patches689: 0 Acts of piracy where we patrol

No liar ! Your own country confesses that South Africa navy valour frigates ahave been chasing pirates where you patrol but NEVER catches up with them, they always out-run your foolish blue water navy, you are now demoted to brown water navy by your performance records of 100% failure in your own SADC joint defense pact region shocked shocked

Read your own South African military report below and send your over-bloated navy to Nigerian for training urgently :

"South Africa’s Navy is fighting pirates!

Yes. Believe it or not, the SA Navy and Special Forces have been deployed to the Mozambican Channel for several years now, in a deliberate operation aimed at capturing or deterring pirate attacks originating from Somali coast. Although they have not yet caught a single pirate (instances of pirate activity are low), there have been several occasions where the Navy has chased or inspected suspicious vessels."

Nigerian army is in every state of Nigeria, and in every local government. We have 110% force projection in our country and 100% force projection across the whole of West Africa up to Liberia on land and up to South Africa's SADC region by sea.

Bwahaha, not in a hurry, Boko is inside our territory, he is surrounded, he is in a trap.

Let's see how 5,000 Bokos will survive against 150,000 Nigerian soldiers in the next 30 days.

Boko cannot get resupply, he is trapped by changing tactics from guerrilla war to conventional war, same mistake of Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka, that led to their total defeat.

Wow ! What a good news to see Boko Holding territory exactly at the time Nigerian army was planning the Sri Lanka model of final offensive.

Thiza: Boko Haram Militants Relocating From Sambisa To Captured Territories In Northeastern Nigeria

Eyewitnesses in the villages near Sambisa forest told SaharaReporters that the insurgents had been moving their families and possibly many of their abductees to safer grounds in towns captured in recent weeks.

llagers living near Sambisa forest in Borno State have reported seeing a large number of Boko Haram militants leaving the wooded redoubt yesterday morning and moving towards southern Borno.

A security source, who spoke to SaharaReporters, confirmed the account of the villagers. He said Nigeria’s intelligence agents were aware that members of the deadly sect, who had been holed up in a thick forest the size of Western Virginia in the United States, seemed to be relocating to the large swath of territory they have captured in recent daring attacks.

Boko Haram is walking into a trap by changing tactics from guerrilla warfare to conventional warfare, they are trapping themselves inside towns saying they hold territory and establish Islamic Caliphate.

Those towns are now surrounded by Nigerian army and Boko is being b.ombed by NAF in a trap they created for themselves.

Many of those Bokos you saw in Gwoza video you were happy about, are now dead...

"The Nigerian military yesterday, August 28, carried out airstrikes against the dreaded Boko Haram sect’s positions in Limankara and Gwoza in Borno State.

This is as hundreds of troops also mobilised to the frontline in Gulak, Adamawa State against the insurgents.

According to Daily Trust report, a resident of Gwoza, Mamman Madobi, said three military planes were sighted hovering and after a few minutes, they heard sounds of 15 explosions in the direction of Madagali, Limankara and Gwoza.

Other residents added that several armoured vehicles were deployed in Gulak between Wednesday and yesterday while military trucks conveyed soldiers to the town."

" Nigeria Resumes Rocket Testing

AFTER an extended hiatus, Nigeria has resumed its controversial testing of rockets at the Centre for Space Transport and Propulsion (CSTP)—an operational arm of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA).
Dr. Charles Attah Osheku, the new CSTP director and chief executive officer, confirmed Friday, in a late night phone interview, that a series of test firings of experimental rockets were conducted last March and also in April.

The launches, he said, are ongoing: “We are conducting the tests primarily for scientific purposes, but also as training exercises for our technical personal and a challenge to our scientists and engineers, for whom the experience is vitally important”.

A NASRDA scientific officer, who requested anonymity, reported that CSTP has recently launched several rockets “with varying degrees of success”. Some of these, he said, had reached altitudes of three kilometers, possibly higher.

The size and configuration of the crafts, or whether there is foreign involvement, was not specified. The Guardian had, on Sunday, November 16, 2008, reported that CSTP had been secretly launching indigenously constructed experimental rockets.

During The Guardian’s visit to Epe, in 2008, Oluremi A. Fashade, the then Coordinator of the Centre, brought out one of the rockets and released a video of a successful test. The solid fuel missile was about three metres long and constructed entirely from locally sourced materials.

In his interview, Fashade — who now heads Research and Development at the African Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology Education, Il-Ife — said NASRDA would eventually “graduate to bigger and more complex craft.”

Osheku did not reveal the exact dimensions of the rockets his Centre is currently testing. But an earlier interview, with another source, left the impression that these missiles are larger than the ones Fashade had been experimenting with.

Another uncertainty is the site of the launches. At Epe, the testing range was adjacent to the campus of Lagos State University — and may still be.

