franchasofficia:Think about it carefully. Most locally fabricated grinding machines work by rubbing two rough steel plates against each other. The grinding happens because the grains pass between those two metal surfaces under a controlled gap — and depending on how smooth or fine we want the grind, the plates are adjusted closer together. Now, when two rough steel surfaces constantly rub against each other, there is always wear and tear. Tiny metal particles gradually shave off from the plates during the grinding process. Those microscopic metal filings don’t just disappear — they can mix with the food being ground. Over time, repeated consumption of food contaminated with small amounts of metal particles may pose health risks. It’s not necessarily about the grains not being ground properly, and it may not be about “chemicals” intentionally added. The concern is more about metal contamination due to friction and equipment quality — especially if the steel used is not food-grade or if the plates are worn out and not properly maintained. That’s why more detailed investigation and public education would be helpful — to determine whether material quality, maintenance standards, or fabrication methods are contributing to potential long-term health issues, and how people can reduce any risks. |
Whether the situation is state-sponsored or not, Nigerians appear divided. Some believe that Donald Trump should intervene in Nigeria, while others argue that his interest is not to liberate Nigerians but to gain access to our resources. They point to the United States’ historical antecedents in countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Rwanda, where interventions left those nations worse off than before. For clarity, I am neither a supporter of President Tinubu nor of the APC. However, my consistent position has been this: whenever the United States strongly opposes a particular leader or government, it often suggests that the leader is doing something that does not align with U.S. interests. We have seen this pattern with leaders such as Goodluck Jonathan, Muammar Gaddafi, and with countries like China, Russia, India, and South Africa. Glimpsetv: |
This statistic appears inaccurate when compared with actual market data. For example, a 2010 Toyota Highlander that was valued at about ₦5.5M in 2015 now sells for over ₦20M in 2024. Given this reality, how can the reported figures be considered correct? |
While it’s easy to point fingers at the government or institutions, we also need to acknowledge our own role in the problem. I’ve personally observed people coming out late at night to dump refuse right in the middle of the Lekki-Epe Expressway, and I honestly can’t understand how anyone in their right mind would think that’s acceptable. The solution isn’t far-fetched—for as little as ₦5,000 monthly, you can have your waste collected right from your doorstep by PSP operators. If we all commit to this simple responsibility, the streets would be cleaner, the environment healthier, and we’d see real progress much faster. It’s a shared duty. The government has its part to play, but so do we—individually and collectively. |
Always good to reflect on these stories from the past. Just to clarify that Bata was sold to FAMAD in the 90s and FAMAD is actually still operational, though their production activities have significantly reduced over the years. That said, their showroom is still open, and you can still walk in to get your Cortina or other products. In fact, I bought some for my daughters about a year ago. While it may not be at the scale we remember from the 90s, they’ve managed to stay afloat — which is worth commending especially since FAMAD is fully owned by Nigerians. |
Roy1918:The most important thing for Nigerians now is the reduction of fuel costs, both diesel and petrol. Fuel prices significantly impact the overall cost of commodities due to their role in production and transportation. Dangote has benefited from government's support over the years, including waivers and, at times, a monopoly. I believe he should buy crude directly from marginal field operators under the same payment terms used for exporting the product, since Nigerian crude has been used as collateral for borrowing money. Dangote, as a stakeholder, did not raise concerns when loans were taken against crude oil. I maintain that, just as Dangote is creating jobs, fuel marketers also employ many people. Maintaining competition in the market will drive prices down and benefit the Nigerian economy. |
In my opinion, we should not close the borders to the importation of fuel, even though we have a local refinery. Let Nigerians decide who they want to buy from, whether it is imported fuel that might be cheaper, especially after considering transportation costs, or locally manufactured fuel. Recall that Dangote fixed a price of N1200 per litre of diesel, which i think should have been lower. I believe the market should remain open, allowing the Nigerian masses to make their choice based on price. It is important that Nigerians oppose any monopolistic practices. l tunjijones: |
