You keep repeating this line. I have challenged you to compare between federal projects in Lagos and Anambra. All you do is to repeat this old and tired comment.
How can you compare Federal project in Anambra to Lagos The FG project in lagos are businesses not Charity. The FG gets over 40 billion naira a month from Lagos on VAT this does not include custom duty or Excise duties not to mention the Airport. Lagos state gets about 13 billion from the FG in a good month so all in all Lagos is actually subsidizing Anambula state.

But the seaport in Lagos has been operating and bringing in money before 1900

so much money in fact that there was electricity with street lights,a telephone exchange and trains in Lagos before 1900 and that Carter Bridge (1st mainland) was built in 1901

As at den Lagos was still a separate colony from the rest of Nigeria. Lagos, as at then, was not Nigeria but a separate British colony that comprises the present Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, Ikoyi and Victoria Island.

The port, the train, telephone exchange were all built by the British to make their lives easy then. After the 1914 amalgamation Lagos, due to closeness to sea and some other logistical advantages was chosen by the Bristish as the administrative capital while Enugu, Ibadan and kaduna remain regional capital. From 1914 to 2000 Lagos continue to receive pre-eminence attention, in terms of infrastructure, as the nation's Fct.

Note that the development of other parts of Lagos (festac, surulere, ikeja, ilupeju etc) were catalyzed durin the oil boom of the 70's. And u wil agree that the money used for this projects was from the niger delta. Lagos belongs to the yorubas as their ancestral land but was developd, first by the bristish then the infusion of large federal cash and human resources from other parts of the country. I doubt if is was the yorubas that built the port, rail lines, the bridges etc in Lagos, they could have done the same in Ibadan and Ogbomoso.

That apart, providence has made it possible for us to be one, either by crook or not, but we should learn how to accomodate and respect each others right\feelings. If the country breaks today, the Yorubas can drive all Igbos out of Lagos, nobody will complain.

Igbos in Lagos are indeed doing well, even more than what I saw.
Yorubas are really pushing Fashola to do sth about these prosperous igbos and these are what he came up with.
Lwkmd!!!
If yorubas dont stop being lazy, am afraid they will maintain having only 10 percent of lagos properties.

What a load of tripe. I will respond to it later.

In the mean time, please supply FG infrastructure in Ilupeju and Ikeja.

When the British were still around, revenue from Cocoa was used in developing Lagos so stop that lie of the Brits bringing funds from Britain to develop Lagos. Even if the Brits did that, was it your money?

true2god: Ur response just got my attention. In the last 25yrs the population of Abuja is less than 200,000, but today its over 4million. Why? There is a lot of federal presense in Abuja, embassies and high commissions, ministries, etc. So its very natural for pple to move there to get a better life.

Until the FG stopped this skewed develpmental processes and balance it evenly, this issue will continue. I wont be surprised if gwari\hausa pple wake up one day and start 'deporting' non-indigenes frm abuja to go back to their states after billions of dollars niger-delta money has been used to set up infrastructures there. This is exactly wats happening in Lagos.

The over concentration of FG's presence in an area at the expense of others is the result of current Lagos crisis. If the FG dredge the onitsha and owerri inland port, make onne port an import processing zone (like lagos), built basic infratrutures in the east (just like lagos), there will be a natural migration.

This is where the Yorubas should play a role by pressuring the Fg to even social-econimic infrastrutural development acros the country.

Nigeria was under leadership of Igbo men from 1960 to 66. The Eastern regional government was under the command of Igbo men. What kind of development did you have in Igboland during this time? Even back then places like Calabar and Port Harcourt were more developed than Igbo territories. So with your leaders in position of authority both at national and regional levels, why was your land not developed?

So whatever build-up you had before the war, should still be there and recoverable after the war.

Between 1970 till now we have had two Igbo VP. Could they not see that their land needed development? What was their contribution to the development of Igboland?

New States and geopolitical zones created long after the war are by today's scale far more developed and appealing than Igboland. These places have attained the growth because of the vision of their leaders. Example - Jigawa, Edo, Ekiti, Niger, Kogi, these four states are brand new starting from bottom up and they already surpass much of Igboland in terms of appeal for people to settle in, visit or work. Why is Igboland lagging behind these new starters? Its because your leaders do not believe it is their duty to develop and grow alaigbo, they are stuck in the victim sentiment and are holding FG in ransom to come in and turn their region into a paradise. If Jigawa, Kogi, Ekiti were waiting for FG they will never grow to the scale where they are now, and the leadership in these states continue to map new plans and grow areas to attract investment and diversity. Your leaders have indoctrinated in you the mentality that Nigeria and others in this country owe you something, that we owe you development and progress. I ask you, as leaders, what do they owe you. Moreover, your generation will be the leaders there in few years, what do you owe yourselves?

The leaders of other regions will not stop their own growth and progress on account of you, whether you are present or absent but they will challenge your presence when their progress is threatened by it. That is the reaction we have always heard in North and recently in SW. Your presence is questioned. You may individually be able to change your individual destiny but when it comes to your collective future this is a responsibility for the leadership, not the individual.

