If Mata is fit, i'd rather he starts on the RW & Miki on the left..
That is an option but with slow Zlatan at the 9 we need some pace in that attack and i don't think Miki alone can offer it, we know Mata won't

I am quite impressed with Rashford's performances for the club thus far & I think we have a potential world class player on our ranks.

However, I am not quite sure he should be starting too many games for us just yet....

For me, I believe his qualities would not be fully Optimized on the flanks - shunting him out wide might even hinder his development as a CF (we don't want another Danny Welbeck on our hands)

I think he should be coming off the bench either to....

1.partner Ibra Upfront (whenever the team is in search of goals),

2. or replace the Swede when we are coasting to victory.
You have a point but you have to remember that with Martial injured Rashford is our best bet on the left flank. The rest are just not consistent enough and we desperately need these 3 points let's be honest with ourselves. After today we can consider Rashford's future.

Also it is not like he would be shunted to the flanks for ever but for today with Martial injured, Mikki struggling for fitness and Lingard struggling for form he might have to do a job for us on the flank for today.

His finishing will always be better than Welbeck's even if he plays in goal for a season, he is a natural finisher. Also remember that playing on the flanks at Monaco and Juve did not stop Thierry Henry from developing into one of the top finishers of the modern game.

Cool... With Luke Shaw at LB tho cool
He had a groin strain last week but somehow they are saying he is fit this week....it might be risky for him in terms of him aggravating the injury and missing action for a long time. If he is truly fit of course Shaw comes in and Blind drops to the bench.

Today's match at Old Trafford will go a long way in assessing the mental strength of the team and their unity behind Mourinho. After the tribulations of the last couple of weeks nothing but a good performance and a win is good enough, and it starts by choosing the right players, using the right formation and employing the right tactics.
I would go

------------------------------De Gea-------------------------
--------Valencia-----Smalling-------Bailly------Blind-----------

-----------------------------Carrick---------------------------
----------------Herrera---------------Pogba-------------------

-------Mkhitaryan------------Zlatan--------------Rashford---------

I have always known Elamps had the ability to dehumanize his opponents. All those who are quick to insult him and call him names should take note, it is his peaceful nature rather than his lack of ammunition that makes keeps him from retaliating.

If you guys want to argue with Diademk07 at least argue with facts and be informed first.

One of these guys said Harrop was 2 years older than Perreira
Another one said LVG picked Rashford ahead of Fletcher for that fateful Rashford debut?
How could Fletcher have trained with United before the match when he was on loan?

Of all our players Fellaini has been the one that has played to his highest potential, a shame this highest potential is not much to start with.
Mourinho has to bring Carrick into the team to control the midfield from deep, move Pogba to this LCM role and play someone else Fellaini/Herrera/Schneiderlin at RCM and drop Rooney to the bench. I believe this gives our midfield the best balance
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 1:39pm On Sep 19, 2016
Lana1:
Considering our manager was Mourinho and considering he spent 89m on one player and got all the tranfers he wanted, was it too much to hope for 13 points from our first 5 games??
I am not talking about this season but about the last 3 seasons. Even during the darkest days of Moyes and LVG this thread was still littered with such unrealistic predictions. Predictions that went against our performances at those times.
Its not all doom and gloom as i expect Mourinho to buckle up and reshape the team cos his managerial career is at risk here. My pre season expectations were top 4 and maybe 2nd and it is still within reach.

And i repeat WASTING all that money on a showboating haircut model when we could have improved our midfield with real quality playmakers and real box 2 box midfielders is one of our major problems this season.

Carrick is getting old, Schweini is old already, Fellaini and Herrera in my opinion are too limited for a club aiming for titles to rely on, Schneiderlin has been a disappointment. Pogba has played in ready made midfields all his life were there are playmakers and true hard working box 2 box midfielders or DMs who can make up for his lack of work rate and lack of tactical discipline. He would struggle to thrive in our present set up.

Also throughout the pursuit of Pogba so Mourinho for him own mind tink say Pogba and Fellaini in a 2 man midfield would work in this EPL with hungry teams? He could not think of a better plan than to play 4 slow poisons in Fellaini, Pogba, Rooney and Zlatan through the middle. D guy must be deluded.

Long and short of the story Moaninghoe pattern don cast. Thank God my boy Schweinsteiger is not part of this shipwreck
Lmao. See how them finesse am. The hype after 3 games was unbelievable
That has been the pattern on this thread for a few years now.
You hear things like "We are facing just Stoke, Watford, Crystal Palace and Everton so we should get at least 10 points from these matches".
Then we go and lose 2 or 3 of these so called easy matches.
Same thing every season. Even offline some of my United friends were so confident before the City match I thought I must have been missing something.
Only the grace of Jehovah Jireh and the unreliability of Claudio Bravo can save the EPL from falling to City this season. City are playing fluid attacking and effective football and they have not really unleashed Gundogan (who I rate highly), Sane would improve and ...erm Gabriel Jesus is coming in January.

The money spent on buying Pogba is not the reason for Martial uselessness or Miki shocking display against City. Jose is to blame. He can't get his team to string 10 passes together and get into channels. That's the problem not whatever amount Pogba was bought
Pogba was bought for that fee as our only central midfield addition when it has been argued that we needed 2 world class signings in that department. Considering the fact that we got Pogba for Matuidi+Kroos or Kante+Modric or even Veratti+Pjanic money AND our midfield is still our weak point THEN it can be said that POGBA and his FEE are problems.
We sign a MIDFIELDER for a WORLD CLASS FEE and our midfield has been our weakest department and he has been arguably our worst first teamer......and you say that is not a problem?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 6:05pm On Sep 18, 2016
Those guys that were in support of the Pogba world record signing can now see what others felt. That money spent on Pogba could have solved all our midfield problems if spent with football and not hype in mind. Now the midfield problem is still as huge as before we spent 90m pounds.
What is the point of spending all that money to spit in the face of Madrid if it means clubs like Watford and Feyenoord would in turn spit in our face?

The deed has been done though so the manager has to find a team that best showcases the abilities of the 90m pound white elephant in the room....Pogba
I would suggest a 4-3-3 with Carrick as holding. something like this

-----------------------DE GEA-------------------------
---VALENCIA------BAILLY-----BLIND-------SHAW-------

--------------------CARRICK-----------------------

----------FELLAINI---------POGBA---------------------

--RASHFORD------ZLATAN---------------MARTIAL-------
