jp philips: Very annoying how people form opinions from fallacies, as at 2011, Americans in china were totaling 110,000 at a time American's population was less than 350,000. yet somebody is claiming Americans don't seek for greener pastures or evade competition like he put it.

Even if i was that dumb, i wont ever say it in public.
You are not dumb, but you are still spewing numbers and rubbish without facts... Makes no sense.

Afam4eva: I guess what he means to say is "There will be mayhem if Jonathan wins the 2015 election". How is he and his party going to know that Jonathan rigged the election. Is Jonathan going to come out openly and say that he rigged. For these opposition parties, if they lose, the election was rigged but if they win, it's the will of the people.
The man said rig, not win. Btw, he's right..

true2god: I knw u r educated but u r very wrong to tell me dat edo is more developed dan enugu, ekiti is more than anambra, or Jigawa is more developed dan Imo. I knw u must be joking or u dnt travel outside lagos.

I grow up in Lagos, and aside from Lagos there is no any economically viable state in the south west. Remember that its only the south western states (aside lagos) in the south that took the FG to court over the offshore\onshore dichotomy on oil revenue sharing formula. They said they cant operate without enough oil revenue frm federation acct. The other south western states are poorer than south eastern states.

The pride of south west is lagos, ok?
Why do you people say apart from Lagos, there are no economically viable states in the SW when in fact the economy of Ogun, Oyo and other state in the SW trumps many of the eastern states?

There are more industries in Ogun stan than the whole of SW joined together.

Anambra state budget for 2013 is N110 billion while Ogun state for 2013 is N211.8 billion, practically doubled Anambra's budget and there's more going on in Ogun state in terms of development that all your states put together.

Enugu is meager N83 billion hence nothing on the ground in terms of development.

Eboyin is N104 billion

Abia is N134 billion

Imo is N197 billion

Facts on the ground doesn't jive with your bogus assertions...

You are not a match for the igbos. Stop planning schemes to extort money from the igbos using stupid policies, it only exposes your diseased ignorant being that you are. Do you pay tax in Lagos? show me your tax ID. You are not even from Lagos, and you are here talking from your behind. Listen, without igbos, you'll be carrying guns to go rob in neighboring countries. Goat like you, you just woke up to think that igbos are making too much money, instead of asking to be shown how to make wealth, you think you can make money with tax and imposing stupid laws and regulations. Carry your mat and go and sleep in ASPAMDA, you will only count the number of containers that igbos are bring in, and one dime will not end up in your pocket. go and throw your pathetic and bug ridden life into the ocean, ants are much preferred in this ecosystem than having your sorry ass around the igbos. You are a just a common thief. It is only a thief who tries to steal other people's wealth covetousnessly, wake up and go out there and get a life. Or you go and join your dirty criminal brothers in Isalè eko, idumota, mushin to collect 20 naira from buses and taxis. Stupid.

Politics › Re: Lagos Labels Spare-Parts Dealers Security Threat by agbameta: 4:20pm On Aug 23, 2013
true2god: As at den Lagos was still a separate colony from the rest of Nigeria. Lagos, as at then, was not Nigeria but a separate British colony that comprises the present Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, Ikoyi and Victoria Island.

The port, the train, telephone exchange were all built by the British to make their lives easy then. After the 1914 amalgamation Lagos, due to closeness to sea and some other logistical advantages was chosen by the Bristish as the administrative capital while Enugu, Ibadan and kaduna remain regional capital. From 1914 to 2000 Lagos continue to receive pre-eminence attention, in terms of infrastructure, as the nation's Fct.

Note that the development of other parts of Lagos (festac, surulere, ikeja, ilupeju etc) were catalyzed durin the oil boom of the 70's. And u wil agree that the money used for this projects was from the niger delta. Lagos belongs to the yorubas as their ancestral land but was developd, first by the bristish then the infusion of large federal cash and human resources from other parts of the country. I doubt if is was the yorubas that built the port, rail lines, the bridges etc in Lagos, they could have done the same in Ibadan and Ogbomoso.

That apart, providence has made it possible for us to be one, either by crook or not, but we should learn how to accomodate and respect each others right\feelings. If the country breaks today, the Yorubas can drive all Igbos out of Lagos, nobody will complain.
Thsi is and has been your undoing, you are always looking for salvation outside your borders and never within your borders. You want what belongs to other people, you want other people to develope your land while you beat your chest about developing other peopel's land and how other people's land belongs to you.

Other state's are commissioning projects and moving forward, but you people are not only sitting around for help, you are busy losing sleep over other people's property, you are happy boasting that you are this and that parcentage of other people's land, you own this and that, still, you refuse to face your own land, you refuse to touch your own land.

Do you people ever sit back and analyze your foolish and aimless ways? Do you love other people more than you love yourself because coommon sense should tell you that your hopes and future is in your hands and not in other people's hands.

I guess the interpretation here is you can develop other peopel's land and boast about it 24/7, but other people have to develop yours in return... Is this your warped logic?

Btw, Delta and the oil producing states ate from other people's sweat like cocoa and rubber in the SW and Groundnut in the North before oil so their oil is fair game. A huge chunk of non oil revenue comes from Lagos state/SW.

Not all the oil is coming from the delta anyways so all that rubbish remains mute and irrelevant.

babestella: I am not disappointed at all at all your post, it has only confirmed that your mentality is not different from that of a 'THIEF' and I make bold to say this, if not for igbos who have come to the state to boost the economy and earning power of the state, people with the kind of mentality you display here would have taken arms to rob. I make bold to say that you are not different from a land grabber, a property fraudster, a covetous rogue who only feeds on the sufferings of other. Let me make something clear to you, you can never match the igbos, even in the next 50 years. Take all the igbos have, their houses, businesses, but you can never take their life's, success in all, is inborn, igbos are not born to be lazy, and they don't reap where they don't sow, that is why igbos don't beg for arm, they work hard to move on.