But when Fashade was Coordinator, he told The Guardian that NASRDA would construct a new launch facility, on a remote island, off Nigeria’s coast.

No one is willing to discuss this now. When the subject was broached to Dr. S.O. Mohammed, the director general at NASRDA, his reaction was: “We don’t want to talk about ‘launch sites’. The Federal Government will decide if, and when, that issue is to be addressed.”

Internationally, rocketry is a sensitive subject, because it encompasses “dual use technology”—instruments that can be used, either for peaceful or military purposes. “Nigeria must, therefore, tread softly,” Mohammed allowed, ” to avoid sending the wrong signals about our intentions, which are entirely peaceful”.

The Space Roadmap mandates NASRDA to develop a full-scale launch vehicle by 2025. But the Agency also has research, training and instructional programmes that are contingent upon rocket development.

This includes a miniature satellite programme, Mohammed noted, whose centrepiece is CanSat— a satellite the size of a soft drink can. It is being developed, with Japanese collaborators, for atmospheric and space weather research"

Embarrased GOC Orders Arrest Of Army Deserters

The General Officer commanding the 3rd Army Division in Jos, Major General JS Zaruwa was shocked to find so many soldiers roaming the streets of Michika in Adamawa State when he made a private visit to his home in the area.

The soldiers deserted Biita after Boko Haram militants returned to avenge a rout of their men a week ago.

Upon seeing the soldiers hanging out mostly around a brothel known as “BOLINGO” with their rifles slung around their shoulders, the army General invited Lt. Colonel BMG Martins, the commanding Officer of the Special Operations Battalion who also doubles as their commanding officer, to call them to order, or arrest them enmasse our source said.

Martins then ordered several unit commanders, to rein in the boys but an apparently unperturbed rank and file refused to take his orders.

SaharaReporters was told by an army team engaging in intelligence in the area that the issue of discipline, specifically the refusal of soldiers to listen to their superiors and unwarranted abandonment of fighting positions, have become a big concern to the authorities in Abuja.

The soldiers who were sacked from army posts in Biita and Izge-Damboa in Borno state by Boko Haram fighters have remained in Michika, refusing the order by the GOC to return to their posts.

Some of the soldiers said they will not return to the frontlines unless they are provided with adequate equipment to confidently confront Boko Haram.

According to the soldiers, the army has only one functioning armored tank in the entire area, the armored tank in deployed to guard Vimtin in Mubi local government of Adamawa State. Vimtin is the hometown of Air Vice Marshal Alex Badeh, Nigeria’s Chief of Defense Staff.

Your story said some few Nigerian soldiers went to fvck a.sha.wo when there was problem around town, they are men now, they went for 'extra-curricular activities' with some fun loving girls in a brothel, is that your personal problem?

Then the other few men who said they don't want to fight, they can go home, we have 30,000 soldiers in NE war zone ready to die for Nigeria.

South African army could not stand the sight of 15 body bags and whole 50,000 soldiers refused to return to face Seleka

patches689: Maverick can be fitted on Helo's... but its ancient now. Its being replaced by Brimstone and AGM-169 while the AGM-114 is more commonly used by attack helos. The Maverick can only get the range it has listed when deployed from fighter aircraft - most helo's cant target more than 15km away from them.

The bread and butter of NATO ASM-ATGM's is the AGM-114.

And since the AGM-114 is the Makopas true competitor, remember that the Makopa has more penetration, and longer range, and has the same targeting system. Hence, it is better.

And its so vastly superior to the German PARS 3 LR that it is ridiculous.

And since it can be fitted with milimeter band radar, yes, it is a true-blue ASM, just with a shorter range (of 10km) when compared to the Maverick

And your last point is semantics, we didnt make the helicopter... but we made it the best version it can be.
Tyring to counter everything I say on this forum will only make you look like a fool, and give a public impression that South Africans are d.ullards

I said maverick missile is the best and you are arguing with me over missiles made where I live. Fool.

Maverick has many new versions.

Maverick from day one is built as multirole ASM including anti-armour and anti-ship role.

Hellfire does not do anti-ship combat.

Maverick is carried by 25 types of aircraft including many Jet fighters.

Hellfire is carried by fewer aircraft and NO jet fighter.

Always attacking my post because you want to prove you know more than I do, will only make you a bigger fool than people expect.

In September 2008, the nineteenth report of the Independent Monitoring Commission stated that the IRA was "committed to the political path" and no longer represented "a threat to peace or to democratic politics", and that the IRA's Army Council was "no longer operational or functional".[31][32] The organisation remains classified as a proscribed terrorist group in the UK and as an illegal organisation in the Republic of Ireland.[12][33] Two small groups split from the IRA, the Continuity IRA in 1986, and the Real IRA in 1997.
