chidichris:Ribadu told you that Bode George was clean? Are you real? Is there no limit to your baseless accusations? |
So, what foreigners think about Nigeria is far more important than what Nigerians go through and what they think about Nigeria? Who |
Moranike:I don't think AIT was asked to stop airing the program. The issue is with the anchor man. |
bibiking1:Yes, no government will allow information that will discredit it to continue to come out if it can stop the information flow. No one can dispute this it is just that in this part of the world people are even killed just to hide information especially by the rich and powerful, not necessarily the government because to me the government represents the buildings and structures whereas those that run the affairs are the guilty ones. As stated on another thread my position on tackling corruption is simple Curtailing corruption is simple if we are honest to sort it out. However, we should not make it easy for the government to shut down information channels just as we should not make it easy for armed robbers to rob us. Thank God for the internet information flow is instant and the reach respects no physical boundaries. Should we then abuse the channel and give the government a reason to shut it down? No. That is why we must support and push for responsible discussions and criticisms without shortchanging ourselves by making it easy for the government to clamp down on any information channel. Same with our own Gbenga, was the programme scrapped? No. Same programme but different anchor. When El-Rufai started talking about FG's plan to refuse renewing his passport what happened? Did the government bother to respond? Nope. Not until a compelling case was made by providing proof via correspondence and the next thing was someone was fired, the presidency dissociated itself and the issue of passport renewal sorted out. That is how to use our intelligence to challenge government not insults and abuses that some of us throw around everyday which will make those we are supposed to be criticizing dismiss comments as childish because you don't need to taint a good criticism with insults as the insults may provide a back door for the respondent to focus on the insult and turn the issue into another thing entirely. |
bibiking1:As usual, I will respond to anything I disagree with especially where wrong allegations are made about me. I maintain the highest level of professional integrity in business where projects worth hundreds of millions are turned down due to requests for kick backs or for illegal activities. So, when it comes to your comment about tainted conscience I see you as someone that is desperate to divert the issues raised. As stated, for the simple fact that I use my real name and my business and contact information is available for anyone on the internet to see I must not make statements I cannot defend and I will not do so to please the majority. When I disagree with anything I put it in writing and send to the media and I have never been found wanting because I base what I write on facts, facts that cannot be refuted, facts that stand the test of time. I don't dwell on rumors, falsehood and conspiracy theories. I design software and build database driven web applications for people. I build locally made inverters for people so I do not need government patronage whatsoever to survive and I maintain my credibility and integrity all year round without any fear of anything. Gbenga was doing well until he started going out of control where he comes across as someone who may have been paid to discredit the government even with unsubstantiated claims. I watch and enjoy the program even though I had reservations about the way he was doing the job because he was not being balanced and fair even to some of his guests as a journalist should. Journalism is not the same thing as activism especially when you are working for someone because should something go wrong with AIT due to his own actions he will not be the only person that will suffer but all employees of AIT. Let him setup a TV station and let us see whether he will do the same as the owner. We must not be carried away by certain things lest we end up shooting ourselves in the foot. I challenge and defend my right anywhere I am and I believe Nigerians should learn to do so. I have practically fought with PHCN officials due to the fraud they perpetrate with meter readings and today I never get bills based on estimate and I pay for what I use as they know that I will never pay my bills based on the estimate and I have proven that in the past. I do my part to curtail corruption by refusing to offer or pay bribes to police regardless of the issues. Sometimes I am detained for hours but I make it clear to them that even if I have to sleep there I don't have any problems doing so as I will never pay any bribe. You cannot complain about corruption and anytime you have the opportunity you pay bribe to the police, PHCN, LATSMA etc and still have the guts to complain about the society. So, better start effecting change in your own immediate environment and stop looking for the easy way out where all you do is claim every government official is an idiot or a thief and anyone that tries to present information based on facts is labeled a government agent. Feel free to trash what I write as I am not a people pleaser so do not write to impress you or anyone. I follow my conscience and put down what i believe is the truth and what is not only factual but defensible if there is need to defend them. I do not have the leeway most of you have to hide under screen names to make comments you cannot defend. As a matter of fact most of us here would end up in jail or pay heavily for libel if people begin to take us to task with some of the allegations we make. |
Curtailing corruption is simple if we are honest to sort it out. 1. Match wealth and assets of people with their sources of income and let them explain the discrepancies if any. 2. Those that cannot explain the sources should forfeit same to the government for public use. 3. Those that have been proven to steal from the public treasury should be executed. Do these things and corruption will be a thing of the past in Nigeria and that is when the younger ones with ideas will flourish and turn this country into a progressive one that will be the envy of the rest of world. We have more than enough human and natural resources to guarantee that no one suffers unjustly. |