If you don't have brains, I can ask the dog to give you some, because even the dogs, goats, the rats and roaches are more intelligent than you diseases being.

You are not a match for igbos mr. Man go and get a life and stop waiting for when igbos will run away from Lagos because of your tribal heat; in order to take over their properties, don't wait, you may be surprised at what you'll get.

The leading American business magazine said though putting Lagos on equal footing with Bombay or Sao Paulo as a global capital hub in three years would be quite a feat, the foundations for such growth are already in place.
However, Nigeria, it said, was one of the world’s four best-performing markets last year with a 35.45 per cent gain and is the biggest and most dynamic frontier economy in Africa, with a GDP at par with global capitals like Hong Kong and Singapore.
Mass transit scheme with salon cars that can only transport 5 people?

Anyway, this is a white elephant project and already gullible folks have joined APC apologists to celebrate this nonsense! Transit scheme should never be the priority project in our Ogun State when we still have communities without light and water, when we cannot help our farmers practice mechanized farming, when quality education and healthcare are still out of reach of many.

God punish all the folks celebrating this waste!!!
5 x 150 = 750 x several times everyday. That's thousands of people everyday, that's thousands of cars off the road and eliminating congestion and pollution.

How?

What laws are we talking about here?

What has the commissioner for transportation got to do with security threat issues if any? And what guiding laws are we looking at here?

Can somebody help me out with this so called regularization Mr. Kayode is talking about?

Concession is different from outright sale…. What are the exact terms of this concession agreement between federal govt and the private investors? The terms of the agreement should be made public so that people can discuss from position of knowledge.

Who are these regulatory agencies? What exactly is the role of the commissioner for transportation in all these perplexity?

What has crime prevention got to do with this?

But GEJ gave you your Onisha port and he just gave you your own international airport so we are now even. You have a port and an international airport. Now do your thing and stop crying.

But the thing is, going by your mentality and tribal fixations, even if den give you the world, it's still going to be the same victimization and marginalization cries like babies..

1. I am not ashamed of who I am and where I come from and had it not been for others holding us back I know where the south west and the Yoruba would have been by now in terms of development.

2. I will never renounce my views. As a matter of fact now more than ever before I see how important it is for us to ensure a certain degree of separate development in this country and to hold on to our heritage because we are just so different. Those that have chosen the path of aggression and open hostility and that seek to suppress our voices, intimidate us into silence and drown us with their propaganda are vulgar, crude and rude. That is their way. They are also experts at telling lies.

God bless FFK.

Of course you are spewing crap. Stop killing your spirits with that played out garbage.

Since the end of the same war you are talking about, we've had ibo vice president, we've had ibo ministers, ibo governors, ibo senators, ibo party leaders, ibo federal agency leaders and today, nearly all the top positions in GEJ administration are all ibo dominated, your states collect allocations and taxes just like the rest of Nigeria so what neglect are you talking about?

The only neglect you are experiencing has nothing to do with the rest of Nigeria, but with your own National and local leaders.

This stinks of tribalism...

But at least this is a wake up call for those Igbo Lagosians.
Because you people see victimization and tribalism in everything and what the rest of the society abide by as law abiding citizens..

Pay your tax = Oh no, this is tribalism because we are ibo

Keep your shops clean = Oh no, this is tribalism and war on ibo

Regularize your business = Oh no, this is tribalism because we are ibo

The fact is with your absurd way of thinking and tribal paranoia, you people can not function possitively in any sane and orderly society.

ALTRUTH: I give it to you that Yorubas are very accommodating people, that is a fact, I myself was born and raised in Lagos. However what do you exactly mean by you gave us our lives back and gave our children education? None of these things were handed to the Igbos free of charge in Yoruba land. Yoruba children and those of other ethnic groups also benefited from the then free education so it is not as though it was designed to help the Igbos.

Again, you have to give it to the Igbos for getting to the point where we are now. The Nigerian government after the civil war deliberately created policies to marginalize the Igbos. Government after government have neglected the SE which they saw as 'Rebel territory.' A good example is the 20 pound policy. It is the Jewish blood in us that has energized us to get to where we are today even though I admit we still have a lot to do. You guys should stop describing our land as caves; they are not oooo! Travel to the East and see for yourself what we are doing. We know what we are looking for in Lagos.
Oh please spare us that played out cop out crap. What's all that got to do with obeying the laws in Lagos state.

If you don't want to be called cave people, then start acting like non cave people, start acting obeying laws, start shouldering your social responsibilities, stop acting as if making money is the beginning and end of everything..
When you say conflict, the Igbo mind drifts to war. When you mention compromise, their mind drifts to cowardice. When you mention industry, they equate it to trading fake spare parts. When you talk about capital infrastructure they immediately believe you are talking mansions.

I am not surprised at their equating safety and security concerns of a state govt with petty theft and bakassi cutlass wielding touts in ASPAMDA. If you ever wanted to know what is meant by arrested development, interact with an Igbo and you will right away discover the definition.
Their mentality and mindset is just too bleeped up, I don't see them advancing anytime soon or functioning positively in any sane, lawful and civilized society because regardless of our daily runs and other day to day activities like making money, we still have our societal and communal obligations, things we need to do to hold us together as a society.
