And those that believe that fairytale about people not being shot, abeg tell me, who sanwo olu was apologizing to yesterday Who did sanwo Olu visit at the hospital yesterday Who did Osinbajo in his tweets apologize to Why is the government setting up investigation panels to investigate the "SHOOTING" at lekki toll gate And why is it that only Known Buhari supporters on Nairaland are the ones denying that there was no shooting? We all know how their mouths emanates lies. |

richie240: Is that what u call 'voting', where less than 15% voted in a country of 200million? If the masses had used half of this same energy in voting in the right leadership across board, perhaps we won't be in this quagmire.
Moreover, 'speaking against govt' is good but when it has turned to anarchy, then thats a different ball game together!
Instead of playing into the hands of 5th columnists who have bn chanting the disintegration of the 'zoo' ds past 5 yrs, they shd mobilize themselves against 2023 by ensuring that they not only vote, but vote in d right leaders! That's exactly what I have been telling others. With the kind of momentum this protest has garnered, a political party can be formed and used to push the preferred candidates of the youths in the coming 2023 election. |
Politics › Re: Tinubu Appeals To EndSARS Protesters To Call Off Protests by Aflix(m): 12:09pm On Oct 20, 2020 |
richie240: And that is by civil disobedience? What happens to d voters card? Election time ask them to vote, they'll all stay indoors and later complain of ineptitude leaders. So who has d greater blame? We voted! Some of Those protesting even voted in this government, but we've all realised that they are failing without any hope of getting things better. We voted for a government doesn't mean we shouldn't speak against that government. |

We supported the movement from the start, we all wanted SARS to end. The terms were clearly outlined.
Fine, the government looked into it. They attended to the one that could be immediate and countless assurances that the rest are getting fixed.
Ok, the ovation is loud now, can we bow out and embrace dialogue and restrategize? The influencers who were cashing out said, NO, we want magic to happen overnight. They said Segalink has cashed out too The protest is no longer about endsarZ. It's about Buhari's bad government, we both know it. Deal with it! |

seunmsg: Well said. The protest to end sars and police brutality is legitimate. No right thinking person will speak against the protest. However, now that government has agreed to the demands of the protesters, it’s time to halt the protest and allow government implement all the demands.
Continuing with the protest in the manner we have seen in the last few days would only lead to more violence, looting, extortion etc. This is the time for the protest to become strategic. Engagement and monitoring should be the next stage. The street protest has achieved its aim already, it’s time to call it off.
Again, the protest should never ever toy with the idea of a regime change; it will end in disaster if they go that route. Any attempt to forcefully overthrow a democratically elected government will ruin all the gains of the protest. I urge all those pushing the evil agenda of regime change to take a look at the outcome of similar adventure in Libya and Syria. We won’t allow Nigeria to go in that direction. The aim has not been achieved, not even halfway. The protest is now about an end to Buhari bad and anti-human type of governance and from the look of things, Buhari doesn't seem to have gotten the message. |

These 5th column!mists are gleefully enjoying d scenario, as their ORIGINAL intention for Nigeria is gradually coming to pass! Unfortunately, the sincere 'freedom fighters' aren't conscious enuff to see their smokescreen!

Romance › Re: The Hypocrisy Of Nigerian Men by Aflix(m): 6:36am On Oct 13, 2020 |
MhisTahrah: According to you, the reason for the double standards in marriage is because the husband shoulders more financial responsibilities. There are cases where husbands cry on nairaland because their wives earn more and contribute a larger percentage to household finances.I can even remember a thread I saw where a woman said she shoulders all the finances in the house and she was thoroughly bashed.
The issue here is not about what people would say but how men excuse cheating married men with comments such as 'it is a man's nature to cheat' or 'the wife must be doing something wrong' and turn to bash cheating women, casting aspersions on the female gender. The ratio of women that contributes more financially in a relationship to men in Nigeria is 2:10. |
Romance › Re: The Hypocrisy Of Nigerian Men by Aflix(m): 6:34am On Oct 13, 2020 |
Theslumflower: I will forever advice women to make their own money and be independent. Let your husband know you can do three times what he does when it comes to money.
From the above comments and ones from the thread, it's all about finances. Kill that financial gap and see how everything changes. They won't try it if they respect you because they know you will 100% thrive on your own and this is 21st century, there are hundreds of learned men who will marry a good, hardworking, pretty divorcee lady. Don't let Nairaland fool you.
As of the one up talking about bride price. Nobody forced you to pay. That one concern you and her kinsmen. Funny enough, how much wey you pay sef
Women have so much power. Some just haven't realized it yet, which is sad.
I've seen women that their hubby cheat on their faces and they won't say or do nothing SMH, thereby aiding the act. Definition of giving yourself no singlee value as a lady
Be a financially free woman from your husband and see how things turn around. Like they say, money stops nonsense. Thanks a lot for this. I hope all Nigerian women take this advice. |
Romance › Re: The Hypocrisy Of Nigerian Men by Aflix(m): 6:33am On Oct 13, 2020 |
MhisTahrah: I see you modified. The burden of wedding expenses is on both groom and bride. The fact that the groom VOLUNTARILY decides to finance it is his own problem. Some men feel shouldering financial responsibilities makes them more manly and subsequently feel emasculated if their partners have more financial power.
Are you kidding me?This varies individually but from most things we see online, it's obvious women invest more emotions in relationships than men.
You guys don't encourage women to make the first move.In fact she is often disrespected.
Refer to the above for this. So, emotional investment is the most important part of a relationship A relationship cannot move forward with only "emotions" |
