Msauza: Badger will not be assembled in SA, it will be made in SA. nothing will be shipped from Finland to SA other than a piece of paper.
Bagder IFV is being assembled in South Africa with parts shipped from Finland. South Africa does NOT even produce any engines and chassis grin

"South African defence company Denel Land Systems (DLS), part of the State-owned Denel group, plans to use its existing facilities to assemble the vehicle element of the South African Army’s future Badger infantry fighting vehicle (IFV)."

patches689: You killed 1500 and yet they capture a new town and threaten the state capital?

Lol sure thing buddy
Algeria fought Islamists for 11 years before they got 95% victory, you CANNOT wipe out a religion/faith 100% with a gun.

Israeli army and air force used extraordinary experience, skill, weapons, aircraft, etc in very large numbers to invade Gaza and k.illed over 1,000 people, they shelled the place to blazes, yet Israeli and and air force the best in the world by track record, had to withdraw from Gaza saying mission accomplished, but few days later, the same Hamas they say they destroyed, f.ired 30 rockets in 30 minutes into Israel !!!

Back to square one......

You don't know what Islamic terrorism means, it is a faith in peoples hearts that they are brainwashed to fight and die for to enter heaven !

patches689: I see you left out the parts about escape and evasion and such

As usual you shamelessly lie

And the fact remains - we train the Americans (and Dutch)

You get trained by the Americans
South African special forces travel to America for training. Posted that here before.

Also, before Congo UN deployment, South African army went for bush warfare training in Brazil under the Brazilian army that has ZERO war experience, that means the army that has NO experience even knows more than your SANDF m.o.r.ons grin

No single weapon was involved in that Boy Scouts camping training, not even a bow and arrow grin

patches689: Nope the battle started on the outskirts of the city

The last part of the battle took place on the base perimeter - the majority of the fighting was around Bangui

And the base itself is inside Bangui itself - which means we were fighting amongst civilians

Nope, Seleka was not hiding inside civilian's house, they came out boldly on the streets to fight South Africa, it was a purely armed men's battle and you both separated yourselves from the people, that's why there was almost ZERO report of any civilian casualties
in the 13 hour combat which SANDF lost and raised white flag, begged for safe passage to the airport, ran under the armpit of French soldiers to hide and take the next available flight to Pretoria , SELEKA THEN TOOK OVER ALL C.A.R.Republic.

Winner of the battle of Bangui is very clear.....quitters don't win grin

patches689: It's so blatantly a shilka it's not even worth arguing over

If it's not a shilka what is it?
It's so off the mark of a Shilka, too many wrong things, the easiest flaw is the tall gangling height and open space between the turret and the hull.

That thing is a hybrid armoured vehicle of mixed parts, just looks like a shilka.

Such vehicles abound in Sudan where they improvise a lot, they even use Antonov transport configured to be a bomber aircraft.

It does not even show you the ZSU-23-4 four separate extended clearly distinctly visible four guns !

Finally, NO nigeria army shilka looks like that tall gangling thing that stands like a tree grin

Real shilkas are short height and squat, and compressed together such that there is no space between the head and body.

NO nigerian shilka looks like that, go try find Boko Haram's source of the fake shilka on SIPRI database. LOL !

One more before I go, you said the turret turned, see, even if you turn the head of a real shilka, one side of the dead protruded to be 'bigger' than the body, but the other side of the head instantly becomes very very much visible smaller than the body....and the result is that all four guns become very much visible you can count them one by one !

Dude, Nigerian military is secretive and they don't show all their things like South Africa.

You guys say Nigeria has no AGL and MGL, we have proved it and now all you guys have shut up your big basket mouths for ever grin

Photos do not prove everything in this world, see how your air refueling Gripen photos have misled people.

Nigerian air force has 4th Generation jet fighters but have not shown their photos or released information to public, we just have to wait...

"AS the armed forces get set for final onslaught against the Boko Haram terrorists, the latest fighter jets in the world would start arriving the country this week.

Informed top military sources disclosed to the Nigerian Tribune at the weekend that the fighter jets, up to a dozen in number, were purchased directly by the Nigerian Air Force.

The source revealed that the jets are capable of bombing in the night, adding that this would enhance the operations of the soldiers."

Thiza: @AUGUSTUS CHECK THE Boeing refulling tanker, it shows the South African Airforce insignia ....the problem about you is that you think you possess an expert opinion on South Africa.....SOUTH AFRICA IS NOT A RAG TAG ARMY LIKE NIGERIA
[size=14pt]Hey dude, I said today 2014 Both South Africa and Nigeria have NO air refueling tankers.

All South African air refueling tankers were RETIRED out of service 7 years ago in 2007 before your SANDF-SAAF Gripen jet arrived in 2008.

So, no current South African aircraft has ever being air refueled before, so SAAF too is a rag-tag air force tongue tongue

Are you drunk THIZA de fotografa ? That air refueling photo is Sweden's air force Gripen jet NOT South African air force Gripen !

Nigerian MBB 339 Jets too have air refueling hardware but no tanker.

Thiza: NIGERIA DOES NOT HAVE AIR TO AIR FUELLING CAPABILITY AND NIGHT FIGHTING CAPABILITIES
Today 2014 South Africa has NO air refueling capability, you lost it with the retired Cheetah jets. All Gripen and Hawk jets of SAAF have NO air refilling tanker for them.

Nigeria has upgraded 4th Generation MBB 339 combat jet fighters with air refueling capabilities but we don't have air tankers too.

