For now the usefulness of the website is what I am really bothered about. But at least dis one na 3 columns so e still different from the sites you referenced. Thanks any way for your honest feedback. The css and js that are not written from scratch all belong to the same development platform, they are not gotten from any 3rd party sha. Enjoy the weekend. |

Onlytruth: I see all attempts to inject Nzeogwu into this discourse as attempts to derail the thread, because we are discussing what happened at Aburi, remember? The Accord signed and trashed! I see the same pattern here from KnowAll to you, whereby you both switch freely from blaming Igbo for the coup of Jan 1966 to saying that "Mid-Westerners" should say their views here-as if they are part victims of the coup. Nzeogwu conveniently becomes Igbo whenever you justify the mass murder of innocent civilians and the war, but you conveniently forget that he was a Mid-Westerner! In fact, you can take the comment above to any bank and they will give you cash. Meanwhile, these truth twister also conveniently forget that Ojukwu and even Ironsi foiled the coup that was led by Nzeogwu who though a Mid Westerner is usually labelled Igbo just to justify the many lies and massacre of innocent Igbo people by the Northerners and their supporters. Facts are facts, they don't lie, they don't change whereas lies usually fall like pack of cards anytime any day. Seek the truth, see the light, shun lies and bold enough to associate with the truth regardless of the consequences. Unfortunately, the average Nigerian would rather go to war than accept a mistake no matter how obvious or glaring the mistake is. |

To be honest, I don’t think there was a general impression that the banking industry was OK. There has been liquidity problem which I have always said. The fear is that the President can reverse this action and there are already rumours that this action is aimed at implementing a northern agenda? I was appointed by the President and the President has never interfered in my work. I’m the governor of the CBN. I’m acting under power given to me by the CBN Act. In exercising this power and in doing what I have done, I have briefed the President. Of course, I was appointed by the President. He knows exactly what I saw. He knows exactly why I took the action. He has told me that he has every confidence in me. I have no reason to believe that he would reverse it. I have also told the affected banks that if I have acted outside CBN Act, the best place to report to is the court of law and not the President. I want to assure you that the President is behind me in this.
On the northern agenda, on a matter of policy, I never allow other people to defend me when an allegation is made against me. Everybody who knows me knows that I’m not a detribalised but an untribalised Nigerian. At the age of 8, I went to a Catholic boarding school. At the age of 10, I went to Kings College, Lagos. It is almost impossible to see a sector or office without one fraud/looting or the other.
Until we implement the death penalty on corruption we will be wasting time with these people.
China is not stupid by putting to death people who steal public money.
We have a lot of money in this country and yet the overwhelming majority are living in poverty while a few individuals steal and loot the funds meant for the nation with reckless abandon.

Redman44: Well, here they go again I hope these new set of power projects will not become white elephant projects. There is no need to waste time beating about the bush. The Federal Government should award the contract to the Canadians [ Any reputable power company in Canada will do the job ]. Canada is even supplying some parts of the United States electricity. I also think it is time the Federal Government starts conducting research into how the weather, natural resources and mineral deposits of each region in Nigeria can be used to provide electricity for the inhabitants. This is what the canadians and scandinavians are good at. We should start looking at tapping power from the sun for Northern Nigeria [ Solar energy ], Using Coal to light up Eastern Nigeria [ also looking at exploiting waterfalls, rivers [ Oguta lake ] and streams in the area to generate energy ], Southern Nigeria can be powered by a combination of the sun, water and Nuclear energy [ Ondo state has solid mineral resources that can be used to power the region ].
Above all, sincerity of purpose and honesty is what we need from those behind the new power projects. $4.6 billion [ we need more than that to power Nigeria ] is a good start. The projects should not be handed to Asians, please Just look at how Canada is using the Niagara falls to power the provinces of their country.
President Yar'Adua should also consult Nigerian engineers on the project. Fellow Nairalanders, check out this site:
www.justalternativepower.com
A Nigerian based in Nigeria has begun a silent revolution in generating electrical power for individual Nigerians. We have geniuses in Nigeria o . Have a great day. Cheers. I agree with you on the issue of having more than enough natural resources to generate all the electricity need of all Nigerians. However, we must not invite foreigners for these things to work. I believe we have Nigerians that can take up the challenge. Thanks for referencing my website though. For more than 5 years I have never used a generator in my office and I can't even work without power and the inverter was built locally by my team from components in the regular electrical shops. I have been talking about energy efficiency that can even crash the current energy need regardless of the numbers the relevant authorities are presenting. We have a golden opportunity to provide steady and reliable power supply at the fraction of the funds being budgeted and squandered every year. |

As for me I have made it clear to him, no more discussions until he states his age.
Don't be surprised you are wasting time with a 13yr old using his father's laptop whenever he is not around.
This is the rantings and utterances of a teneeger, bring up something concrete and factual and u will be answered accordingly. Are you referring to this thread or another one? How many times have people corrected your many blunders? How many lies have been exposed here? If you had any shame you would have taken say 2 weeks break but for a chronic liar that you are I know I am asking for the impossible here. Your infatuation with God father movie and Hassan Katsina has effectively blinded you so you are incapable of any discussion based on facts, logic and common sense. And by the way, what's the big deal in answering my very simple question? How old are you? Basic nursery school question. |
