PoliticsRe: Tinubu Blasts PDP, Atiku by agog: 8:12am On Jan 09, 2019
mrakeli62:
ALL Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was yesterday unsparing on the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the February 16 presidential election Atiku Abubakar.

The PDP, according to the former Lagos State governor, is seeking power to return the country to the dark days when the economy crumbled and Nigerians groaned under its reign between 1999 and 2015.

To him, it amounts to standing logic on its head to compare the PDP standard bearer to incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the APC.

Tinubu issued a statement titled: “We accept President Buhari’s assignment” on his appointment to lead President Buhari’s re-election campaign as the Co-Chairman of the APC Presidential Campaign Council. He said the two candidates – Buhari and PDP’s Atiku Abubakar – are miles apart when it comes to vision, mission and character.

His words: “The character of the two candidates cannot be more distinct. President Buhari is a straight and honest man. Leave a naira on the table with Buhari in the room. You will find the naira on the table when you return.

“When Buhari says ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ you know where he stands. He means what he says, no more, no less. With Atiku, things are more nuanced. When Atiku speaks, he may mean ‘yes,’ ‘no,’ ‘maybe,’ ‘I don’t know,’ ‘come back tomorrow,’ ‘all the above,’ or ‘none of the above.’

“His compass has four needles pointing in different directions at the same time. He knows of no direction to take. President Buhari’s word is his bond. When Atiku speaks, it is to give you the slip.

“We cannot afford a President whose ways and mind is a maze of contradicting urges and colliding desires. This shows he has no vision for the nation and no guiding principles, except the naked pursuit of power for the naked use of that power.”

Tinubu spoke of Atiku’s role in the Obasanjo administration. He said: “Atiku had his chance to shine as VP when he controlled the privatisation programme of the Obasanjo government. He abused this assignment. He helped squander billions of dollars on power generation that did nothing but generated darkness.

“That government had so much money at its disposal and that is exactly what it did. It disposed of the money, yet, failed to treat the poor or build for the future.

“Atiku laid waste to the national treasury for eight long years. That is enough for one lifetime. We should not reward him by giving him another eight years because the more he feeds, the stronger his hunger grows.

“His is a thirst that can’t be quenched and a hand that cannot be restrained from taking whatever is on the table.

“As the PDP candidate, he is now the leader of an avaricious horde that seeks to reattach its mandible once again to the public wealth and forever lay siege to our nation’s future. Nigerians would do well not to pay them any attention.”

The APC stalwart also made scathing remarks on the PDP.

Drawing a comparison between the ruling and the main opposition parties, Tinubu said: “This election concerns more than two competing personalities and political parties. It is a contest between two different visions for the country and the futures these visions portend.

“The APC seeks a better Nigeria by reforming our institutions of governance that these institutions may better implement policies engendering dynamic economic development.

“We seek not only growth but also a fair and just allocation to all segments of the society of the harvest of our national endeavours. Let no Nigerian be forever trapped in poverty and despair. Let all Nigerians be given the genuine opportunity to realise their full potential and contribute to this nation and their own lives as much as their talents and willpower permits of them.

“We build a Nigeria where government leads the nation but does not rule over the people.”

“On the other hand, the PDP pushes toward a future that takes the nation back to the malpractices of the past. Blind to the possibilities of a better day and afraid of the equality that true reform will bring, the PDP remains vested in the ways of corrupt governance and arrogant disregard for the public. For them, the unjust past is not just the object of their dreams; it is their sole destination.

“Thus, this election is about two different policy visions and two different models of leadership. This election is about substantive issues and about character.

“The APC will continue to build a political economy that will well serve Nigeria long after oil revenues are no longer sufficient to sustain the nation and its ever-growing population.

“We are diversifying the economy, giving basic food, health and educational assistance to the most-needy among us, improving agricultural productivity so that our farmers grow more to feed for increasing urban populations and also earn more to sustain their families, and about building needed infrastructure, including electricity and water, because we realise a national economy cannot grow beyond the capacity of the infrastructure that serves that economy.

“Meanwhile, the PDP clan wants to return to the days where they rule the nation like overlords. They want to own every industry and control everything that has anything to do with the creation of wealth.

“They seek to reverse the democratic maxim that government is the servant of the people. The PDP wants a situation where those in government are the masters and the people bow their heads to the interests of the mighty and the rich.

“We have seen this before. Those who really care about Nigeria care not to see such malign governance again.”

Tinubu assured the President that members of the Campaign Council would work hard to stop those who will halt the nation’s progress from coming back to power.

