Melvyn11: Typhoid treatment now this guy is deaf. Can't he sue the hospital for damages?
https://www.nairaland.com/7667801/tinnitus-cost-removing-auditory-nerves Very tragic situation. It depends on how he was treated. I suspect he was treated with an aminoglycoside, likely Gentamicin. It is a relatively rare but well documented potential complication of that class of medications. If they administered the right dose and monitored properly it might be a bit difficult for him to sue successfully. If they never warned him of the potential complication though he might have a chance. |

patrickmuf: We saw Aston Villa battling relegation with Gerard as a coach and now the same Aston has Europe in their sight.
Our midfielders are better than those of Brighton but as a unit, they function better and that is down to coaching because there's no way you'll tell me Caicedo is better than Casemiro neither is Gross better than Erikson nor Mac Allister better than Bruno. Our midfield today should have controlled the game against Skipp and Hojberg. On paper our midfield should be better than Brighton's and i agree that we should be performing better than what we are seeing, but you also have to consider the actual characteristics of the players. Only Bruno out of our 3 midfielders can press in a manner approaching that of his Brighton counterpart. Both Case and Eriksen at this stage in their careers can never press the way Caicedo and the other Brighton midfielders do. None of our 3 midfielders can progress the ball through midfield with runs. Casemiro and Eriksen don't have the legs and Bruno does it mainly in the open field on the counter. He doesn't have the technique to consistently dribble through a set midfield. Fred and McTom that can do it with pace (not technique) are horrendous in so many other things. So what we have are midfielders that have no solution once the passing lanes are blocked unlike Caicedo, McAllister, Bernardo Silva, Partey, Gundogan etc. that can break a press or even settled midfield by running with the ball. We desperately need a proper no8 who can send Eriksen to the bench and enable us to offload McTom and/or Fred finally. For this specific game however i think it was more because our players didn't have the gas tank to step up to Spurs partially because of our 120 mins game a few days earlier. ETH still struggles with his substitutions though. |

Theflint1: If a dozen special forces is the most we're allowed to bring, where were our own dozen special forces in our evacuation contingent?
You can see the UK didn't think leave the evacuation of its citizens to civilians, they immediately deployed military special forces who while conducting themselves as civilians had the awareness of military men to provide a layer of safety for the operation. Those were not UK civilians. Those were only the diplomats and their families. The UK did not send soldiers to rescue all the UK nationals in Sudan. Military operations in a hostile environment are best done when rescuing small groups just like the UK did for the diplomats. When it gets to such large groups like our 5,500 citizens it is best done as a civilian operation which will reduce the chances of the operation turning violent. P.S a dozen special forces soldiers can’t protect 5,500 people against bloodthirsty janja.weeds if things turn awry. Chuck Norris is not walking through that door, and neither is Rambo. |

The Khartoum airport that was damaged made it worse.
If they allowed planes to land there, it would have been easier That airport sef is a potential trap. If they allow planes from several countries to go there to pick people up the chances of a plane being shot down out of the sky is huge, and nobody will accept responsibility. The fog of war leads to incredibly chaotic situations. |

Doc, one thing you should know is that Sudan is now a Jungle; Everybody trying to cheat and eat anybody
FG procured the service of 40 buses for $1.2 million. Apart from corruption, it is clear that those buses must have multiplied their fares by 50...Very expected for a country in crises
Now, only a stupid person would pay in full. If those drivers receive complete payment, they can decide not to deliver...Owo ti lor.
I am not there, but maybe they have stops where they have negotiated to receive payments as they go. That video shows they are no longer on Khartoum
That was why i said alert will come I hope we won't have another case of missing children like Chibok. When we were stranded in Calabar and being hunted by Unical cultists i know how we felt. These ones are in the middle of the desert thousands of km from home in the midst of bloodthirsty warlords. Even the parents will not be able to sleep. |

BlueRayDick: That’s true sha. I even have a believe that roads in Lagos gets bad easily due to the amount of toxic materials that gets released into the air which later forms cloud and the rain chops off the road gradually Tropical rainfall is enough to wreck roads. It starts from using substandard materials and defective designing and then continues with zero maintenance culture. In the areas of the developed world that suffer huge rainfall or snowfall it would seem to you that they are always constructing roads meanwhile most of it is just maintenance work before it starts showing obvious wear and tear. In Nigeria if the road does not have huge potholes that can swallow a sports car they will not think of doing any work on it. |
