Danzysb: I disagree with you sir.I know the system and society in Nigeria is evil and bad,but you can't say everyone in the country is bad. What is going on is just the effect of the Nigerian situation,in Nigeria is one that the area with the largest population has chosen to keep themselves backward and produce illiterates and blood thirsty jihadist groups, now that is what you call a bad society, and because majority carries the vote they have their way and produce a president that has been nutured in a backward thinking society....a good example is the one we have on the sit today.... Actually the system in Nigeria in a whole is screwed. But still if someone that is put in office is in that office and he cannot peform his duties or at least make even a little progress, and at the same time keeps quiet and does nothing, and at the same time makes incompetent decisions in life and death situations that affect the whole masses should expect criticisms, insults and even much more and if he is unwilliling to stand up to the task should be impeached, removed or taken away immediately before more serious problems affect the masses he chooses to lead, for him and the leaders around him to say no and resist that they remain in office,to steal from the citizens, cause problems and bring shame to the country infront of the whole world then they should expect, back the worst from the populace..... #Case closed# You are contradicting yourself, how do you expect a bad society to produce a good leader? Is that leader not a product of that society? Was that leader not a child? What lessons did society impact on that child as he or she grew up? In Nigeria we are nutured to dislike someone just because of difference in religious beliefs, we are nutured to dislike people of different ethnic backgrounds. Our political system is a flawed one, our education system suppresses individuality growth. How do you expect a good leader to come out from this? In a corrupt system you don't follow status quo, you change it. Till we decide as a nation to take responsibility for our actions and change for the better, we will remain where we all. Let's stop blaming our government for everything, the government is bad because we looked at it and did nothing. |

Kayceenaz: It is becoming almost second nature for most Nigerians, both the educated and non-educated classes, to cross the line while pouring out their hearts on national issues. I agree, there are ample question marks on how the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has acted on and reacted to socio-political, economic, and religious matters; spanning from federal character, insurgency, ethno-religious skirmishes, education, malfeasance, to now presidential invisibility before this coronavirus pandemic.
Naturally, we feel betrayed, used, and insignificant to the presidency. Not paling in comparison to status-quo that should be, your feelings are indeed valid. But letting this emotional pain lead you to hurl insults of all sorts at President Buhari, as rampant online, is an overreaction. As you call him unprintable, reprehensible names and ridicule him through jokes/memes, remember he is fallible, someone's husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and holds office of President of Nigeria. It is enough to beg to differ with and criticize constructively his leadership style plus policies. Using constitutional and moral means to show displeasure are in order. Look emotional intelligence's way.
Disturbingly, some people even wish Buhari death, hoping news of his demise filters in soonest. If that's not a representation of the Scriptures' observation that "The heart of man is desperately wicked," then it must be of something worse. If you fall in this category, kindly stop now! Such comments are humor taken too far.
As events unfold and we watch with disappointment, anticipating the National Assembly does the needful and saves the day, let us (Nigerians) amplify our voices to be critically loud enough, not insulting enough.
©Kaycee Naze, Rational Pen. You have said the truth, but unfortunately it won't go anywhere. Buhari is Nigeria president today not because of his power hungry nature but the people's greed and wicked nature. A good society cannot produce a bad leader, only bad society produces bad leaders, and this is the case of Nigeria today. Must of us don't want to claim responsibility for our actions and rather blame buhari. |
