Ah how can I forget Becky.

I just feel we should leave the left wing for cutting in while RW should concentrate on pulling out. I believe with more intentional training, we can get many good results from this.

About our box movement, it's very poor honestly and some of us have been mentioning this. I don't know if the players are supposed to be born with this knowledge or the coaching crew is supposed to show them what's expected of them when attacking and when defending. Unless the likes of Rashford, Martial, and Greenwood are not as good as we think they are, we should be able to see some understanding about their positions and play
This doesn't really work in modern football. You need your wing forwards close to the 18 yr box on either side so they can be an option for both width and be an extra body in the box. The more bodies you have in the box the more likely the chances of a ball falling to one of them.

The full backs should work on their crossing, especially first time crossing. Not just floated but mainly grounders into dangerous areas in the box.

All 3 have spent significant periods in their development playing out wide so it is difficult for them to consistently work on their box movement.
For players who don't have the natural movement of Ruud, Inzaghi, Gerd Muller you need to keep playing the position and work on it daily.

Also most extra skilled or extra fast strikers don't have naturally great box movement because they never had to depend on it.

I think there's a serious possibly that the club hasnt got the money like we're made to believe.
Definitely things are tight with the club finances because of COVID-19 HOWEVER the crux of the matter is that the billionaire Glazers WILL NEVER COUGH OUT THEIR OWN MONEY to help out the club during these tough times.

That is the origin of all this monitoring and observing talk. The club's finances are tight and the Glazers don't want to help out.

We have seen cases where billionaire owners of other clubs chip in with their own money from outside the club when things are tight or for special projects. Our own billionaires insist that the club sorts itself out financially and they always take their cut at the end of each year.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 9:30am On Sep 24, 2020
James hugging the touchline will only reduce the number of bodies we have in the box which is a major reason why we struggle to score goals.

Let us even assume he starts delivering excellent pull outs what are the chances of scoring from them when we have only 1 or 2 people in the box.

The full backs need to work on their crossing while the wing forwards need to work on their box movements, finishing, short passing ( especially in tight spaces).

When a full back crosses the ball there is a higher chance of success when the box is loaded with the CF, LWF, RWF, and hopefully at least 1 of the midfielders.

Nobody carry pull out come from heaven. Excuses plenty if everyone allows it in every profession. Nobody go achieve anything in this life if we decide to dwell on the excuses and why it won't work. He can make some crosses if he sets his heart to
Beckham carry pull out come from heaven o. Some people can never become proficient in it no matter how many times they practice while for others it just becomes naturally.

A good pull out however also requires excellent box movement from our strikers and i am yet to see that from them.

How about Elanga, can't he do a job out on the right? I know he operates mainly from he from left.
He can do a job but he is mainly left sided and I don’t he is as effective on the right, just like Martial who his game most resembles.

Soretire is still very young so hopefully he might be able switch from left to right without drop in quality.

The problem is that the use of inverted wingers means a budding RW should be left footed but left footers are scarce.

Afrodoc2...... Do we have any potential RW presently at the Academy?!
Nobody that is ready or even near ready.

It would be interesting to see how the new under-18s play this season and maybe one of the gazilion new attackers that we got might be tried on the right wing.

Soretire has shown some promise even though he is mainly a left winger but has been tried on the right recently. Problem is that he is only 16 and smallish so likely 2-3yrs away from even sniffing the first team.

Neres has been injured plus i suspect he will be too lightweight.

Coman would have been great but he is a doctor as well, which is actually the main reason he hasn’t developed into a main man.

Adama Traore might be the best bet even though he would be the most expensive of the 3.

Every coach has tactics. Even Moyes had cross and nod.

It is not a question of whether you have tactics or not but whether

1) Your tactics are quality

2) You are able to train your players to execute whatever tactic you have chosen.

Ole has a bit of no 1 but is very poor in number 2.

I see what he is trying to do but he doesn’t know how to get his players to execute properly.
In other words his spirit is willing but his flesh is exceedingly weak.

LOL
I think he takes a leaf from Marcelo Bielsa, high press with energy, full backs high up the pitch doesn't really play with natural wingers more like inverted wingers, No natural '10' more like Raumdeuter not the one on Nairaland grin grin
His Spurs teams played too narrow and just crowded the midfield. They didn't really have good patterns of play in my opinion and i think he rode the form of a few players like Kane, Alli, Eriksen, Dembele and when most of those guys lost form he couldn't do anything about it.

If you watch Klopp, Bielsa, even Pep and some other managers you will see patterns of play that will always lead to quality chance creation no matter the players at their disposal.

Many people are judging Poch based on the results he achieved at Spurs rather than analyzing the methods he used to achieve those results and deciding if it is reproducible elsewhere.

Once again

Sacking Mourinho was the right decision, hiring Ole was the wrong decision
Exactly. Which is what i am trying to tell people here. Sacking Ole is not the major job. Appointing the next manager is the main issue.

Or else we will appoint someone just cos he is better than Ole and we will be back here in 2 years. The next manager has to have more about him than just being better than Ole.

Pep Guardiola style is 4–3–3 formation

** High defensive line

** The role of right-back is crucial in order to gain numerical superiority, so they should own extreme stamina, speed, defensive and attacking abilities.

** Holding midfielders should have excellent passing abilities along with defensive and attacking competence.

** The attacking trio should consist of a right-footed left-winger, left-footed right-winger and a forward with excellent dribbling skills.

** All players participate in regaining the ball possession..The defence starts from the attack.

** centre back should have technically gifted in order to transmit the ball from defence to the midfield line. Short passing play is essential.

This is what I want for my team...
What about your man Poch?

No one suggested we should sign Dyche. I only mentioned coaches better than your MCM..

Wit this same united players at his disposal, he might do better than ole. Afterall he never led an epl team to the championship.
I was just trying to show you how ridiculous it would be to sign a manager just because he is better than Ole.

You were the one saying anybody better than Ole is okay by you, now you don't want Dyche after saying he is better than Ole.

Which one are we to take?

And Ole is not my MCM. I have been talking about Nagelsmann and Tuchel for over for over a year now. Erik Ten Hag is another one.

We need to get the right man for the job. Not just picking any random name better than Ole. We should plan for once before appointing a manager.

Just getting anyone better than Ole is not the right way as i just showed you. That is my point.

Rashford needs space to play, he can't have that space anymore, opponents close him down too fast than he likes. What should the coach do? Why not move around and play quick passes with others instead of trying to drimble? Why not create spaces with fast movements instead?
You do know that injuries have made footballers retire before?

The other time you people were blaming his poor form on being unserious. Someone who has been our hardest worker for years.

You see Rashford refusing to sprint and take on defenders in 1v1 situations and you think it is normal.

The same player that we used to criticize for running and sprinting at defenders too much now almost never does it even when the opportunity presents itself, and you think there is nothing wrong.

If you can remember back injuries was the beginning of the end for Rio as his acceleration dropped suddenly. I am really worried about Rashford because without his acceleration and speed he is just an average player.
