kcnwaigbo: APC did very badly considering the forces they applied most of the rigging was so poor that it will be easily overturned in Court.video evidences abound, most of the APC winners will not be lasting Long on that seat APC is not totally non-existent in Rivers state as your propaganda including Wike's is trying to underscore and imprint into people's mind. APC has sizable followership in Ogoni land and you'll see APC victory in these places sail through judicial scrutiny. Forget the cry-wolf propaganda of the PDP, they equally deplored rigging machinery and don't be surprised if some PDP victories especially in Rivers East is overturned. |

APC did not do so badly. There must be elements of opposition in each state. In both PDP and APC strongholds. Let's put the days of rubber-stamped legislature behind us. |

Just look at how he has inflicted the masses with pains. Remove the spec in your eyes first. We voted Yaradua and we didn't and will never support this eldullardinho. We have no issues with the fulani but the bigot on seat. I pray for younger and visionary leader to contest but if we are left with Atiku, a liberal person against the bigot, I assume you know where our votes would go irrespective of what other zones think Typical wailing zombie, always commenting with their emotions running haywire. Your wailings and abuses to the PMB is now stale. It didn't carry any effect in the last election, neither will it have any in elections to come. So your foaming in the mouth with regular abuses is just an entertainment to some of us. Oga stop talking with both sides of the mouth. We know your types, we know the abuses you mete out on a regular bases to Hausa/Fulani, you are only ready to go with Atiku as he seems to beam a ray of hope to Aso villa. Brutai was also appointed as a Major General and Promoted too. I just commented based on the pic posted. His promotion was a compliment of his appointment, Same with Burutai but Olonisakin got a double promotion. They have been promoted now more than a year. Commenting on the rank of an officer based on photo may not be too accurate as the picture may not be recent. |

azimibraun: Bring the White House press secretary to Nigeria and he will be messed up. A country where people cherish rumor so much people carry their phones in hand with Internet but still ask people with kpalasa phone for what goes on in government and around town. Again which ministry of info, or presidential spokesman can succeed in a country where bloggers create news instead of reporting the news? All for the traffic money. Government elsewhere gives out info, in Nigeria government is always correcting and counter balancing information becouse of rumour mongers an fake bloggers and docile demography. Thank you very much for this piece. That is just the unfortunate situation we find ourselves in this country. As a matter of emergency, the activities of these informal media needs to be regulated before they cause a big problem for the country. |

It's indeed a recipe for disaster. Our governors are not yet matured enough for the control of the police. They have succeeded in pocketing the State Houses of Assembly and Local government structure, and if you now give them police, they will turn themselves into tin Gods.
They will harass opposition figures endlessly, they will harass non-indigenes, there would be regular altercation with the Federal Police among others.
Well, we can experiment this by first ceding the control of the Civil Defence to the State governments to see how it goes before the main police force. |

This country is filled with deceivers. Must you distort information just to make your post attractive?
You counted festive periods that fell on weekend, you still now counted the weekdays that was given as public holiday for their celebration.
I also noticed children's day and Islamic new year day. Were these days also declared as public holiday by the Nigerian govt??
If I take my time to do proper scrutiny, i'm sure to discover further inconsistencies. These ones are noticed at first glance.
Oga remove the false information and let us know the actual days. |

illuminated93: When 2019 comes buhari would be surprised @ politicians winning him in his game. If there's anything PDP learnt from the Rivers state elections, its this, when violence is met with violence, then everyone stands an equal chance of winning. In the 2019 elections, thugs, cultist, armed guys will make plenty money from politicians. To that police officer that got beheaded, cult guys carried that out. The truth is b4 the elections wike held meetings with all cult groups on counter acting the federal might. They possibly mapped out some rogue senior police officers that needed to give way. The act of beheading was a message to the federal powers, and come 2019, force men that choose to be a tool for the federal govt will go down same path. If that officer was beheaded,it was because he went rogue,he decided to do the bidding of APC. He should burn in hell. The Rivers state election was a testing ground on seeing the viability of violence inorder to prevent what happened in Edo state. The cult boys may have shown their hands too early. The odds favour the security operatives to cut them to size before 2019. |

Atiku is just sweet mouthing just to gain the support of the SE and SS. He is not a smart politician. He needs the support of the North than the south to clinch the presidency with the current political outlook of the country. If he decamps to the PDP, he definitely will gain upper hand in the SS/SE. He needs a very strong support in the North to counterbalance this and sail to Aso Rock. Unfortunately, his comments which are aimed at selling him to the SS/SE will further alienate him from the North. And one funny and interesting thing is that among the Southern people, the SE seems to have already found a darling in him. And they were the ones who were critical of fulani dominance and always resorting to verbal attacks on anything hausa/fulani. Even when others are still studying the man with a view to properly profiling him, they have already swallowed his lines hook, line and sinker. |

ogtavia: that man is due for retirement abii,he shouldn't go on retirement again...
Nigerians are the least objective people around..always chasing shadows and non-essential...the question should be,how does the next man fit into the office and keep up the work against Boko Haram, how does he manage the three arms of service, how does he ensure the defence of our Nation's territories nd borders, how does he improve the welfare of officers and men of the Nigerian Military, how does he improve the general perception of our military, how does he ensure that our military gets better in its policies and practices
...the questions are endless
...some people like whipping up unnecessary conspiracy theories and flat sentiments
...the man is due for retirement, he must retire... Sincerely with the thinking of a lot of people in this country domiciled on frivolities, I often wonder if Nigeria can ever achieve any greatness. The greater population of our people are just so dumb. So sorry to say. They lack the ability for unbiased and objective criticism. And the cords of partisanship here in Nigeria is far greater than the cords of nationhood. That is the major problem. There is lots of love for country in civilised countries than for partisan course. A Nigerian does not care, he can steal billions and not give a damn about other people in the country. He can steal billions and take it to another country to develop their economy. |

progress69: A Major General have not spent time in the Army?. Ok na. Kontinu He is a full General. One of the few to ever attain that position. How can you say he is a Major General when his subordinate, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Buratai is a Lieutenant General? He was promoted to a full General by President Buhari on his appointment as Chief of Defence Staff. You are right, the man has completed his mandatory 35 yrs in service but he sure does have age on his side. I heard he was the youngest officer of his course. I won't be surprised if President Buhari extends his retirement. |