NAF has night fighting capabilities with our new Mi-35M and MBB 339 jets, and we Nigerians have many night capable dedicated and modern ISTAR aircraft that South Africa does not have a single one.

THIZA, for the 4 photos you posted, let me just waste this few minutes for you because I won't go back to old information that everybody knows on this thread.

Nigeria has Bofors FH-77B best NATO artilley, Mi-35M best Russian helicopter gunship, Big Foot MRAP one of the best in the world, BTR-3U IFV one of the best in Europe....but the Badger IFV you posted for South Africa is not yet in service with your army today, so Nigeria has a better IFV than South Africa today 2014.

Leave this argument THIZA, the only thing SANDF has but we don't, are Submarines.

Oh ! You SA mofos no longer talk about Damboa and Bama? Why change topic to Maiduguri where Boko Haram has not even attacked? Are you now Shekau's prophet and oracle?

Talk about the latest battle of Bama where Nigerian military killed 1,500 Boko fighters in 5 days, or shame will not allow you to discuss it again? All South Africans enjoyed Bama town topic before now.....but today your front teeth have all fallen out grin

Show me when last South African military fought a 5 day battle with 3,000 enemies that were mixed with innocent civilians inside peoples houses using women and children as human shields.

That is one great war experience South African army and air force does NOT have, your SANDF will soon follow Israeli army to come and learn from Nigerian military Academy how to k.ill 1,500 enemy militia terrorists instead of k.illing 1,000 women, children and new born babies in Gaza.

Thiza: CLAIM NOTHING WHEN YOU DONT HAVE ANYTHING
Hey Mister THIZA...

1. There is NOTHING South African military has that Nigerian military does not have except Submarines but we have 2 Lynx and 2 Harbin anti-submarine helicopters.....then Nigerian military has military Spy Satellites and ISTAR-MPA aircraft that South African military does not have.

The Grenade launcher issues has been proved, Nigeria has them too, I posted our AGL photos twice yesterday and it is better than SANDF Y-3 AGL.

Both militaries are well equipped and compare with Algerian, Ethiopia, Morocco and Egypt.

Stop deceiving yourself, over 1,000 pages of this thread proves that SANDF and Nigerian military are balanced equal on equipment, but Nigeria is 100 times superior to South Africa in combat experience with all current weapons/equipment they both have today 2014.

Nigerian armed forces have been DAILY AND CONSTANTLY battle tested on land, sea and air for the past 5 years till today, but unfortunately South African armed forces are almost totally untested in any real major and long lasting constant battle on land, sea and air.

FACT will remain FACT !!!

patches689: Two words

Precision Munitions

You don't have them so it's not an option

And we would not have lost the town in the first place
Any country can 'lose' a town if it has citizens rising up against their government on their own homeland soil, all you need is 1,000 AK-47 rifles smuggled through Mozambique by Rhino poachers and given to South Africans who hate Jacob Zuma, they take over a small town near Mozambique border, wipe out your police, and you have lost the town.... you have fire inside your trousers trying to use Gripen jets to fight 1,000 militants hiding inside innocent people's houses using them as human shields !

Think smart before you talk.

Precision munitions will not differentiate between innocent civilians and armed militants, Israeli air force drones and F-16 jets used them last month in Gaza against Hamas militants mixed with ordinary people and 1,000 innocent civilians still died.

NAF has used all her jets in air to ground combat, Nigerian pilots are now the best in Africa in those type of operations.

South African air force has ZERO war experience with their Gripens and Hawk jets.

You are brain.dead in South Africa grin grin

patches689: We train them in bush warfare

The link has been posted many times

No one cares what you think, what is important is what they think - and they think they have things they can learn from us
Nope, South Africa trained a few, and very few American soldiers in bush survival tactics without the use of weapons, how to find food, track your way back home, find animals to eat, avoid insects, etc.

The photo was first posted here by SANDF Andrewza in 2012, we only saw one single American and one single South Africa soldier both unarmed and without any gun, cutting sticks and whatever....how to survive when lost in the bush grin grin

Details below grin grin

" South African instructors taught U.S. Army NCOs how to survive in the wild.

"They call it 'going back to Adam,' right down to the basics," Seifert said. "The stuff they teach you - it's the real deal. It throws you out of your comfort zone."

That meant navigating at night by stars rather than using a GPS, or rubbing wood together over elephant dung to spark a fire rather than flipping open a lighter.

"When you're all alone, it's dark and you make fire - that's a psychological victory over nature," Seifert said. "It says, 'I'm not totally powerless.'"

"They are very proficient and know the bush like Wikipedia in their heads," Otfinoski said. "If you're thirsty, they know a plant with buds growing underneath that can fill your canteen."

Living off the land also meant catching, killing and cooking their food.

African monitor lizards taste like - you guessed it - chicken. Fire ash apparently adds a salty taste to boiled grasshoppers. The "gut water" - juice squeezed from the grassy pulp found in an impala's stomach - proved a point, but it was disgusting, Seifert said.

"It was the foulest thing I ever drank," Seifert said.

In all, the Soldiers learned about more than 70 birds, 50 trees and 25 insect species. When it comes to eating bugs - yeah, they did a lot of that - Otfinoski learned to avoid insects with bright colors. Stick to natural tones, like those of the brown grasshopper - of which Otfinoski ate hundreds during his few weeks in the bush.

"I now know I'll never die if there are grasshoppers around," Otfinoski said. "I'd be totally comfortable."

While learning to feed themselves."

So much for your SANDF Boys Scout camp training with ZERO combat or weapons....all about cooking Lizards as bushmeat grin grin
