I am very sure some people must have mocked us. Sticking to the team even after we failed to qualify for AFCON '17 and hoping against all hopes. We have finally scaled through to Russiah.

Shouts out to everyone who have supported this team from regular commenters to ghost readers. You are the real deal and you've made the journey worthwhile.

Special shout out to the op who created this thread in person of Terzurum5-I hope you are glad and happy over there, to the news crew and updates specialist(Sirs Okpyendega, Joebie, Tbaba1234 who is our camera man, forgiveness, blackalbino6 etc) Kudos to you too...

Finally, Wishing the SEs greater success in the future.

God bless the Super Eagles of Nigeria!
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!

#SoarEagles and spread your wings over East Europe.

The faith papi Rohr have in Agu may soon pay off. There must be a reason why he keeps using him, and since thats not known yet, we have to look deeper. It may simply be the 'playing to instructions'.
that dude is another version of Rueben Gabriel.

E b like se most people no know or de don forget who Joel Obi IS? No thanks to his injury laden career.

Here is how I rate and rank our CMF/AMF Players.
1. John Mikel Obi
2. Joel Obi
3. Oghenekaro Etebo
4. Alex Iwobi
5. Ongenyi Onazi
6. Okechukwu Azuibuke
7. John Ogu
8. Mikel Agu.
e look like se I'm right with our midfielders ranking.

I am very sorry to say this. Mikel Agu is not ready for the Super Eagles. How he keeps starting ahead of Etebo and Ogu still baffles me. Simple ball that guy can't play. But some one here is telling us the boy is a great tracker- I no know wetin dem steal wey d guy de track. Let him go and improve his game or else he should be drop.

the question is will those ones even be ready to be understudies for Rohr
on point! aside accepting to understudy Rohr, the question is will they learn?

I was disappointed in Salisu Yusuf. Despite spending a year as an assistant to Rohr. I have see no improvement in his managerial/coaching skills-WAFU SPEAKS IT ALL.

I will suggest that any indigenious coach we will be considering in the future MUST have had experience coaching a club/country outside Nigeria with some acceptable level of success as we had in late Keshi's case. In short make dem go and learn outside first since they've refused to learn from home...

Conte no see that fault?
It's an obvious attribute. Conte must have seen it. I expect Moses to have improve on his decision makings. His final balls(passes) are often blocked by defenders.

Look at our 1st game under Rohr, we created over 20 chances with Moses contributing the larger share. But we only manage to score against Tazania. You know why? Poor delivery!

Someone made mention of V. Moses weakness which is his inability to pass when due. Dude's timing is poor. I hope the technical crew sits down and discuss this with him just the way Rohr instructed Simon to always track back-which has improved his game.

you mean Mind games? Well, I hope so.

One thing I'm sure of is that we'll create chances. I only hope our boys will put on their scoring boots and be as ruthless as they can be. How I wish we can hit 5goals and start sending some messages to our prospective opponents. Just the way the Germans are doing.

GERNOT ROHR SPEAKS

Rohr Hints At New Formation For Zambia Tie – Our Tactics Will Surprise Zambia
October 5, 2017053

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will not play same formation and style that helped them pick a win and a draw against Cameroon in their last World Cup 2018 Qualifiers against Zambia, according to coach Gernot Rohr.

Rohr made this known during the pre-match conference of the team ahead of Saturday’s clash against Zambia in ‎Uyo. A game which a win will see them progress to the World Cup in Russia.

Victory will see Nigeria gain an unassailable 13 points, which will be good enough for them to progress to the World Cup as group winners with a game to spare‎.

The 4-0 win and 1-1 draw against Cameroon helped the Eagles to confirm their leadership of the group, but Rohr says they will change the formation that helped them in the games against Cameroon for obvious reasons.

” We know our style that helped us against Cameroon, and we would love to play the same style again, but we know it will be more difficult to do it against Zambia “, Rohr said.

DONT MISS ==> Why Foreign Based Eagles Are Better Than Home Based Players - Rohr Explains
” They ( Zambia) already know us and our style from the game against Cameroon. So we have to have a good preparation and also change tactics, also to be more dangerous and to be able to surprise them “, he concluded.

--OGN
whatever Rohr's plan is, he needs to be cautious with the tactics. A change of formation might be dicey. I suggest we tread softly so we don't have a repeat of South Africa game where he went for a wide 4-3-3 in place of the usual 4-2-3-1.

Though we may presently have the players to execute any formations. But it should be when the Zambians have been put to sword.

Jay Jay- Wilson Oruma- Chidi Odiah.

So much enjoyed the trio back then.
Oruma was another skillful player we didn't see much of due to Jay Jay's presence-he came at the wrong time while Chidi is the best RB Super Eagles has produced in the last decade-though he left the scene so quick. He should still be in his mid 30s same as story as T.Taiwo

From my perspective Echiejile is the WEAKEST LINK.

Without a bona-fide left back a makeshift Aina will be better than Echiejile.

If we all can see it, then definitely the Zambians can. That gap needs to be plugged.

First choice striker is Ighalo no contest for now.

The legendary Mikel put in a first class performances against Cameroon considering that he was not really match fit. That's simply amazing. However, he may not last the 90 minutes, I would then replace him with Iwobi who is the next best thing to a playmaker we have in the mold of Mikel.

I would like to see another striker come in, not sure who is most, in-form. Because at the moment KC is not firing on all cylinders and his confidence is not on a high.
Nice one.
I no see anything o @Legendary.

Balogun is a very important player in the rear. If we had just Balogun of those we missed against SA, we won't have lost that match. That outlines his importance. I posted snapshots here earlier on our player selections for that Egypt double header and the Cameroon friendly. For the Cameroon friendly, we had Balogun pairing with Ambrose at CB. And we went on to beat Cameroon 3-0. Cameroon started with about 60% of the same team we met a month ago. Even Vincent Abubakar started.

For the Egypt double header, Ambrose and Oboabona were our CB pairings. Amuzie benched Echiejile in both encounters. Against SA, it was Ekong and Awaziem at CB. What's common about all the formations we used in the games we performed poorly? Answer: the absence of Balogun. Another observation, Balogun-Ambrose partnership is probably as good as Balogun-Ekong partnership.

At the same time, let's not forget that our defense set-up have come a long way. This is what have been helping us more than the individual abilities of the players -- with the exception of Balogun. We will have to rely on our wingers and DM once again to cover for our deficiencies at the rear. And with Balogun present, we won't have much to worry about.
spot on!
