Modric/Kroos means Modric or Kroos NOT Modric and Kroos.

As if buying Modric/kroos would have been dead easy.
Was it easy to push Juve to sell Pogba for 100m?
Is it only easy buys that are made? I don't get your point.
Kante and Matuidi would have cost less than Pogba and our midfield would be much better.
Modric and Kante, Kroos and Kante, Matudi and Modric e.t.c

People should not twist it like Pogba was the only possible player on the market. The guys running this club are clueless and are concerned with making grand gestures and marquee signings rather than building a team to win titles.
Falcao, Zlatan, Pogba all these are PR moves .
We bought Pogba for 100m and Chelsea bought Kante for less than half that. We could have gotten Matuidi for about the same fee.

Mourinho has to take a long look at himself and ask himself if he really wants it.... He needs to start making tough decisions. Pogba or Zlatan have to to the bench, we dont need all this muscle.

What Mourinho is saying is that he cant avoid disgrace against the big teams if he does not park the bus.
Parking the bus against Liverpool was a disgrace and this rodding from Chelsea is also another disgrace.
I am hoping Mourinho has not lost, if not our season go totally disintegrate. Pogba is the one that has to step up. He should spend more time with his trainer and less with his barber......the guy no get focus but we thank God for his life say e be millionaire.

Very useless and lazy midfielder forming wetin I no no. Those calling for his purchase should tell us one thing he brings. The worst is that he looks unconcerned.
I said it then, when Madrid pulls out of a deal because of money you as a club have to check yourself.......before you wreck yourself.
People were saying things like " is it your money" , "no we must spit in Madrid's face", "we must tesojue for Juve" e.t.c

That money could have solved our midfield problems and we would have been playing better football and dominating games instead most of our play this season has been disjointed.

The major problem however is Mourinho's cowardly line ups and tactics and also his inability to correctly assess the qualities of his players.
I started losing faith in him when he parked the bus against Liverpool. That was a disgrace in its own way , today is just another one.

THE ONUS IS ON MOURINHO TO SALVAGE THIS SEASON BEFORE THINGS GET REALLY BAD
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 5:40pm On Oct 23, 2016
As long as Mourinho keeps making cowardly decisions in terms of his starting 11 and formation we should forget top 4 this season.

Blind as a defender will be caught out at the highest level whether it is LB or CB.......he is physically at a disadvantage.

Fellaini is not United quality at all, and even the darling Herrera is a squad player for a club aiming for the top.

If we are not dominating games and loading the box and delivering crosses Zlatan is a liability.

What has our local dab master been doing?
At least Rooney is not there to collect the blame now. Our highly paid and most expensive Barber2barber midfielder.......of what use has he been?

What about Zlatan the self acclaimed god of Manchester, another highly paid player. No be only Rooney dey collect big salary o.

Buy Kante/Matudi + Modric/Pjanic/Kroos, they said no we must spit abi it is dab in the face of Madrid to the tune of 100 milla.

3-4-3? grin Why should Jose pick a new formation for such away game? Going toe to toe doesn't call for such vast experiment.
I know it is a drastic change but if Jose is the tactically astute manager most people say he is then he should be able to implement different formations, if not in this match then in subsequent matches.
This formation is one of the possible ones in which we get to field possibly our best 11 while having a solid defence line, attacking width from our full backs and 2 to 3 attackers that can drift wide or load the box depending on the situation.

You mean Drew Brees or J.J? Or both?

I'm not expecting much from Clowney tbh. His injuries have robbed him of his explosiveness.

The same Pep's team we saw against Celtic and Tottenham abi another one
I meant JJ. Drew Brees has gotten his mega pay and his own days are over, he has his thousands of passing yards plus his Super Bowl ring and will be going to Canton on the first ballot.
Another guy that mortgaged the future of his team is Joe Flacco, holding out for mega pay after he got his pay.
There were question marks about Clowney coming out of college, particularly his health and his motivation/drive. Meanwhile these Cowboys are looking good this time and that is with Dez Bryant not really healthy.

Should have rested a bit last season. He played hurt for the most part and it rolled over sort of

The biggest issue with JJ I think is his lack of a marquee game in the playoffs, it must be said though that he has had some very terrible QB's to play with (Schaub, Hoyer and Osweiler abi na rottweiler) these guys put an incredible amount of pressure on the defense with their incompetence. I mean just look at what is also going on with Drew Brees and the Saints
His mega mega contract won't assist them in building a contender. If Jadeveon Clowney can step up their front 7 might be formidable enough to take them to d next level.

Ahh. E go hard oh. Plus JJ Watt isn't looking like winning a ring anytime soon. I mean with all the big stats at some point you have to get to the Superbowl. Its a rarity but we've seen teams get there with sub-par Quarterback play like JJ has to do right now (Broncos this year, Ravens in 2000 or was it 2001). So for now not likely
And if JJ Watt's back issues persist ( as they often do) his performance might become limited. To even be mentioned in the same sentence as the Minister of Defence he has to do what he has been doing for even longer and pass legends like Bruce Smith and Deacon Jones.

