I didn't watch the match but from comments here you are right. This should have been attempted earlier in my opinion. The only thing worse than using a 3-5-2/3-4-3 when you are not used to it is facing a team that has mastered using the 3-5-2/3-4-3.

I didn't watch the match but from the comments here I believe JM used this match as a test run for the formation he will use against Chelsea.
We have the players to utilize that formation and avoid the walloping of earlier in the season or even get a narrow win.

Before the Chelsea match I suggested that we go 3-5-2 against them but people here said we were not used to that formation. If we had gone with that I don't think we would have done worse than we eventually did. We have the players for the formation and even other formations and I would like JM to try something different as the season DRAWS to an end.