On the web the language is the link. On the web the essence is to enable visitors complete tasks from finding or searching for information to buying stuff. What works in the regular print media usually would not work on the web because people are usually in a hurry to complete tasks and then move on to other things. It is one thing for the owner to fall in love with the website but it is entirely another thing for the website to be useful for those it was setup for in the first place - the fans and the users. Not all of them will sell their computers just to access the website neither will they settle for broadband internet access to be able to view the website. The creativity on the website is ok but it should not create confusion, there are basic standards that must be respected. You don't buy a brand new car and begin to look for the ignition area because out of creativity the manufacturer decided to put it on the door. So, basically the issues I see are 1. No logical navigation 2. Loading time I respect people that think outside the box so the creativity introduced is good but should fall within acceptable standards that will not leave the visitor confused or frustrated. |
Echua A:You see the problem I have with people like you who cannot process information like human beings. I don't work for the government and I don't work for anyone because I run a business like every other Nigerian who gets to comment on issues bothering Nigeria and Nigerians. Why must anyone that does not believe in your rumor as you put it become a friend or defender of the government? Is this how low our level of reasoning has become? When OBJ was in power even corrupt politicians who suddenly lost out in the power play in PDP automatically became defenders of the people by saying anything negative about OBJ. For sure, I believe that majority of comments coming from this forum (even though the most popular Nigerian forum in the world) are dismissed and discarded because they are usually rumors, lies and unsubstantiated claims. And the bandwagon and mob effect continues where people takes sides on argument based on what they think the majority is siding and in the process we have discussions that are far from responsible and factual. If you base all you do on rumors then do not expect others to agree with them because reasonable people know that rumors will not get you anywhere in life. It is possible for you to like Gbenga and his program while disagreeing with some of the things he does especially the way he does them. That is maturity and from the average age of people who write nonsense here I think they may need say 5 - 10 more years for them to begin to discuss responsibly. |
mikeansy:Probably the same reason why the owner of Nairaland has not been locked up? Do you really watch the program in question? If the FG was against the program it would not bother accepting a new anchor, it would have asked for complete removal. You guys should address the issues based on the merits and demerits otherwise the corrupt politicians will simply look at the inputs and dismiss them as baseless and it is sad. Blanket commendation or condemnation will not do anyone any good, rather it will provide some form of cover for those that should be ordinarily exposed. |
@RichyBlack, It seems you are going round and round this time. You are making a lot of contradictory statements that will do your reputation and/or integrity no good. You are in a hurry to make categorical statements even when they cannot withstand any serious scrutiny. Enjoy the rest of the week as you continue to redefine your positions along the way based on facts. |
bibiking1:Could you be more explicit? Who is protecting the president? It is worrisome to note that these days once you do not agree with anything that is against the government even for good reasons you become a supporter of the government. For a supposedly educated Nigerian it is in itself a tragedy. Those of us who do not hide our identity are able to do so because when you base your criticisms on facts that you can defend no one will do anything to you. I have been invited to places like EFCC to defend my criticisms which were based on facts, pure facts and I defended them well and they agreed with those criticisms so when some of you hide behind a computer to type things that cannot be substantiated and expect every other person to fall in line and support same I dare say it won't work. A blind man leading another blind man will fall into the ditch. Can you identify yourself, go to a TV station and rain abuses on the president based on the freedom of speech? If you can do that then let me know the TV station and time so that I will watch you. If you cannot then hold you peace so that Nigerians that are trying their best to make Nigeria work can do so instead of idle talk about revolution while hiding behind usernames. |
charlione:When it comes to making laws we should hold our representatives responsible because it is their duty to do so. All the noise about 3rd term died the moment the law makers voted against it. We must address those responsible for our problems squarely instead of simplifying the whole thing by blaming the president while those who make things easy for him are left out of the blame. OBJ even as a sitting president saw the 3rd term project crash so it is a matter of being courageous enough to do what is right. However, I still maintain that there is no country that does not have limits to what you consider freedom of speech. There is usually a thin line between criticisms and incitement. It is not about Gbenga, even a former minister was picked up in Enugu for making comments that seemed like he was suggesting the military come back to power. |
My first post on this thread was There is nothing like freedom of information when it is abused. Power is nothing without control. Then this idiot responded thus foyeks2001:And she has the audacity to claim someone insulted her first. This is the type of lies that shameless people tell all the time and expect others to tolerate their excesses. foyeks2001:As stated earlier, you are simply an idiot who cannot process information otherwise you would have focused on the thread and not labeling people PA or SA to anyone just because you disagree with the person. People like you will always be put where they belong on discussion forums. |