He said the council would not let the President down “because doing so would also let down the nation”.

Tinubu said: “The 2019 APC Presidential Campaign Council has been inaugurated by President Buhari. In his speech at the inaugural meeting, he did more than offer us guidance on the campaign. In his straightforward manner, he outlined the achievements of his administration, reminding the nation of the pillars of progressive governance and of our party.

“I think I can speak for all members of the Campaign Council that we accept the assignments given by the President with devotion and a firm commitment to perform to our utmost the individual and collective tasks given.

“It is a great honour and responsibility he has given us. We dare not let him down because doing so would also let down the nation.

“Consequently, the members of the APC presidential campaign council accept our respective assignments as both high honor and heavy responsibility.

“We will work diligently to re-elect President Buhari. We do this not for personal accolades. We do this not merely to re-elect a party member. We do this because it is the best thing for Nigeria. The campaign has begun!”

My fav lugard quote. 2018 black man still never change

Through the ages, the African appears to have evolved no organised religious creed, and though some tribes appear to believe in a deity, the religious sense seldom rises above pantheistic animalism and seems more often to take the form of a vague dread of the supernatural. He lacks the power of organisation, and is conspicuously deficient in the management and control alike of men or business. He loves the display of power, but fails to realize its responsibility - he will work hard with a less incentive than most races. He has the courage of the fighting animal, an instinct rather than a moral virtue. In brief, the virtues and defects of his race -type are those of attractive children, whose confidence when it is won is given ungrudgingly as to an older and wiser superior and without envy. Perhaps, the two traits which have impressed me as those most characteristic of the African native are his lack of apprehension and his lack of ability to visualize the future"

angry Nigeria is the most useless country in the world, considering the length of this war, by now the Useless nigerian army should have at least 2 attack helicopters in every major military base to respond to distress calls of soldiers within minutes.

Dasuki is in detention illegally, so who is stealing money meant for weapons and the military, as the Apc stated in the past that the money dasuki stole prevented The army from fighting with quality weapons.

angry
this war would never end, it has taken an international dimension with so many international interest, thanks to the Northern leaders and the Apc who destroyed, ridiculed and tarnished the image of the country internationally just to get power.
The worse is yet to come as boko haram is now a bargaining tool for foreign powers. any government they dislike, they usher in the terrorist sect. like what is happening in the middle east.
A divided country like Nigeria can never win boko haram, until we stop politics of destroy the country under his tenure so that we can get power, as propagated by APC. angry

just watch the annoying video shared in the other thread and see how some useless ragtag miscreants, were killing so called trained and armed soldiers angry
hmm well said bro. At least two attack helicopters in major military bases in the theatre of command would have done the magic...
Conversely the day boko haram lay their hands on an attack aircraft and use it will spell the greatest doom for this country.