Your have not even mentioned the main issue here. It is not good for your health. A friend of mine almost lost his child because of smoke from generator. There are two ways to go about it, 1. Report the problem to the state ministry of environmental for them to handle it. They may seal up the place and give conditions to reopen the place, but the woman will be your enemy. 2. Buy small industrial gas cooker and give to her as a present, letting her know that it is cheaper to cook with gas than firewood. This will cost you money but at least you are safe from the smoke and you are also able to look good in front of the woman. |
I think 5k should be more than enough for a month if it is only for the water pump. This is based on my experience from a compound of 5 flats. You should however note that the kwh consumed monthly by the pump depends on the number of persons living in the compound, the way you and your fellow tenant use water, surface or underground leaks on the water pipe and fixed on time and tap leaks from your flat or your fellow tenants' flat that are not fixed on time. If all leaks are repaired on time and you are not wasting water, the 5K should be enough for 1 month and some weeks. |
Last time i checked Former governor Emmanuel Udom commissioned the vehicle assembly plant in Akwaibom. What is happening? |
Try add Kano to your list of developed capital. Workch: |
You have not stated the reasons why your sister is not comfortable with the husband always eating food prepared by only the house help. there may be other signals. I would like to ask if your sister knows how to cook. Consequently, If your sister cannot cook I believe that eating food prepared by the house help is the best alternative available for the husband. because the other alternative is to eat outside before getting home. To really confirm if something is wrong I would advise your sister to serve the husband food cooked by the house maid as if she was the person that cooked the food. If he rejects the food, then we know there is something wrong. but for now i don't see anything wrong in my opinion. Lovilla: |
how are they less indebted? Do your calculations with percentage to know the actual state that is less indebted. Delta that has the highest debt but can pay up faster than Anambra with what they are generating per annum. Mystic216: |
Some will tell you it is few months used. the few months they refer to could be up to 60 months or more |
Scream:Use Cow instead. the meaning of Goat has now changed to something great. |
TruthsFM:Did you say 50%. most results upload in eti-osa lga in lagos are from Nasarawa state. Inec is looking for result from different part of the country to support their rigging. |

Agwaso:INEC is at it again. how did nasarawa results get to Sangotedo. |
Please for those that voted at Sangotedo Lagos. kindly check the result uploaded against your polling unit. i just saw results from Lafia, Nasarawa uploaded in all polling units around Ajah/Sangotedo |
I am yet to see the picture of the petrochemical refinery site. the picture you uploaded are pictures from a drilling rig site. I can see the land rig, waste pit, flare stack and the camp site. I hope you did not download the pictures somewhere to deceive us. He has tried in Industrialization drive by providing the enabling environment and influencing setting up industries across the state. He has however not done well in terms of capital development compared to other state that collects the same amount of money. On this regard, Udom Emmanuel made Akpabio seem like a god. Note that Akwa Ibom did not make any financial contribution to setting up the industries, even though they have equity in the Companies. Their equity is gotten by given the companies land with C of O. This what other states like Lagos and Ogun is doing to attract investors. The question is where is Akwa-Ibom's money going to? In my opinion, the lecturer is doing what our government wants. They say not work no pay, so he has to work to get his pay even if the students are not in class. |
Why would a governor keep N14b cash, is the government house a bank? A few points i have noted from his statement are as follows; 1. Keeping cash in the government house make it easier for pilfering and steal without trace, either by the governor, his family, or members of his staff. 2. It can also be money received from bribery, in cash but cannot be converted with this new CBN policies, hence they for the new government to pay salaries in cash. 3. How did the cash get to the government house? Was hugh amount of money withdrawn from the bank to keep the the government house, from which bank and for what purpose. 4. Is the money from IGR, if yes, is the government house a bank to store renvenue generated internally? 5. The ex governor should help why his government will leave 14b cash. |