foyeks2001:Just do 2 things for me. Get your basic spelling of words right and then get a boyfriend. Don't take your frustration out on me. So, I should agree with the opinions of others because it is easier to do so? It is idiots like you that will cheer people to their deaths even when you will never dare what you cheer them to do. It is hypocrites and confused women like you who cannot think with their brains that will be the first to spew nonsense all in the name of posting comments on a public forum. |
foyeks2001:Sorry, I don't work for either of them. I am not just as lazy as you when it comes to thinking. Just needed to clarify that lest you think my avoiding the stupid remark (which every single Nigerian makes anytime he/she cannot defend a position) you made. chidichris:I talk am before, you cannot complete a post without referencing OBJ. A clown like you that prefers and campaigns for the likes of IBB and Orji Uzo Kalu should hide his head in shame. You think (like Gbenga who by the way I respect and like his program but for some unsubstantiated and sometimes wrong or false statements about what is going on) that once you say that OBJ or the government is mad you become the darling of the masses. Sorry, such nonsense stopped working a long time ago. I challenge those of you talking about freedom of speech to go close to Obama and call him a bastard or an idiot. I don't even need to ask you to do same to our Nigerian politicians. You encourage and support someone who is over stepping his bounds by making unsubstantiated remarks and inciting remarks about the government and if God forbid something negative happens to him you will still type rubbish on the internet about him. Gbenga is a good guy who over does it especially when he is carried away with the praises sycophants send his way. I watch his program anything it is on and my TV is on even though I express shock at some of his comments and wonder why he is not being called to order. We like pushing people all in the name of supporting them but will dodge or run away if asked to even do 5% of what these guys are doing for us. |
RichyBlacK:Trust me my friend there is no stalemate here. The issues are clear and straightforward enough for any discerning mind to understand. Now you have brought up the issue of evidence do you have any evidence to support the splitting of the red sea by Moses just to allow the Israelites pass through? You cannot ask for evidence of juju when you cannot provide any to back up any of the events that defy physical laws in the bible. That would amount to hypocrisy and double standards. In any case, thanks for agreeing that juju exists. Trust me I would have stopped posting on this thread if you had made this statement a long time ago. Enjoy the rest of the week. |
RichyBlacK:I am sorry RichyBlack I will not be going down that route with you - endless diversions and questions without any end in sight. I don't practice juju so cannot tell you the limits. I thought the issue was whether it exists or not? If correct, then your question about the limits is uncalled for. Make no mistake about it, on this issue you goofed big time and the earlier you started reconciling the many contradictions you have gotten yourself into the better for you. Let me break it down for you as regards the position on christianity and juju based on physical laws. 1. You believe in the stories in the bible that clearly defy physical laws based on faith. 2. You believe juju does not exist because it means it will defy physical laws based on science. While you are at home with the two positions above let me prove the inconsistency and contradiction to you. Now someone that believes and practices juju could hold a very valid position using the exact same logic you employed 1. The person would claim that he believes in juju even when they defy physical laws based on faith and even personal experience. 2. The person would (or could) claim that christianity is fraud simply because it defies physical laws based on logic. In fact, the person who believes in juju would be more credible since he/she has personal experience or encounter that can add to the faith whereas in your own case the only thing you have is faith. I wake up and sleep on science and technology. I challenge theories, I use them and I appreciate them. I also have faith and that gives me a cover for my christian belief. I have seen juju at work and based on my own understanding I believe it is more of evil powers than good powers otherwise I would have delved into it to understand how it works. If any of the experiences had been based on good things I would have checked it out by getting into it. You cannot claim that juju does not exist and yet be asking for people to prove it for you. Personally, if I can make a categorical statement that something does not exist then asking for proof would mean either of two things 1. I am not even convinced in my statement or 2. I am simply stupid and confused For example, if I tell you that I am a man (because I have penis) and you tell me that it is a lie and ask me to prove that I am a man by getting naked and displaying my penis do you think I will do so just to prove you wrong? Nope, I will ignore your position and request because they simply don't make sense. Put differently, if you claim you have 15 heads on your shoulders and I state it is a lie. Do you think I will ask you to prove that you have 15 heads for monetary rewards? Nope, I won't do that because the issue does not exist since I have already made up my mind that it is impossible. So, anyone that claims that juju does not exist and is still looking for proof is either confused, silly or both as you cannot belong to both sides of the divide at the same time. |
RichyBlacK:You see why I stated that you have now gone into desperation mode? No one told you that juju has no limits yet you have repeated that those who claim juju exists claim it does not have limits. Why the obvious lie? Where then is the credibility? What of integrity? Making a false statement just to advance your position is desperate and in bad taste. I was certain no one made that claim hence my decision to task you on the claim. Now you have proven the claim was non existent. What is mermaid? Does it exist? You may watch the video below of the young girl that died at 10 with fused legs without rectum, genitals etc. Is this normal? Does this defy the physical laws of reproduction and does this follow the normal human form? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091024/ap_on_en_tv/us_obit_pepin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8okYhcRwrgY |