We went to Champions League where there are external refs:

We beat Chelsea home and away. And beat them in the final.

We bet Arsenal home and away.

We were very good in those years. They should keep their delusion to themselves. A team that had Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez was bound to cause all sort of problems to oppositions. In my eyes, I think City and Arsenal have been favoured most in terms of penalties and controversies, but I could be wrong.

Meanwhile I hear Sunderland are on their way to finishing the season with 9 points. If only Moyes had Rojo and Fellaini in his squad his problems would be over. Imagine Rojo in defence and Cattermole partnering Fellaini in midfield.....Ruudie's dream team LMAO

That's why I only spoke about the matches referereed by those 2 refs...both of whom have a spectacular record when reffing United games.

Riley gave Manyoo 12 penalties in 23 games, including 8 straight pens in 8 consecutive OTF appearances. That's better than 1 pen every two games guaranteed.

Howard Webb was giving 1 pen in every 3 Manyoo games he officiated....

So why are you arguing then? wink

Perhaps, but how many of them are General Managers at PGMOL? cheesy

Howard Webb and Mark Riley however...
I am not arguing with you just pointing out how ridiculous it is to point to 2 refs as the reasons for a clubs dominance or lack of same.
Chelsea has won the EPL 4 times, Arsenal 3 times, United has won with 10 points gap or more 4 times. That level of dominance was not due to Riley, and Manchester United's win % in matches officiated by Riley was not even stellar.
The stats do not support your claims. U have brought up penalties but the FACTS say your club profited from these penalties more than United. All you are doing is peddling old wives tales and innuendos here.
Since 2002 Chelsea has had more penalties awarded to them than United. .... difference was Chelseas squad was too poor to make the advantage to count.

Doctor I mentioned 2 particular refs and you're talking about Europe...

I'm not talking about all the refs in Europe and EPL...I'm talking about the same two refs that Wenger, Moyes and Jose have called out by name... grin

Abi your own managers get Apollo too? cheesy
Are all the matches officiated by just these 2 refs? What is the point of this? Is it to prove that some refs favour certain clubs? We know that. There are refs that favour Chelsea too and there are refs that United fans fear as they usually spell defeat for us.
But if your aim is to prove the league titles were undeserved you have Lago epon. These 2 refs were obviously not able to out hustle the Chelsea refs and City refs and Liverpool refs who awarded those clubs more penalties in the time frame.
It can even be argued that Chelsea and the others had a slicker and more sophisticated operation in that they were able to get more penalties awarded to their teams on the down low without arousing suspicion.
It can even be inferred that Chelsea and other clubs like it were able to spread the slush money around and bribe more referees to gain all those penalties thereby limiting the individual exposure to each ref.

Aunty Christy, I suspect that you're the one that doesn't seem to understand my post.

Otherwise you would be wondering why not just one, but two future Manyoo managers would openly question Mark Riley's allegiance...before they got initiated into the PDP cult.
You are wrong in this. I believe u know that as well but you are just trolling.
No serious fan who has been following EPL from the 90s will subscribe to your position. The eye test says you are wrong. United were very dominant in those years and won some seasons with double digit points difference. The stats also say that you are wrong as United have been awarded the least number of penalties of all the big clubs over the last 14yrs.
Conspiracy theorists would always have an excuse and a fall back explanation so of course every little advantage in Uniteds favour is overblown while those calls that go in favour of other clubs are swept under the carpet.
Ferguson that spent most of his adult life beating clubs like Real Madrid , Barcelona and Bayern Munich in finals with usually weaker teams needed Howard Webb and Mike Riley to boss the EPL when in most years he had the best squad?
U must be joking, just bow to the man grin

You are right - na Mourihno dey see the players for training everyday & he should be in the best position to determine the best tactics for the team...

I only made the suggestion because I remember that he employed similar tactics during his successful stint at Porto - Costinha or Pedro Mendes at the base, Maniche/Alenichev at LCM & RCM respectively....with Deco on the tip (i can't remember Benni Mcarthy's partner upfront).

He also employed similar tactics at Chelsea (albeit occasionally) during his 1st tenure at Chelsea - Makelele at the base, Essien/Ballack at the wide edges and Lampard at the Tip.
It was Mcarthy and Derlei primarily but when he wanted pace up front he went with Carlos Alberto and if he wanted aerial prowess he would bring on Edgaras Jankauskas like at Old Trafford when Porto knocked us out.

Your formation is not bad though it requires the full backs to do a lot and we would depend on their creativity going forward, also i would start Rashford ahead of Martial as a striker. By now it should be apparent that Rashford has superior movement and positioning, Martial is better with dribbling, close control e..t.c

All is not lost this season though. We played well today, we just have to stop dropping silly points.
Pogba played okay today, he is never going to be worth that money i don recalibrate my expectations tey tey.
We didnt win this match because of profligacy in front of goal from Zlatan mainly and then Pogba AND because of De Gea's gaffe.

We need to be more decisive in front of goal and top 4 is assured, after that we can mount a challenge for the title.