Ilaumoh:We are missing the point when we argue over who performed better. All the governors came all different times, different revenues and different liabilities. We should not judge the book by its cover. What i have noticed in the state us that, there is consistent growth, faster than other states. One governor drew a plan an roadmap another built infrastructures to support industries and business and theus governor is setting up industries. I am happy with the growth rate of Akwaibom state. |
Brexxit:The allocation of the state and its internal generated revenue is in the public domain. Knowing the state revenue over the past 8 years, how many of such infrastructures in Dubai can Akwaibom set, especially if all the money was to be used for instrastructure. In my opinion, Akwaibom annually revenue is not enough to turn Akwaibom to Dubai. Most infrastructures in Dubai are privately funded by investors all around the world. We should be fair to the Governors too, If we must blame the goverment, we should always highlight what we want from they. We complain about building infrastructures, they source for loan to put us in deeper mess. What we should be asking for us the easy of doing business. We should be asking for policies that supports local production and we should i our own way help our nation by patronizing local manufacturers. |
kingawothefirst:I agree with you that market men and women should clean after themselves, but I think the Local Government should also stop collecting sanitation levy from the market if they want market men to do the cleaning themselves. |
EcoBrick:Please i would like to know what the sanitation levy paid by shop owners in the market used for. I want to believe that the sanitation levy is for providing refuse dump in the market and evacuation of refuse from the market. If the market itis dirty, then the local government is not doing the job which they have been paid to do. |
Chelsea is a generous club. making Olivier Giroud to finally win the champions league medal after years with Arsenal. Ben Chilwell has also been rewarded for coming to the winning team. We want the same for Harry Keane. Come and win medals with Chelsea. |
stancydg:I like your writeup, like you i also think all the other two are influenced by sheyi shay. Where you got it wrong is posting the picture above. I listened to the guys audition but i was not impressed by his performance. |
Zane2point4:Dear Sir, Your bill is actually not high for a 3 bedroom or 2 bedroom flat. It depends on the number of ACs water heaters and how often you use them. In my opinion 265 kwh per month is not high. Though, I think you should question the rate per kwh, if you are not getting up to 20hrs of power daily. The increase to N55/kwh is subject to availability of 20hrs of electricity per day. If they are not doing up to that in your area, they should charge you less. I use 255 - 300 kwh per month depending on how often I run my ACs but my monthly recharge is N10,000. This is at the rate of N25.25 per kwh cos I don't have up to 20hrs power per day. |
Professors are not businessmen, they don't need to produce gas lighter. They can design products for businessmen or carryout research to improve the quality of products for some. It is better you don't assume until you have personally engage them to design any product for you. If they fail, then you can judge them by their performance. Look at the case on ground. How many months salary are they owing? How can they teach with empty stomach? Drabeey: |
I know that CIG has been assembling cars in their Ojota assembly plant since before Sanwo Olu came into power. I also know before now that lagos government ordered for 3000 pieces of SUV, to be used for taxi services, after the levy imposed on Uber & Bolt. The 3000 SUVs is currently being assembled. If LASG is an investors that means everyone driving CIG cars are all investors. The cars are cheap, fuel efficient but the size of the engine is small compared to other counter part but the coparism is not 2 equals. i.e. prado jeep of v8 has engine capacity of 5.7L whereas the GS8 has a v8 engine but capacity is 3.0L. Recall that prices of cars depends on the size of the engine. Therefore you cannot compare price of prado with GS8 since prado is by far a bigger car. By the way i am driving one of their truck, the engine capacity is 1.7L, smaller than corolla engine. |
3 Because i love my daughter and she is my future. 1. Because 1 love my wife and my mother would very proud of me for doing so. 2. Because i love my mother and her life means much more than $10M. 4. If the money is still there i will go for it. I have learnt a thing or two from your post. I need to teach my family our to swim and survive in water. You never can tell when they will need it. |