APC in power will return authority to the regions. What vision do your leaders have to tap early into this projected reality? You muat do for yourself before others can do for you. If you wait for others in Nigeria to do for you your land will never develop beyond its current state and ultimately your entire ethnic group may abandon the land for better appeal elsewhere like Ekiti, Jigawa, Edo, where the indigenes will continously detest and subject you to humiliation.

Challenge your leaders and put pressure on them to bring pride and greatness to your land. If they initiate some projects on their own and get it going perharps FG might approach to help complete it and add more.

Thsi is and has been your undoing, you are always looking for salvation outside your borders and never within your borders. You want what belongs to other people, you want other people to develope your land while you beat your chest about developing other peopel's land and how other people's land belongs to you.

Other state's are commissioning projects and moving forward, but you people are not only sitting around for help, you are busy losing sleep over other people's property, you are happy boasting that you are this and that parcentage of other people's land, you own this and that, still, you refuse to face your own land, you refuse to touch your own land.

Do you people ever sit back and analyze your foolish and aimless ways? Do you love other people more than you love yourself because coommon sense should tell you that your hopes and future is in your hands and not in other people's hands.

I guess the interpretation here is you can develop other peopel's land and boast about it 24/7, but other people have to develop yours in return... Is this your warped logic?

Btw, Delta and the oil producing states ate from other people's sweat like cocoa and rubber in the SW and Groundnut in the North before oil so their oil is fair game. A huge chunk of non oil revenue comes from Lagos state/SW.

Not all the oil is coming from the delta anyways so all that rubbish remains mute and irrelevant.

@ mayor of lagos

APC is the future, yet APC is presenting an Ngige who slept 2yrs in the senate to Anambrarians? I agreed with most of your post though but returning Ngige as a progressive to Anambrarians is an Insult.
Ngige does not have what it takes to progress Anambra, the best he can do it to channel the meager funds of the east to fuel the draconian agenda of the west against his own people.
Give us a sane candidate, pls!

lastly, i disagree with the part where you said that the structures in the east were left in tact for the most part after the war, lemme give you some examples,

The Niger bridge was brought down during the war (by the biafran soldiers), did you account for it as still in tact?
The Onitsha main market and Abagana international park were burnt to ashes.

after the Nigerian troops declared operation Hiroshima in calabar, the federal troops threw in every thing they had and Calabar and its environs saw heavy artillery bombing for 5days from both land, sea and air.

same process were repeated in Enugu and Umuahia, it is an over statement to sit in Lagos to conclude that our structures were still in tact after the war.

the new market road in onitsha had high rise buildings before the war, After the war, you can clearly see the River Niger standing in front of the Obi's palace.

though I agree with most of your points especially on the leadership aspect, how can a goat like Chinweoke Mbadinuju be allowed to waste Anambra for 4yrs at the same time an ohakim is sinking imo state while A m0r0n like Orji is setting abia on fire, still beats my imagination.

And the Almighty APGA ojukwu's ordained party is busy disqualifying a tested technocrat like Soludo, these are the issues, glad you pointed it out. Ibos are their problem.

I grow up in Lagos, and aside from Lagos there is no any economically viable state in the south west. Why do you people say apart from Lagos, there are no economically viable states in the SW when in fact the economy of Ogun, Oyo and other state in the SW trumps many of the eastern states?

There are more industries in Ogun stan than the whole of SW joined together.

Anambra state budget for 2013 is N110 billion while Ogun state for 2013 is N211.8 billion, practically doubled Anambra's budget and there's more going on in Ogun state in terms of development that all your states put together.

Enugu is meager N83 billion hence nothing on the ground in terms of development.

Eboyin is N104 billion

Abia is N134 billion

Imo is N197 billion

Facts on the ground doesn't jive with your bogus assertions...

Very annoying how people form opinions from fallacies, as at 2011, Americans in china were totaling 110,000 at a time American's population was less than 350,000, 000. yet somebody is claiming Americans don't seek for greener pastures or evade competition like he put it.

Even if i was that dumb, i wont ever say it in public.

true2god: I knw u r educated but u r very wrong to tell me dat edo is more developed dan enugu, ekiti is more than anambra, or Jigawa is more developed dan Imo. I knw u must be joking or u dnt travel outside lagos.

I grow up in Lagos, and aside from Lagos there is no any economically viable state in the south west. Remember that its only the south western states (aside lagos) in the south that took the FG to court over the offshore\onshore dichotomy on oil revenue sharing formula. They said they cant operate without enough oil revenue frm federation acct. The other south western states are poorer than south eastern states.

The pride of south west is lagos, ok?
what is the GDP of the entire SE
Ogun state has more internally generated revenue than several SE states if not ALL put together
We have remained true to ou cocoa which is the number 2 forex earner in Nigeria today. What is produced in the SE today that brings in Forex?

And who are you to insult people with empty rubbish. Insult is never a sane substitution for facts and rational conversation, it only shows the shallow depht of your form and existence.

Take a deep breath, reformulate your thoughts without insults for proper response.
