I am 28 years old, a graduate of one of the university in South West. I work as a contract staff in a bank.

I met this guy about a year ago through my best female friend, and the journey started. I took him to my parents and he also took me to his parents too, and the wedding preparation started.

We were suppose to do family introduction but my parents says there is no need considering some logistic reasons. Although my mum has her reservation concerning him. But since my father has no objection I think am good to go.

He has sent money for some preparation since he is not residing in Lagos. The problem started after I went to idumota with my aunt to buy our engagement clothes. It was my aunt that drove me to the market. When we returned, my fiance called me, we talked for some times, but he couldn't appreciate my aunt for her kind gesture. Although my aunt didn't say anything that day but she wasn't happy. My dad also complained that he has been rude to him. The same goes with my mum.

The last straw that broke the Carmels back was when he was arguing with my aunt over the phone. He did not know I was in my aunt's house that particular day. I wasn't happy at all, thinking that if he would not regard my parents how would he treat me after marriage.

So I confronted him the second day over the phone, telling him that I'm not happy about the way my parents where complaining about him, and that attitude of him is creating fear in me. Instead for him to be a little remoseful and even call those people and apologize, he was arguing with me, still in my aunt's house.

So I told him, maybe we should put the preparation on hold thinking he would at least try and apologize to them. He just said, is that what you want and ended the call.

Everyone was surprised. He didn't call back it was his mum that called my mum, she didn't even persuade them to stop me from taking such step, and the guy too didn't call me for like too weeks until when I called him and he said he wasn't interested in the marriage again.

Actually, I wasn't happy and I have been downcasted since then, but on the other hand, May l ask this question does this guy really loves me?. Is he really mature enough for marriage. Is it all my fault? Please don't insult or abuse me. I just want to know if it's all my fault.

If he is the one spending UP TO 80% of the COST of the wedding, then it has nothing to do with loving you or not. Man wey dey spend his legit money on things like weddings with no guaranteed returns dey provoke quite easily.

This can even suppress his sense of gratitude or humility.

This is the remote cause of friction in a lot of homes where only the man or woman is the bread winner. Too much economic load on anyone involuntarily alters their behaviour towards the freeloading party.

As a SWern christian, before you vote for APC due to ethnicity, remember that it is only in SW that your children are struggling with Hijab saga in schools. Igbos have less than 1 percent muslims, yet they, like other well-meaning Nigerians, have condemned a muslim-muslim ticket in a country with a religious demography like ours. It is only during election that they will say, we are one, religion doesn't matter. Immediately after election, MURIC will start telling you why you must give 50/50 appointments in the whole of southwest. When last did you hear from MURIC since APC primaries? undecided

If you're from SW and you think a Tinubu/Shettima presidency is right after Obasanjo's 8yrs, Osinbajo's 8yrs, please explain your reason to me and other southerners.

If you're from SW and you think Igbos are supporting Obi because he is from SE, do you remember that Chuba Okadigbo was vice to Buhari and they lost in all SE States. OBJ won in all. Also Rochas Okorocha, Orji Uzor Kalu, Chris Okotie and Dave Umahi have contested for presidency. Did you see them getting any support from Igbos even at primary level? Why is it that when a Yoruba person contests for presidency, it is national but when the person is from SE, it becomes Igbo presidency? Please explain what Igbo presidency even means if SE is still in Nigeria.

Lastly, less than 1% of SE-terners are Muslims but they , like other enlightened Nigerians openly kick against a Muslim-Muslim ticket but you from SW with all your sophistication do not even understand the dangers of such leadership in a secular and religiously diverse Nigeria? Remember Hijab saga which only happens in SW even in church owned schools. Please explain to me why you support such a ticket.

The CHEAPEST authentic Nike shoe is between 70-80 USD while ordinary slides cost like 30USD, imagine what we lose with each pay sold in Nigeria.

Your concern should be to protect your future and that of your children, your vote should go to anyone who you feel can guarantee you that security. To achieve this, we need to focus on electing vibrant people who have the capacity to deliver. I am not telling you to vote for anyone but take your time to think about this.

I guess you got the wrong idea from my statement. Off course he says what he plans to do, how to do it is what he won't start outlining one by one. All other contestants have been saying the same thing and everyone knows our problem. We need to improve infrastructure, we need to boost agriculture, we have to turn around education sector, better healthcare, etc. These problems have been perennial. Previous dispensations promised to do them, were they able to achieve them? No.

Obi is saying that those are achievable. He is asking for our votes so that we all can witness in our lifetime that it is possible. That's the message I tried to pass!
So if you're normal, this toddler explanation may help you. On the contrary, you're below salvage value.

Atiku focuses more on solutions to Nigerian challenges whenever he is being interviewed, Obi on the other hand, when he is being interviewed, focuses and spend too much time on speaking about the problems without proffering solutions and how he intend to employ those solutions to tackle those challenges, Obi has to change the direction of his campaign to focus on solutions, that is how you sell your candidature convincingly to the electorates and the undecided voters

You don't reveal secrets to your competitors. He has said it severally that they have mapped out solutions to these problems.

In our political history, it is usual for our presidents and their political party to hold on to power for 2 tenures which amounts to 8 years except during coups or death. What it means is that, come 2023 elections, if we get it wrong, we will be waiting for another 8 years to make amends. 8 solid years. That will be until 2031. Remember that this present journey started 2015. And we will end it by 2023.

To some people, it may sound simple and trivial due to our petty sentiments as a people. These sentiments include but are not restricted to:
I. "I want this president because he is from my tribe".
II. "He is our darling president because he is from my religion".
III. "I support him because he is from my geopolitical zone".
IV. "I will campaign and vote for this president because he is my party flag bearer"

One thing is clear. These sentiments will NEVER guarantee good quality of life for you, your family, your tribe, religion or the nation at large if the leadership is incompetent.

Our main yardstick should always be "who is the best candidate that can offer the majority of our citizens the best quality of life? Who has the best manifesto and enough experience to back it up?
Who is least corrupt in their previous careers or official position? Other sentiments can then follow.

To put it clearly
1. If you're 32 years by 2023 and you choose the wrong president, you will be 40 years by the time he will be done. Think of how u will feel as a frustrated 40 year old man or woman.

2. If you vote wrongly by 2023, your pikin wey u born even by 2024 may start school in a government school which has no chair or desks and may have to sit on the floor. That is not the future u want for your unborn children.
