"Please Let there be Three Justices for each of the Seven Zones of The Federation" !!!
The Seven Zones are:- NW, NE, CSW, CSE SW, SE & SS. By Orisa37 The supreme court is not empty. It presently has 15 judges and require just 6 more. Some geopolitical zones are already fully represented in the current supreme court. The 6 more positions will be disributed in such a way that the full complement of the Supreme court, 21 Justices, will be equally distributed across the geopolitical zones. |

The US is already waging an economic war against Iran and is frustrated its not working out. Iran is not grounded at all. It has lots of medium scale submarines which will can wreck havoc on US ships in the region. Let no one quote me unnecessarily because u can't tell me if u are in Ambode's shoe, u will be so comfortable with being a good 'party man' just to relinquish ur position when u know u have performed well to deserve second term. Or, what do I know? Are u living in Lagos? Ambode does not deserve a 2nd term. He left Lagos worse than he met it. Governance is not just about capital projects. Virtually all roads in Lagos are a mess. Waste management is still embellished in confusion. So much lethargy among civil servants before he left. |

Good judgment. INEC was acting ultra vires by withholding his certificate after declaring him winner.
If indeed they believe he made them declare him under duress, they should have gone to a competent court to validate and legalise their action instead of taking the law into their own hands. |

Politics › Re: PDP Congratulates New National Assembly Leadership by agabusta: 7:11am On Jun 12, 2019 |
truthfulparrot: Very soon PMB will realise that he has committed a great blunder by allowing Oshimole and Tinubu to tricked him into supporting Lawan and Gbaja as Senate president and speaker of the house of representative respectively.
It would have been better for him to stay neutral and allow the National Assembly members elects it's own leaders.
Is it not rather curious that most PDP reps and senators also supported this arrangement? The 9th assembly is going to present unprecedented dramas that will make Nigerians realized that Saraki was a stabilizing factor in the 8th Assembly.
The beauty of this is that this ninth assembly will be a hard nut to crack by the presidency. Those who thinks that Lawal and Gbaja will be PMB's puppets are politically naived.
There is no doubt about it that Tinubu is a Master political strategist. He can now effectively checkmark the cabal through the present configuration of the National assembly. Nobody wants a NASS that is a puppet to the President. Buhari himself as a person who follows protocol does not want that. What majority of APC sympathisers simply want, is for the APC party to have a say in those that emerges as leaders of the National Assembly being the party with majority legislators. This is actually not a big deal, and that is the way it happens all over the world. It is the PDP sympathisers that made it a big deal because of the acute bitterness they have against APC party leadership. Saraki's underhand tactic in getting the senate seat in 2015, ably supported by the PDP is also one of the reasons why so much attention is on this mini election. Before now, only few people pay attention to NASS leadership elections. I personally feel the senate president and speaker positions should be scrapped. A chairman of plenary should be designated as an alternative, and the chairman should be rotated from time to time between the majority and minority leaders. The Senate President and Speaker of the House positions somehow belittles the weight and import of the Senate and House as a whole. It sort of makes the Senate/House have a one man face, which does not accord much weight as a body of the people's representative. |
Politics › Re: PDP Congratulates New National Assembly Leadership by agabusta: 6:54am On Jun 12, 2019 |
Rednaxelot: My mind keeps telling me that before the end of this 9th assembly, PDP will eventually become the major party and having the leaders of the houses Not going to happen. There is no magic that can make PDP to have 2/3rd senators to effect a leadership change at the senate. At the House of Rep, APC already has 2/3rd majority. Even the APC with majority since 2015 was unable to oust Saraki and Dogara. |
Politics › Re: It’s Bad For Anyone To Brand June 12 Struggle Yoruba Project – Soyinka by agabusta: 4:59am On Jun 12, 2019 |
It is envy sir. Envy has made some people forget history to the extent they are detesting all the accolades being given to June 12. Despite that the victory of MKO cuts across all ethnic and religious divide.
Its a wonder sir.
Everybody knows the struggles of June 12 culminated into the handover of power back to civilian authorities in 1999.
But the military, either out of pure mischief decided to use May 29, instead of just waiting few more days for June 12. Or maybe they didnt want to upset Abacha and IBB boys that were still many in the military as at then.
Abiola spent his financial and time resources on the elections. The Nigerian populace did same, but some few people ganged up and decided not to respect the wish of majority of the Nigerian people.
It is fair to recognize the struggles of June 12 and recognize it as a day of democracy.
Kudos to the Buhari administration. |