Focus: God give us Christian homes

WORD FOR TODAY
A Christian home is a home where the Bible is loved and taught,
Homes where the Master’s will is sought and homes crowned with beauty God's love has wrought!!!
************************************
Scriptural Reference
"He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly" (Acts 10:2 NIV)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Christian home is a home where the father is true and strong, a home that are free from the blight of wrong and home that are joyous with love and song. A home founded on the solid rock of God's word.
It is a home where the mother, in caring quest, strives to show others the way of the Lord is best; Homes where the Lord is an honored guest. Homes where the children are led to know Christ in His beauty who loves them so. A Home where the altar fires burn and glow.
It is a home that will fulfill the purpose of God on earth and establish His counsel. Your home is far from what God wants it to be until it becomes a Christian home.
Question For Meditation:
Gbam !
People need to understand what true feminism is
Here is my letter to so called feminists :
Ladies and Women, please be guided.
Feminism isn't a battle against men.
It isn't about labelling one gender good/evil or mediocre/superior
Personally, I am a feminist, yup ! and I am a guy !
Feminism doesn't mean you shouldn't carry out certain roles and duties, which you should.
It shouldn't make you rude and uncultured all in the name of being "strong"
Back to the issue of roles, God has made you the female folks-mothers, and there is nothing we can do about it, he gave you breasts, a womb and a passage for babies for a REASON.So, because of all these, a natural responsibilty has been placed on you as a home maker .Roles ! Duties !
Don't let your fight for equality get in the way of your duty.You have to understand that you can't get equality in everything.You have to also understand that there are so many ways you as women are even more superior than men.For example, pain threshold, did you know that women can withstand more pain than men ?, there are so many physical,emotional and pshycological facts I can pull out.
Feminism means, a man should not be given a upper hand in a job/work place etc, because he is a man !, if he is selected, it should be because he is qualified/capable
Heck ! feminism also means you as a woman should'nt be given preference because you are loaded with gigantic mulele in front of you and behind you !.Yes I am a feminist and I would feel cheated as a guy if you are chosen over me because of that, if I am more qualified than you are !.This is true feminism
Moving on, feminism also means when we go out for dinner, I don't have to pay all the time , because "I am a man", you should pay sometimes too !.I should only have to pay ALL THE TIME, if you don't have money, or I choose to, or you don't have a job.Heck !, why don't you have a job !, why don't you have a skill ! !, you are a feminist remember !.Do something with your hands and don't be a liabilty, being a liabilty only makes you an hypocrite and you are not practicing true feminism .!
Having said that, marriage is a little different, men o men !!, your wives are are human beings too, help them out with the kids when they are tired, they are bone and flesh too and they get tired !.Help her cook sometimes.But don't over do it, else you might be turned into a footstool.Respect her and appreciate her efforts, even if its her duty !.She is an helper, not a slave !.You didn't buy her, you married her ! and she married you !.Hence you are partners !
Buy gifts occasionally , celebrate her, make her feel on top of the world , even if its her duty !.
Women, respect your husbands, commend him as well, help him out when he is broke even if "he is the man of the house, and its his responsbility", even if he isn't broke, attempt to shoulder some financial responsibilities sometimes.You are partners !.Appreciate him.Don't just f**king brag about it like most of you do, when you help out financially.
Remember, wisdom is the principal thing, knowledge is light, and love is life.Combine these well and you would be happy
Donald- A fellow feminist.
Deprofessional:
Immediately after my wedding 7 years ago, my mother called me one night and gave me a piece of advice that has kept me a happily married man.
My mother told me never to allow any problem or disagreement with my wife to linger for a long time.
She told me that I should always make a move to reconcile with my wife even if she is the one at fault.
According to my mother, people will see me as not capable of holding my family together if my marriage fails.
There are times I will shout, scold and use bad words on my wife, but before the next day, I will make reconciliation moves. I will apologize, kiss and
even make love to her.
With this strategy, my family lives in happiness.
What works for my family may not work for yours.
But from your post I can see ego and pride in you. Nothing kill marriage like ego and pride.
And please don't ever think that the next woman is better than your wife.
best advice there
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Labour Rejects N30,000 Minimum Wage Offer By House Of Representatives by agog: 4:02pm On Oct 15, 2017
This agreement works better in an highly industrialised countries where unskilled and semi skilled workers work in manufacturing industries feeding machine with raw materials or removing finished goods from production line. Here in Nigeria, most people in this category work in service industry which are difficult to place on hourly wages like a company security or gate man or a car washer.
oz4real83:
it depends on both the empoyee and the employer agreement. If an employer wants an employee to work for 3 hours,then the employer must be ready to pay for 3 hours. If the employer realises that the employee isnt working the rightful amount of work,the employer can easily cancel the remaining work and pay for the hours already done. This method is aslo flexible for the employee. He can decide to work 4hours for Mr A and 5 hours for Mr B.
This is gonna be a good read. i have been looking for a book on this man.
GeneralTee:
#VictorBanjo: The Children Speak
by Deji Yesufu
Today, September 1, 2017, the scheduled media project to shed light on the person and life of Brigadier Victor Adebukunola Banjo begins.
To kick start the project, the first son of the late Nigerian army officer, Dele Victor-Banjo, shall be speaking through an article. I have decided to serialize that article in three parts and shall begin publishing today.
Following his, Banjo's first child, Funto Banjo Oyeleye, will have the floor with her own article. She will be shedding light on happenings in their home that morning of January 17th, 1966. Since she is the oldest, she alone has the best recollection of the day their father was arrested.
Olayinka Banjo Omigbodun, Banjo's third child, will be speaking through an article on her father also. After her, we hope to have something from Adeyemi Banjo, the Banjo family youngest child. He was six months old when their father was arrested.
There will be videos made on their father. And some of the articles here will be published in national dailies. There will also be radio and newspaper interviews.
The month of September, 2017, is a solemn month for the Banjo family. They would rather have spent this month in quiet solitude. But journalists like us have gotten them out to speak.
I therefore request that comments made on these threads with hash-tag Victor Banjo be made with due respect to them and their late father.
Following their own media project, I'll begin to publish my book on their father: The Story of Victor Banjo. The book will be available on Amazon.com and Okadabooks.com. Watch out for it.
Thank you.