RichyBlacK:@RichyBlack, Please, you are too intelligent in my opinion to go down this route. Every single attempt to justify your position has been poor or pathetic as someone put it as you constantly create new diversions instead of addressing issues. Now, let me take you to task on the claims made above. Who stated that juju does not have limits? Just provide an answer to this simple question as it seems you have spent the greater part of your last posts holding on to this statement that I believe no human being with a brain can make - that juju does not have any limits. So, tell us who made the claim so that we can tell the person to shut up on time. |
Climate change is real but considering the quality of responses thus far on this topic by those that are simply ignorant of the basics of what they are supposed to be commenting on it makes no sense to even provide facts and examples to demonstrate the reality on ground. |
I also believe that no witch can harm me. I believe people who get afflicted or attacked one way or the other involve themselves in one form of diabolical powers or the other and so it becomes a war in the spiritual realm where the higher power wins. But as someone that does not subscribe to diabolical powers my belief is that whatever that is done at that level will not have effect on me since I don't operate on the same level. It is like conditional logic based on different programming languages. A code written in PHP will simply be useless if it is expected for a JAVA interpreter to execute the code because they don't have the same syntax and construct. Again, no one is against RichyBlack holding on to his positions, it is just that such positions are contradictory and cannot stand any objective scrutiny. I am a christian and see juju as negative power that is at 180 degrees away from my christian belief as regards good and bad. However, because I have seen it work I will be foolish to wish it away based on convenience. I don't have to like or practice something for me to accept it exists or works. In other words, sentiments have no place on issues like these. Everything about my work is science based and because I have seen theories updated, changed or even discarded based on recent research I know that the worst thing that can happen to anyone is to become intellectually stubborn all in the name of claiming to be logical. The regular incandescent bulb wastes up to 90% of energy going into it just to give light whereas the energy wasted is turned into heat. They are based on AC since DC was seen as a current that cannot challenge AC in the long run. Today, LEDs are taking over and they are based on DC where less than 20% of the energy going into them are wasted to produce light which makes them far more efficient than regular incandescent bulbs. From consumer electronics to cars and street lights what used to be seen as a difficult or expensive option as regards electricity is now changing the world and the way we use electricity. However, those who condemned DC in the past were physicists and experts in the field who based on the knowledge they had then came up with what they thought was the best. I believe in respecting other peoples' positions on issues whether I agree with them or not but in doing so we must practice what we preach so when we ask for logic we must be willing to use logic and not discard it when logic proves us wrong. On issues like these there must be no middle ground, we must agree and use a standard to discuss otherwise we would continue to introduce diversions just to prolong and confuse an otherwise simple matter. |
There is nothing like freedom of information when it is abused. Power is nothing without control. Personally, I have wondered why the station is allowed to air some very inciting stories which are usually unconfirmed and unsubstantiated. Unfortunately, Nigerians have wrongly assumed that once you say anything against the government then you are a good person. Information must be used and disseminated responsibly. |
399 Forums / Islam for Muslims / Re: Prophet Muhammad in the Bible on: September 22, 2006, 06:04 AM Gender: MaleLittle wonder the guy who posted the content in quote posted the crap below. SEFAGO:Lesson of the day - Check the age of people who keep displaying stupidity before deciding to respond to them or not. My last response to this idiot on this thread. |
This is how confused people process information and make highly contradictory statements without any shame. First, the bold but stupid statements. SEFAGO:Next, the typical questions they are seeking answers to just to convince them or for them to learn what they think is impossible. SEFAGO:And finally, the contradictions. SEFAGO:The same person states categorically that juju does not exist. The same person states categorically that it is possible juju exists. The same person states categorically that christianity does not exist. The same person states categorically that if juju exists then it must have more powers than christianity that he claims does not exist. This is what you get when you allow clowns access to topics they shouldn't be allowed to even read let alone contribute to. Highly inconsistent, low level or reasoning and a fundamentally flawed thought process. |
chidichris:I actually placed a bet with myself that the writer cannot finish his post without making reference to OBJ at least twice. In the end he did not disappoint! |
cjcllue:Hmmmmmm owner: |
Closed minds, stiff mindsets and and ignorance all contribute to the level of backwardness in Nigeria not belief in the existence of juju. It is now obvious that people simply want to experience this before they believe - something that is very difficult as not everyone will experience it. I have seen people die while fighting themselves with guns while others clearly repelled bullets shot at them at close range others died. This is no movie. |

u are a fool and a coward, people like u shud not be in this country, your mate are in samariahh(where they dont think) because u just open that your big stinking mouth to vomit rubbish
