BlueRayDick: I’ve been busy of late, but I still took my time to read through the whole “ blame the west vs Hold ur African leaders accountable “ discussion. People on both sides of the table made good points 👍
However , One thing that caught my attention is the fact that some of the people who want Africans to keep the west out of their mouth but instead hold their leaders accountable ; are actually people who were either against ENDSARS , were defending government during the ENDSARS and even blamed the youth for the fall out of the protests.
I didn’t just arrive at this conclusion, I actually put “SARS” in front of monikers and did local search 🔍
The Blackman don suffer sha and the sufferness is proudly sponsored by his fellow Blackman. If he decides to face his immediate oppressors who are citizens like him voted to be in charge of government , his fellow Blackman will introduce tribal sentiments , propaganda , political sentiments to defend the oppressors . During colonial times the West was definitely the primary driver of African underdevelopment, and it can be argued that the haphazard balkanization and union of disparate ethnic groups set the stage for the perpetuation of many of the problems faced today. The problem is that until time travel becomes a reality most of the damage done by the West can't be corrected. Most of the problems faced by Africa TODAY are caused by Africans, in particular African leaders, and trying to pin the problems we face mainly on the West shows extreme lack of accountability. |

Even Palmer father will reject any adverse DNA finding now though, after football money done land You are right we used to call them Dougla in Trinidad. You will see 2 black looking people with Indian looking kids only to find out that 2 grand parents are Indian and 1 great-grandparent is Lebanese. There was one babe that i was trying to offer moral support that had 1 Spanish grandparent, 1 Lebanese grandparent, 1 Chinese grandparent, 1 Indian grandparent, and the Spanish grandparent was half black. She was a bit confused about her ethnicity so i tried my best to educate her in toto about the ups and downs of race and ethnic identity. |

I would say DNA testing is required here, but them resemble well well You would be surprised that Palmer's father has more white than black in him. They are so mixed in the Caribbean that their DNA sef don confuse. Sometimes the skin complexion will skip a generation and then come back depending on the new added mix. But in everything wisdom (DNA) is needed. |

larride: I thought most of what happened in HOTD was in ASOIAF and was written by GRRM?
Or you meant to say GRRM wasn't involved in the production of the show?
I did find the show enjoyable and interesting tho. Most of the casting were perfect just like GOT. Fire and Blood which is the source book for HOTD is not really an official part of ASOIAF. It was written separately as a backstory, and it was written differently. It didn't have the type of dialogues and detailed story telling that is seen in ASOIAF and reads more like a history book summarizing events than a novel. It is a good show but i think more could have been done in terms of developing the characters and the storyline like was done in the first 4-5 seasons of GOT. |

The Season 1 was a bit of a disappointment. The cast and writing were both inferior to GOT in my opinion. I wasn't too surprised the writing was sub-par because GRRM did not write the source book the way he wrote ASOIAF. |

larride: Same as the Targayen that marries from their family or from the family of Velaryon before the dance of the dragon.
It was after the dance of the dragon where most of their dragon perished that they started marrying other powerful houses in Westeros like Dorne and Vale. The Targaryens like you said were marrying that way to keep the Valyrian bloodline pure. Their focus was on bloodline purity. Nothing concerns the Julio-Claudians with pure bloodline. They married like that for political purposes not genetic purity. Many of them married family members that they didn't have blood connections with but purely to shore up support. |

larride: It's a way to keep the bloodline pure.
The Targayen does it in A Song of Ice and Fire (The book that was adapted to Games of Thrones). In this case it wasn't really about keeping bloodline pure as many of those getting married did not have direct blood relationship (although some did) but more about marrying within a select number of families that could be trusted for political support. |

Useless owners and managements. To be fair outside Greenwood and maybe Garnacho or Mainoo none of our recent academy players has the reputation of Palmer. You know clubs don’t just notice players for the first time when they make senior appearances. They are aware of other club’s players from even academy days and Palmer destroyed all other youth clubs in England and his potential is sky high. What they are paying for is his potential. |

Bokassa is probably the most egregious despot to ever exist in modern african history. There must be something in the water in that region Those leaders came to power because those countries were not equipped for a post-colonial existence. And yeah Bokassa was pretty awful but aside his cannibalism (which he claimed was accidental ) i think Nguema would give him a run for his money. Nguema was so bad his own family planned the coup that removed him. |

