Omiinii:Congratulations Bro!!! That's very fast, just 10 days, with lots of public holidays inside self. Wish you all the best in Canada. |
Nice thread. Following bumper to bumper |
Motun260:Congrats in advance... It's certain your PPR will drop within few days after your medical is passed... When did your eligibility review start.? |
amila20042001:It will work, most of these electronics are dual voltage (Can use 110-120v and 220-240v). Brought my PS4 in the US and it works fine in Nigeria without doing anything to it, same with my Laptop (both have the US/Canada plug). I'm sure USA and Canada uses the same 120v. So you're good to go! |
CharitoJames:Oh, I see... Noted ![]() |
emmalextemtop:He already did. Check his most recent posts |
Olanrae:Okay, good. That's still better, those new April slots will get filled very fast and only May will be available again, the Lagos effect. |
Olanrae:When there are unconfirmed appointment slots, they reschedule/update the site and make the new unconfirmed dates available for booking so you should keep checking, you might get a date in April and if not, the available dates in May will show up. I'm sure an update is ongoing. Just check later |
Olanrae:It's not abnormal, Lagos is always like that, the next available date is in May. It's either you wait, or do it in Abuja. |
Belle110:For the wicked (IRCC) ![]() |
Afolavid:Wednesday - No PPR Thursday - 5 PPRs and still counting ![]() These PPRs dey sweet me for body... Congratulations to everyone who got their PPR today. Congrats in advance to those who will get later today and tomorrow ![]() |
Francieuche:Between you and I, you wan run away abi you no run.? No dey disguise my friend, na japa all of us dey. On a more serious note, your nursing admission does not show career progression with your previous studies. The chances of you getting an approval is quite slim but not impossible, it all depends on how well you can convince the VO in your SOP but to avoid wasting time, money and accumulating refusals, you can pursue admission in a course that shows career progression instead or a course that's related to your work experience. A PGC/PGD is better, you can visit the Study thread for more info. All the best! |
Johnvee11:Get your invite code here - https://ircc.canada.ca/visit-visiter/en/get-account-ircc-portal |
KellyKk:Your lamentations paid off!!! Give them the medical and collect your PPR. ![]() |
Tupalo:1. I've never applied there so i don't know about their admission duration. 2. The basic things used to prove ties with Aunt/Uncle are birth certificates and marriage certificates. Since you don't have pics together, you can show proofs that your Aunt sponsored you through your undergraduate studies. You can also add proofs that you're very close and communicate regularly. Additional documents like Letter of sponsorship, affidavit of sponsorship etc from your Aunt would be very useful as well. |

Scott99tish:There's no minimal. Since the maximum is $10k, it's left to each person to plan, strategize well and use their discretion as to how much cash they should hold. I've seen people who traveled without holding 5naira cash (though, they printed their SOA for POF at the POE and held their Visa card for POS transactions) and I've also seen some who carried $9.9k in cash, so it depends on each person. There's no minimum, only a maximum. |
Allegory:Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you! Wish you all the great things Canada has to offer you ![]() |
Adebamfem:Download Klasha or Barter by Flutterwave. Do the necessary verifications and fund your account in Naira, you'll then create a virtual dollar card which will be funded with the naira. You can make any international payments with the card. Very easy and fast! |
Monday - 1 PPR Tuesday - Can we have like 5 e joor.? Make una come drop your PPR updates ooh. |
Ketima:You did a great job, breaking everything down! |
Allegory:Sure! The additional part of my response isn't for the person who has a baby. It's just an additional info for others who might find themselves in a similar situation. |
Daslimo:Your SOP should also talk about your Home and Economic Ties, as a matter of fact, you should dedicate a whole subheading for it, it's that important. While talking about your home ties, you can chip it in for the VO that you've also added your siblings' IDs, family tree, land documents etc to support your submission. Same goes with your Financial Support, forget about the fact that you have a scholarship, you still need to talk about it, talk about your scholarship, how much it is, what and where the funds will be going to, break it down, tell the vo, even though you have scholarship, you still have so so amount available in your account in case you have to spend money for some things etc. That's what makes the VO convinced you know what you're doing and you've genuine study plans. Other relevant documents should be added as well even if you don't talk about them. |
aamey15:Welcome! You can't book in person, you'd be denied entry if you go there. You have to book online. |
aamey15:Open and read your Biometrics instruction letter, it'll outline the details of what you need to do. Appointment Booking link - https://visa.vfsglobal.com/nga/en/can/book-an-appointment Simply put, you'll book a date for your Biometrics appointment and go for the Biometrics on your appointment date, the Biometrics can only be done in the VFS office in Lagos or Abuja. |
Rapture07:Oh, sorry, That's a lot of money. Sometimes, the right info is all we need, most people having delays getting their passports or paying a lot of money to get one should note that there are states that issues passport easily, you don't necessarily have to do it in your state... Most of these overcrowded states - Lagos, Oyo,Ogun, etc would delay your passport or make you pay a lot of money to get it quickly. States with less traffic issues you passport in a day at a very cheap price, even close to the standard price. Seen a few people who went to Ekiti, Nassarawa, Taraba etc and got their passport in a day, they paid less than 35k. |
Ekesbaba1:No one knows when medical request will come, it might take weeks or even months, depending on your application timeline. But most times, if you really want to wait for a medical request, it often comes after eligibility has been passed, that's why most people that get medical request (after eligibility started) most of the time get their PPR after they do the medical. In your case, you can book your medicals and do it. It doesn't change anything or have any negative effect on your application. Traveling long distance again just because of medical request when you can do upfront medical isn't worth it imo. |
Ewaade23:You won't get an email notification, you'll only see that your medical has been updated to pass if you login. Simply put, you only get email notifications when an action is required from you or when a letter is involved. My response is for the new IRCC portal, I guess the GCKey also works the same way. |
Ohraykon:You're not new in travel section but you're new here, so you should be the one to calm down. If you're not new here, you'd have known there's no whatsapp group just as he said. |
Daslimo:Yes, old family photos are fine and you can use their birth certificates instead |
flavnwokem:Go and cry with your friend, stop crying in my mention. I said what I said based on those around me. |
Daslimo:In my opinion, you've added almost everything you should, I can't even think of something else you've not added based on your profile... You can just try to proof more home ties by adding applicable documents (e.g. birth cert/passport of siblings, etc)/pictures with your family here in Nigeria. All the best! |