Nkunku replacement temporarily is what we're looking for and not competition for a bench warmer (madueke).
Buying palmer when we loan out Angelo is useless. Why are you arguing with me when i essentially agree with you? You guys are overloading on inexperienced attacking players. Through out my stay in primary, to secondary school, my first degree, masters and years of working the president of Cameroun is still Paul Biya
I don't understand the tolerance level of those countries u listed honestly. And it's not even as if those long term rulers have developed those countries over time to enviable standards. Togo has been ruled by an Eyadema since 1967. The father ruled from 1967 to 2005 and the son took over immediately in a very notorious and unconstitutional manner. The truth is that not all coups are military, and a civilian coup is actually more dangerous because it often hides underneath a cloak of legitimacy. |

nihilistjnr: You excluded the part where Ali Bongo (what a name by the way) got the senate to agree to a law that allows him to APPOINT senators. Yes, APPOINT senators.
There's something about central Africans that is just insane. If you look at Gabon's neighbours, there's a very lamentable trend to be observed:
Cameroon- Paul Biya - President since 1982 till date
Equatorial Guinea - Theodoro Nguema - President since 1979 till date
Central African Republic - Jean Bedel Bokassa ruled from 1966 to 1979...this one even coronotated himself as Emperor Bokassa I of Central Africa (Google it)
Burundi - Pierre Nkurunziza - President from 2005 until his death in 2020
DR Congo - Mobutu Sese Seko ruled 1965 -1997,deposed in a coup by Laurent Kabila 1997-2001, whose son Joseph then ruled from 2001 - 2019, after his father's assassination.
Congo Brazaville - Dennis Ngueso - President from 1979 till date.
These people are literally insane. Talking about insane don’t forget that Nguema himself took over from his uncle who had been ruling since 1968 and was a definite sociopath. You are indeed right that Central (and other parts of) Africa has problems. Macias Nguema and Idi-Amin were sociopaths. Bokassa was a cannibal. |

It's always advisable to visit these places with company anyway incase shit happens
If you want zero crime you're better off going to Bora Bora or places like Mauritius tbh The thing is human beings will always find a way. Many of those tiny Caribbean and Central American countries are as dangerous or even worse than Colombia and Mexico but because they are smaller they don't make waves. A40: Colombia is not as wild as it used to be. There's lots of chill places, spots like Cartagena, Cali and even Medellin is surprisingly safe. Bucarramanga too.
Here's the thing. Almost all cities have a heaven or a hell. Na you gats use your brain. No bling bling, Don't go to places flashing expensive shxt and looking like a lick. Even if you dey find heauxs. Dating apps dey no be say you go just dey dey tackle olosho for road
Cartagena is still relatively safe, Cali too.
The issue with DR is you're likelier to fall victim to olosho crook than Colombia (no mean say you gats loose guard either)
Compared to say a Brazil, Colombia IMO still dey better and it is definitely cheaper than DR. The flexing, the women etc
If you give me 5 racks. I would be like Thanos in Colombia the baddies I'd pull compared to what you would pull in DR. And I'm talking non ashewo as well with the small Spanish I sabi
So pound for pound all factors considered Colombia still beats DR as a destination Of course Colombia beats DR overall. I am not arguing that one na. It’s been a long time but I still have my Colombian connect (even worked with a husband n wife couple from there). You are very right about the package quality though. Almost all DR packaging na Pay as you come while Colombian is less so, with more variety and more flavouring. But in terms of safety Colombia is still deadlier. DR is still one of the safest in the Caribbean relatively speaking. That Caribbean na real jungle. Anybody travelling to places like Venezuela, El Salvador, Honduras needs to update his will first. Even Trinidad that I lived in deadly pass DR and Colombia. All man carry gun. Dem go shoot person for broad day light, no witnesses, no evidence. Police dey “among”. |

If you no move with brain. One chance
Colombia really boils down to the city gangan. Some worse than others Nah. DR dey casted to an extent because all of the Caribbean is dangerous but e no pass Colombia. We know that some cities are worse than others but there is no city that is not dangerous in Colombia and even DR sef. It boils down to your luck and who you come in contact with. Bogota, Baranquilla, Cartagena, Medellin, Cali. If you lose guard you can lose it all. Eye test and statistics gives it to Colombia. DR might be worse in terms of those daddy and mummy crimes that you will come back and be warning your guys about but in terms of the crimes that you won't be around to warn people about Colombia wins the tie. |

Watching the game live I knew he was going to run into problem, not just because he overstepped his boundaries but because of the climate we are in. Look at that video very well and you can see that every single player consented enthusiastically some even jumping into his arms for hugs and pecks (which was inappropriate no doubt) but we are not blind. Now that Hermoso was where he really fvcked up.
Overall it's just a stupid thing to do by the man cos thinking men avoid situations or play games where they can't win. Consensual knacks almost got the most powerful man in the world thrown out of office, we are talking about women here who can agree to something that moment and the next day paint a completely different story.
He played stupid games and won stupid prizes 100%. Any man who likes should go around and be kissing women on the lips without consent in this climate. You go explain tire........but no evidence say you do your best. |
